UMPIRE APPRECIATION ROUND

This week we turn our aenon to the unsung heroes of our game –the Umpires.

Umpire Appreciaon round is an iniave of the AFL and SANFL aimed at encouraging all players, coaches, administrators and supporters of our game to appreciate the efforts of nearly 12,000 umpires naonally who officiate every weekend.

Too oen the role of the umpire in our game is overlooked and taken for granted. All umpires who officiate do so with the best intenons of implemenng the 'Laws of the Game' to the best of their ability This is a difficult task that is somemes viewed in a crical fashion This weekend the MSEFL would like to show our appreciaon to all our umpires who take up the challenge of umpiring our game.

The key messages we would like to promote as part of Umpire Appreciaon round are:

1. Playing, coaching and umpiring need to have a stronger relaonship – this refers to all of the key parcipants within our game showing a high level of respect for each other. As role models, coaches should always ensure they act appropriately towards umpires.

2. Umpiring is everyone's business – we all need to have a posive impact on the match day environment – this refers to players, coaches, parents, administrators, volunteers, supporters and everyone involved in our game having an impact on the match day environment. If there is abuse and inmidaon towards umpires on match day then the environment can be considered poor, however if there is respect shown towards umpires and a level of tolerance then the match day environment will be posive.

3. New and inexperienced umpires are sll learning the game – New umpires to our panel are sll learning how to umpire and should be encouraged and supported. No one gets beer sing on the sidelines.

To ensure all umpires are valued and treated with respect, not just today but for the remainder of the season we would encourage clubs to play your part by connuing to encourage team coaches and captains to shake hands with the umpires prior to the coin toss, for all parcipang players to thank and acknowledge the umpires at the end of the game, just like you thank the opposion and invite the umpires into the club aer the match. It is important that we all respect the role of the umpire, so this weekend, think twice about offering that gratuitous advice and instead pat the umpire on the back and say THANK YOU!

football club notes

In perfect condions we made the road trip up the coast to Robe as we looked to take on a strong Robe ouit across the grades and look to get the season going for our senior side. The day started strong with our youngest legends kicking the dew off the grass.

Thanks goes to our Junior Game Day Sponsors - Autocare Mt Gambier, Rarcoola Structural, The Rocks Shop, MT Wheels & 3MP as game day sponsors and weekly award sponsors in – The Roadhouse, Country Atude, Spot On, Bunnings, Aussie Disposals, Sorrentos, OK Pie Shop, KD's Deli, Intersport, Doughnut King, Wendy's, McDonalds, Compton Street Baker’s Delight & Boost Juice.

Under 11: Once again Boxy's troops got the day started off right and kicking the dew off the grass. As with each passing week the skill development and team work is growing and impressive to watch and well worth the admission and early start to watch our future champions strut their stuff. If you ever get the chance, I urge you to get out and watch the young'uns as will leave you excited about the future of footy at K’doo. A huge thank you to our game day awards sponsors in Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Donut King & Compton Street Baker’s Delight with the awards going to Chuck, Levi, Isaac, Loie, Lillie, Brodes & Lile Ollie.

Junior Colts: What a game for the Junior Colts up against a very determined young Roosters side. Once again, we jumped out of blocks in the first with some quality passages of play and real teamwork to have a 13-point lead at the 1st break. The second saw the young Maggies increase the lead once again some quality teamwork around the round to hold an 18 point margin at the main break. With the game there for our maggies, the Roosters fought back hard in the 3rd, and we just couldn't hold them but sll managed a 5 point lead at the final break. The last was a tense bale as both sides managed 1 goal each and defended hard, but the young maggies held them off to win their 2nd win for the year. Best players went to Lachy McCann – Spot On, Aiden Cooper –Bunnings, Frank Mules – OK Pie Shop, Natalia Edwards – Baker’s Delight & Jack Barry & Caleb Scholz – Coaches Awards.

Senior Colts: Senior Colts had 5 lads from Glencoe who had the bye and the effort from Will Maloney to bring the boys up was greatly appreciated and meant we had a game. We had some good passages of play throughout the day and in stages looked to play some good footy, but weight of numbers was always against us. Best players went to Leslie Jagger – Road House, Declan Much – Country Atude, Axe – Aussie Disposal, Lachy McCann –OK Pie Shop, Nato – OK Pie Shop.

Reserves: With a few players called up

for Senior duty and a couple unavailable, Auldy had to round up a few and swing the magnets around throughout the game. The 1st half was an even bale with neither side gaining an ascendancy and was only 3 points in at the main break. With 1 down on the bench Auldy urged the guys on in the 3rd but the Roosters held us scoreless while kicking 4 themselves to break the game open. While baling hard the Maggies just couldn't get reward for effort in the last going down by 48 points. Auldy will be looking forward to welcoming back a few over the coming weeks. Best players went to Cam Auld, Zeb McKenna, Reevsey, Tommy Walker, Blommy & Gussy Widdison.

Seniors: Aer a solid week on the track and a few changes to the side due to injury it gave the chance to reward a few lads with a senior game that had been playing well in the 2's and earned a call up. With a perfect arvo for footy and a slight breeze heading towards the town end Robe looked to kick with the wind in the 1st. Both sides had plenty of the ball early on with neither side able to get an ascendancy and only for some inaccurate kicking saw Robe up by 5 points at the 1st break. The 2nd saw the Maggies chance to ulise the breeze but was very much a repeat of the 1st with both sides kicking the 2 goals and saw the margin to the Roosters to the tune of 8 points at the half. Lynsey at the main break looked for a li around the ground, be always confident and brave and sure with the skills and just get back to the Kalangadoo brand of footy. Unfortunately, this didn't prevail in the 3rd with the Roosters jumping out the blocks early in the quarter and just taking away the me and space for the Maggies to get their hands on the ball. By the me the 3 qtr me siren blew the margin had blow out to 7 goals in favour of the Roosters. The final huddle saw Lynsey push for a crack in the last and fight out the final quarter and take some momentum in to the next game, and there were some quality passages of play in the last and some strong commied footy but the weight of numbers in the end saw the final margin our to and even 60 points. Will be looking to welcoming a few players back over the coming weeks and get season 2024 back on track. Best players went to Jaggs Pra, Tye McManus, Jack Casey, Jusn Bromley, Tommy Williams, Dylan Bromley

A huge weekend for the club as we welcome our valued 2024 sponsors for Sponsors Day, 2014 A Premiership reunion & Past Players Day plus those that are hanging around aer presentaons is our annual Wimbledoo Championship as we look to see who will take on Roger (Chrissy Mules) Federer, Rafa (Reevsey) Nadal & Jannik (Mia Lowe) Sinner for the tle.

Thank you to everyone who organized and also supported our 100 Club last weekend, it was a great night and it was fantasc to see a good crowd. Congratulaon to young Batchy, Gunk, Robbo and Moon on taking away the big prize. Some great events coming up at the club this season so check out our Social Calendar around the club and on Facebook. We would like to make a special menon to our Silver sponsors – Café Melzar, Gildera Forestry Services, JKM Maintenance & Labour Hire, Nutrien Ag Soluons, Professional Wind Services, Quickmix, Millicent Windows and Doors, Glen Johnson Bowen, Dentons Sport Power, Splendid Eggs, Telf's Plumbing, Brandt and Skookum Technology. Gold Sponsors – Moreland Holdings, The Property Co SA and Globe Hotel. Corporate Sponsors – Holla Fresh, Iberdrola, Somerset Hotel and Tiger Hotel.

Junior Colts: Last week in the Junior Colts we headed back home to verse Kongorong. Coming off another win our kids were eager to connue their winning streak. Aer a slow start to the game Under 11 Lawson Baker kicked the first goal for the game and with some hard work and great team work our kids were able to stretch the lead by 7 goals. Both captains Jayden Hunter and Jedd Hardingham showed some real leadership and were able to get great runs which lead to goals. The pressure in the forward line and backline connues to improve with the kids laying some great tackles and we were able to get it out to the backline using the linkup handle. Best players – Jayden Hunter, Summer Batchelor, Jedd Hardingham, Harvey Vanderheul, Jack Rowe and Lawson Baker. Special menon to the 5 under 11 kids who have been playing and connue to improve and aack the ball as if they were sll playing their game.

