THINK! ROAD SAFETY ROUND

This weekend sees the THINK! Road Safety Round take place throughout South Australian Community Football League matches across the State.

A joint iniave between the Department for Infrastructure and Transport's THINK! Road Safety program and SANFL Community Football, the round aims to highlight fague and country driving to help inform and influence football club members and the wider community.

Road Safety rounds were introduced in 2015, and have become an annual event within Community Football fixtures. While promong road safety, the Round also seeks to encourage road safety conversaons within the football club environment (and local community) – with the aim of reducing road trauma.

Taking care on our roads is a responsibility we all bear. We share the roads, we must share the responsibility. Losing loved ones or having them injured is everyone's worst nightmare. There are no beer places than footy clubs, especially in country towns, to educate our community on road safety awareness. We recognise that football plays a pivotal role in connecng communies across regional South Australia. Sadly, it's football players like you, your mates and your communies that are oen rocked by road trauma when crashes occur in regional areas.

Each player across all four grades this week will wear a yellow armband to remember the lives lost or those who have been impacted by road trauma. In addion to this the THINK! Road Safety Round Best On Field Decision Medal to the player who shows the best sportsmanship and teamwork will be awarded in both Reserves and A Grade matches.

A REST COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE THIS FOOTY SEASON –TAKE A BREAK EVERY 2 HOURS.

football club notes

As we head down the road to one of the biggest rivalries in country footy, the sun was out and once again we had a perfect day for footy as the Seniors looked to connue the mid-season improvement and once again hold the Max Mahews Cup which has now been in our hands for numerous years and will remain there for another year

Thanks goes to our Junior Game Day Sponsors Autocare Mt Gambier, Rarcoola Structural, The Rocks Shop, MT Wheels & 3MP as game day sponsors and weekly award sponsors in – The Roadhouse, Country Atude, Spot On, Bunnings, Aussie Disposals, Sorrentos, OK Pie Shop, KD's Deli, Intersport, Doughnut King, Wendy's, McDonalds, Compton Street Bakers Delight & Boost Juice and Killara Food Court sponsoring our weekly Junior Club Encouragement award.

Under 11: Kicking the dew of the grass Glencoe was bathed in sunshine as Boxy’s troops to the field to show their connual improvement & development once again. The game play is there for all to see and the teamwork amongst our youngest footballers in the way the look for each other is only going to set them up well for their future years. If you can, please make the me one weekend to get out and support this great bunch of kids. A huge thank you to our game day awards sponsors in Wendys, McDonalds, Doughnut King & Compton Street Bakers Delight with the awards going to Kaleb, Marley, Leo, Syd, Saxon, Bobby, Frank & Spencer

Junior Colts: The junior colts have shown the last few weeks they are playing some good footy and looked to be evenly matched up against Glencoe and in for another good game. Throughout the 4 qtrs we looked to have more than our fair share of the footy but just couldn't quite get reward for effort through the big scks. With the older players in the group having a tough bale on their hands, it was the younger brigade who stood up and showed what they can do. Unfortunately, wasn’t the young maggies day but sll in the mix as we look forward to baling the Hawks this week. Best players went to Preston – Spot On, Jakobe – Bunnings, Koby – OK Pie Shop, Harvey – Bakers Delight, Aiden – Coaches Award and Nathan MurdockKillara Food Court encouragement award.

Senior Colts: Having a couple of lads unavailable we were even shorter than normal. Full credit to Will, Pricey & the Glencoe lads for making sure we had a game. It was played in the best spirits with players from both sides having a crack but sll plenty of enjoyment had. The effort from both Will & his players meant we got another game this year

Reserves: The ever-revolving door of players connued for our Ressies side as sll can’t get players seled each week but with the addion of Lachy McCann up from the junior colts managed to get a side on the park. Auldy spent the 1st half juggling magnets around to try and find the right mix and all game managed to stay with Glencoe but could never quite hit the lead at any stage and ended up down by 18 points at the final siren. Best players went to Isaac, Tommy Jerome, Lachy McCann, Johnny, Leo & Blommy

Seniors: The connual welcoming of Senior Colts into senior footy connued as Lynsey was able to present 1st gamer Axel Page with his senior guernsey for his debut. On top of this was able to acknowledge to reless contribuons from Scoy Agnew in his 100th and Dyl (Bogwash) Barlow in his 150th games. Aer recording our 1st win for the season the week before against Tant, Lynsey was looking for a repeat effort from the lads as they took on Glencoe in perfect condions for footy and to hang on to the Max Mahews Cup for another year. The maggies jumped out of the blocks in the 1st with quality ball movement from stoppages and making use of the smaller ground to our forwards who capitalised on the good work up the ground. Holding Glencoe to a single point for the quarter whilst kicking 7.4 showed some ominous signs for the Murphies. The 2nd qtr proved a bit more of a grind with our tackling pressure lied and not allowing the Murphies an easy run at the contest while sll controlling the stoppages around the ground. Scoring proved a lile tougher with adding 3.1 to Glencoe 1 goal 3 and a commanding 55-point lead at the main break. As expected, the Murphies came out aer half me throwing everything at the maggies by increasing pressure across the ground however we were able to weather the storm with the backline holding strong and increased the margin at the final break to 73 points. With the sun starng to disappear behind the trees and the day cool off the final qtr Lynsey was able to shuffle the magnets around a bit and rest a few and allow a bit more game me for a few others as ended up with a commanding 68 point win. Best players went to Toota, Jaggs, Weap, S-Mack, Rocket & Manes. Next up we welcome the ever-improving Hawks in what will no doubt be a tough bale in the

Road Safety Round and make sure to hang around aer for presentaons,

football club notes

Another warm day for football last week as we hosted Glencoe. A tough day in the office but plenty to take from it.

Under 11: The young Hawks came up against a very even Glencoe side. They struggled with the wet ball which is something we can work on at trainings. Their determinaon to win the contest and apply pressure to the ball never lets them down. Awards: Intersport: Mason Lile, Presidents: Nash Brant, Coaches Award: Ted Ellis, Club Award: Jack Maidment, Brant Family: Jack McKenzie, and Donut King: Iziah Hunt.

Auskick: Thank you to the Glencoe kids and parents that stayed for Auskick and geng around this young group of kids. All kids got plenty of the ball, which kept the crowd very entertained. Award was the Club Award which went to Max Von Stanke.

Junior Colts: A great day for footy as we played host to Glencoe. Unfortunately, we failed to put a score on the board. The effort was there, but we as a team need to commit to building our skills. It takes every player to feed the ball down to score a goal, every player to aack and every player to defend. Your role is not over unl the final siren. We will connue to grow our skills and combine this with the effort we have all shownthen we are going to see some posive results. Keep enjoying your footy. Awards went to Koby Galloway (Lucas Family), Jimmy Whiy (Spot on Fishing), Hunter Bingham (Aussie Disposals), Angus Maidment (Janeway Plumbing), Connor Gordon (Lucas Family) and Havvi Beard (Paradise Pizza).

