250agrade games

braydn reilly tantanoola football club

Braydn Reilly will today run out for his 250th A Grade game in the home game against Nangwarry

A lifelong Tiger 'Reilz' started playing as a Junior Colt in the early 2000s. He progressed through the grades and in 2006 he was a part of the victorious senior colts premiership team a year in which he won the Tantanoola Football Club and League leading goal kicker. He also got his first taste of senior footy under then coach Adam Walden. In 2007 he was again the senior colts Leading Goal kicker and was a part of the A Grade losing grand final team against Glencoe

His best footy was in front of him and over the next decade he was to play some very consistent footy with numerous honours which include:

- 2008 A Grade Most Improved

- 2009 & 2010 A Grade Best Team Man

- 2013 A Grade Coaches Trophy

- 2014 A Grade Most Consistent

- 2017 A Grade Best Ulity

- 2018 A Grade Most Consistent and John Rogers Anzac Day Medal for Best on Ground against Kongorong

- 2019 Neil Von Duve Memorial A Grade Best Team Man

- 2023 Bill James Memorial Most Courageous

Braydn is an ultra consistent player always taking on the big tasks and oen plays on much bigger opponents but loves the challenge and always puts the team’s interests before his own

Like an old bole of wine he keeps geng beer with age and over the last few years has played some of his best football. Last year Braydn was awarded Tantanoola Football Club Player Life Membership when he achieved 250 senior games.

Supported by his wife Kath and daughters Bella and Ruby, Braydn will today be eligible for League Life Membership with 250 A Grade games next to his name

The Tantanoola Football Club wishes Braydn all the best in today’s game and hopes there are sll a few more le in the old body

Dane Paproth will today play his 200th Senior game for Glencoe when he runs out in the B Grade

He came out of rerement this year to help out with the coaching and mentoring of our B Grade players. Dane or “Dorpa” as he is affeconately known, started with the Murphy Junior Colts in 2000, progressing through the Senior Colts captaining this team in 2006. He made his A Grade debut the same year in 2006. He has played mostly in the ruck and has also spent me as a tall marking forward who has a sure pair of hands and an accurate kick.

Aer spending the 2012 season away working in Darwin, Dane returned to Glencoe the following season and had one of his best seasons playing up forward boong 37 goals in the A Grade

He is a fantasc club person helping around the club and his family business has been a long term major sponsor of his beloved Murphies.

All at Glencoe congratulate Dane on his milestone and wish him the very best for today and the rest of the season

matt jaeschke

glencoe football club

Today the Glencoe Football Club recognises the achievement of Ma Jaeschke who finally reaches his 200th Senior game for the club

Aer only playing a handful of games in the past couple of seasons, Jezza put his hand up to help out when short of players in the Ressies. He is a past captain of the B Grade, playing mainly in defence. He has been a reliable defender but like most backmen, loves to go forward if given the opportunity

Jezza is a great club person and is one of the club’s leading volunteers using his tradie skills to carry out work around the club. He is a current commiee member and is also carrying out the runners role in the A Grade this year

Jezza is one of the most popular people at the club so everyone from the Glencoe Football Club congratulates him on his milestone game and thanks him for his dedicaon over many years

anthony lipscombe glencoe football club

The Glencoe Football Club would like to congratulate Anthony Lipscombe who is playing his 50th Senior game for the Murphy’s today.

Bruizer first played Junior Colts for the club in 2012 progressing though the Senior Colts to play senior grade football. He played his first senior game in the Reserves in 2017 and has consistently made himself available for selecon every week

Bruiser is a regular on the training track and is a valuable member of the club. A highlight for him was his great goal that he kicked in last week’s Reserves match.

We wish Anthony all the best for his milestone game and hope to see him at the Murphy’s for many years to come

ROBE ROOSTERS

football club notes

Junior Colts: Well, what a difference a week makes! We had a lot of disappointed boys aer our last game. They knew that they had let themselves down. With a good week on the track, and a focus on 'personal pride' and 'team things'; our young Roosters played a good brand of football for all 4 quarters. Every player 'stood up' and contributed when they needed to. We finally played the style of game that we have praccing. Aer a good first quarter, every player connued to compete at every contest, apply pressure, stay disciplined, be accountable, and be confident in their ability to get the footy. This produced a great 4 quarter performance. They have now set a standard, that has to be maintained, especially when we are playing teams above us on the 'ladder'. It was really good that we shared the ball around, resulng in 7 goal scorers. Players considered to be our beer performers were Bryon, Conrad, Dylan, Jacob 'Boodah' Parker, Jacob Mules, and Eli Jess. Now to this week; anything less than a performance like last week, will not be good enough. I really believe you guys are up to it. Give it your best shot. Have a 'red hot' go!

Reserves: Another good week for the Robe Ressies, beauful weather and a solid 4 quarter effort. Aer some sff opposion in the first quarter the boys took control and played good team footy. 7 goalkickers in all, with Jaryd Dawson bagging 7 and giving off just as many. Picking best players was a tough job, the

old boys did a great job at both ends of the ground and in the middle. The young fellas got more me in different posions and relished their opportunies. Koki's best Flynn Peel, Jed Regnier, Jayden Campbell, Kane Cross, Ollie Benne. Big few weeks ahead of us starng today with Pt Mac, good luck to all.

A Grade: What a fantasc day it turned out to be at Nangwarry. The weather and oval condions were magnificent. You could call the first quarter a draw, but from then on the game was all on Robe’s terms. The second and fourth quarters being the highlights kicking 8 each to the Mt Gambier end. Kaden Woody played a blinder and snagged 3 goals as well. The Dinning Dunn brothers also played a fantasc 4 quarters, geng the ball forward mulple mes. Smithy got back on the board with a good haul of 8, and Jed and Joely chimed in with 4 each. Jordan H and Jordan P also played great games of the half back line. We host the other seaside town this weekend so get to the Robe oval to watch what should be a cracking game.

PORT MACDONNELL DEMONS

B Grade: Port MacDonnell 2.4 lost to Hatherleigh 14.14. The sun was shining (making it very hot in the TKBox!), the grass was green, and the wind was almost nonexistent except for a cooling Sou' Easterly… and with such magnificent fishing weather we went out looking for Barrel Tuna….. aaand came home with Whitebait! Like any good fisho knows it's all in your preparaon (training) and how good your gear is kept! (fitness!.... and literally “how good” your footy gear is kept!!) Shout out to all the mums who take care of that mundane chore like washing and drying footy shorts, socks and guernseys (and making sure there is an extra pair of jocks just in case you have to go to hospital). While the game le us looking a lile like a fish le in the sun, there were some determined passages of play that nearly had us in the game. Tom Sullivan worked the centre and backline like he was fighng for Marlin earning the BOG in the process. Rohan Povey need the flanks with ease alongside Bradley Neale taking 2nd and 3rd respecvely. It was good to see Joel NA Anderson back on the ground trolling across the CHB and CHF lines while Rory and Isaac “The Narass Maress” smothered and blocked a number of the Hatherleigh advances midfield. Rory also took on most of the ruck work earning him the 5th spot and 6th went to Aidan Telford who caught a few by surprise, stepping in at the right moment to snap the Eagles advance line. Like a Coffin Bay oyster the only “pearls” (goals) we saw were one each from Alex Lamb and Bradley Neale whose grit and determinaon saw them break through the ght Hatherleigh defence. Thanks again to Senior Colts Kelighe O'Flaherty, Will Cameron, Je Lewis and Koby Stratman for crewing with the Ressies and welcome to Riley Raynor and Daniel Chrisan... hope it wasn't too “rougha weather” and you'll come out fishing with us again! We road trip

to our seaside brethren at Robe next… lets see if we can put a fox amongst the Roosters! Go Demons!

A Grade: Port MacDonnell 11.3 lost to Hatherleigh 18.17. What another glorious day in The Bay! The sun was shining, and the ground hosted another sizeable crowd here in the “Family League”. It's great to see so many spectators enjoying the junior sides and plenty of youngsters coming out for the AusKick minis. This is 'grass roots' footy at its best. While the scoreboard didn't reflect the right outcome, it was an acon-packed game that up unl three quarter me could have gone our way. It was a lapse in the 4th quarter that le us open and the Eagles took full advantage. Riley Morgan won BOG with a great performance in the back lines and his tremendous work ethic across the centre constantly pushing the ball forward. Ever reliable players Will Macdonald and Ned Wilke showed familiar consistency winning 2nd and 3rd respecvely while Josh Woodall, Colby Munro and Tim Sullivan rounded out the best player list. Honorable menons go to our courageous backline Kyall McClean, Zack Williams and Jake Schleter whose efforts slowed the Eagle barrage during the last half. Again, our younger players stepped up with Snr Colt Harry Carroll playing his first A grade game, and with Archie New, showed that there is some excing player depth coming through in the next few years. Despite being tagged Tim Sullivan once again proved what a force he is bagging 4 goals, while Alex Ridding added 2 more to his list along with Colby Munro. Ethan Gladman, Ned Wilke, and Will Macdonald also sloed one each. We now travel to Robe and another hard game against a topnotch competor so let's correct the mistakes made and bring home the gold. As always… train hard to play hard! Go Demons!

football club notes seniors

A Grade: Port Mac down on their home turf we knew it was going to be a solid hit out from the start. They come out firing in the first half of the game with us leading by 1 goal at the main break. The second half was our best team game we have played for the year with all players working together and moving the ball towards are scoring end skilfully. The likes of Paddy Chay kicking 6 goals in the last half and Sauce Brown kicking 4 majors contributed to us geng a good lead on Port Mac. Also starng all our ball movement up the ground was Reidy with a best on ground performance. Reidy gave us lots of run and good decision making which then let into us pung good score board pressure on. Another great job by the boys.

senior colts

B Grade: Well the nice weather connues, so does the red hot form for the brumbies. Great start to the season from the group, really playing some aracve football at the moment, I think it's our younger brigade that excites me most as a coach. We knew Saturday was going to be a tough task down at Port Mac, we finally broke the game open and got our skills and goal kicking on track running away 82 point winners. Jack Marino had a great day off half back and running through the middle. Towball Merre kicked 5, Riley Shanks played another great game in defence across half back. Bre Watson had his head down all day in the middle alongside cocaptain son of a gun Rayson. Another great day of football this week against the Burr, also our sponsors day always a great day.