Senior Colts: On a beauful Saturday morning we headed back to our home deck to take on Kongorong. Aer a disappoinng week last week we wanted to start well and put the pressure on them but once again started poorly we fought hard but couldn't find ourselves geng our hands on the football leading us to be down by a

bit at half me. Aer half me we moved a few magnets around and told our boys we just want them to fight and show something and they did that kicking a couple goals and holding them to a couple for each quarter also. The boys fought hard but ulmately went down by 50. Goal kickers where Braydn Hateley, Ryan Long and Brayden Rowe. Best players were Kaden Bell, Curs Richards, Jayden Hunter, Eli Bowman, Jake Bevan and Braydn Hateley

Reserves: Last week in the B grade we started really strong, we are applying lots of pressure and tackled well which gave us some really good looks going into our forward line. Once again though we turned the ball over too many mes and made mistakes which Kongorong took advantage of. The warm weather took the sng off the game by half me and we didn't have the legs to run the game out. Once again Darcy was top goal scorer with 2 majors. Best was Ma Nelson, Bundy, Bommer, Trowbridge and Winks.

A Grade: Last week at home we played Kongorong with very warm temperatures for May. Both sides looking for their first win and in the first 10 minutes Kongorong put 2 quick goals on us, we were 2 players down and things weren't going our way. We fought back to get the lead and kept the lead to half me. We kept fighng into the third but a lot of decisions didn't go our way which was very disheartening at the me and our young playing group needed to adapt to what was very clearly nothing going our way. Kongorong got the lead but we never gave up, and to the boys credit we come back from 15 points down. Unfortunately a point on the siren was the difference. We stay posive, learn from games like this and keep trying to improve. Best players Jack Cytrowski, Cade Kelly, Zac Walker, Braydn Hateley and Hayden Brown.

We were greeted in Tant by lovely blue skies and some warm sun which was perfect game day condions. Congratulaons to our A Grade boys who got the win, a step in the right direcon showing hard work does pay off!

Under 11: The Under 11’s played a hard fought and determined game of football against Tantanoola. Both sides displayed a high level of ball skills which made for an enjoyable game of football to watch. Thanks to the Tant umpire for a very fair game. Awards: Intersport - Harry Collins, Brant Family - Brody Stephens, Presidents AwardNash Brant, Coaches Award - Harry Nicholas, Club Award - Mac Brant and Donut King - Nathaniel Elletson.

Tantanoola and Kongorong combined in the Auskick, for some of the kids it became a social oung. Once they got into the game they all got a kick. It was good to see a big crowd come out and support the Auskick team. Award: Donut King - Finley Weaver.

Junior Colts: Was a great team effort at Tantanoola. Even though we didn't get the win it was fantasc to see the kids aack the footy. Tantanoola are a strong side and for our team to keep them to 8 goals was a strong effort, keeping the pressure on them for the enre game. If the kids can show this effort every week, they will win more games this season. Great work everyone. Awards went to Koby Galloway (Lucas Family), Connor Gordon (Spot on Fishing), Noah Von Stanke-Dowie (Aussie Disposals), Zavier Hunt (Janeway Plumbing), Angus Maidment (Lucas Family) and Jordan Collins (Paradise Pizza).

Senior Colts: On another sensaonal day for football the focus for our group was carrying forward the momentum of the previous week. Round 3 saw our brand begin to emerge and it was pleasing to see it from the first bounce in round 4. Our group got off to a great start, controlling the speed of play with great maturity and execung the basics well. Our ability to find targets and get fast deep entries gave us some good looks at goal and off the back of some excellent forward cra we were able to hit the scoreboard with great effect. At the main break I asked our group to maintain a consistent effort and sck to our process. It was evident that our opposion had lied their intensity in the second quarter and our skill execuon and decision making was

beginning to drop. The third quarter saw our mids and defenders working hard in our back half as we lacked connecon with our half forwards who stopped working up the ground. Exit kicks and clearances were beginning to come back the other way quickly and we did well not to concede more score. At the final break we discussed the need for our half forwards to shorten the oval and for our group to get back to playing our brand of football. With some extra numbers on the bench we were expecng to have more run in our legs late in the game but to Tant’s credit they fought the game out and connued to put our defenders under pressure in the last. Some efficient ball use in the front half allowed us to score and extend the margin in what was a tough even contest. Value Awards went to Toby McKinnon (Mahew’s Petroleum), Jai Hillstone (MT Wheels), Jobe Janeway (DA’Leni Meats), Drew Paerson (Mick Mullan), Ryan Taylor (Badenochs Deli) and Aden McCallum (Coaches Award). B Grade: Hard fought team win, which was made even beer when the A grade boys got the job done in the main game. Our game was a real team effort with everyone chipping in. The best part was the way we celebrated each other’s successes and shared the ball round. Another big challenge this week that we look forward to. Sean Maddern, Michael Waters, Brad Long, Paul Buntsma, Declan Wright and Dan Hann were the award winners. Thanks to award sponsors Collins Court Butchers, The Commercial Hotel, Pick Avenue Deli and the club.

A Grade: The boys started steady with Tant playing well in first half. They had plenty of run and carry and our boys finding themselves flat-footed. Aer half me the boys decided to have a bit of a go with a few clearances and moving it forward. It was close in the last, we went goal for goal, giving the boys enough confidence to hold on, and in a do or draw situaon we were lucky enough to get a mark in range with El Modra kicking the winning point. Awards went to Tom Hunter (K&S), Ryan Lucas (Collins Court Butcher), Cam Sandercock (Commercial Hotel), Elliot Modra (Club Tea), Sjaakie Duivenvoorde (Club Tea), Luke McIntyre (Pick Ave Deli).

This week we are back at the home of the Hawks as we host Glencoe. Good luck to all and Carn’ the Hawks!

junior colts

Junior Colts: With Hamish away it was up to our young guns to step up. Tant got the jump on us with a quick start, boong four goals for the quarter. From there we started geng more involved, going down by 90 odd points. Harley played his best game for the year kicking a nice goal in the last quarter and being awarded best player. Annabelle connues to show her improvement from last year while Lachy H keeps cracking in at the contest. Max J and Harrison X keep on improving week by week.

Senior Colts: With a large squad and some absent due to misfortunes on two wheelers the senior colts were confident of a solid game. The boys warmed up with great intent from the first bounce, some slick ball movement saw 8 first quarter goals. Mixing posions and numerous rotaons resulted in a convincing victory. Goals kicked for the day were Max with 7 first half goals, Dan F with 5 and big Brodie P slong 4. Best for the day was Lachy B, Brodie P who marked everything, Kaleb P played well in the ruck and down back, Digby F with his run and carry, Kade M who's in some hot form and Dan F who played confidently

Reserves: A great win by a solid Reserves side, Ben H sll has a few absentees which will only see this side even stronger when they return. The first quarter was hot with lots of pressure, it was set to be close, the scores being level at the first break. We then jumped to a 5 point lead at the half me. Ben revved the boys up at half me and we jumped ahead to a 25 point lead with Brody A slong some nice goals finishing the day with 3, Dane also finished the day with 3, leading and presenng well. In the end we won by 31 points, great first win, lets keep it going. Jacob P who used his footy smarts and composure well received first best, captain Jason B connued to use his le boot to his advantage, 2nd best. 3rd best was Ben W who played well down back, Tom J played well in the middle and Isaac Stubberfield who connues to improve.

Seniors: A huge congratulaons to Max Whitehead who debuted for the club geng presenng his grandfather's playing number 31. Max has been warmly welcomed and has reciprocated by training and playing great footy. A perfect day for senior footy. The first quarter was a tussle with inaccurate finishing keeping it ght. Ahead by a couple of goals at the main break where Reece wanted a li in voice and pressure across the ground going into the third. Jack E got lost and found himself showing the forwards how to do it by slong a major. A bit of cramping in the last saw the tussle connue, finishing 17 points up at the final siren. Ma C played a pivotal role for 4 quarters being best afield. Second and third best were ever reliable Zacc C and Dylan C, Alex H marked everything and was hard to contain while Fletcher L throws everything he has and more at the contest. Well done again to Max W who rounded out the 6th best. Well played fellas. Enjoy the break, freshen up and see you on the track.

Brody played a number of seasons at Nangwarry and we thank him for his connued support aer rerement. If you need to check out his work just take a good look at the Nangwarry Football Club, following the fire which destroyed our club Brody, a past player, was quick to show his support offering his help. His work is epic and we are grateful for his skills.