Senior Colts: Round 4 we returned home looking to extend our winning run to three as we faced Glencoe fresh off the bye. There was no sluggish start from our opposion who were quick to get going, surging the ball forward and running from behind at every opportunity. Our group struggled to win ground balls and secure the football in the contest allowing the free running Glencoe team opportunies to win the loose ball and connue to drive it forward. Our defence was resolute early and we did well to keep the ball out of dangerous areas but it was only a maer of me before their clearance dominance would materialise on the scoreboard. For brief periods we aempted to control the speed of play and deny our opponents the

football but with a diminishing work rate as the margin grew our periods with ball in hand were short lived. Heading into the bye we now have two weeks to get to work on the areas of our game that were lacking on the weekend as we look to get back on the winners list. Awards went to Jai Hillstone, Blake Telford, Toby McKinnon, Sam Ruwoldt, Judd Cordy and Sam Pearce.

B Grade: On a day that seemed more suitable for sing at the beach than playing a game of footy, we came up short against a well drilled Glencoe team. Again we dipped into our Senior Colts to help us out and again they led the way with their efforts. We are building a good group of young players and most pleasingly our senior players are seng the right examples on the field, regardless of the scoreboard. We created a lot of forward movements but we turned the ball over too much and gave them back the ball in dangerous areas for us. We will regroup over the bye and go again. Whilst we didn’t get a win we had a lot of good contribuons. Michael Waters and Brad Long saw a heap of the footy. Toby, Blake, Harrison and debutant Samuel were excellent with courage, class and effort. Sean Maddern and Bohdi Pannenburg worked relessly and Declan Wright shook of the Rona and connued his excellent start to the year. Thank you to Award sponsors, BCF, Pick Avenue Deli, The Commercial Hotel, Collins Court Butchers and the club.

A Grade: Aer a win last week the boys started ok, not great, but held their own. They were in the race at half me, and came out aer the main break and played some average footy. Half way through the 3rd, Glencoe started geng a run on which our boys couldn't steady Unfortunately Glencoe ended up with a decent win. The bye has come at a good me to rest a few sore boys and regain some injured players back in the mix. Awards went to Elliot Modra (Collins Court Butcher), Jacob Arthurson (The Commersh), Brandon Kranz (Club Tea Award), Sjaakie Duivenvoorde (Club Tea Award), Dan Hann (Pick Ave Deli) and Tom Hunter (BCF).

Just a reminder that we have a mock wedding at The Commersh aer our Kalangadoo game. Make sure to get involved as there is plenty of roles to fill.

Junior Colts: Another tough loss for the boys last week but sll plenty of good things to come out of it. Sonny had his best game of the season. He showcased his silky skills down all over the ground and earned himself best player. Mostyn also starred proving that not only can be solid down back but also in the middle. Reed also connued his dominance around the ground and in the ruck. Hunter also had a change of role and spent some me up forward with Archer and both got themselves into the best. Looking forward to this week as we take on Robe.

Senior Colts: Senior colts had a tough game of football against a very determined Hatherleigh side coming away with a 14 point win in perfect condions. If it wasn’t for our second quarter efforts this game certainly would have gone the other way. Wishing Declan Richardson a speedy recovery.

B Grade: With 8 players out of last week’s team and a trip to Hatherleigh to take on a quality side, there would have been a few nervous supporters watch us take the field. A quarter later and a 6 goal to 0 term by Hatherleigh didn’t insl them with much confidence. To the boys credit they really put in from that point on and managed to hold the Eagles to 3 goals in the next two quarters while geng one goal ourselves. In the last quarter we threw the magnets around and tried some people in different posions and we learnt a bit more about some of our players. Best players were DJ, Thwaitsey, Myles and 2 Senior Colt boys (Max Hunt & Campbell Hateley) who both

impressed in their first games of senior footy. Thanks to everyone that helped out on the day.

A Grade: What a super frustrang day. Aer a decent start and a compeve first half playing the Mt Burr brand of footy it was disappoinng to see how the game unfolded aer half me. We did so many things right in the first half both defensively and offensively, which ended in a great lesson proving you have to do it consistently for four quarters! Credit goes to Hatherleigh who played a great consistent hard-working team brand of footy. This is something that we want to pride ourselves on this season and games like this gives you a good indicaon of how effecve it can be. We will make sure we keep trying to improve week to week and geng the best out of our group on the training track. Congratulaons to Liam and Harrison on making your A grade debuts.

ROBE ROOSTERS

football club notes

Junior Colts: It was a great day for footy, even in the early morning! We were aware that we would have to play an accountable, determined, fast style footy against the Port MacDonnell boys, in order to celebrate a win. During the week our young roosters trained really well, with great enthusiasm and were looking forward to the challenge. By Saturday morning, the number of players available had been reduced to 18, this made the challenge more difficult. Aer a relavely slow start, the boys gained momentum as the game progressed. Their effort and commitment could not be quesoned. We were really proud of the way each player tried their hardest and played their role. When the final siren went, we were 27 points down. Aer the game we had our usual team talk; the boys know the areas of our game that we must work on in order to be compeve or even beat the sides above us. Players considered our stronger performers were Dylan, Conrad, Byron, Boodah, Eli, Harry and Nate. Now for this week and the young 'Burr Boys'. Anything less than the same atude and performance as last week will be disappoinng and make life difficult for us.

Reserves: Wow, it's been a long me since we had a win like that. Koki is going to have to have a big week on the track to get back in charge aer his week off. 11 goalkickers and winners all over the ground, the game was set up in the first half with great teamwork

and enthusiasm. Our young runners worked hard all day Flynn (6 goals) and the two Ollie's running all day, Big Birdy played his best game for the year. Miller and Dawson (5 goals) rounded out the best. The boys are really enjoying their footy this year and it shows on and off the field. If you haven't seen a game yet, do yourself a favour. The Mozzies this week, let's make sure we don't get stung and we keep the season rolling along. See you at the footy and don't forget the Rooster Ball tonight at long me sponsor Sails. Go Roosters.

A Grade: It was a typical hard fought contest between the 2 seaside towns on Saturday The first quarter was even, we could’ve dominated the scoreboard but our kicking at goal let us down, with Pt Mac kicking straight. Aer the first, our defence ghtened up and our forwards straightened up. We only allowed Pt Mac to kick 3 goals in the last 3 quarters, to our 14. Our beer fitness and run allowing us to get on top and have a convincing win. Wokka led the way again in the ruck along with Zac Deane at CHB. Dins connued his great form on ball and our captain Henry Lawrie led by example all day. Jordan Pet was strong at the contest throughout the game, also seng up play off the half back line. Sam Bates had a cracker of a game as a small forward kicking 5 and Smithy kicked a steady 4. Big game coming up at the Burr this Saturday. See you all there!

Sporng clubs would not survive without sponsorship, so we thank you very much.

Under 11: The young Saints took on the Tigers on a reasonably chilly morning with the boys connually improving with a number of goals kicked.