Senior Colts: Headed down to Pt Mac up against another quality side. The boys started hot kicking 3 unanswered goals in the first quarter. Then it went on to be a good game but sadly going down by around 20 points again. There is a lot to be happy about from

the day sll and the boys are only losing these games by a few goals so that's a posive. Best players for the day went to, first best the Dentons Sportspower award went to Jordy Acky. 2nd best the Stumpy award went to Huddy Nowak. 3rd the Gino's pizza award went to Brayden Chambers. 4th best the ladies commiee award went to Oskar Howell. 5th best the Pete Walter's award went to Riley Prouse. Sll more to improve on as we go onto a top of the table team in Mt Burr

Junior Colts: Aer a long & foggy drive down the coast to Port Mac the clouds lied and we were greeted with another beauful day for footy. But our boys were sll in the fog during the first quarter and let the Port Mac boys jump them to put 4 goals on the board. To our credit we evened up the contest and managed to keep them goal less aer that. In what was an excing finish we couldn't quite capitalise on possession and Port Mac held on to win a closely fought match. Despite the loss it was pleasing to see us turn the momentum and get more compeve. Patrick McGrath was excellent in the ruck all day and was especially strong in the last quarter where he provided plenty of drive forward. Henry Bowering knuckled down in the second half and did the hard team things in the midfield. Caine Ballantyne may not have got lots of kicks but his tackling and physical pressure up forward was important. Billy Bowering and Paddy Fitzgerald really ghtened up in the second half at half back to stop the scoring but also launch aacks. Tait Gregec was also important up forward with great forward pressure & kicked 2 goals. The first loss for the season will give us lessons to work on and we look forward to this week’s home game.

Junior Colts: The junior colts had a slow start last game against a strong Port Mac team. Aer the first half we turned this around and won the 3rd and 4th quarters. The surge was led by Reed as he showed aggression and hunger for the ball late in the second. Jackson had his best game with great ball skills around the ground. Mostyn has been a hero in the backline, stopping a multude of goals and clearing the ball. Thank you to the Port Mac boys who came across and gave it everything while they played for us.

Senior Colts: Senior colts was a fantasc game of football between 2 very evenly matched teams with the Burr boys coming away with a hard fought win in the end. Great team effort with everyone contribung to the win. Looking forward to the bye before we head to Hatherleigh to face our cross-town rivals.

B Grade: Perfect condions greeted us at home when we arrived, ready to make up for a poor result in our last game. It was great to see Liam Whiy back out at the Burr playing his first game for us in a number of seasons. Senior debuts also went to Bradlee Lawson and Arley Rigney. From the start of the game it was obvious we were more switched on and our pressure was great across the whole ground. Rhys Gamble was winning plenty of the ball and bringing in his teammates. When Harry Corman kicked a 55m torpedo goal, it helped us take a 7 goal to 1 lead into the major break. To Port Mac’s credit they had a stronger third quarter and the margin didn’t change a lot in the second half as our running

game slowed down a bit. Tommy Hales was the pick of the forwards with 5 goals. Best players were very hard to pick with Rhys, DJ, Liam, Bradlee, Brock & George selected. It was great to get a win up but there is plenty more work to be done over the next few weeks as we have tough games coming up aer the bye.

A Grade: Once again, it was great condions for footy at Mt Burr. A highly physical and contested first half saw both teams win their fair share of the ball which gave both ends forwards opportunies to score. Our back six held up strong and worked well together and won plenty of crucial contests which allowed us to rebound the footy. Big Murph was compeng well in the middle and winning his fair share of the ball around the ground as well. Swag looked dangerous up forward making the most of his opportunies. It’s pleasing to see our movement and leading paerns improving each week. Super proud of the group for grinding out another hard fought win.

football club notes seniors

We welcome Kalangadoo today, which is a big week with two icons playing 200 senior games for the club. Dane Paproth has been a big contributor on and off the field for many years. Aer a year or two out he has popped back into the Ressies to help mentor some of the kids and help Pie in his coaching role, we wish him well today. The other hing his milestone is Mahew 'Gary Able' Jaeschke. Ma has been a very commied club man for many years and also stepped back into footy this year to help the younger guys. His career highlight is playing more A grade games than Ted.

Congratulaons to Anthony Lipscombe, 50 senior games today, well done Bruiser and take it easy in your favourite tournament tonight.

Round 5 saw us at Kongorong, Amanda and her team piled on the beauful autumn weather, just perfect for football. A great result for the club with four from four wins.

Under 11: The young Murphies took on the Hawks on a reasonably chilly morning with the boys connually improving with a number of goals kicked and a large number of parents and siblings watching.

Junior Colts: Haasy’s Junior Colts came up against a relavely big Kongorong team. The first quarter was a struggle with a lot of missed shots on goal and messing around with the footy a bit. Aer that we controlled the game and it was great to see a number of new faces kicking goals. Hamish was back into the line up with his new haircut and he dominated from the midfield all day once again sharing the ball around as much as possible, he was awarded BOG and kicked two goals himself. Max J also played a great game, new recruit Sam M provided a spark and kicked a couple of goals earning him third best. Aer that was Harley who's in hot form at the moment and Harrison X rounded the best out.

Senior Colts: Our undefeated senior colts connued their winning ways with the voice ecstac before the game we thought they were going to be hot from the start. Kongorong's pressure was excellent early, causing a heap of congeson. As the game went on the boys opened it up and scored freely at mes. Goal kickers were Dan F who kicked 5, Brodie P with 4 and Max W kicking 3 on limited minutes. Best players were Kallan Price who ran and hunted all day, Tighe Hurley who ran amuck, Jed Sinkunas who's in great form, Les Jaggar providing run and carry all day

Reserves: A number of changes for Pie last week with a few ins and outs. It was an even tussle to start the game with Bater here there and everywhere. New player to the club Dylan 'Glue Pot' Golding geng the crowd up and about kicking his first goals for us. Pleasingly we ran away with a convincing 40 point victory. Best was Bater, James K, Isaac S, Dane P and Trent H. A huge shout out to the young colts for connually stepping up and gaining valuable senior football experience.

Seniors: The Seniors had great intent last week, heading to Kongorong it was warm and fitness was going to play a pivotal part in the outcome. Similar to last game lacking first half kept the arm tussle going for longer than we liked. Reece was keen to see the result put to bed in the third and the boys responded. The backline ghtened up and restricted them to 3 goals aer half me. Big Alex and Tory combined for 12 majors and were hard to curtail their influence. Our captain Dylan C led from the front with best on ground. Followed by Zacc C, Alex H up forward, Will Maloney on the half back, Henry Smith controlling the ruck bale and Sam Giersch down back.

The Max 'Spud' Mahews Cup is up for grabs today, go Glencoe.

Special day for the club with plenty of celebraons to be had as we welcomed past players, sponsors and the 2014 A Grade reunion all at the same me. A huge shout out to all sponsors who contribute towards the club and to see so many past players even with a couple of them running around in the 2's for old me's sake. Days like this create a real posive atmosphere around the club with plenty of laughs and BS stories told.

Thanks goes to our Junior Game Day Sponsors Autocare Mt Gambier, Rarcoola Structural, The Rocks Shop, MT Wheels & 3MP as game day sponsors and weekly award sponsors in – The Roadhouse, Country Atude, Spot On, Bunnings, Aussie Disposals, Sorrentos, OK Pie Shop, KD's Deli, Intersport, Doughnut King, Wendy's, McDonalds, Compton Street Bakers Delight & Boost Juice and Killara Food Court sponsoring our weekly Junior Club Encouragement award.

Under 11: Reevsey took the reigns of our youngest footballers and once again they all put on a show for all that made it out to watch. With each passing week the skills are developing with game play and teamwork really building and coming through. A huge thank you to our game day award sponsors in Wendys, McDonalds, Doughnut King & Compton Street Bakers Delight but there were too many good players to pick from as all played well.