Mini Mini's: The kids faced a very strong Hatherleigh last week. With a few away and sick we had to borrow some players for a change. Overall it was a great game with some good passages. The weather was beauful so our skills were excellent.

Junior Colts: Great day at Hatherleigh for footy. We did have a few out which made rotaons tricky, but for the kids that took the field I couldn't be prouder. Hatherleigh are top of the ladder for a reason and despite a slow start in the first quarter, we went up a notch in the remaining 3 quarters. We had our chances throughout the match to put some scoreboard pressure on our opposion just weren't able to execute. Aside from that our young Saints have put in a cracking effort all round and hope to see connual improvement week to week.

Senior Colts: It was a fantasc effort for our senior colts to get our first win of the season last week. Aer playing some really strong compeve footy over the first few weeks and just falling short it was great to see our group who is growing and learning to play together to get their first win against a really good Hatherleigh

team. Despite losing a couple of players from injury again it was a strong 4 quarter effort from everyone. Mulple goal kickers for the day was Ellwood Geary 2 goals in his first game for Nangwarry and Calais Borman 2 goals who is starng to play good footy. Award winners for the day was Tayte Virtanen with the OK Pie Shop, Cooper Harris with Fasta Pasta and Toby Grigg with Muffin Break other best players were Harry Hicks, Taj Bell and Noah Virtanen. We look forward to geng back at home and tesng ourselves against Robe today

B Grade: Had the hard task of taking on Hatherleigh last week. The boys baled hard all day and had a crack. We started slow but improved as the day went on and that was very encouraging to see, hopefully we have a few handy players back against Robe. Thank you to everyone who made the effort to help out for that day

A Grade: Again how good is it to play football in perfect condions? First quarter Hatherleigh got the jump on us from the outset with a cracking pace of ball movement but to the Nangwarry boy's credit they remained composed and were able to slow the pace of the game as well link up with some good transion movement of our own. There was plenty to like at the first break. The pace of the second quarter was set by Hatherleigh early but again the boys responded and with some good defending and a couple of Nozza Virtanen sausage rolls we kept it an even 3 goal to 2 quarter giving us plenty of confidence about our first half Third quarter we defended well. We again had good passages of play throughout the quarter. Some fundamental errors at crical moments were telling but again we didn't allow Hutchy and his boys to gain complete control of the game. The last quarter Hatherleigh, to their credit were well drilled and finished the game strongly but this did not mean our boys threw in the towel. We can take a lot of posives from this game and areas to work on in readiness to be beer this week. Goal kickers were Andy Hyland 3 goals and Noah Virtanen 2 goals. Best players for us on the day were Ty Dinnison, found inspiraon from his beloved Crows during the week but seriously Ty is playing a brand of football well beyond his years, George McWaters, Joel Virtanen, Lennox Lewis, Isaac Raymond and Josh Weedonall boys having consistent seasons to date. We look forward to being back on our home deck this week and we again look forward to taking on a side currently sing in the top 4.

I would like to menon a massive big thank you to Gobba and our hard working commiee for installing the new lights during the week. They are fantasc and we will enjoy being able to train across all areas of the ground. We are grateful.

ROBE ROOSTERS

football club notes

Junior Colts: Playing 2 quarters of reasonably good football, is not enough to win a game. If some of our boys didn't know that before the game, they certainly know it now! Our first quarter was ordinary to say the least, the second quarter was an improvement, but not to the standard that we wanted to be at; inaccuracy didn't help. At half me the team were given a gentle reminder of what we stand for and what that requires of them. To their credit they responded in the second half; outscoring the young Magpies, however we were not able to bridge the gap and fell short by 4 points. The first two quarters cost us, because we did not work hard enough when it counted most. Onto this week, hopefully we have every player available, and are able to field a full team, so the boys can play a game that is more indicave of our skills and accountability. In reality, the young Roosters are to be congratulated. They are young, willing to learn, and do their best; that is all that can be asked of them. As with most Junior Colts teams, they are a work in progress. Players considered to be consistent performers in most quarters were: Byron, Dylan, Eli, Nate, Reid and Boodah. All the best this week team.

Senior Colts: Round 4 and yes a win at last against Kalangadoo but before we get into it just a thanks to Graham and the K’doo boys, it's a credit to them with very limited numbers that they get out each week and put in there all - well done lads. Saying that it was a great game by our boys who maybe the

penny has dropped and yes we gave a 4 qtr effort and we played as a team and we had the right atude and look what happened. Awesome work from defence, the mids and the forwards led by a 10 goal bag to Dewy and a couple to Jaxon in his first run up forward (he may be following in his father's footsteps). Best were Dewy, Archie, Kaiden, Blake, Nato with Levi the incenve and Taj the coaches... but this list could have included all players. Leroy

A Grade: We had another great win on Saturday, to go along with the fantasc weather and a successful past players day As we have so far this year we started slowly. Both teams geng their fair share of the ball with the scores close at half me. We came out in the third firing kicking 7 goals to 1 to put the game out of K’doo’s reach. And finished off strongly to have a 10 goal win. Right unl the end, the game was played as it should, hard and fair and in great team spirit from both sides. Tom Wok was best by far, dominang ruck and covering ground gathering disposals all over the ground. Captain Henry had his best game for the year and Joely Bryant had a massive second half bagging 5 goals. Patrick Mathews was on fire all day and certainly put his hand up to stake his claim as an A grader. Egan Regnier rounded out the best players with a solid day on the wing. Best of luck and a speedy recovery also to Michael Krieger aer injuring his shoulder on Saturday. See you all at Nangwarry.

PORT MACDONNELL DEMONS

B Grade: Pt MacDonnell 7.3 lost Mt Burr 14.7. May 4th... In a galaxy far, far away… (imagine Star Wars opening music '77!) an epic saga begins! Yes, that's the B grade... our “Phantom Menace”… and every club scrambles its rebellion forces to play another day! With the sun shining brightly as the twin suns of Tatooine, we travelled far, far away to the system of Burr (Brrrrr) where a young Ben “Obi Wan” McGregor searches for another win. Our Rebels were stunned with the imperial forces (Mt Burr) gaining a solid lead in the first quarter and while “Old Ben Kenobi” O'Dine rallied the troops with his stellar effort across the midfield and back lines earning himself another BOG. Kobi “Skywalker” Stratman showed how much of a disturbance in the force he was with his versality and endeavor on the ball through the second half halng the momentum of the opposion, while Tom “Han Solo” Sullivan whipped through every ball contest with light speed, coming away with 3rd best. Simon Merre charged through the CHB line pushing the ball forward all day and was helped by young Rebels Mason Brown and Kurs Lasle earning 4th, 5th and 6th respecvely. A solid second half (Princess Leia's message must have got out!) saw the Rebels halt the flow of scoring shots into the Burr forward line evening up the game but as we know a Diplomac envoy will never outrun the Corellian star cruiser when they have such a big headstart! (something that needs to be worked on boys). Goalkickers for the Bay (Rebels) Mason “Jar Jar Binks” Brown with 3, Simon “R2D2” Merre 2, and one apiece to “Jawas” Isaac Narass and Nathan Munro. Many thanks go to senior colt, Will Lewis for helping fill in and to Hayden Tickle for pulling on the boots even though he was just vising from Qld. In closing let me say… ”Help us Obi Wan Kenobi! You're our only hope!” … we now come up against the Eagles at home. Go Demons!… May the Fourth be with you!