Junior Colts: Travelled to Tant last week and was a pearler morning for football. We set out to be really aacking early and be first to the footy all day and feel we achieved that. We owned a lot of the ball in our forward half, just really needed to get more bang for buck from our inside 50s. Could not be happier with every member of the team we took over to match with the Tant squad. Plenty of even contributors all game and really well fought out match right to the end

Senior Colts: Another excellent game to give us our 3rd win in a row. The guys started really strongly in the first quarter kicking the first 7 goals of the game playing some really posive aacking football and with a very even team performance throughout the day we ended up having a really big win. It is a credit to the hard work the guys have put in over the off season and great to see some good results. It was great to see the Tantanoola side who were undermanned fight it out ll the end but who especially played the game in

fantasc spirit. Mulple goal kickers were Elwood Geary with 6 goals and the Dohnts BP Servo award in his best game at the club, Bay McKinnon 4 goals, Calais Borman 4 goals, Noah Virtanen 3 goals, Bo Sampson 2 goals and it was great to see our new full back Oliver Capewell who is playing his first season of footy kick his first ever goal. Other award winners were Harry Hicks with the Spud Train, Riley Edwards Nangwarry canteen, Wya Balshaw the Ok Pie Shop and other best players were Rhys Grigg, Archer Virtanen and Toby Grigg. Just quick shout out to Taz who help us out a couple of weeks ago with goal umpiring the 17s even though everything else he has on his plate. Also to Stevie Virtanen, Vesa Virtanen, Ben Geary, Jason Edwards, Rachael Manninen and Gobba and the trainers and the kids who run the boundary who help us out every week and to everyone who helps out on a Saturday who I have missed. This week we have an enormous challenge against top of the ladder Glencoe at home.

B Grade: Was a hard game against Tantanoola who have improved a lot in the off season. We went there with the mind set of winning the game but unfortunately couldn't get the job done, we had our chances through the game but unfortunately didn't make the most of it. With a few injuries early in the game that probably didn't help but that's footy. Hopefully we can head into this week with a few key ins and really challenge Glencoe.

A Grade: Far from the start we wanted giving Tantanoola too much space, uncontested possession and clear ball movement into their forward 50. Although we did manage to claw back some credibility in the quarter with 3 goals against the breeze we sll found ourselves 4 goals down at the first break. Aer some changes and a gentle reminder of our roles the boys played passages of good football for the remaining 3 quarters outscoring the opposion 10 goals to 9 but finally going down by a margin of 23pts. A neutral feeling in the end as we take a lot of posives from the game but also a lot to work on. Again we are very buoyed by the performance of our 3 senior colts and the excitement they bring to the table week in week out.

Goal scorers were Andy Hyland 5, Noah Virtanen 2, Thomas Vanderhorst 2, Brodie Parsons, Harry Hicks and Brodie Arundell 1 each.

Best players George McWaters, Lennox Lewis, Brodie Arundell, Ty Dinnison, Joel Virtanen and Thomas Vanderhorst. This week we take on Glencoe and we are pumped to be back on our home deck.

football club notes seniors

Round six was upon us with another beauful day we welcomed arch-rivals Kalangadoo to our home ground with a large crowd in aendance.

Under 11: A few less numbers than Kdoo, meaning they leant us a few and that is the beauty of the U11 format, mix and match and make it work. Well played kids, connuing to improve week by week. Dion's Auskickers enjoyed an early morning game too, a great success with happy kids everywhere.

senior colts

junior colts

Junior Colts: A close game being an arm wrestle early with both sides having some chances but not taking them, it was during the second term where we jumped ahead with an 11 point lead at the half me and finishing with an amazing 29 point win. The improvement in the first 5 rounds has been great. Best again was brother and sister combinaon Hamish and Annebelle, Hamish connuing to use his precision kicking all day. He finished the day with three goals. They were well supported by young Maxy E and Harley who also finished with three goals. Jasmine rounded out the best playing well in defence.

Senior Colts: Kdoo is where we were in 2022, low on numbers and each week was tough. Will made sure to mix the game up as much as possible sharing nearly every player with Kalangadoo, hopefully the Kdoo boys enjoyed having some extra hands for the day and remember to sck together as a team and connue to enjoy playing footy. For us we ran away with a 44-point win which puts us 5-0 to start the season,

something we haven't done for a very long me. Best for the day was Dan F who's been dangerous all year finishing the day with 7 goals and when playing for Kdoo he passed off a number of goals, Lachy and Kallan played well in the mid, Tighe, Tommy played well and Blakey kicked a couple of nice goals too.

B Grade: We welcomed back a number of returning players into the team and congratulated our milestone men Bruiser, Jezza and Dorp. The first quarter we owned the ball before the second term it became a slog with a close game. Bruiser kicked a nice goal during the second term to sele the troops. During the third we kicked 2 unanswered goals and hit an 18-point lead and holding it to the end. Best for us was captain Bater, Harry, Ben down back, Trent and Tom J. The Ressie boys are now sing 3-2 moving onto Nangwarry!

A Grade: A disappoinng result and game when the Max 'Spud' Mahews Cup was up for grabs. It's been too long since we last won it. The first quarter Kdoo piled on early goals while we were asleep at the wheel. The second quarter was much of the same not hing the scoreboard oen enough. Aer making some adjustments the second half saw the score look a bit more respectable but we were never really in the game. Our best were Aiden and Jacob who played four quarters of footy. Looking forward to hing the field again this week. Scoreboard pressure early boys, good luck. See you at Nangwarry

Junior Colts: Last week we played Nangwarry back on home turf. Aer coming off a loss the kids were hungry to get back the win. It was a tough bale all day with both sides going goal for goal with it being a draw at the half the kids knew they didn't too really step up a gear if they wanted to win. With a lot of run and link up we were able to get the win by just 7 points with best players being Kobe Bromley, Jayden Hunter, first year player Julian Silva, Charlie Bromley, Jedd Hardingham and Maxx Bevan who took a hard hit and was able to get up and kick 2 goals

Senior Colts: On another beauful day for footy we come up against a strong Nangwarry team who have recruited well in the off season. Aer a sluggish week on the track we decided to go back to old fashioned footy to try and get a bit of enjoyment in our game. From the first bounce Nangwarry completely dominated us in every aspect of the game. Their hard running and team work a lesson to us on how

footy. Beer players Braydn Hateley tried hard all game, Jake Bevan is having a great season and worked hard all game, Simmo baled hard in the ruck, Chance had a solid 4 quarters and Evan done well when moved up forward. Hopefully we can work hard on the track this week and bring a much improved effort against the Bay

Reserves: Last week in the B grade we played Nangwarry on our home ground. We started the game full of run and we were very impressive moving the ball from our backline through the middle, which gave us lots of forward entries. The boys in the forward line didn't disappoint kicking us a winning score. Minky ended with 4 majors, Marky “the old fossil” slid 3 over the goal umpires hat and Jakey Bev in his first senior game got 2 goals. Well done. We had good players all over the ground but best was Bundy who stopped them from geng at least 10 goals at full back, then Ma Nels and Bommer connued their good form, new player to the club Daniel Hateley got thrown into the ruck and was very impressive. 5th was Kaden Bell in his first senior game. Great day out for Marky Bell who got to play his first game with son Kaden. Well done boys.