Junior Colts: Aer a tough win against Robe the week before Macca was looking for a repeat effort and register a couple in a row. The young Maggies held Tant scoreless in the 1st and only allowed the single solitary point in the 2nd while kicking 3.3 in the same me. The effort was there across the ground and could see confidence & belief building within the side as the game went on. The 3rd was a very ght affair with the young Maggies kicking the only score for the qtr with a goal and holding a 26 point lead at the final break. Macca urged to finish the game off, and they managed to hold Tant goalless while kicking another major to record a strong 35 point win. Best players went to Lachy – Spot On, Nathaniel – Bunnings, Koby – OK Pie Shop, Frank – Bakers Delight, Natalia –Coaches Award and Jakobe BarryKillara Food court encouragement award.

Senior Colts: With half a dozen Burr boys on loan and Cooper on loan for the weekend it was game on in the senior colts. The boys were up and

about early with the boys playing their best qtr of footy for the year kicking 4 goals to 3. From there, the Tigers got their game going and providing forwards plenty of clearances, but our lads enjoyed having numbers on the ground and managed 12 goals for the game and kept the margin to a respectable 35 points. Best players went to Nater – Road House, Cambell Hately on loan from the Burr – Country Atude, Levi Thiele – KD's Deli, Lachy McCann – OK Pie Shop, Deklan Brant –Aussie Disposals and Jack NewtonKillara Food court encouragement award.

Reserves: With a few out & unavailable it was a different looking side for Auldy last week and called on a couple of past legends in Case & Killer to pull the boots on for a one-off game. Scores were ght for the 1st half as neither side could break away. In the second half, the Maggies managed to open the game up and break the Tant spirit as kicked away to record a strong 47 point win in front of a growing crowd. Best players went to Redders, Alex Carter Killer, Dallas, Brad & Gussy.

Seniors: Having so many past players at the game it was a chance for the senior group to get their season kick started against the Tigers and Lynsey urged the group to be brave and take on the game over the 4 qtrs. The 1st half was a very even bale with the game ebbing and flowing for both sides as the looked to sele into the game. The pressure around the ball carrier was there and you could see things were starng to click for the Maggies as they took a narrow margin of 15 point lead into the half me break. Over the last few games our 3rd qtrs have been slow out of the blocks but the guys were up for it and ready to go early on. We started winning the more of the clearances and proving quality services to our forwards who were able to finish off with a 6 goal to 3 quarter held a 35 point lead at the final break. With the younger group in Connor, Kai & Nater holding up it allowed the experience & quality of the midfield group to really push hard in the last quarter and with Connor finish off well and 7 majors for the day while the back line held the Tigers to a single solitary goal in the last the Maggies ended up running away with a comfortable 63 point win. Best players went to Dyl, Connor, Lachy, Gregsy, Manes & Toota. Next up we head down the road to take on the Murphies in what is always a tough entertaining game of footy for the Max Mahews Cup.

Under 11: With the kids in keen as ever to get back on the field we headed to Kalangadoo, both teams were very strong which made it a great game to watch. Best player went to a new kid who came from Adelaide, Albi, but everyone did a fantasc job, they are all stars.

Junior Colts: Last week the boys travelled to play the Magpies on the home turf, the lads started slow and struggled to find the footy against a well drilled Kalangadoo side and in the end couldn't really find our rhythm and in the end going down by five goals. Not the result we were hoping for but we sll fought to the very end. Best players were Charlie Bromley, Eli Grant, Jaxon Long, Harvey Vanderheul, Kaiden Shawyer and Kobe Bromley

Senior Colts: Coming of a disappoinng loss our boys hit the track hard during the week and were keen for a big game. Yet again a slow start saw Kalangadoo kick a couple early but aer about 10 minutes we switched on and started playing our brand of football. With only a couple goals in it at half me we put our foots down in the third and got out to a 30 point lead. A late fight from K’doo got it back within a couple goals but our boys knuckled down and got the win by 35 points. Goal kickers where Jake Bevan with 7, Ryan Long with 5, Brayden Rowe and Ash Foulds with 2. Best players

were Ash Foulds, Marshall Clark, Ryan Long, Jake Bevan, Brayden Rowe and Braydn Hateley

Reserves: Last week in the B grade we travelled to Kalangadoo, we had excellent condions for footy. Kalangadoo had a handful of past player fill in from their 2014 reunion and those boys have aged but sll got it on the field. We had a real crack in the first half with the boys playing the style of play we have been talking about using our run and pace to break the lines and transion through the midfield. Once we got into the forward line we used the ball well to find targets and we got a few goals. The second half was a different story we lost our runoff half back and started to turn the ball over which Kalangadoo took full advantage of and piled on a few goals in the last quarter to make the score not reflect the boys efforts. Overall we are improving we just need to sck together. Minky led from the front with 2 and our best were Bundy, Blake, Zane, Ma Nels and Corey

A Grade: Last week we played Kalangadoo in very warm condions. We started really well moving the ball the way we want and being dominate in our transion from one end to the other. At half me to only be a couple goals down was really promising considering our young side. Again for 10 minutes we started well kicking a few goals but unfortunately Kalangadoo's experience and execuon slowly got on top which was hard to stop. Each week we are learning and scking to our guns never giving up and always playing a posive brand of football. Keep at it boys! Best players: Troy Ha, Brandon Pis, Hayden Brown, Jack Cytrowski.

In perfect condions for the spectators, definitely not the players, it may have been a lile warm we welcomed Robe. Robe are quite the strong ouit across all grades but we managed to get 1 win on the day and that was in the Senior Colts. The Senior Colts skill development and team work is growing and impressive to watch and well worth the admission and early start to watch our future champions strut their stuff. If you ever get the chance, I urge you to get out and watch Griggy and Hicksey's boys as they are playing some really great football at the moment.

Thank you to everyone who was behind the very successful quiz night, it was a great night and it was fantasc to see a good crowd. Congratulaons to Jack Pudney and his team 2 girls 1 cheese on taking out the win. I hear it was a hard team to get onto with a number of seats having to be earnt with trivia quesons. Our next few events are creeping up so please check out the social funcons and lock in those dates.

This week's sponsor's shout out is to Highway Mechanical and Trident Tyre Centre.

For great service, and friendly helpful staff give the guys a call at Highway Mechanical Services. Specialising in air condioning and service repairs they are friendly and long-me sponsors of our club.

Trident Tyre Centre have been sponsors of the Nangwarry Football and Netball Club for a number of years, their excellent service, friendly staff come highly recommended. They have been around for a number of years and definitely have the best equipment and brands when it comes to your automove repairs.

Under 11: The Under 11's played a hard fought and determined game of football against Robe. Both sides displayed a high level of ball skills which made for an enjoyable game of football to watch. As with each passing week the skill development and team work is growing and impressive to watch and well worth the admission and early start to watch our future champions strut their stuff

Junior Colts: Last week we took on Robe at home. While we had a few kids out this week I can't fault the efforts of the 16 kids that pulled on a guernsey. We started a lile slow, but aer a few changes in personal and a few rev ups we started to build back into our game. We had some good movement throughout out the game probably only worked in patches for the first half. Our second half looked our best with our last quarter being the best for the day

Senior Colts: Another really compeve

game from our boys saw them defeat a good Robe team. As usual it was a very even effort with each player scking to their role to the best of their ability. Four goals to one in each of the first 3 quarters gave us control of the game and even though the last was very even it was sll a very good 69 point win. Some outstanding efforts thru the middle from Rhys Grigg, Harry Hicks and Toby Grigg was finished off in aack from Noah Virtanen, Elwood Geary, Archer Virtanen and Calais Bormann. Defensively Jaggar Geary was solid again and Tayte Virtanen was good again in his new role.

B Grade: Very tough game against Robe, they were a class above us all day. Credit to our boys we had a go but just weren't good enough unfortunately. We have had a tough four games just gone but looking into our next four games hopefully we can pick up a few wins and really kick start our season into gear

A Grade: What's with the weather? Warm condions greeted us again as we played host to Robe. For the fourth game in a row we played a team entrenched in the top 4 but again we embraced the challenge. Buoyed by our Senior Colts win earlier in the day we were well prepared for the game. Our first quarter was one of very high standard and both teams put on an impressive display of football. It was pleasing to see all our hard work pay off. For the next 3 quarters Browny's boy's ball movement and running paerns were very slick. Despite the scoreboard we had our moments throughout the game but fundamental errors denied us of more forward 50 opportunies. We are 4 games in, we expect teething issues, and we work hard on them and prepare our campaign moving forward. We connue the development of our Senior Colts and love what they bring to the table. Harry Hicks kicked his first goal at senior level only to double it minutes later, clearly a highlight for him, his family and our great football club. Goal kickers Andy Hyland 3, Harry Hicks 2 and Joel Virtanen 1. Best players/award winners: Royal Oak Hotel Award - George McWaters who baled alternate ruckmen all day and got stronger as the game got on; Club Tea Award - Running Machine Scoe Brooksby; Pines Hotel Award - In and Under Specialist Logan Gibbs; Fasta Pasta Award - Mr Consistent Josh Weedon; Limestone Coast Pantry Award - Silky Smooth Joel Virtanen; Harry Hicks who has a big future of football ahead of him.