A Grade: Pt MacDonnell 12.13 lost

Mt Burr 14.10. We made our way to Mount Burr with the sun shining warmly, and while the grounds looked very picturesque, the game was anything but. First quarter started evenly but the Burr pulled ahead slightly by 5 points at the break. Will Macdonald put in a first-class game controlling our ruck and centre square with the quality of play we have come to expect from a Mail Medal winner earning a BOG for his efforts. Ned Wilke looked menacing through our forward line providing plenty of opportunies for us to score and with a work rate that earned him the number two spot. At 3rd and 4th best, old head Zack Williams and young gun Luke Richards (respecvely) gave the Burr forwards no rest, challenging their every turn of the ball, while Colby Munro created play forward me and me again amongst formidable odds. A grade “alumni” Blake Lynch showed he sll has the goods direcng troops from the flanks and centre, providing the essenal movement we needed as the ball came to ground. Scores were ght all game and at the half me break there was only 10 points in it. Both sides baled strongly to gain control, going goal for goal most of the game. Alex Ridding put in another stellar performance with a handy bag of 4 goals while Tim Sullivan kept our forward opons going with 3 of his own. Riley Morgan has proven to be a useful goal sneak up front boong 2, with Chrisan Howle, Josh Woodall and Ma “Mortal“ Stark kicking one each. Scoring shots were even through the last half (8.5 each) and only sheer determinaon kept the scores from blowing out. Unfortunately, the last 5 minutes cost us with some undisciplined play but overall, it was a very ghtly contested game, and the boys le their all on the field. As a coach you can't ask more than that. Now we come up against Hatherleigh, another quality opponent, at home. Let's make sure “every heart beats true for the Red and the Blue”. Train hard to play hard... Go Demons!

HATHERLEIGH EAGLES

football club notes seniors

B Grade: Well another cracking day for football, don't think I've seen most of the team put sunscreen on before a game in May before! Firstly congratulaons to Coaden Taylor on his first senior game coming up to fill a spot in the reserves, well deserved and finished the day with a couple snag rolls, even had the cheek to give veteran forward Tommy Bell some goal kicking pointers. Joe Rayson was all over the ground had the ball on a string, Gilbo also would of had a sore foot aer the game. Josh Wight played a great captain’s game at CHF. Ethan Leopold baled all day in the ruck along with his second and third

at ground level. Harvey Jones found plenty of space to kick 5 goals, Rural finishing the day with 7 also.

Senior Colts: Back at home against a quality Nangwarry side. Sadly the boys just weren't good enough and went down by about 20 points. It was good to see that the boys were disappointed aer the game and are striving to get beer week in week out. Best players were 1st best, Denton’s Sports Power award went to Riley Haines. 2nd best the Stumpy Award went to Ethan Marshall. 3rd best the Ginos Pizza award went to Huddy Nowak. 4th best the Ladies Commiee award went to Toby Morris. 5th best the Peter Walter's award went to Oskar Howell. Good week on the track and into Pt Mac!

Junior Colts: The excellent football weather connued on Saturday at Hatherleigh. The fine condions were great for players and spectators,

although I know the local farmers are looking forward to some wet weather footy. Well done to Nangwarry for geng some good numbers in Junior and Senior Colts. Their Junior Colts were very compeve and their Senior Colts looked good in accounng for ours. Our boys enjoyed their hit out, with the match played in good spirits and tough compeon. We were able to pull away for a comfortable win to connue our good form. Will Dower was dominant up forward again, driving the ball into the forward 50 and picking up mulple goals. Tommy Atkinson was really solid again across the centre line, seng up well defensively and working hard around stoppages. Patrick McGrath rucked all day and was effecve in the air and once the ball hit the ground. Tait Gregec was good up forward and also did good things down back, where he was quick and clean with the footy. Leni Clifford was good at full forward, geng into good posions to provide a target and finished off the good work of others. This week we head to Port Mac for what should be another tough test that we will all be looking forward to.

NETball club notes

Junior 2: Mini Magpies had an amazing game with a lot of great play They worked hard on their footwork and all improved out of sight. Harper and Ariella combined well in the goal circle, Grace and Heide have matured and connected with the ball in key posions, Evie is a lile pocket rocket with strong hands and fast footwork. Hannah had some great defensive work and great strong hands with a lot more strength in her passing. Willow started to gain more and more confidence and it was amazing to witness all the fun and improvements! Willow got Boost Juice award and Evie got the OK Pie Shop award. Everyone could have got the award they all did incredible.

Junior 1: Amazing game, we came out firing with Aurora and Charlie in goals geng heaps of shots up. Mackenna, Adele, Olivia and Zali worked endlessly in defence which created many turnovers and passed beaufully to our mid court. Our mid court girls Alyssa, Ariella, Harper and Willow worked hard geng in front of their players and connued to help out when needed. All girls worked hard on working on geng in front and keeping to their lanes. It’s great to see the things we learn at training in the game. Best players: Aurora (Lolli-pops) and Charlie (OK Pie Shop).

13 & Under: Our goalies shot very well and everyone adjusted to coming forward and then reoffering again either receiving or defending the pass which is pleasing to see. Tekani reads the play very well in GD and she will be definitely one to watch later on in her netball career receiving fairly floss award for ght defence work. Milla played both GK and GS posion and is very capable of both posions which she received the Boost Juice award. We just need to pracce more accuracy with shoulder passes and into the space or the hands of our players then the opposing team hands. Keep up the good work girls.

15 & Under: Some really nice passages of play with a couple of new combinaons. Zoe (Fasta Pasta) and Molly were solid again in defence liming the scoring for Robe. Kiersten was a good target at GS and took some great balls, with Ava being ever reliable at C always making good passing decisions and presenng well. Lucy (Aloha) shot accurately and made good posion in the goal circle, working hard for the whole game. Lexie connues to impress at WA and Ella and Emmity were also great team players. Well done girls. Let’s keep working on our fitness and skills as the season progresses.

17 & Under: Aer a slow start and some concentraon errors we steadied the ship and played a great game. I love the standard you hold our team to and how determined you all are to play the game with minimal mistakes. Remember not to get too down on ourselves when things don’t go perfectly to plan. Ellie (Melzars) and Maya (Birdie Blue) were fantasc in defence very well supported by Ash who applies connuous pressure. Our aack line had some great passages of play when we found the space and fed

from the circles edge. The excing part is as a team we sll have so much to work on. Well done for a great start to the season so far

B Reserve: A great win and it was wonderful to have our first game with the full team although injury prevenng 100% strength to the side. We ulised our versality and demonstrated many combinaons throughout the match. Nic and Deb worked well together in the defensive circle during the first half, picking off many passes and seng one another up to gain possession of the ball. Mids ran their hearts out and created just as many turnovers among themselves while seamlessly bringing the ball down to our goalies. Maddi and Jodi found plenty of space made use of all scoring opportunies. Making our main switches at half me didn’t alter the momentum that we had in the first half. Gem and Emma put the pressure on Robe’s goalies and connued to come up with possession. Emma (Fasta Pasta award) connued to dominate the WD posion, showed strength in her new found circle defence spot and was able to always back up our aack at the line. Jodi (Birdie Blue award) shot beaufully and held her space to allow for easy feeding from her aack combos. A strong performance from everyone.

B Grade: Robe brought the beauful sunny weather last week. Our girls had a strong start to the game with a few changes to our team. Lucy and Rhi moved seamlessly around the ring with great posioning and feeding from our mid courters. We worked hard down the court to make sure we had front posion. It was great to have Bec on court with us for her first game of the season. Our defence worked relessly against some very skilled and agile shooters. Sarah was able to put pressure over the ball and work hard to minimise drive into Robe’s aack. With lots of changes happening all over the court, I connue to be impressed with our adaptability. Best players: Lucy Williams - Globe Hotel, Sarah Williams - Café Melzars.

A Reserve: Another great game girls despite some sickness taking ahold of our normal side! Mel and Shayden were fantasc in goals and were well supported by Anthea, Lucy and Maya. Defence worked as a solid unit all game geng plenty of turnovers and rebounds. Thank you for Ellie sing bench. Anthea - The Globe, ShanaeMelzars.

A Grade: A tough and ght contest all game, our ability to cope well under pressure and also dig ourselves out of the hole really shows the level of ‘cker’ our team has. Defence were solid and connued to give the aack line as many opportunies as we needed. Janeo and Jayde worked relentlessly in the mid court and our paence in aack helped get us over the line. A lot of posives to take out of it and very appreciave of the constant support from the Hills on the sideline each week. Best players: Jayde Peacock - Terry White Chemist, Jane Auld - RSL.

TANTANOOLA

NETball club notes

Junior 2: Girls you gave it your all, you should be proud of yourselves! Every one of you gained an intercept, showed paence while bringing the ball down the court & listened to instrucons! Aackers, When the ball was turned over to the other team, you quickly adjusted into defenders, put your hands up over the ball which helped cause turnovers we were able to score from. The defenders stopped the ball from reaching their goal circle countless mes which was perfect! Tant canteen voucher goes to Bella Reilly for her drives onto the circle & cung in front and Lexi Johnson for always being an opon to pass to which helped the flow down the court.