A Grade: Last week we had the Saints at home. We got off to an excellent start kicking the first few goals with the wind and linking up well. We went into half me with a slight lead and wanng to keep playing posive football. The 3rd we start well geng on top again. The last quarter we kept fighng but Nangwarry were pung up a fight and slowly working their way back into the game. A lot of decisions didn't go our way for most of the day but was just proud of the way the young group stood up to get the win coming off a disappoinng loss a few weeks back in similar condions and circumstances. The win was a good boost in confidence so keep baling away boys. Best players: Jordan Ha, Brandon Pis, Troy Ha, Cade Kelly, Alec Roberts

NETball club notes

Junior 2: The mini magpies showed some awesome skills with another great game. It is evident we have alot of talent coming up through the grades. All the children started geng their distance, the defence was strong with a tonne of intercepts. All due to the simple change of always being in front. The clearing out is starng to work well. It's always tough to choose best players because they all are excellent, but last week was Ariella White (Penola Recycling) and April Durbidge (OK Pie Shop).

Junior 1: Amazing week for the girls, we worked hard at geng in front and using the space on the court. At training we worked on our shoong technique; this came in handy when using our versale team and could chuck new combinaons in goals. They all shot well focusing on their technique and should be proud. We also focused on blocking out which allowed our defenders to grab more rebounds. All girls played their posion well and should be proud of the improvements they have made throughout the weeks. Best players went to Zali (Penola Recycling) and Aurora (Lolli-pops).

13 & Under: What a game! Another warm day out at Glencoe. All the girls went out and held their heads up, listened and didn’t panick playing their own game to hold an equal score at half me in a hard game. With hard work they connued to pull away to a win. Harper has improved so much she valued at either posion at WD or WA with great ming and safe hands received the Fasta Pasta award. Zara received Penola Recycling for her athlec running in C unl she did her finger in the very last minutes in the last quarter. We sll need to pracce cung in front of our players and using a second opon towards our goalies which we definitely try at training. Keep going everyone, we can see improvement happening every game.

15 & Under: A tough encounter against Glencoe where we needed to work harder to be in front and push our passes into the space. We had some really nice passages of play, but there is sll lots for us to work on, including naming our passes. Emmity (OK Pie Shop) got some strong balls and Kiersten ran the game out well at centre. Molly (Fasta Pasta) had another fabulous game with lots of touches and some strong rebounds. Lucy shot accurately and Lexie made some nice feeds. Zoe used her speed well and got plenty of touches. Ella picked up some loose balls and connues to work hard. We missed Ava and look forward to her being back on the court soon!

17 & Under: A consistent game and we played out the whole 4 quarters. I got distracted by some very cute and noisy cheer leaders Gracie and Amelia and am having trouble recalling our game now! Molly (Melzars) and Lily fed our goalies very well which is made easier by the beauful space Georgia is creang. Shayden (Aloha)

is shoong beaufully and presenng well all down the court. As usual our defence gave us a lot of the ball with great communicaon and enthusiasm. Congratulaons Maya, Georgia, Ellie and Shayden on making the MIDSE team for country champs!

B Reserve: A ght lile tussle for our girls, once again showing the strength and versality that we have in our supporng players. With mulple players unavailable we saw Ash and Molly step up from 17s and slot in well with our senior girls. Ash (Globe Hotel) managed to shut her player down early by denying her access down the court and in to the circle. She combined beaufully with Gem who supplied a lot of voice in the defensive end and a lot of pressure on her opponent. Molly had a run in C during the second half and helped create a lot of space and angles in the aack third. Once again Jodi and Maddi (Gambier City Pharmacy Award) demonstrated how strong their goalie partnership is and were difficult to defend. Our mid court are geng stronger each week with full court pressure, backing each other and creang ball flow. A massive thank you to Rhi and Emily for stepping on and giving some of our bodies a much needed rest.

B Grade: From the very first quarter we knew we had ourselves a tough game. It was ght and we responded well in the second working ourselves into the game. Glencoe’s defensive pressure was ght and we had to really work our way into the goal circle. Our mid courters did an exceponal job at moving the ball around and by the last quarter our flow and movement was outstanding. Our defence end worked relessly all game to ensure that we had many opportunies to score. An excellent game girls. You should all be proud! Best players: Jamie Ryan - Kirralie Jade, Sam Mulraney - Fasta Pasta.

A Reserve: We found ourselves in a tricky situaon being down by 7 at quarter me. To everyone’s credit we stuck with it and pegged back bit by bit. We had great passages of play in aack with Mel and Shayden finishing strong in the goals. Our defence were relentless and worked overme all game to give to aack some much needed opportunies. There are plenty of posives to come out of the game but just as many things to work on. On to the next. Thanks to Ellie and Lucy for sing on our bench. Best players: Re Weatherall (Globe), Shayden Russell (Melzars).

A Grade: A cracking game ladies. We found our rhythm in aack and were a lot more paent with the ball creang plenty of angles and space. Georgias (plural) and Lara in defence were rock solid again, their relentless pressure creates many opportunies for turnovers. Jayde’s talk and leadership in WA was vital and Jane’s splits in the centre were definitely in the 4s. Eb was great in the one on one and again a target for our aack line converng well. Great work ladies.

NETball club notes

We would like to thank our game day sponsors for their support. Round 4 sponsors are South East Pest Control, Sinkhole Gin and Kongorong Football Club.

Junior 1: The girls put in a lot of effort and it definitely paid off The girls were very encouraging of each other and supporve which is great to see. Keep up the good work and bring on next. Best players went to Sienna Buntsma (Kaboom Bowling Award) and Sienna Black (McDonalds Award).

Junior 2: Not supplied.

13 & Under: Great effort girls. We came up against a strong team and it took us way too long to sele and get into the game, but we were able to trial a heap of new combos and get our whole side on the court which was such a great thing to see. It is so important that we take care of each other and play our role because our whole game collapses when we don't. I am very proud of everyone's efforts to run out the game in the warm condions and look forward to a great night at training. Best went to Zoe (Fasta Pasta) and Zayley (Club Voucher) for playing their roles and pung in 100% on the court.

15 & Under: Hard luck girls. Silly errors throughout the game made us drop our heads and let it affect the outcome. We worked hard for loose balls and gained off our turnovers. Things to work on at training will help the game flow Looking forward to dinner to regroup over the bye weekend and play the game that we are so good at. Best players Abby Brant (Birdie Blue), Lily Jacob (The Spot). Also wanted to acknowledge Imogen. Your voice down the court was heard well and im proud of you.

17 & Under: Not a bad game girls! Our first half we seemed half asleep and did not kick into gear unl the last half of the game. Thanks to the 15s again for filling in, Lil and Addy, your presence on court really helped our game. A few different rotaons on both ends of the court really made an impact and saw our spirits

li. Sll some work to be done at trainings but very proud of all your efforts! Best players goes to Ruby Carrigan (Arena), Riley Ellis (Lima and Co).

B Reserve: Was a tough game, but considering it was out of our control we did what we could to get our heads back in the game. I am beyond proud of my team and we have an amazing season ahead. Best players: Zoe Ashby (Elite Supplements) and Robyn Hill (Birdie Blue).