We thank all our weekly sponsors, it is very much appreciated by all of us.

This week our campaign moves

and we look forward to seeing our dedicated supporters geng behind the boys as we take on

A Grade: Nang 19 def by Robe 72. A match in the heat! Robe's A Grade came out firing in the first quarter. Defensively pung lots of pressure on within the goal circle & midcourt. Scoring off each intercept with the accuracy from Demi Carter & Sarah Laurie with next to none misses. Moving swily in the goal circle making it look easy. Each player had an individual goal to work towards & worked hard to achieve this. Overall the A Grade yet again showed great team dynamic throughout all four quarters. Calcua went to Annie Regnier (Kut Loose Hair Design) and coaches award to Demi Carter (Pure Luxe).

A Reserve: Nag 21 def by Robe 70. What a great team game in the sunshine! The A Res team played with composure and intensity for the enre four quarters. The aacking line brought structure and precision to the court, with Ella, Ash and Libby working flawlessly in the circle and Skimmer and Camille providing those second phase movements to transion the ball down the court. Our efforts in defence did not go unnoced, with almost a 50-goal difference they applied pressure to the opposion in all parts of the court! It was great to have Hannah in the team for her debut.

Congratulaons to Ella on Calcua (Kut Loose Hair Design) and Camille for Coaches award (Pure Luxe). Great things to come for these Rooster girls!

B Grade: Nang 20 def by Robe 55. What a win. Great job to the whole team. I set individual goals & you all achieved them collecvely. We adjusted each quarter and kept our control. Billie had a boomer in goals & defence taking out Calcua (Kut Loose Hair Design). Nikita's defence was second to none, her 1:1 pressure was unbelievable in GD earning Coaches award (Pure Luxe).

B Reserve: Nang 26 def by Robe 48. The girls played with calmness and composure and it sure showed. Starng Rob in centre set our pace and saw us finishing the quarter up by 1 goal. Jess and Liv (coaches award – Pure Luxe) worked effortlessly together all game, using the ring and talking well. Soph our ever improving new WA worked well with the goalies and her passing into the gold ring was almost flawless. Defence didn't drop a beat all game and the turnovers proved that. Mahalia as always, guided and backed up again proving why her team chose her as captain and also taking out Calcua (Kut Loose Hair Design) for the week. Neve as always worked hard in centre, using her defence skills to help gain turnovers. Last quarter saw Cass nervously step in to centre and prove to herself she has what it takes to play that spot.

17 & Under: Nang 34 def by Robe 55. The girls went into the game with a win on their mind, we knew it wasn't going to be easy but went out firing from the start. It was a game for playing our roles, with many of the girls playing in at least two different posions and we juggled having two team members away. Thank you to Leni and Millie who well and truly stepped up from U15s and helped us turn the game around from prey even at half me to a comfortable win. Our defence did not stop all day geng turnovers flat out. Liv showed us why she is captain, with great talk and consistent performance the whole game, earning herself the incenve award (Loaves & Fishes). I thought the team did their best driving through the mid court I've seen all season. Our

goalies were confident and accurate with Georgie earning best player (Steve's Place) for her work in the ring and bringing the ball down. So proud of the effort!

15 & Under: Nang 30 def by Robe 51. So good to get another win on the board for the season. The girls were a bit slow to start, having quite a number of errors which Nangwarry scored on leaving us down at half me. Going into the third quarter, the girls knew they needed to dig deep if they wanted to walk away with the win. Giving them a lile pep talk li certainly helped as they came out firing. We got a number of turnovers from here which we were able to take all the way down to the goalies to give us a lead at three quarter me. Only making a slight change at the break kept the momentum we needed to extend our lead ll the final whistle. We've been focusing on posive talk and the atudes on and off the court and I feel the second half really showed this and the girls smashed it. Well done to everyone, you all played fantasc. Best player went to Millie (Steve's Place) for an effortless game in goals and coaches award was awarded to Makenzie (Salubrious Hour) for an epic game in WD

13 & Under: Nang 23 def Robe 16. Well done girls! Unfortunately we didn't come away with a win but we are certainly coming together as a team, pung into place the things we have been working hard on at training. Our first half was fantasc, our passages of play, our passing, footwork and defensive play was on point and hard to fault. Everyone taking ownership of their posions, it really was amazing to watch. I think the heat and our fitness played a massive part of our demise, aer the half me break our energy levels dropped and the lead we had kept all game unfortunately slowly slipped away. Best player went to Zoe (Union Café), she worked hard in defence all day a posion that is only new to her this season and my coaches award went to Lacey (Salubrious Hour), she zipped around the court flat out for the full 4 quarters geng lots of turnovers.

Junior 1: What a game by our junior 1 girls. We played netball the enre way down the court, making leads, moving off our player to get in front. All of you used your defensive skills and created lots of turnovers. Each week we find something new we need to develop from our games, and we combine them all together very well. If we can connue to combine all these skills together by then end of the season we'll be more than ready for compeve netball. Coaches award went to Lydia (Robe Netball Club) for running hard all game and creang numerous turnovers.

Junior 2: It took us some me to get seled last week, with the girls geng used to playing some new posions. A focus during training was trying to reduce stepping and it was great to see the girls trying to keep their grounded foot in one place! This week we will need to get back to basics with our passing, as we lost a lot of the ball trying to pass too long over the opposion players, when our teammates weren't in front. Bey scored two goals which was very excing for the whole team, well done Bey. Jess, once again, worked hard all game and earned herself the incenve award (Robe Netball Club), great work Jess!

Junior 2: Our 4th game commenced with high energy as players from both teams took to the court with enthusiasm. Passing and movement were fantasc, and early goals were scored as the girls seled into their rhythm. Both teams pushed hard, showcasing their resilience and passion for the sport. Our Junior 2s exhibited excellent sportsmanship, congratulang each other on good plays and efforts. The match ended on a posive note, highlighng the growth and development of our young team; as a coach I can't be prouder of how well the girls are improving each week. Our encouragement awards went to Desny Johnson & Imogen Griffiths, thank you to Subway & Fasta Pasta for donang the awards.

Junior 1: What a great game girls! You are really working well together to bring the ball down the court. Everyone was defending well and using their voices. Encouragement awards went to Zoe (Wendy's) and Lucy (Fasta Pasta). Zoe played well in all posions last week, topping it off with a couple of goals in goal aack. Lucy was determined to win the ball, moving well and staying posive all game.

13 & Under: Port MacDonnell 18 defeated by Hatherleigh 80. A huge thank you to Skyla Hopgood and Zoe Vandepeer for helping us out last weekend and giving their best on court! The girls tried some new combinaons in both aack and defence, with some finding new posions which they shined at. The girls are slowly developing more and more trust as we get into the season, but we are sll working some things out. They put together some great passages of play down the court, just needing consistency! Great effort for a warm sunny day! Awards: Peyton BowdWendy's, Evie Jones - Port MacDonnell General Store.

15 & Under: Port MacDonnell 53 defeated Hatherleigh 36. Another great game girls! We can see the improvement and teamwork coming together and it's very excing to see where we will be at the end of the season. Defensive pressure all over the court was great and the use of our lanes was excellent. We adjusted well with the changes we made nicely. Awards: Layla McPherson - Arena Surf & Sports Store, Chelsea FulhamSubway

17 & Under: Port MacDonnell 58 defeated Hatherleigh 53. The Demon girls had a successful day in the sunshine on Saturday, a credit to their work at trainings. We started strong, a new goalie combinaon of Lilly and Chloe Day combining well in the circle to capitalise on every opportunity sent their way Alicetyn Stanley worked relessly in defence, remaining a presence on the line in transion. The second quarter saw Bree Ridding check into the game at GD, her speed and agility truly game changing over the course of the day Jasmine Morgan and Bella McLean shared the WA posion to create some excellent drive into our aack line, feeding our goalies well. Half me saw our captain Sophie Lewis step it up another notch to create numerous defensive stops and back it up with fantasc drive and poise in aack. Ruby Moody was a steady head at WD, also providing plenty of back up on the line, helping our offence remain paent and not force the ball down. Aer a seesawing affair all day, it was the bay girls determinaon and never say die atude that got them over the line. Best players

were Sophie Lewis (Arena Surf & Sports Store) and Chloe Day (Subway), both girls playing a fantasc game.

B Reserve: Port MacDonnell 55 defeated Hatherleigh 34. In a thrilling encounter between two determined teams, the girls went out with intense energy right from the first whistle, seng the stage for a fiercely compeve matchup, leading by 8 at quarter me. As the game progressed into the second quarter, the pace quickened. With our up-and-coming junior star Lilly Day sharing the ring with Amber Moulden, shoong accuracy became paramount, especially with Hatherleigh's ght defence. The third quarter proved pivotal, with momentum swinging back and forth. Each turnover was met with determined efforts to capitalise on scoring opportunies. Midcourt players displayed exceponal agility and vision, orchestrang plays and creang space. As the final quarter commenced, both teams elevated their intensity, leaving everything on the court. A huge congratulaon to our youngster Bridie McPherson on playing her 100th game, also to Amber Moulden & Paige Cawthorne for being awarded best players. Thank you to Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro & The Bay Pizzeria for donang the game day awards, also to our team sponsors Cawthorne Fisheries & S Cram Concrete & Construcon.