Junior 1: A very challenging game against Kongorong for our young girls. There were some great passages of play down the court & into the goal circle & some great defensive turnovers. We just need to work on our strong passing & not rushing. Awards went to Lidia (Tant Canteen) for an excellent effort through the mid court & to Gracie (Tant Canteen) for some good turnovers at GK.

13 & Under: It was a great start to the game, Renae running mid court well & Liv seling into goals. Pip & Liv also put on court a set play we had worked on at training which they nailed. The heat got to us again in the 2nd & 3rd quarter where we struggled with strong passing & we went for the easy lead backwards which caused many errors. It was great to see us finishing off the last quarter strongly. Liv received our TFC canteen voucher while Stella had a great game especially through mid court receiving the Wendy's award.

15 & Under: Congratulaons! We have come a long way in a short me, so let's connue to work at our game to show even more improvement in the coming weeks. Once again Alice was the star of our show, her work rate nothing short of amazing while Rachael gets beer each week to also be named in the best. Malda (McCourts Garden Centre) also had a great game, giving her utmost in both roles played. Astyn scored the Wendy's award and Lexi the coach's award (Devine Gis). Must also menon Tamika for her strong game and pong all three goals in the final quarter when the pressure was on.

17 & Under: A fantasc game played by all of the girls! Isla and Molly’s work rate was high in the defensive circle once again with incredible pressure on the wing by Kaitlyn (Somerset voucher). In aack we knew we had to keep

the intensity going all game but the girls didn't disappoint, Bethan played a ripper game in goals (Commiee voucher) along with Hailey and Poppy who provided so much drive and great passages of play in the goal circle. Kailah and Demi found circle edge well and had great vision into the circle. With a few posional changes throughout the game and warm condions, the girls played a classy team game and came away with the win. Well done girls!

B Reserve: Not one of our beer performances! We had some good passages of play but they were patchy - the good news is that we were sll in touch, showing that we connued to work hard ll the final whistle. Lauren took out the “Heaven on a Hanger' award, Holly “Chelsea Feast makeup” and Kath the coaches award (Devine Gis).

B Grade: Last week's game was a good win for us and it was amazing having almost our whole team back in. The weather turned out to be very hot so our main aim was to play our game, keep it steady and not be running around and doing unnecessary work. The girls came out strong, played really well together and as always remained posive and very supporve towards each other. We played a young side this round but next round will be our true test against Kalangadoo.

A Reserve: On a very warm day the Tigers played the Hawks. The game was very even for the first part with both teams going goal for goal. The Tigers managed to pull away a lile bit in the first, but that was soon reigned back in towards the end of the second. With a lot of changes throughout the game the Tigers were exploring what line ups are working. Coming into the last quarter the Tigers found themselves with a task ahead being 6 goals down. Some great defensive efforts across the whole court provided the crical turnovers the Tigers needed. A very pleasing result with the Tigers coming away with the win by 1 goal. Best: Dakota HateleyHeaven on a Hanger and Eva Bonde - Since Fiy Six.

A Grade: Great game girls. Your on-court demeanour was a credit to you as a team. Aer a close first quarter you showed your class to pull away with some great intercepons and feeding into the goals. Sll some work to do on ming and court transion which we will focus on in coming weeks. Well done Bella on an outstanding game in defence and Emma, rewarding her team’s hard work under the post.

NETball club notes kongorong

We would like to thank our game day sponsors for their support. Round 4 sponsors are Fernleaf Farms, Hallecon Builders and O'Connor & Graney

Junior 1: Was a great game, the sun was shining in everyone’s eyes but they sll played their game. Defence was doing an amazing job of keeping the Tant shooters on their feet with no goal being easy. The mid court got a number of turnovers through the game, working it down to our shooters. The girls goals were going in, even with Tant hot on our toes, amazing game girls! Awards went to Allara (McDonalds voucher) and Holly ($5 canteen voucher).

Junior 2: On a great sunny day at Tantanoola, you girls showed just how far you have come. So many brilliant intercepts and rebounds by every single player! Lenny worked extra hard in defence and turned over the ball a lot. Edie and Lilah when they were in defence did a great job at turning and block. Something we are working on. Delilah played her best game yet, geng so many touches, intercepts and loose balls. Really showing how much she wanted the ball. Everyone played well. We sll need to work on going back to give ourselves room to run towards the ball. Awards went to Lenny - Kaboom bowling, Delilah - $5 canteen voucher.

13 & Under: Fantasc work girls! We spoke about taking care of possession and playing our own roles and everyone was able to adjust and played amazing. We sll have work to do with our passing and some decision making but the improvement each week is awesome to see. Best went to Claire (club award) for a stellar game in defence and Isabelle (Kaboom Bowling) for playing her role and aacking the ball. Well done girls, lets keep training hard and working towards that win!

15 & Under: Tough game girls. We have a few errors which saw up down for most of the game. Aer a couple of changes we started to sele but the heat got to us which saw us make some silly mistakes. All things we can work on at training. Congratulaons to all the girls for a well fought game and thanks to Tant for the pressure and clean game. Best players were Holly Awill who finally got to play a posion that she enjoys (Kaboom), Lily Foster who dug in deep and connued to dig deep and chase lose balls (McDonalds) and big congratulaons to Imogen for playing her 50 games and geng best player – I’m so proud of you ($5 donated by Janeway Family).

17 & Under: Good effort u17s, warm condions and an early rotaon with an unwell player made

it a tad difficult but I’m super proud of you all pushing through. Amazing defence Hayley and Eadie, really great touches and bodying up. Let’s bring it back to basics and get our fundamental skills on now, put the effort at training and we will see results on the court. Best players for not giving up in C goes to Alisha Cram (Arena) and her excellent voice with strong hands goes to Sophie Jones (Fasta Pasta).

B Reserve: It was a real tough game with the heat, however our girls played out of their skin and didn't give up once. We had a shaky first quarter but once we got in the groove it improved. Our mid court was outstanding with the pressure they put on and the amount of turnovers we got from that helped us immensely. Our shooters really fought for their rebounds and were hard on defence on turnovers. Players of the match went to Steph (WD – Bunnings Voucher) for her determinaon and adjusng to play, Marnee (C – Park Hotel) connued the pressure throughout the court and was always in the right place at the right me. Well done!

B Grade: It was a tough one on the court. It was hot, we started off a bit slow and struggled to pick up again in the heat, along with being down our usual rotaon so everyone had to just keep running it out. Big thank you and well done to Tahlia Vonstanke for stepping up in GA and to Abby Brant for coming on in the final quarter and both of you killing it for being thrown in, I am excited to keep working with you both and watch you grow and become key players in our side. Let’s keep fighng girls, these games aren't the outcome of our season, I know what we are made of and I know we will keep fighng. Best players Milla Buckingham (Birdie Blue), Courtney Hardacre (Mika Beauty).

A Reserve: A disappoinng loss! Kongorong started fierce, strong and scoring our own with addional turnovers. In the end, Tantanoola exceeded by a goal. Best players going to Courtney Sealey receiving an Arena Sports voucher and Kelsey Widdison receiving a Mango’s Clothing Bouque voucher

A big congratulaons to Ashlea Pfitzner who today plays her 150th senior game for Glencoe and Tameka Medhurst who plays her 150th club game. We wish you all the very best and look forward to seeing you connue to reach milestones in the maroon and gold!

Junior 2: What a big game we had. It was the first game that we had all eight players and so thank you to Isabella, Adele, Addison and Iva for having a quarter off today. Everyone played so hard all game and kept thinking about coming in front of their player and running onto the ball. These are things we will connue to work on at training before playing Kongorong in a fortnight. The girls in defence provided so much pressure and we were able to get lots of touches and turnovers from this. Our mid court players ran hard all game and kept trying but unfortunately, we couldn't get the ball into the goal circle very much. Hopefully we can next game and score some more goals! Best players went to Ruby Jaeschke and Malda Luke for two fabulous games full of effort. Well done girls!

Junior 1: A great game by everyone considering we didn't train during the week, beauful plays by everyone with great driving and defence by all. All the shooters had some great shots from high in the circle and the mid courters were doing great feeding. Defence you had to work very hard and you applied pressure all game. Again, you all listened to the feedback and you all adjusted your play and worked hard to make the changes. Best went to Paige you had a great first half in goals and went to the other end and got some great rebounds in defence, Encouragement went to Marlowe for building in confidence. Great game by all again!