B Grade: Good effort girls, again not in our favour but we never give up, the scoreline never reflects how the game actually feels. Proud that we go out there every week with a winning atude and a smile and great teamwork. Let’s just keep fighng it out, our day will come if we keep showing up like we do. Best players Chloe Weaver (Park Hotel), Maddie Bowd (Bunnings).

A Reserve: The first win of the season! This game we seen all the hard work and effort at training come into play Combinaons came together, transion worked, and goals were scored. Defence worked synchronised all game seeing many turnovers. Best players go to Sarah Lucas playing a relentless game of GK. Sarah received the Commercial Hotel voucher. Best player also went to Kelsey Widdison in GD receiving Birde Blue bouque voucher.

A Grade: Bad luck girls, we went in with the idea that we were going to try a few different things and use the opportunity to have a run. We worked hard but our errors really swung our momentum and we struggled to get out of the hole we had dug. Let’s use the break to rest our bodies and get back to the strong netball we have started our season with. Best on went to Emily (The Commercial Hotel) and Ebony (Birdie Blue) for playing 4 quarters of relentless defensive pressure. Chins up, let’s go hard this week!

Junior 2: Another fantasc game against a tough opponent. You all gave it your best and didn't give up. Our defence worked hard all game to stay on their players and go for the ball every chance they got. Our aacking end has improved a lot with coming in front to receive their passes and using confident voices. It is great to see you all implement what we were learning at training. Well done girls, you've improved so much! The McDonalds award went to Macy for giving her all, not giving up and trying her hardest to create turnovers on much taller players. The Millicent Toy Kingdom award went to Lacey who created many turnovers with her defensive pressure and shot goals with high accuracy Junior 1: The girls fought hard in a tough game. We had lots of great transion down the court and our movement was much beer. It was great to see our goalies trying to implement what we pracced at training and everyone working hard to reoffer when needed. Awards went to Eva (McDonalds), Indi (Toy Kingdom) and Malda (Boost). Thanks to Olivia for umpiring.

13 & Under: Bad luck girls, not our day We had just as much of the play as Hatherleigh, but they finished stronger than us. We have to keep level heads when we are behind on the scoreboard. Paence, paence and paence with each other and moving the ball all over the court. We had some great passages of play throughout the game, but we need to do this for 4 quarters. We will learn from this game and keep working hard at training and improve on certain parts of our game. Thanks to Simone for umpiring and Jay for scoring. Awards went to Poppy - Melzar, Isabelle - Toy Kingdom and Wren - Fasta Pasta.

15 & Under: Bad luck girls, it was a tough game, but there was mulple passages of play I was so proud of. Having the ability to look down the court and come to the ball was amazing. We've got a few things to work on, but let's train hard and get the next one! Best players Holly Lowndes - Melzar award and Stella Davis - Ackys Deli.

17 & Under: A tough game to come up against aer the week off. The 2nd quarter showed what we can do when passes are out in front and we treasure the ball. It is important to talk to each other and celebrate successes, especially when a few things don't go our way. We

can work on ght 1 on 1 defence all over the court and passing to space in the goal circle. We had some great passages of play out of defence. When we drive hard and reoffer aer losing our player, the game flows freely. We have the skill and determinaon to force errors, which is something we can work on doing with consistency. Abbey created space through the centre court winning her the Sports Power award. Kaylah played ght 1 on 1 defence, having strong drives down court winning her the Acky's award. Thanks to Nathan for scoring and Jodie for umpiring.

B Reserve: Mt Burr 32 defeated by Hatherleigh 49. We worked really hard as a team to stay in this game. I was really proud of the way we kept our heads against a very strong opposion. Our aack and desire for the ball was equal to our opponents. Let's keep working hard on our spacing and ming and we will begin to find some wins. Thanks to Sarah Sigston who took the court for us in the last half. Best on went to Kelly Dunnicliff & Karen Hayward. Thanks to Muffin Break, Subway & Fasta Pasta for our awards.

B Grade: Coming off the bye we didn't start as strong as we normally do leng Hatherleigh gain a 10 point lead in the first quarter, which we were unable to claw back. Second quarter saw us gain control of the ball making some great drives down the court and applying defensive pressure on the Hatherleigh goalies, Madi was once again strong in goals with support from Sienna. We welcome back Nic aer games off due to concussion. Stacey, Caity, Nic working well together in defensive to try and gain a few intercepts. Zoe, Bri, Jaimie and Lilly working the ball down the court and feeding the goalies. We can take a lot away from this game. So proud of you all for fighng all the way to the end. Let’s work hard at training and come out firing this week. Thanks to Dawn for umpiring and Karen for scoring. Awards: Grand Hotel - Sienna, Ginos - Zoe, ZamberosJaimie, Fasta Pasta - Caity

A Reserve: In the opening quarter, we emerged with intensity, fiercely contesng every ball and matching Hatherleigh goal for goal, though trailing by just one at the quarter's end.

Recognising the need to maintain our momentum, we made a few changes heading into the second quarter Unfortunately, we threw away a lot of balls, allowing Hatherleigh to capitalise and extending their lead to eight by halime. Despite our efforts, errors connued, resulng in a deficit of 17 points entering the final quarter. Though we connued to fight, Hatherleigh's great defence and accurate shoong was too strong, resulng in a final score with a 20 goal difference. Moving forward, there are areas we need to work on. Best players for the day were Simone Westerman, who consistently disrupted Hatherleigh's offence and created turnovers at every opportunity, and Ava Smith-Muhovics, who was consistent and strong in the goal ring all day

A Grade: Aer coming off the bye we were eager to hit the court. We had another close game, coming away with a 2 goal win. With a very physical game, it was our composure & effort that got us over the line. We fell back on what we have been working on at training, it was really great to see. Thank you Lisa for umpiring and Sam for scoring. Awards went to Madi (K&S Fuels), Chloe (Somerset), Laura (Heaven on a Hanger), Ella (Sportspower), Danika (Zambreros).

NETball club notes robe

A Grade: Robe 38 def Pt Mac 37. Coming up against Port Mac was always going to be a tough fight. Starng off the first quarter very even with both aacking lines capitalising on their goals. Ending the first quarter 11-11. Robe's defence line picked up the intensity in the goal circle & Sophie Bates (Coaches award –Oosons Real Estate) reading the play extremely well to get a couple of clean intercepts. Robe’s aack ensured they rewarded this by keeping possession of the ball & adding to the scoreboard. Ashlee Hunt & Demi Carter shoong with great accuracy. Heading into the last quarter Port Mac weren't going down without a fight. Both teams started strong however unfortunately Robe started to run out of legs allowing Port Mac to creep back into a one goal difference. Luckily Robe just holding onto the lead, finishing off the game winning 38-37. Calcua went to Demi Carter (Holiday Trading Co/Naracoorte Sportspower) who showed great captaincy & consistency throughout the whole game. We look forward to facing Mt Burr in another tough match this weekend.