B Grade: Port MacDonnell 37 defeated by Hatherleigh 49. It wasn't all bad girls! We came from behind and really worked hard. We just need to start our games as we finish. Keep going girls and we will get there. Great work from Stevie who went in and levelled up and smashed being in GK. Fingers crossed Liv will be back in no me. Nothing to worry about, up from here. Best players: Stevie Collins (Salem Moody Make up & Beauty), Ashlee Schwereger (Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro).

A Reserve: Port MacDonnell 39 drew with Hatherleigh 39. What a great game! When things weren't going our way, everyone kept their heads up and kept pushing on. Welcome back Kirby! It was great to see that everyone kept fighng for their posion as we had new combinaons most places on the court. We had some really excellent turnovers that we were able to reward the defence from. Once we all got into our groove, the passages of play were great. I look forward to us building on this now and keep the momentum going. Best players: Kirby Carrison (Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro), Bailee Lewis (Birdie Blue).

A Grade: Port MacDonnell 39 defeated Hatherleigh 32. Well done girls - we've been working hard all season and to finally come away with a well-earned win is an amazing feeling and was awesome to watch as a coach. We had some awesome passages of play and kept our composure with a fast-paced Hatherleigh side. We adjusted well to a few changes and were able to transion to ball down the court more fluently. We never gave up and going into the final quarter we all dug deep and slowly were able to take the lead and held it for the quarter to take the win. Everyone played well individually and as a team, we definitely can't get complacent now and need to keep working hard and wanng success, which won't come easily. Best players: Alana Berkefeld, sponsored by J O. Berkefeld (Voucher Victoria Hotel), Megan Hein, sponsored by Shannon Schiedl (Voucher Victoria Hotel).

NETball club notes hatherleigh

Junior 1: The girls created some great passages of play on the weekend. Everyone focused hard on there given job as well as what we have been focusing on at training. Goalies worked on constantly being on the move and coming towards the ball. Defenders worked their feet and made their opponents works for everything. We had good leads and some great pressure through the mid court. We need to work on our decision making with the ball as well as our choice of pass. Chemist King: Emma McGrath, Hatherleigh Ladies Commiee: Georgia Hassell.

Junior 2: We started slow against some tall opposion and took a while to find some rhythm. However aer the second quarter onwards we worked hard with lots of changing of direcon and leads to the ball. We need to keep working on strong shoulder passes and pushing the ball to the space. The intensity and defensive pressure from everyone was excellent; with quick hands over the ball. A great team effort. Hatherleigh Ladies Commiee: Amelia, Sportspower: Addison.

13 & Under: Hatherleigh 80 defeated Port MacDonnell 18. Wow girls. From week to week you bring so much to your games. Your posive atudes and ability to not only listen well to feedback but put it in to play is outstanding and it's great to see so much growth from each of you so early in the season. Unfortunately this week Leyla went out with a broken arm but that didn't stop the sun from shining down at Pt Mac and you all doing your bit to make sure we filled that void and had a strong win. Paige played a ripper with eyes up and lots of great clean intercepts. Kaia and Chloe worked well together pung the pressure to get many turnovers on entry to Pt Mac’s goal third and driving out hard when we got a turnover. Alirah ran relessly for the enrety of the game and fed the goalies extremely well and connually easily switched her defensive pressure on. Arabella stood up and had some incredible vision in to the circle. Mollie, Livvi and Hazel worked well in the circle together with the change of players at half me you all seled and moved well. Thank you Tilly for sing bench for us. Kasey for scoring and Alan for primary caring. Awards: Dentons - Alirah Bowman, HLC - Paige Walters.

15 & Under: Hatherleigh 36 defeated by Port MacDonnell 56. Port Mac jumped us at the start and it took us a while to sele and get back into our game plan. We improved each quarter and it was impressive to see girls respond well to feedback and implement direcons aer each break. Our three phases defence was successful in holding up the opposion’s drive down the court. We cleaned up our turnover count by leading directly to the ball and liming cross court passes. Space began to open up and our defensive pressure was rewarded when we controlled possession and scored from turnovers. Aer winning the last quarter the girls should be happy with the contest they created. I have no doubt that if we work hard to up our intensity rate we can really challenge these top teams. Duckys - Tilly Prouse, Banner - Sylvie Barlow

17 & Under: Hatherleigh 53 defeated by Port MacDonnell 58. Not one of our beer games, with the physicality of the game we lost focus on doing the smart things and playing our own brand of netball. We had some nice patches of play but lacked consistency. Everyone worked hard and we did create a lot of turnovers which is always pleasing. B Reserve: Hatherleigh 36 defeated by Port MacDonnell 55. Bad luck girls. We knew it was going to be a tough game, and even tougher under warm condions. Pt Mac came out firing in the first few minutes and it took us a while to sele and find our moment. We did have some great passages of play down the court and worked the ball into our goalies with paence. Our defence had their work cut out and worked hard with many turnovers. Our midcourt worked relessly and our goalies performed well under pressure. Lots of effort but unfortunately not the result we had hoped for, especially coming off a great game last week. Thanks to Amy and Maddie for making the decision to stay off for most of the game that’s what a team player is all about. We need to remember to have trust in each other, chase those lose balls and remember to look down the court. Let’s regroup at training and come out strong this week. Thanks again to Zoe for scoring and Linda for being our primary carer Heaven on a Hanger - Maddie Copping, Sport and Rec - Ella Major

B Grade: Hatherleigh 49 defeated Port MacDonnell 43. It was a warm one at Pt Mac and the game started with a cracking pace. We came out firing and raring to go with our A game! Great defensive pressure down the court meant we got our hands to plenty. Ali and Georgia fed with paence and vision into Eliza and Ellie who both shot with accuracy. At the other end, Sarah and Marnie combined beaufully with Marnie’s height and perfect posioning under the ring, giving her the rebound every me. Kaz worked hard, chasing down loose passes and driving the ball out of defence. Ellie used her voice and ran hard all day to drive into the circle and got plenty of touches when playing defensively. Sarah stayed on her toes in the circle, coming away with numerous intercepts. Aer the main break we were raled by a few incidents and some taccal changes were needed. We adjusted well, re-grouped and kept playing our game. Liv came on, was strong in the circle, held well, got the rebound and plenty of goals to boot! The heat and fast pace of the game appeared to take its toll as the game wore on - but everyone le everything out on the court. A few things to work on, but what we are super proud of week in and week out is the effort you each give out on the court, the posive team spirit, support of each other and the great sportsmanship displayed. Best players Ellie Cook (Hath Sport & Rec) and Eliza Burton (Heaven on a hanger). Thank you to Raels for scoring and Linda for primary carer

A Reserve: Hatherleigh 39 drew Port MacDonnell 39. What a great game the girls had on the weekend. They girls did so well to put in 100% the whole game and if paid off. Great work to everyone to adjusng to different posions, with players away, we did a great job to step into the posion and play out our game. Defensively, we had a great game with Maddie and Millie taking some excellent intercepons and making it hard for the goalies to work in. The girls should be very proud to come to a draw! Well done girls. Thanks to Zoe, Ciarne and Sarah for helping out. Awards: Maddie Redman - Sport and Rec, Millie Smith - Heaven on a Hanger

A Grade: Hatherleigh 33 defeated by Port MacDonnell 39. A ght physical game in warm condions saw us finish with a disappoinng result. Unfortunately, we couldn't quite put four quarters together, to capitalise and hold the lead. The defensive pressure all over the court gave us plenty of turnovers whilst Elly and Lara rebounded strongly. The first three quarters saw us being paent and moving the ball with ease, unfortunately in the last we couldn't step up and do the 1%. Awards: Ginos - Kalli Nele & Sport & Rec - Elly Redden.

Junior 2: What a game, girls! Every quarter you came out with more energy, excitement and an eagerness to play than the quarter before. Your defensive pressure caused many turnovers throughout the game which then allowed you to move the ball down the court to score some beauful goals. Your teamwork was awesome across the court and in the goal circle making sure that everyone got involved. It's great to see our older girls stepping up and taking on leadership roles. The Toy Kingdom award went to Charlie for having fantasc defensive pressure and clean footwork throughout the whole game. The Acky's award went to Lux who in her first game of netball, showed confidence with her voice and improved each and every quarter. The Zambreros award went to Alaska who stepped up into a leadership role and had great movement towards the ball. The Subway award went to Paige for working on her outside arm and using her speed to keep moving and geng free in the goal circle.

Junior 1: A well-fought game by the girls. It was great to see everyone’s strong, front cuts and leads at the ball throughout the enre game. This helped us bring the ball down the court smoothly into our aack line. Our defence was applying pressure which caused turnovers and rebounds for us to convert into scoring opportunies. It’s great to see our trainings being applied into the games! Awards went to SydneeMaccas, Zariah - Acky’s, Bella - Subway Thanks Kelly for ming and Jazmin for umpiring.