13 & Under: Glencoe 54 defeated Tant 34. A fantasc game by everyone! All 8 players that hit the court played a fantasc team game under some great defensive pressure from Tant. Emma and Hallie started the game strongly in goals and Jas and Jaylee worked hard in the defensive circle geng lots of turnovers. We made some changes at half me which unseled us at the start of the third quarter but to our credit we seled into the new posions and ran the game out strongly. Emma shot well and earnt best player (Key 2 Sale), second best went to Lilly who ran strongly all game and Jas received the encouragement award for her fantasc defensive efforts (McDonalds).

15 & Under: Glencoe 52 defeated Tant 35. Great game by everyone! Tough game all over the court but everyone held their own and played part in the win. Defence were strong, holding ght at centre passes applying pressure paid off well. Goalies were moving well and holding the space allowing the centre court to feed in. Best players Layla Hawke, Ella Stewart encouragement award Ruby Buckley Thanks to Lily McGrath for benching.

opponent never giving up. Encouragement award: Ameile Cary for working hard at GK all game & great intercepts.

B Reserve: Glencoe 24 lost to Tant 62. Unfortunately we went down to a very tough Tant side. We had some very impressive patches of play but were no match for the speedy ball movement and accuracy of our opposion. We need to work on our defensive pressure right down the court as well as our second efforts. We need to want that ball a lile more and ensure that we are chasing every loose ball. Let's have a rest and come back strong! Best players were Caitlyn and Alarna for running all day, and being reliable opons.

B Grade: Bad luck girls. It was a very tough game and we came very close in the last quarter. Again we were missing some key players due to injury and hope to have our full team back out on the court in the next few weeks. We were slow off the mark and had an eight point deficit to overcome by half me. We really need to work on coming out strong and playing our own game from the first whistle so we don't need to play catch up. Bri and Bel worked well in the circle and really stepped it up in the second half, shoong well under some very physical pressure. Tant had a well structured aack line with very accurate shoong once the ball was in the goal ring which made it very tough for our defence. We came out strong in the last quarter and brought it back to even. If we can come out like that at the start of the game we will put ourselves in a much beer posion to win the game. Our defenders really stepped up in the second half geng plenty of the ball and shung down the drive into the ring for Tant. First best went to Isobel and second best to Giaan. Thank you to Alyce for filling in and running hard in centre, we hope we haven't scared you off! You provided fantasc guidance and great leads down the court. Thank you again to Lauren and Caitlyn for benching and Joyce for scoring. Let's work hard at training and come out firing from the first whistle!

A Reserve: Glencoe 59 defeated Tant 34. Finally, a win on the board! It's so good to be rewarded for the effort we've been pung in. The goalie work that was done at training was put in to acon and easily visible, well done Max and Alannah. But it really was a whole team effort that won the game. The whole court defensive pressure, all game, was fantasc. Zoe absolutely owned the wing defence posion, geng touches and turnovers all game. We sll have some work to do but the effort every single player put in for the full 4 quarters is something to really be proud of

Other items (milestones, social funcons etc):

A Grade: Well done girls. We showed that when we are all switched on and aacking the ball with confidence, we can play strong, compeve netball against a quality side. I can't fault anyone's efforts on court and was proud of our ability to adapt. We have some small things to clean up, but we connue to improve each week which is fantasc to see. Best players Jas McKinnon (The Commercial Hotel) and Rach Perry (Mango's). Imogen Vandepeer -

17 & Under: Glencoe 54 defeated Tant 45. Well done girls awesome win! We started strong which set us up for the rest of the game, each quarter we worked hard to score our own centre passes. Our mid court pressure again was ght with geng plenty of turnovers keep that up! Goalies Alyssa & Montana work well in the circle under very ght defence from Tant, Jena & Macca's work together making great choices when passing into the goalies. Sienna, Amelie & Emma worked hard all day in defence, never giving up. Such a great team win girls, I'm super proud of how you all played. Keep improving & more wins will come. Best players: McKayla Maney for her awesome driving, passing & intercepts. Montana Biggins: playing a solid 4 quarters on a strong

A Grade: Glencoe 71 defeated Tant 61. Great game girls and awesome to get another win on the board. Aer a bit of a sluggish game last me I was so pleased to see adjustments made in our aack end. We were far more paent with the ball and really cut down on our unforced errors. The movement in the goal circle was fantasc and we shot accurately and followed for any rebounds. Our drives down court and want for the ball was really strong. It was a tough game defensively with not a heap of reward for effort but we stuck to it as a unit and that really paid off for us in that final quarter. As a team we were composed coming out for the final quarter and didn't let our heads drop when the scoreline did come back. Let's keep this posive mindset and keep producing strong four quarter efforts. Very posive signs going forward. Best player went to Chantelle (O'Brien Electrical) for her strength under the post and second to Ashlea for her excellent feeding. Enjoy the bye week and lets come back strong again.

NETball club notes

This week, we journeyed to the Eagles' home ground under warm condions. I've got to menon again how much I'm loving our new uniform, especially now that the club socks have arrived.

Also, a friendly reminder about our upcoming Mother's Day raffle – make sure to sell and return your raffle books. Supporng our fundraisers ensures we can keep enhancing the club for everyone.

Junior 2: We played in the sunshine at Hatherligh. The girls did amazingly, considering the heat. Every week, we can see the skills we pracce at training being used during the games. The best players were Ariella Sophie and Kelsei.

Junior 1: What a game girls! We headed down to Hatherleigh, the weather was very much on our side! Our pressure in defence was amazing, chasing all loose balls, going up for all the rebounds and our passing has also improved. Once again lots of goals were scored in our aack end, using our circle to get the shots up. In our mid court we are learning to use our voices to guide the ball down the court and you girls are improving every game. Best players were Mia Moy Childs and Harper Cridland

13 & Under: Aer a few good games we really were not our usual selves last week. It was hot out there and we lacked some fitness. We did have some good glimpses, but we started to go back to old habits by going behind the player. We need to start in front no maer where the ball is just to make it easier on yourselves and not rely on height. What was really good to see is that we kept going even though you were all worn out and never gave up. Everything is a learning curve and things we can all improve on, so don't drop your heads we will get back on top this week. Pines Hotel went to Lucy and Maccas to Aubrey.

young ladies came out firing and put there all into the game. Unfortunately we struggled with the hot weather and the fast paced game, but we came together in the last quarter to have an even matched and scored quarter Hatherleigh played a very ght game and ulised every opportunity to come out on top.

B Reserve: Well done to Hatherleigh on a strong clean game. Nangwarry fought hard but couldn’t get over the line this me. Looking forward to meeng you all next me.

A Reserve: A great start to the game girls, we moved the ball around paently, found the best opon and allowed our goalies to do their thing. Shandeen adjusted well in GA and was able to use her strong body to drive in and score. Chrystal used her body well and provided plenty of opons. Tamara and Simone had a great game in the mid court and even though they haven’t played together in a few years it was hard to tell with them both providing numerous opons. The defence never gave up and had a few ght tussles. I hope the black eye is ok Krissy, you are having an amazing start to the season in a new posion and are more than capable of holding your own.

A Grade: Despite the tough game in warm condions, the improvement we displayed from the get-go was remarkable. Big shout out to Ebony for her performance in her first game of the season, and the teamwork between you and Shez in goals showed promising signs. Our defence worked relessly as usual, and Lacey's adaptability in a new posion aer two weeks in goals was commendable. It's clear our fitness needs some work, as fague led to errors later in the game. Let's keep up the training and incorporate some personal work to see even more improvement in the future. Great effort, team! Best players Sheridan Sakkers and Maddi Stephens. 15 & Under: In a beauful day down at Hatherleigh, these

A Grade: Robe 43 def by K'doo 51. A Grade was off to a cracking start, up by four goals in the 1st quarter. With intense pressure from our defence line & strong rebounds our aack line was sure to keep possession and score off of these turnovers. Into the second half, Emillie Gould went down & a change to the team had to be made, Ash Hunt showed composure in GA and Demi Carter going into defence. Robe made a few unseled errors, unfortunately going down by 8 goals at full me. The control & team dynamic really showed through the whole four quarters of this game, the girls should be proud. Calcua went to Lucy Perkins (Victoria Jaxon) and coaches award went to Emillie Gould (Oosons Real Estate).