A Reserve: Robe 46 def Pt Mac 38. It was a close game against Port Mac, being close margins in the first half. Robe lied the intensity in the 3rd and 4th quarter, bringing us to an 8 goal lead at the final whistle. The teamed flowed well down the court, with a very new team this year the girls have found their feet. Ella and Libby held strong in the circle, and were supported by the accuracy of feeding from Camille and Alex in mid court. The defensive pressure definitely supported our win, Hannah and Jess fighng for turnovers at every opportunity Annabelle won the coaches award (Oosons Real Estate), working hard for the whole four quarters and applying pressure to the Port Mac forward line. Alex got the Calcua (Holiday Trading Co), her first game in C, she brought the intensity to every minute of the game, being a great support to the whole team! Looking forward to next weekend.

B Grade: Robe 29 def by Pt Mac 43. What a pleasure to coach this posive group of ladies, coaching might be a bit of an overstatement but with an experienced TM by my side I feel we had a good crack. Thanks to Stacey Wirth for helping out along with our other stalwart supporters on the sideline. The team were keen to listen and have a go for Alex and never gave up, their opmism was infecous. Sienna and Billie held their space well, Phoebe, Tamara and Kate kept the mid court flowing while Nikita guided Georgie in our defensive goal circle. Unfortunately, Billie went down with injury in the third giving Tilly a cameo appearance in GD and C. All players maintained composure against a challenging opposion and I look forward to seeing a win from our next encounter with The Bay. Calcua Nikita (Holiday Trading Co) and Coaches award to Kate (Oosons Real Estate).

B Reserve: Robe 21 def by Pt Mac 59. Coming up against the top team we knew was going to be a hard slog. The Ressie girls played with composure and held their own well. I feel like I say it every week but as always the defence worked hard all game which definitely helped define the final score. Fresh legs from Kyah stepping up for her first Roosters senior game helped Neve get a rest in, which showed when she stepped back on the court and did amazing in WA. Calcua went to Livvy (Holiday Trading Co) in GA and coaches went to superstar

Amalie (Oosons Real Estate) who stepped in to help us out as we were short in numbers.

17 & Under: Robe 29 def by Pt Mac 45. The under 17s had a great team game. Using forward movements and creang space in the first quarter. Our mid court worked hard all game and kept persistent. 3rd quarter bought great defence with Georgie and Olivia working together in the ring. Our shooters Millie and Kiana shot well and moved great together in the goal circle. Best player went to Tilly Yeo (Salubrious Hour) and coaches award to Leni Carruthers (Denton's Sportspower).

15 & Under: Robe 30 def by Pt Mac 53. Union Café/Denton's Sportspower. One of the strongest first halves the girls have had. They had some really great passages of play all game, pung into play what we worked on at training; leading towards the ball and passing in to the space. Unfortunately, our second half was our down fall. Port Mac geng a few turnovers from their defensive pressure saw the Robe girls drop their heads and in the end not being able to get that score back up. Definitely going to work on shoong accuracy and staying posive going forward. Kaitley was strong for all 4 quarters in centre earning her best player (Union Café) for the day while Tess once again showed her versality earning her my coaches award (Denton's Sportspower). Bad luck girls, hopefully we can hold our own this week and get another win on the board.

13 & Under: Robe 16 def by Pt Mac 17. Wow! Well done girls, you all put in 110%! Our goal was to go out as a team, work together, support each other posively and back each other up and in my eyes we came out with the win! Well done! What an amazing game, unfortunately we went down by just one point, but every single one of you put your all in, learning from our small mistakes from our previous game and it paid off. It really was simply stunning to watch! Livia, stood out and took home my coaches award (Denton's Sportspower) for using her voice, driving forward and direcon of play down the court. Lacey, our best on (Naracoorte Sportspower), went the full four quarters in centre, fast yet controlled, chasing up loose balls and helping on the ring at both ends. Let's keep up the good work moving forward and let's finish off the first half of the season strong!

Junior 1: What a game! The girls played “netball” and it was very evident you all are taking in what we are doing at trainings. Using dodges to get in front of our players, leading into space and watching each other before we make our leads. Our 2 court plays we worked on showed in the game with all of you working your role! Well done girls! Really looking forward to see what the girls can produce in weeks to come. Coaches award (Robe Netball Club) went to Amelie for her hard driving and determinaon.

Junior 2: Our girls faced another very experienced side, but they gave it their absolute all and had a great game. This week in training we really focused on trying to improve our passing and it was great to see the girls moving the ball with shorter, more accurate passes… a big improvement from last game’s rogue passing. We are so pleased with how well everyone takes on individual feedback and tries hard to improve their own game. Incenves went to Ava (Robe Netball Club), always playing with a smile and trying hard, well done!

NETball club notes

13 & Under: Great game all, our last half was amazing, exactly how I want you to play for 4 quarters. Very scrappy first half but kept plugging away having some great court plays and taking many intercepts. Last half we really got on top in aack and started to come forward to the ball and not depend on height. Used the ring well and drove hard down the court was excellent. Defence worked hard turning ball over a lot, lots of pressure and some good driving out. Good to see some good transion down court. Best were Darcy and Tahlia.

15 & Under: It was a pleasure playing against Tantanoola and great to see so much improvement in the Nangwarry team. A fantasc fight in the 2nd half by the Nangwarry girls but Tantanoola were just too strong. Great plays by both team and a great game to watch. Well done Tantanoola.

B Reserve: Another beauful sunny day, this me at the home of the Tigers. Tantanoola came out strong from the first whistle. Nangwarry put up an amazing fight, and had a great 2nd and 3rd quarter but just not enough to get us over the line. It's great to see the connued improvement each and every week. Well done Tantanoola on your win

B Grade: We are connuing to improve and we had some good passages of play. Fasta Pasta award went to Nat for giving her all in every posion she played. Let's keep giving it our all. Thank you Heidi for sing bench and Tarnyu for scoring.

A Reserve: In what was another perfect day for netball the game started out well in the first quarter working effecvely in defence creang intercepons and capitalising on rebounds where we could. There were a lot of posives to take out of the game and we can see it's all starng to link up. Although the scoreline blew out we are so proud of how our team played with intensity, posivity, encouragement and having fun.

A Grade: Bad luck girls. We always knew it was going to be a really tough game and there's a reason why Tant are where they are on the ladder. However if we drop our heads and feel defeated early in the game it's only going to make things harder for ourselves. The last quarter we came back together as a team and really started to feel the posive vibes again. Remembering to set ourselves small achievable goals, it will help noce the posives in the tough games. Let's get around each other again, regroup and train hard so we can connue to improve. Best players Lacey Neale and Scarle Black.

We wish Alice Tentye all the best in her 50th Club Game today in the A Grade. Congratulaons Alice!

Junior 2: Great effort girls. We were two players down so a big thank you to Shelby and Charloe for filling in from the junior ones. We had a good training on Thursday, and this helped us to transion some different things into our game. Although the ball didn't get down to our goals very much, we all kept our heads up and kept trying the enre game. It's great to see we are all coming into the huddle and listening and trying to do all the things we talk about when the next quarter starts. This week at training we will pracce passing in front of our teammates and adding in some direcons to our leads. It was so nice to end the game with an 'almost' goal! Best players went to Savannah for her big hands in defence and following her player and Malda for making some big leads at WA. Well done everyone.