Best players went to Becky geng the Ackys Deli award and Stella geng the Subway voucher

17 & Under: Another great day for netball with the sun shining and no wind. We started a lile flat footed and allowed Pt Mac to get hands to balls. When we seled, stayed closer to our players and put pressure on Pt Mac’s defensive throw-ins, we started to stem the flow. It is important that every player helps our defence line to slow the flow of play Sarah and Tilly found great space in the goal circle fed well by Olivia, Lola and Abbey. Abbey was a driving force through the centre and helped slow the play at mes. It is important to get the ball back to the middle of the court when we get a turnover and set up plays. Macy and Sara worked hard to keep in front, forcing wide shots to then take some strong rebounds. Jaimie worked hard to block the WA and provided drive out of the defensive line. Well done Abbey - Acky's award, Sarah - Somerset award, JaimieIgnion award and Macy - Kaboom bowling. Thanks to Sam for scoring, Paul for ming and Lilly for umpiring.

B Reserve: Mt Burr 16 defeated by Port Mac 63. A very experienced Port Mac side definitely showed us we have lots to work on to be compeve this season. A very experienced defensive line had us struggling to score goals. To our teams credit we played out the game in good spirit. We tried out a few new combinaons and have lots to pracce in the next couple of weeks. Best went to Karen Hayward and Amanda Cull. Thanks to Somerset, Zambreros, Dentons and the Grand for vouchers.

B Grade: Going into the game we knew it would be hard. Aer coming off a great win we were determined to start strong and that we did being 3 up at the end of the 1st. Our movement down court we sll need to cut front and re offer, we will keep working on this at training. We had some great passages of play from defensive through the mid court and to the goalies. Last quarter Port Mac fought deep, and scored the first 4 goals of the quarter. We steadied our play and started to score and managed to stay in front and finish off a great bale. Awards went to Ignion Fitness – Jaimie, Melzar – Bri, Grand Hotel – Lilly, Vicki and Laura’s –Tilly, Sports Power – Maddie.

A Reserve: We played a compeve game in the heat. We started strong in the first quarter working effecvely in defence creang intercepons and capitalising on rebounds where we could. Pt Mac’s shoong was accurate having us one down going into the second quarter The game connued very much goal for the start of the second quarter unl some forced passing errors and missed opportunies in goals saw Pt Mac extend their lead to four at halime then 7 going into the fourth. Pt Mac kept up the pressure and converted their turnovers to win the game overall by 16. Thanks to the scores, mer and umpires. Junior 2: What an amazing game we had girls! I am so proud of all of you for playing such a great game. We have been praccing hard at training the last few weeks and it showed in our game. Everyone had lots of the ball and we focused on using our pivong to pass the ball down to our goal end and lead in front of our players. The last quarter was very excing with both Malda and Indianna scoring a goal! It was a great even game, with the ball going up and down the court lots of mes. Everyone played amazingly but the best players went to Isabella for her defensive pressure and many intercepts throughout the game and Indianna for her movement in goals and trying atude. Well done everyone!

Junior 1: Well done everyone! We have had some great Saturday morning weather and last week was probably the warmest and it showed on everyone's faces by the end of the game! A lot of great passages of play all over the court. Goalies did great with rebounds, passing around the ring, holds and lile pop outs. Mid court worked hard all game to try and get the ball to the aack end. Defence were all over the place with so many touches, rebounds and intercepts that I lost count! Best player went to Billy for a very impressive game in defence playing against a much taller player, but sll managing to get a lot of rebounds and intercepts. Encouragement went to Mikayla, you had a great half in WD and made it very hard for your opponent! Lots to work on at training, but you are all improving every week. Again, Happy Birthday Mikayla!

13 & Under: Glencoe 51 defeated Kongorong 9. A fantasc 20 goal first quarter set us up for the game. Everyone focused on what we worked on at training with our defensive pressure creang lots of turnovers and our goalies in Hallie and Abbie finishing off strongly with some excellent shoong. We made a lot of changes and everyone adjusted being in different posions well. Best player went to Abbie (Key 2 Sale), Annabelle was second best and Emma got the encouragement award (Café 72).

15 & Under: Glencoe 51 defeated Kongorong 35. Not the start we wanted, it took a while for us to find our groove. We made a few changes and everyone adapted well. The goalies were accurate and found plenty of space, best player went to Ella. There was plenty of drive down the court and lots of good feeding into the goalies, Ruby and Bella worked relessly in defence earning them second best and encouragement award. We have a few things to work on at training, lets keep running out the full game - well done girls.

17 & Under: Glencoe 58 defeated Kongorong 15. Another awesome win girls! We started strong with Kongorong unable to score in the 1st quarter. We worked hard each quarter to build on the score. We have such great mid court pressure, something we need to connue with for the tough games ahead that we will face. Defence got plenty of touches & turnovers, we had lots of opons moving down the court which is pleasing to see. Lots of changes in the goal circle shows we are lucky to have lots of different combinaons. We need to work on finishing strong by running our games out never giving up which we didn't do & work on our foot work! Best players: Shae Tweddle for her great driving down the court & passing into the circle. Maddie Bignell for her determinaon in defence geng plenty of touches & turnovers. Encouragement award: Sienna Hawke for always giving her all in whatever posion I put her in.

Kongorong took a small lead in the first we were able to sele and come back to even out the score! Throughout the game we kept calm and collected focusing on moving the ball down the court steadily and passing to the most safe opon. Aer another change in score and another lead from Kongorong early in the second half, we again seled, and won back our lead, leading comfortably at the final whistle. I was proud of the team effort, backing each other up, and the way we were able to stay cool, calm and collected. Thank you to Shae and Alyssa for helping us out and playing an awesome game, you both played big roles! Best players went to Jorja Owen and Caitlyn Bignell.

B Grade: Glencoe 59 defeated Kongorong 21. What a great win girls! We worked hard at training and it's starng to show on game day. We came out strong in the first quarter and only improved as the game went on. Our goalies worked hard all day and the movement in the circle is improving every week. Bel and Bri rebounded well and shot with confidence. It was great to have Kate back this week to provide some much needed speed down the court. Our defence down the court was strong and we made it difficult for Kongorong to get the ball in the circle. We made a few changes as the game went on and it was great to see everyone switch on and adapt to their posions with ease and take on feedback from the half me break. We had a dominant third quarter and things were starng to gel all down the court. First best went to Kate for her drive and determinaon to get to any ball. Second best went to Bri for her talk and direcon in aack. Thank you to Kate and Caitlyn for benching again. Let's connue to work hard at training and get ready for a tough game this week!

A Reserve: Glencoe 28 lost to Kongorong 44. Unfortunately a game we could have and should have won but it just wasn't our day. We were very flat and quiet from the get go and I don't think a single player played their usual game, everyone was out of sorts. It was tough and I was happy to see everyone push to the end regardless. Let's move forward and get back to our usual great game and get some wins on the board!

A Grade: Glencoe 59 defeated Kongorong 16. Congratulaons to Ashlea for playing her 150th senior game last weekend! Some real posives and some areas for improvement despite the blow out on the scoreboard. We started the game a bit frazzled and gave away some early errors but despite the opening minutes it was good to see us adjust and work the ball more paently between a new combinaon in aack. A super effort by the defence in this game. The full court pressure was great and forced a heap of long balls. There was a huge intercept count and we worked overme to somemes get two or three turnovers on the one centre pass. Special menon of keeping the opposion goal-less in the final quarter. In aack we were a bit lack lustre at mes. The sun was out and it made for a hot game but we need to keep treasuring our turnover ball and making sure it is rewarded on the scoreboard. Good rebounding and chasing up of loose balls. Let's keep working on keeping our heads posive to allow us to convert. Best player (O'Brien Electrical) went to Caitlin for a huge defensive game. You were clean under the post all day, taking a heap of intercepts, rebounding strongly and rounding up any loose balls as the final line of defence. Second best went to Alice who sloed into a new posion and ran hard all day to always be an opon down court and fed into the circle nicely. Let's keep up the good work at training and connue to improve. Good start this week!

Junior 2: Mini magpies came out ready to go this morning. With the sun shining we had a great start to the game with April and Evie staring in goals, Grace, Hannah and Willow playing amazing defence. Piper and Harper played mid court and together starng to understand the play a lot more which is great. Heidi is a finding great posion in the aack line and finished at centre with a great quarter. Everyone footwork was great the 3 feet has improved and the hunger for the ball is all there. The clearing out was amazing, you have all listened on Tuesday nights training well. Now to make sure the girls find their voice, more one arm shoulder pass and we have a winning formula. Best on today was April Durbridge, and Grace Mulligan for listening, using one arm passing and amazing defence.

Junior 1: Another amazing effort last week by the Junior 1’s. The girls really worked hard on driving down the court and re offering. Our defence worked hard on geng in front and geng intercepts when needed. Mid court worked hard on clearing out and looking for the space. Our goalies did extremely well, shot accurately and tried their best. Well done girls you should be proud of your efforts that you have put in from training. Best players: Adele (lolli-pops) and Mackenna (Fasta Pasta).