A Reserve: Robe 35 def by K'doo 57.

A Res started with intensity and pressure. The defenders Jess and Libby worked hard in the circle, geng crical turnovers throughout the game. Kalangadoo moved the ball quickly down the court and showed accuracy in the goals. Our aacking line worked relessly to maintain possession of the ball, Alex and Skimmer having a ripper in the midcourt. Unfortunately, we didn't get the win - but it was a great, compeve game in the glorious Robe sunshine! Well done to two newbies Alex (Calcua – The Eighth Leer) and Jess (coaches award –Oosons Real Estate) for geng in the best!

B Grade: Robe 32 def by K'doo 59. What a game. If we had 1 more quarter, I think we would have got there! The score honestly did not reflect your game. A slow start and our own errors are what lost our game in the end. Emma really took ownership of her game and won the goal circle against tall defenders earning Calcua (The Eighth Leer). Defensive pressure was second to none across the whole court, but our Billie really worked hard to get clean intercepts and kept her cool gaining coaches award (Oosons Real Estate). It was a great fight to watch and I think you can all feel it starng to gel! Excited for the next few weeks.

B Reserve: Robe 30 def by K'doo 58. As a coach you ask your team to go out and give it everything they have. The ressie girls did just that. Walking off that court even though it wasn't with a win it was a proud moment. Defence as always were strong and worked hard all game. Mahalia came away with Calcua (The Eighth Leer) for her hard work in GD and GK. Coaches award went to Livvy (Oosons Real Estate). Special thanks to Georgie for playing up in goals to cover Jess who was out with injury

17 & Under: Robe 23 def by K'doo 61. The girls had a bit of a slow start, we'll blame the heat! What should have seen us get a nice lead to begin with due to a few errors by Kalangadoo actually saw us finishing the first quarter down by a few goals! The girls picked themselves up and rallied together to finish the remaining quarters strongly. I feel like the score wasn't a true representaon of the

girls efforts, who didn't drop their heads and finished with determinaon. Our best was Emily (Salubrious Hour) who swapped posions seamlessly at half me and created fabulous drive down the court. Coaches award went to our captain, Olivia (Denton Sportspower), who not only gave posive chat the whole game but worked hard all day to get lile touches! Things to work on moving forward but proud of the girls for their atudes!

15 & Under: Robe 31 def by K'doo 64. We knew going into the game it was going to be tough one, but the girls were ready to give it their all and that they did. We had our main goal shooter out which meant Tess, Makenzie and Kaitley had to step up sharing the role and all held their own working well with goalie Millie. Our defence certainly had their work cut out for them coming up against some brilliant and accurate shooters. Lindsey, Leni and Holly all working relessly in the heat geng some great intercepts unfortunately falling short in the end. Lindsey's strong game in defence earned her best player (Union Café) for the day and Tess being a great all rounder earned her coaches award (Naracoorte Sportspower).

13 & Under: Robe 4 def by K'doo 59. It was a difficult game, we were raled from the start but when we slowed down and played together as a team we got a few points on the board. We will work through a few things on Thursday to hopefully dy up passes and footwork and come out with another win this week. Zoe and Sassy played well in defence and earning best player (Robe Seafood & Takeaway) and coaches award (Denton Sportspower).

Junior 1: Another great game from our junior 1. At training we worked hard on our defence and using our footwork to defend our player Everyone put this into acon and I think everyone got at least one intercept each! It was a great defensive game with plenty of passion. Our creang space is geng so much beer, our transion into aack is what we'll be working on next. Incenve went to Kendall (Robe Netball Club) for working hard all game and creang numerous turnovers.

Junior 2: Junior 2s were faced with a more experienced and taller Kalangadoo side last week. Despite this, everyone put in a huge effort and focused on using their voices and freeing up court space while in aack. The girls enjoyed playing a range of posions and learning where they can and can't go on the court. They are connuously leaning new skills during the games and it's great to see how hard they work each me they play Charloe, in her first week back, played some aggressive defence and earned the incenve award. Malda who read the ball well in defence and made plenty of intercepts, also earned the coaches award (Robe Netball Club). Well done girls.

Junior 2: The Junior 2s had a gripping & challenging game against Mount Burr. Right from the start the game was fast paced & compeve, our girls showed great determinaon, we just have to remember to stay posive when the game isn't going our way. In the final quarter, the girls gained back their spirit and finished the game with fantasc team work and passion. As always, we're so proud of how well the girls are going and they take everything on board, always listening and adapng to the opposion. Thank you to Donut King & Subway for donang the encouragement awards, and congratulaons to Pippa Lewis & Sophie McRose for receiving those awards.

17 & Under: Mount Burr 61 defeated Port MacDonnell 40. Round four saw the bay girls come back as excited as ever aer a week off with the bye. We knew we were in for a tough game, facing up against the defending premiers, Mount Burr. Our girls hit the ground running, geng up early in the first, goalies Lilly and Chloe Day converng efficiently on any opportunies our defence sent their way. Bella McLean was once again strong from WA, her leads med perfectly and combining well with Sophie Lewis through the middle to bring the ball into our offence with poise. Alicetyn Stanley's footwork at GK combined with Bree Ridding's pace and agility meant that the bay girls could maintain their lead at the halime break. The third quarter saw Lillie Lamb and birthday girl Jasmine Morgan check into the game, both making an impact in their posions. Some unforced errors and concentraon lapses on our behalf saw the hungry Mt Burr side push ahead in the third quarter, our girls faced with a significant deficit to claw back in the final term. Ruby Moody was put back to GK to finish the game

where she worked relessly to silence the Mt Burr goalies. At the end of the game, Mt Burr finished with the win, the Burr's lead too much for our girls to turn around. A valiant effort by all our girls will see us head back to the drawing board, ready to take on a tough Hatherleigh side next week. Awards: Lilly Day - Donut King, Chloe Day - Bakers Delight.

B Reserve: Mount Burr 16 defeated by Port MacDonnell 63. Thank you to our team sponsors, Illuminaon Dance, and Diverse Concrete. Great game, with some great movement in the circle using any combinaon. Wonderful passing through midcourt and into the circle. We were also able to apply a ght defence with a diverse combinaon of defensive players. It's really wonderful. Thank you to Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro & Birdie Blue for our player awards, which went out to Fiona & Ainsley

B Grade: Mount Burr 42 defeated Port MacDonnell 37. Disappoinng game last week, a lot of silly errors all over the court. We need to treasure our turnovers, and score our centre passes. We did have a great come back in the last quarter and pulled things together, which shows we have it in us. Let's go up from here and push through these next hard games. Best players: Chloe Newton (Shipwreck Bistro, Victoria Hotel), Mackenzie Millard (Birdie Blue).

A Reserve: Mount Burr 33 defeated by Port MacDonnell 49. What a great win to have aer our bye weekend. We did make hard work of it but everyone played clean and hard netball to get the win over the line. Our defensive end created many turn overs and worked really well together, not a combinaon that they are used to. Bailee stepped up and played a full game in WD/C and was able to slow down the passages of play and create pressure for Lara and Shan to create those turnovers. Layla made her A Res debut and did a great effort in defence. Our aack line is starng to gel more and having all of the right ideas, just needing to work on our execuon. Brooke shot and moved extremely well in the goal circle. Best players: Lara Wilson (Taylormade), Brooke Williams (Shipwreck Bistro, Victoria Hotel).

A Grade: Mount Burr 32 defeated Port MacDonnell 29. We had a great start to the game with everyone giving 100%, with Kori holding well in the goal circle and we had some great feeding from the outside. Our defence once again worked overme, ensuring they got many rebounds and brought the ball down the court into our aacking end. Alysha drove hard all game and never gave up, having a crack at absolutely everything. Some silly errors and passing choices cost us the game in the end, which was really disappoinng seeing we held the lead all game. We need to get our on-court talk and encouragement up and really get behind each other as a team. Best players: Alysha Coon, sponsored by Australian Coastal Shipping (Victoria Hotel Voucher); Emily Thompson, sponsored by Lima and Co (Voucher Lima and Co).