Junior 1: Wow wow wow! Everyone played such an amazing game and I think it was your best game yet. Everyone worked very hard for every minute of the enre game, lots of cheers and encouragement coming from you all. Defence you were everywhere again with hands up, intercepts and rebounds and you worked it out of defence amazingly. Mid court you made adjustments at centre passes and all drove hard and found the space. Goalies had some very impressive shot and worked it well around the circle and were usually rewarded with a goal. Best went to Ruby, you were everywhere in defence and drove to the ball, just need to work a lile harder on your passes. Encouragement went to Shelby, you adjusted well when you went from goals to defence and kept pung in the effort. Good luck with your surgery Billy, we will miss you out there! Well done everyone, it was a great game to watch!

13 & Under: Glencoe 32 lost to Kalangadoo 52. A very tough game for us with Kalangadoo having a lot of height all over the court and providing a lot of pressure throughout the whole game. To our credit we started strongly and finished off well with some good shoong from Hallie and Emma who were under a lot of pressure. Our mid court fought hard all day whilst at the defensive end it was a difficult task with so much height in the goal circle. Everyone was quiet and when we are playing tough opposion it is important that we keep talking to one another an encouraging team mates. Best went to Annabelle (Key 2 Sale) & Hallie (Paradise Pizza) with the encouragement award going to Lily who ran hard all game (Paradise Pizza).

15 & Under: Glencoe 39 lost to Kalangadoo 53. Tough game but we all put in, 1st quarter was great! We dropped our heads in the 2nd to allow them to get a few quick ones but we fought back to close the gap, just need to keep offering, change direcon and play our game. Mia, Hallie, Abbie & Lily excellent game girls you stood up to the challenge and were amazing! Best player Ella Stewart, 2nd best Kloe Phillips, encouragement Layla Hawke. Great game overall girls you should be proud!

17 & Under: Glencoe 36 lost to Kalangadoo 78. We knew this was always going to be a tough hard game. Started well in the 1st quarter then dropped our heads for the rest, we had

some good patches of play with great leading & drive down the court. Our mid court defensive pressure is one of our strong points with everyone pung lots of pressure on & hands over ball. Plenty to work on at training to keep us improving, let's all listen & try different things. Best players: McKayla Maney & Alyssa Medhurst, encouragement: Amelie Cary

B Reserve: Glencoe 52 lost to Kalangadoo 60. Well done girls, despite the small loss, it was great to see how much we've improved from day one when not many of us had played together before. We had a change of our defensive combinaon this week with Imogen and Jorja O working well together, collect many rebounds. Lauren and Jorja B did some excellent moving in the goal circle to create space for each other. There was some great running down the court from Alarna, Jas and Caitlyn who were always reliable opons. We kept close in score all game, unfortunately in the last quarter we just ran out of legs and it took us too long to warm up again aer the final break. With those efforts we have a real shot next me! Best players were Caitlyn and Jorja Owen.

B Grade: Good game girls. Always disappoinng not to get the win but we stayed with a top team for three quarters and I'm proud of our efforts. We are very close to pulling some of these wins off! Well done to Bel and Bri for fantasc games in the goal ring. Your posioning and accuracy were fantasc. Defence worked relessly all day. Well done for working on transions during the week and pung that into pracce on game day. A very well deserved best player went to coach Sally who dominated in defence! Well done Sal for geng so many touches! Overall a solid team performance, let's reset and aim for a strong win next round.

A Reserve: Glencoe 47 lost to Kalangadoo 55. Such an amazing game by the whole team, an absolute polar opposite of the previous week! Both Max and Alannah's movement, created so many opportunies and accuracy was the best we've seen yet! Zoe, being thrown in to centre ripped it up, taking so much iniave and owning it. It was such a shame to see Jessie and Cords go down, we would have had it in the bag. But even without them, we hussled to the end and did a brilliant job!

A Grade: Glencoe 52 lost to Kalangadoo 66. Bad luck girls. All in all it wasn't a bad performance we just weren't switched on for the full four quarters. We had some patches where we let them run away with it at mes and let our heads drop. Most of the errors were our own doing – which means it is up to us to eliminate them from the game. However, we had some posive moments and some good court transion. Parcularly our third quarter was really great, when we focused on our style of play and picked up the defensive pressure. Best went to Alice for a strong defensive game geng lots of pick ups and good defensive transion. Second to Donna for her efforts to win ball in defence and hard running in aack. Thank you to Tameka for hing the court for us – you did a great job. Let’s make sure we sck together as a team, support each other and work hard through these coming weeks.

NETball club notes port macdonnell

Junior 2: Our game against Robe was a spectacular display of young talent and teamwork. Our young girls demonstrated remarkable skills and a deep understanding of the game, making it an excing match. With all 8 girls implemenng skills worked on at training and pung all their enthusiasm into the game it was such a proud moment as a coach to watch the crowd geng behind our young team. Our goalies used the help of our mid court and posioned themselves throughout the goal circle beaufully, ending each centre pass with a scored goal. Aer a quick change around and some fresh legs, our girls went into the second half feeling like winners, their smiles big and their voices loud. It truly was an enjoyable game of netball to watch. Encouragement awards were donated by Arena & Donut King and were awarded to Ruby Carrison & Sophie McRose.

Junior 1: It's amazing to watch the girls improve each week. They work hard at training to build their skills and it is great to see the girls using what they have learned during the game. The encouragement awards went to Emily J (Wendy's) and Lucy (Donut King). Emily moved well and shot fantascally in GS. Lucy ran all game, winning any loose balls.

13 & Under: Robe 16 defeated by Port MacDonnell 17. We had one out last week in Lily Whan due to hurng her wrist. When we started warming up, the vibe was high, the girls all seemed pumped and ready to give it a red-hot crack. Working hard in the defence was Roxy Day who was up and about early, Sharli Manning applying the pressure causing fumbles. Torah Staples was geng clean touches and clearing the ball out of defence. Mid court players applied pressure all the way down the court (Madison Carlin, Lucy Neale and Peyton Bowd). Our aacking end in Evie Jones who had been unwell gave it a red-hot crack in the shoong circle, wouldn't have known she was unwell. Daisee Stanley shot well, sll some work to do with moving and holding but they all going to get there. Hard work does pay off, so much potenal through the whole court just need it to come together like it did last week. Awards: Sharli Manning - Fasta Pasta, Lucy Neale - Donut King.

15 & Under: Robe 30 defeated by Port MacDonnell 53. Another win on the board for our 15s. What a great team we have and so far, it has been a pleasure to coach. Everyone is improving and geng fier and stronger each week. Bailee and Layla are our captains this year and their posive and helpful approach to our younger girls on and off the court is great to see. Yesterday the Fulham girls were on fire with lots of touches and intercepts. Bailee had another ripper game in GA, shoong from anywhere in the circle. Addison worked relessly to stop her player from driving to the circle. Let's keep striving for the top girls and aim for the big prize at the end of the season, we have the team to do it. Awards: Addison Smith (Subway), Chelsea Fulham (Fasta Pasta).