13 & Under: A very warm day for netball and our girls adjusted to the condions well. As normal Ebony Reeves (DKs hot chocolate award) and Malda Peacock (Athletes Foot award) both worked hard and shot well. Ashely Grosvenor definitely had fast pace going and put her body on the line with strong intercepons to receive DKs hot chocolate award. Our defence side were very ght and solid all combined well to shut down Tantanoola and restricted them to a low score. The last quarter we and a few girls in different new posions and all adjusng to this did very well as a team. Let’s keep learning and having fun.

15 & Under: Another great team game. Molly (Intersport) had a blinder in defence geng heaps of intercepons and backing up down the court. Ava was solid in the mid court with great passing decisions and Lucy, Kiersten and Emmity all presented well in the goal circle. Lexie (lollipops) drove well and took some really nice balls at WA and then got plenty of touches at WD. Zoe’s speed connues to be a strength and even though not feeling 100%, Ella worked hard when she was on the court.

17 & Under: With the sun shining again we warmed up quickly and started our game with much beer focus and execuon. Lily (Fasta Pasta) had a great game in C with accurate passing and excellent defensive pressure and even sloed into goals seamlessly for a quarter. Ash, Maya and Ellie (Gambier City) applied great pressure and got a lot of touches and intercepts. Shayden and Georgia presented well and shot beaufully. It was great to see Molly and Lily

connect well and feed our goalies strongly. A huge thanks again and well done to Kiersten and Lucy for providing us with fresh legs!

B Reserve: Bit of a warm one out there for us and for the most part we did well to conserve our energy. As usual our goalies combined brilliantly and were able to capitalise on all opportunies. Our mid court ulised their speed and moved the ball well, working well with the goalies. Emma had another strong game at WD pung a lot of pressure over the ball and delaying players to get to their wanted posions. Our defence worked super hard to prevent Tant from geng the ball in the circle and boxed out well to allow them only one shot. Together the created plenty of turnovers which we were able to reward up the other end. Thank you to Ash for sing bench and jumping in GD for a run - you fit in so well! Best players Emma Smith (Melzar Award) and Gemma Box (Globe Award).

B Grade: Another great win. Our first game with a full side. Our girls had a bit of a slower start adjusng to a skilled opposion. We worked hard on our defensive pressure in the second quarter which saw us gain more of a lead. Our transioning down the court is looking great. We are moving the ball around the goal circle to create beer posions in the circle. You could see that we red in the final quarter with some unforced errors. However some excellent netball throughout to give us a 17 goal win. Lucy Williams - Birdie Blue, Rhianna May - RSL.

A Reserve: Another amazing team effort again. Every week we improve despite numerous changes to our line up. It was a nice lile Russell combo in goals which was nice to watch. Aack were paent and hard working all game. Defence was fantasc and provided with aack with plenty of opportunies all game. Well done to Maya, Shayden and Ellie for smashing out their second game for the day Thank you to Lucy for giving us fresh legs when we needed it. The future of K’doo is so bright with our amazing kids we have coming through. Good work and let’s come out strong again this week. Best players - Re Weatherall (Globe), Shayden Russell (Birdie Blue).

A Grade: A tough contest last week and many things to take away from the game. We had good passages of play and our willingness to fight back and not give in are great characteriscs of our team. Jane ran a marathon through the mid court and Lauren playing out of posion showed her versality in WA. Our defensive pressure from Lara, Georgia and Shanae increased in the second half and made a huge difference in our fight back. Ebony was a strong target in aack and connue to be a focal point. A disappoinng loss, but we focus on the bigger picture and look to connue to improve each week. Best players - Georgia Genle (Aloha), Lara Munro (Globe).

B Reserve: Glencoe 58 defeated Kongorong 42. Well done girls! Aer

Junior 2: I hope you all gave yourselves a pat on the back aer last week’s game girls, you all played so well! You're all demonstrang and your acing your fundamental skills! This game was another tough one, but you all held your heads high and made them work hard to score their goals! There was a lot of posive talk on the court, calling for the ball and direcng each other, which is showing me you're really listening! Our aackers moved well in and around the circle with some perfect front cuts down the middle of the court, which helped us score. Defence, you kept your eye on the ball, which resulted in some quick turnovers. Also, when you found the body of your player, it was much more difficult for the opposion to score. We will come up against some tough teams, but just connue to remember the drills we have been working on at training and it will begin to become much easier. Best players - Shanks Engineering: Lacey Peters for your front cuts and hing the circle edge, remembering to pivot, your hard drives and great feeding into the goalies and Wendy's: Lexi Johnson, you read the ball so well & intercepted a lot of passes. You showed grit & determinaon when chasing aer the ball & your drives down the court were excellent!

Junior 1: Another very compeve game from our lile J1 girls. The effort from all 9 players was brilliant. We spread out, created space & drove it through the centre very well by playing in front. Our goalies were extremely accurate & overall it was just a brilliant team performance. Awards went to Myla (Shanks Engineering) for her turnovers at WD & her drive through the mid court at C and also to Daisy (Tant Canteen) who is implemenng everything she is being taught in goals. Well done girls.

13 & Under: Bad luck girls, we had our heads down for the first half but managed to pull it together for a compeve last half. I did see some amazing dodges & great intercepons but unfortunately our poor passing all over court let us down. We will be working on this at training & it's something you can all work on at home. Jaycie received the Sportspower award for her consistent game in defence & Zahli received the Shanks Engineering award for listening & being adaptable. Keep working hard & we will see the results.

15 & Under: We came up against a top team which has been playing together for several years while we have only been as a team for a couple of months, so the result was not unexpected. However, I was pleased to see everyone keeping their head up and trying their best ll the final whistle in whatever posion they were asked to play. Alice led the way (again) to earn Foodlands voucher, Tamika the Tantanoola meal voucher and Peyton the Devine Gis voucher 17 & Under: A challenging one last week for the girls. Kalangadoo are a very strong side and came out firing. With lots of posional changes throughout, the team adjusted and kept their work rate high all game. Our paence and decision making

improved as the game went on. Defensive pressure was good all down court. Poppy (Sportspower) adapted to both ends of the court and had a ripper game, geng hands to lots of balls and converng well in aack. Hailey (KFC) worked great all game to win her posion and have a posive impact in the aack line. Great team game, can't wait to hear some voice and keep improving this season. Lots to work on in the coming weeks ready for the rest of the season ahead. Well done girls.

B Reserve: We were very inconsistent with many unforced errorsunderstandably with many, many changes of players and posions! Something that we can control as we understand the strengths of the players around us and adjust to different circumstances. There were many posives to work on in the coming weeks. Awards - Lauren (McCourts Garden Centre), Kath - (TNC meal voucher) Leah - (Devine Gis).

B Grade: Well last week’s game against Kalangadoo was a tough one. We knew it was going to be as so far neither of us teams had faced a loss. The weather was very hot going into the game but we had a game plan and decided to come out strong. Danni Rutkowski was back aer an injury and we kept the game fairly even for the first quarter. Unfortunately we had an injury in the second which caused one of our girls to be out but we sll stayed strong and kept fighng. The experience of Kalangadoo and the taller girls they had showed as the game went on and they got away on us. Unfortunately we went down but we have lots to work on and it will a nail biter next me we play

A Reserve: In what was another perfect day for netball the Tigers headed to Kalangadoo. Lining up against the Pies that are a well drilled team over the years. We knew it was going to be a hard task for all our players. The game didn't start out well, turning over the first centre pass and numerous missed shots from our GS. A lot of the Tigers own mistakes gave the Pies a good lead in the first. A few changes made saw fresh legs hing the court but Kalangadoo being a welloiled team connued to stem ahead. The Tigers connued to work on everything they were set with for the game. There were a lot of posives to take out of the game and we can see it's all starng to link up. Although the scoreline blew out we are so proud of how our team player with intensity, posivity, encouragement and having fun. Best: Ebony Cytrowski - Somerset Hotel and Dakota Hateley - Denton Sportspower

A Grade: Solid performance from all players. Great to see our defensive combinaon of Bella (K&S) and Kate growing in confidence each week. Casey (McCourts) connued to provide opons in aack, and along with Kate and Jami accurately delivered the ball to Emma who connued with her accurate shoong. Molly is making the most of her senior opportunies and is following instrucons given. Plenty to keep working on in the coming weeks so let's connue to work hard.

Junior 2: Another sunny day, we played at home against Robe. Everyone on the team listened and played super well. We managed to get lots of goals which was great to li the girl's spirits. We are so proud at how much everyone improving and creang space in the court which we have been praccing at training.

13 & Under: Again another hot day for us all. We had a scrappy start in the first half but persisted and got beer as the game went on. Our last half was much beer and we played more like a team. We just need to remember to chase those loose balls, if we drop the ball remember to chase it straight away. We did really well last half cung towards the ball and passing got heaps beer when we used one hand to pass to each other. Some really good passages of play too, just need start to be more consistent which will happen as we play more together, everyone did well to finish it off. Blue Lake Mini Golf went to Izzy and canteen Tahlia. 15 & Under: What a great game put in by both teams... the score doesn't reflect how close this game was. It's great to see the

Nangwarry girls improving each week. It was a pleasure to play against Robe last week.