I was happy to see girls using their front cuts in aack to get prime posion on the goal circle. Our defensive pressure all down the court was fantasc, resulng in lots of touches and turnovers. Our blocking was strong to keep their goalies out of the circle, and our defenders consistently took clean, two-handed intercepts. We showed fight and aggression when chasing down loose balls and we repeatedly came out with the ball from the contest. Even aer trying some new combinaons in the second half we kept control of the game and kept the scoreboard cking over. Great job girls! Awards: Since Fiy Six - Olivia Bellinger, HLC - Zoe Moore.

It was great to see Leit seng some goals for our team and keeping everyone really

posive - we nearly got there! Amy, Demi and Nic worked the ball to the circle edge and created some great space for our goalies. We welcomed back Ella from holidays and together with Fe and Ellen they challenged every ball and maintained discipline to gain many touches and intercepts. Demi connued to have paence around the circle and fed our goalies with ease. Maddie chased loose balls and worked hard to drive the ball down the court in WD Well done to our defence who kept them at 7 for the enre second half - you set the goal and worked endlessly to achieve it. Georgia provided great drive and voice, and Sarah took some spectacular intercepts - seemingly coming out of nowhere to cleanly grab the ball. Kaz applied great pressure, stopping the drive of her player and geng lots of touchs. She was well supported by Ellie at WA who was a consistent opon at the C pass, posioned strongly on the circle and med her drives at the ball with precision. Eliza brought her A game - regularly neng the long bombmuch to the supporters delight! There was no need to fear if she missed as Liv was posioned perfectly to get the rebound every me and shot with accuracy. A couple of mes we rushed the turnover and had to work hard to get it back, but never did we drop the intensity. The defensive pressure applied the whole way down the court was fantasc, and it paid off! Well done on a great team game! Final score 75-18. Port Mac’s GA Cody Manning moved the ball well around the ring with Pt Macs C A Coon and WA K Feint to gain opmal scoring posion converng the next couple of goals. Mt Burr junior Abby Falng was holding space strong against Port Mac’s Kate Feint. Easterby (WA) and Schultz (C) held their posion strong on the ring enabling Danika and Madi the ability to pass the ball around to get the best posion under the ring. Both Mt Burr and Pt Mac creang lots of defensive turnovers this quarter. Mt Burr 14 – Pt Mac 15

Third quarter started with fresh legs for Mt Burr with Chloe Newton coming on in WD and giving Abbey Falng a rest. Paence passing and moving the ball around in and out of the Mr Burr’s goal circle ended up with Danika converng a long shot to break Pt Macs centre pass. Port Mac’s GA Manning scoring close shots aer posioning in front and passing out to Coon to gain closer posion under the goal ring. Port Mac’s GS Collins consistently using her body to posion herself for the pass into the ring against a ght defence of Dean and Theile. Port Mac’s WD Megan Hein’s height and poise at the centre third line saw the aack line ulise her for the passes back enabling the aack line to reset and reposion on many occasions. Pt Mac capitalising on missed shots from Mt Burr gaining a 3-goal break. Mt Burr defenders Theile and Dean worked together to gain many mely intercepts for Newton, Schultz and Easterby to move the ball down the court for Shepherd and Hagge to convert. Pt Mac’s

defenders in Berkfield and Thompson put pressure on the Mt Bu goalies and rarely causing an infringement. Mt Burr 23 – Pt Mac 23.

Going into the last term both teams scoring from their first centre pass. Mount Burr gained posion from a Port Mac’s centre, Madi Hagge was unable to convert and Pt Mac’s Thompson rebounding strong and sending the ball down court with Collins converng for Pt Mac. Mt Burrs Megan Theile determinaon and speed saw her chase a loose ball in Pt Mac’s aack line to see Mt Burr break the first Pt Mac centre pass for the quarter. Mount Burr followed with scoring the next 3 goals. Megan Theile again and again got her hands to many loose balls and intercepts to send the ball down court to Newton, Easterby and Schulz. Port Mac’s Collins and Manning worked hard to make front posion but failed to convert for Pt Mac. Mt Burr’s Ella Easterby and Pt Mac’s Megan Hein both determined for the ball saw Ella hit the ground hard late in the last term. It was a close tussle all game with Mt Burr breaking Pt Mac’s centre early in the last quarter Converng 3 goals to take the lead and held on to this lead unl the final whistle. Mt Burr 32 Pt Mac 29.

Robe v Kalangadoo

1st Quarter - Both teams Robe and Kalangadoo hit the court with determinaon. Kalangadoo showed consistency within their centre court and goal circle from the get go. Increasing pressure from Emillie Gould and Kimberley Ausn created pressure towards Kalangadoo goalies Abbey Duncan and Ebony McDiarmid, allowing Robe goalies Sarah Laurie and Demi Carter to capitalise on turn overs. The finale of the the first quarter saw a taccal change between Jade Peacock and Jane Auld, Jane heading into C in the final seconds of the quarter With increased intensity, Demi Carter was able to finish a long shot to put Robe ahead by 3 goals in the first quarter. Score ended at 9 to 12.

2nd Quarter - Another tense quarter on court with Kalangadoo showing increased defensive pressure down court. Lauren Kain going into GD, with Georgia Genle moving out to WD forcing longer passes between Robe’s mid-court. Aer a number of rebounds from Emillie Gould with all her grit, she went hard down on her shoulder, forcing her out of the end of the second quarter. This saw a change with Ashlee Wachtel into GA and Demi Carter into GD. Half me score 24 Kalangadoo to 21 Robe.

3rd Quarter - Sustained energy from both Kalangadoo and Robe had the ball firing, with many second efforts by all players. Sophie Bates transioned into C, with Annie Regnier into WD Both teams maintained possession of their ball and were able to keep their scores high. WA players, Lucy Perkins and Jane Auld, ulised key drives for both of their teams, transioning the ball seamlessly down the court. Three quarter me was yet again ght with 34 Kalangadoo to Robe 33.

4th Quarter - In the final quarter, Kalangadoo were able to keep a steady pace on their game, with second efforts giving them the upper hand. Precision from Kalangadoo goalies gave Robe fewer opportunies to score, with increased unforced errors. Annie Regnier transioned back into C, working well with Lucy Perkins to create new passages of play. However, when aacking, Kalangadoo Jayde Peacock held possession with lile room for error. Final score was Kalangadoo 51 to Robe 43. Best players - Kalangadoo: Jayde Peacock & Jane Auld; Robe - Lucy Perkins & Emillie Gould.

Hatherleigh v Nangwarry

Both teams started strongly, in what started out as a fairly even game on a warm day. Hatherleigh’s Demi Vanderhorst (GS) and Bree Harris (GA) were finding space and moving well within the circle, while Nangwarry’s Kayla Gray (GK) whose height was proving to be a headache was rebounding strongly, snapping up any missed shots. It didn’t feel like the score line was a fair indicaon of the play throughout the quarter with Hatherleigh in front 14-6 at the quarter me break.

The second quarter saw no changes to either side, Hatherleigh GK Elly Redden intercepted a loose ball on Nangwarry’s first centre pass of the quarter sending the ball back into Hatherleigh’s aack line Tegan Telfer (WA) and Kalli Nele (C) were using their speed, working the circle edge to feed the ball into Harris (GS) who was on fire early shoong five from five, the defensive pressure of Lara MacGregor (GD) and Elly Redden (GK) intensified, forcing the Nangwarry midcourt of Stephens and Alice Circelli (C) to start pung the ball in high to the Nangwarry shooters Sheridan Sakkers and Ebony Wurst.

The Eagles managed to increase their lead 25-11 into the main break. Nangwarry stuck with their starng seven heading into the third quarter, Hatherleigh brought young gun Niah Faulkner into the C, Redden to WD, Owen to GK and swapped Harris to GA and Vanderhorst to GS with Nele heading to the bench for a well earned rest.

Hatherleigh’s Chelsea Owen was working overme in defence, geng her fingerps to plenty and causing turnovers in favour of her team in what would be her strongest game since joining the eagles. The Nangwarry mid-court stepped up their pressure and were working hard to transion the ball from end-to-end but the Hatherleigh’s goalies had started to find range and piled on 14 goals to Nangwarry’s 2.

The final quarter Hatherleigh made more changes with Harris to C, Faulkner to WD and Nele back on into GA, to Nangwarry’s credit all seven players connued to work hard and contest the ball but the defensive pressure from the Eagles led by Telfer and MacGregor saw them take the win 51-15.