B Reserve: What a beauful day on our home courts. The first quarter was full of amazing plays and high spirits and very evenly matched, going goal for goal for a while. I'm proud of the improvement I am seeing in the Nangwarry team and the way they support each other on and off the court. Although we didn't quite get the result we were hoping for it was an excing game to watch. Well done Robe on your first win for the season.

B Grade: We are connuing to improve each week. Last week our defensive pressure from all players was our best yet as was our transion down the court and passing into the goal circle. Zoe rebounded well in goals. Ebony had a fantasc game gaining many intercepons and Amy and Chloe worked hard in defence again. Award Royal Oak Amy for her defensive pressure and San Piero coffee voucher Carla for a great game at WD. Let's connue to improve.

A Reserve: Very soon we will all be complaining that it's raining, but it is hard to play a winter sport in such sunny weather Emily Timms played her best game of the season and has started to take the feedback to beer her game, she worked redly with Lyndall and Krissy in defence to try and slow the movement up in aack and the three of them never gave up. Tamara, Simone, and Alisha applied pressure through the midcourt and were able to get a few turnovers. Chrystal, Maddi and Shandeen connued to hold up their part in the team standing strong and moving the ball well around the ring. Keep going girls we are playing some great netball we just need to play 4 strong quarters to get that win.

A Grade: Despite the scorching weather, our fitness journey faced hurdles, but amidst the struggle, glimpses of progress emerged. Shez and Eb are shaping up to be a formidable duo. Our defence yet again worked hard all game and Taysh killed it in WD. Personal goals await us on the path to improvement, yet with dedicaon, we can conquer them. Let's persevere, ladies! Your consistent growth each week is commendable. Best players Ebony Wurst and Kayla Gray.

round 5 a grade match reports

Kongorong v Glencoe

Round 5 saw Glencoe take on the young Hawks team. The first quarter of the game saw both teams going hard for the ball but the Murphies seled early, moving the ball well. A bit of inaccurate shoong from both teams but sll Glencoe managed to come out in front with a 6 goal lead.

Second quarter Glencoe stepped up their shoong with Chantelle Cocks geng 12 for the quarter. Some nice feeding to the circle from Alice Tentye and Ashlea Pfitzner saw them very seled. Although Kongorong insgated some taccal changes and Ebony Lawson provided some drive down the centre they sll couldn't find their flow and Glencoe increased their lead to 17 by half me.

The Hawks went into the third quarter with work to do. Defence lied with Emily Lightbody from Kongorong working relessly in the goal circle. Some lovely rebounds but unfortunately not rewarded with turnovers down the court sending the ball straight back. Glencoe had a strong quarter and a 26 goal lead by three quarter me.

Fourth quarter saw Glencoe take control and finish the game off with a 43 goal victory. Caitlin Hentscke making countless intercepts in the goal circle holding the Hawks goalless for the final quarter.

Also a big congratulaons to Jasmin McKinnon for playing her 100th game for the Hawks!

Best players - Glencoe: Caitlin Hentschke, Alice Tentye; Kongorong: Emily Lightbody, Ebony Lawson.

Port MacDonnell v Hatherleigh

Another sunny day by the seaside saw Port MacDonnell host Hatherleigh. Predicted to be a close encounter - the game didn’t disappoint.

The first quarter was a fairly even affair - all four goalies struggling to convert as they rid early game jiers. The ball went back & forward as Demon defenders Alana Berkefeld & Emily Thompson rebounded missed shots by the Eagles, but Hatherleigh defenders Lara McGregor & Elly Redden were doing the same down the opposite end - standing tall & making the most of any missed shots from the Bay shooters, Cody Manning & Kori Collins. Hatherleigh up by the slimmest margin at quarter me, leading 8-7.

Goalies seled in the second quarter, Bree Harris found her range for the Eagles & Cody Manning had a beer shoong quarter. Alysha Coon in centre for the Bay was having a great tussle with Eagles Erin Watson, while Megan Hein was effecve in WD for the Bay, providing plenty of drive out of defence. Lara McGregor was geng her hands to any loose balls & was prominent in defence for Hatherleigh. Elly Redden also playing some great netball at

GK, for the visitors, combining well with McGregor. The Eagles edged ahead slightly on the scoreboard, leading 20-17 at halfme.

Port Mac made changes coming into the third quarter. Megan Hein moved into GA, Cody Manning to WA & Kate Faint to WD Hatherleigh also put on some fresh legs, bringing Demi Vanderhorst into WA & Tegan Telfer came to the bench. Both teams took me to adjust to the changes, but the changes seemed to work for the Bay, Hein giving some much needed height in the goal circle & Manning & Coon working well together with clever passing into the circle. Kalli Nele & Bree Harris were giving their all in the goal circle for the Eagles but Demons captain Alana Berkefeld went up a gear & got some crucial touches for the Bay. Port Mac won the quarter, but sll trailed by 1 goal at 3 quarter me, Hatherleigh in the lead 28-27 at the final break.

Port Mac came out firing in the last quarter & Hatherleigh struggled to have the answers. Erin Watson was pung in a mighty effort through the middle for the Eagles but Pt Mac’s ght defence saw them slowly gaining the upper hand. Megan Hein was having a terrific last quarter at GA, piling on some much needed goals for the Demons. Hatherleigh called some taccal changes - Telfer coming back on to WA, youngster Nele moving out to GA, Harris back to GS, Vanderhorst to GK & Redden to the bench. It was however the Demons that had momentum, Hein finishing strong in goals & Pt Mac’s defence holding up, making it difficult for the Eagles to score. Port Mac ran away with the win - final score 39-32. Best for the Bay were Megan Hein and Alana Berkefeld, while it was Erin Watson & Elly Redden who took the honours for the Eagles.

Robe v Nangwarry

To start this round between the young Nangwarry side and the more experienced Robe, Nangwarry won the toss and had the first centre pass. But the strong defence and great hands from the Roosters quickly turned that over and the first score came from GA, Sarah Laurie. Through the first quarter, Nangwarry took some me to sele in their posions and found it hard to get the ball into their goal circle, due to the defensive pressure all the way down the court from the Roosters. Robe's C, Annie Hunter and WA, Lucy Perkins using their speed onto the circle to help her team score quickly through the fieen minutes. Kayla Gray in GK for the Saints had some great intensity and pressure but was unable to shut down the goalies from scoring 19 goals for the quarter, Sarah Laurie scoring 12 of those. Nangwarry was unable to score in the first term.

At the first break, Nangwarry were the only ones to make changes, bringing on Taysha Marshall into WD, making changes in the

centre court and moving Lacey Neale's height back into GK. The changes and fresh legs helping Nangwarry to score their first goal for the game and the first goal for the second term. Nangwarry's Maddi Stephens at C was able to slow her team down and steady them, with Alice Circelli at WA using her voice to help movate her team. The Roosters GD Alex Neale and WD Sophie Bates, showed their strength with intercepts and amazing pressure over the ball. While down the other end of the court, the combinaon of Sarah Laurie and captain Demi Carter in goals was hard to beat, with their movement in the circle, passing and Demi Carter's shoong accuracy flawless, the Roosters were able to add another 17 to their score.

Nangwarry's young team were able to find their range in this quarter, with shooters Sheridan Sakkers and Ebony Wurst scoring a team high of 9 in the quarter

At the main break, it was only the Robe girls that made any changes, moving Annie Hunter to WD and Sophie Bates into C, and the goalies changing their posions. The changes certainly didn't slow down the pace of the Roosters side. Both Lucy Perkins and Sophie Bates working relessly to get the ball smoothly into their shooters, who again, moved beaufully in their goal circle. Young gun Ebony Wurst using her speed and movement in the circle for the Saints, giving them a lile li with her hard work and helped her teammate Sheridan Sakkers find her range further out from the post. Nangwarry's Alice Circelli and Maddi Stephens worked overme in the centre court, and the pressure from Taysha Marshall at WD helped the team to sele. Aer a collision Robe's goal circle, Lacey Neale decided to take a break, bringing back on young Jemma Glynn into defence. The Rooster's were able to score 15 for the quarter, Sarah Laurie scoring 11 of those. Nangwarry scoring 5.

The final term was going to show the experience and fitness of the Rooster's side. Captain Demi Carter scoring a game high of 12 for the quarter, with 100% accuracy, helping her team get an impressive 21 for the quarter. Their score did not reflect though, the hard work by both Kayla Gray and Jemma Glynn in defence for the Saints. Saints centre court had been changed again at the break, but the speed and talent of Sophie Bates just made it too hard for Saints to keep possession of the ball. Ebony Wurst found range from further out for the Saints and helped the Saints score 5 for the last quarter, her hard work was enough to get herself in the best players for Nangwarry, as did the endless effort from Kayla Gray in defence. Robe’s best players from the pressure and effort of Annie Hunter and the accuracy and strength from Demi Carter in their goal circle. The final score Nangwarry 19 to Robe 72.