17 & Under: Robe 29 defeated by Port MacDonnell 45. The bay girls made the trek to Robe for what was sure to be another cracking game of netball. We started strong, everyone on the court working hard to create and convert on any opportunies. Goalie, Lillie Lamb went down with an ankle injury towards the end of the first, with Bree Ridding stepping up and out of GD to fill her place. Bree did a fantasc job but went back to the comfort of GD later in the second once Lamb had recovered. Both Lamb and Lilly Day had a fantasc game, baling several tough defensive combinaons over the course of the day. Bella McLean provided good drive

into the aack line, the bay girls building on their first quarter lead to be up 15 at the half. A few concentraon lapses in the third saw the determined Robe side claw back the margin by 5 at the next break but it was the reless and tenacious defensive work by Alicetyn Stanley and Bree Ridding in the last that gave us the opportunity to push ahead again. Both girls earned themselves best player for their efforts. With another tough win on the board, our girls will be working hard at training again this week to hopefully connue their success against a 2023 grand finalist side, Tantanoola. Awards: Subway, Donut King.

B Reserve: Robe 21 defeated by Port MacDonnell 59. The ghtly defended game between Robe & Port MacDonnell was a thrilling spectacle of netball. Between our two defenders Fiona & Bridie, we maintained a large goal advantage over the Roosters. Both teams demonstrated exceponal defensive skills, however our goalies Ainsley & Amber were on their game scoring goal aer goal with each miss being rebounded and executed carefully. Effecve mid court taccs by Deanne, Salem, Paige and Ruby controlled the tempo of the game, creang smooth transions and scoring opportunies to our goalies. Congratulaons to Ruby, who made her B Reserve debut with a fantasc half game of mulple intercepts & turnovers. Best players were awarded to Fiona Sco & Amber Moulden. Both playing a fantasc game, showing great sportsmanship and teamwork. Thank you to Chemist King & The Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro for donang these awards. Also a huge thank you to our team sponsors, Salem Moody Makeup & Beauty and All Digital Hearing.

B Grade: Robe 29 defeated by Port MacDonnell 43. Well done girls! Great game back! Great shoong from Jess and Kell and some great touches from Stevie in defence. We worked as a team and got the win and halved our stats from the previous week. Sll a couple of things to work on like our passing but we all know what we need to do and what we are capable of Let's keep the momentum going against Tantanoola today. Best players: Kelly Millard (Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro), Jess Grigg (The Bay Pizzaria).

A Reserve: Robe 48 defeated Port MacDonnell 38. We knew this game would be tough! We all came out firing but Robe were able to keep firing and pushing on and making the most out of turnovers. We had some really posive passages of play throughout the game and I know next me we come up against them we will be able to give it a really good run. We just need to regroup and keep working. Best players: Narelle Lewis (The Bay Pizzaria), Shannon Scheidl (Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro).

A Grade: Robe 38 defeated Port MacDonnell 37. With our line up a lile different, we started out strong but unfortunately weren't able to capitalise on our turnovers. Our defensive pressure all over court was amazing which provided plenty of scoring opportunies. We have been working really hard at training and I do see what we are working on coming out on court on Saturdays. We also have a lot more confidence in ourselves and each other, which again is great to see. Each week we are geng so close to the wins and only missing out by a few goals, yes, it is disappoinng but if we keep working hard and have paence, our me will come. All I can ask as a coach is that everyone keeps working hard and have each other's backs as people and players. Best players: Megan Hein, sponsored by Shannon Schiedl (Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro); Sophie Lewis, sponsored by Sharyn Taylor (Salem Moody Make-up and Beauty).

NETball club notes

Junior 2: I wish I could give you all awards because each of you lile superstars deserve it. There were some great passages of play down the court, each of you were creang space, ming your leads, driving towards the ball, and throwing accurate passes. These fundamentals were why we were able to keep the ball in our possession majority of the game and score! When the ball was turned over, you all quickly adapted to become strong defenders with hands up everywhere and scking ght to your players, which resulted in the opposion panicking and us scoring amazing intercepts! Keep up the amazing effort girls. Best players went to Sarah & Sophie Dunford. You're both becoming stronger players each week and did amazing at shung down both of your players. You're improving every week, keep up the great work.

Junior 1: Another brilliant team game against Nangwarry. We are really working so well as a team & all players are being strong in all different posions when rotated, which is amazing. Playing in front is good, but we can work on doing this more oen. Awards went to Lily (Shanks Engineering) for awesome effort & applying immense pressure & to Lidia (Tant Canteen), it doesn't maer what posion you are in, you give it your all.

13 & Under: Another warm day for a winter sport. We put great defence pressure on their passing from the start of the game which made many turnovers taking the ball back to our aack line. We went into the second half of the game even. Unfortunately, our scoring opportunies were low with great pressure from Nangwarry defenders inside the goal circle & we lost our ability to run it out in the last quarter which blew us out to a big loss. Emie played a ripper of a game in defence, scking ght & picking off any loose passes coming her way, she earned herself the Wendys Award. Renae ran hard at Centre both aacking & defending well earning her the McDonalds Award. Let's get some fitness up & try & play 4 great quarters.

15 & Under: So proud of every player - not just because we got our first win on the board but that we showed massive improvement in all areas of our game! Tamika, Alice and Peyton all made clear leads and then thoughully considered the type of pass needed and to the right opon. Lexi (Ducky's Surf) and Astyn (Devine Gis) growing in confidence each week and gave good drive through centre as well as working hard in defence. Rachael and Malda (Wendy's) showed great ancipaon and backed themselves to come away with some mely intercepons.

17 & Under: A solid win despite having three of our girls away Thanks to Alice and Malda who showed they were certainly up to this level, slong into the team seamlessly. Hailey and Poppy (Fasta

Pasta) worked well in the goal circle, ulising their angles around the ring to get front posion. Kayla and Alice both fed beaufully in the aack and drove hard down court. Kaitlyn made her player work for every ball and chased every loose ball to gain possession. Isla (TFNC meal voucher) adapted well to the new combinaon with Malda. Both girls played great defence to get turnovers for the team. Thanks to Rachel and Astyn for sing bench last week. Everyone contributed to a great team game, well done girls!

B Reserve: Confidence in yourselves and each other certainly has a posive effect. Was good to see our full court defence trying to put what Narelle had shown us at training into pracce - for our circle defenders, who started the game very confused to finishing with a much clearer understanding and some great intercepons, well done! Think they have “got the hang of it” now and having a red hot go. We can build on that. Awards: Sally (New Heaven), Holly (Lima & Co) Lauren (Devine Gis).

B Grade: Last week we played Nangwarry, going into this game aer losing the weekend before we had a lot we wanted to work on and try to change our game plan. We came out strong, kept our voice posive and tried to keep everyone united. We started strong and stayed that way coming away with a good win.

A Reserve: What a great game of netball by the Tigers. We created plenty of turnovers giving us numerous opportunies to move ahead on the scoreboard. Great defensive pressure all over the court allowed us more scoring opportunies. The second half we put the foot down and started creang loose balls and scoring of them. Hard running from Eva in the mid court and Ebony in GA allowed us to move the ball through quickly The defensive end of Lucy, Dakota and Sophie were creang headaches for the Saints goalies. An injury saw us down to 7 players which allowed us to use junior Poppy Thorne in the goals and mid court. A great finish to the game. Best Kylie Schultz - Lima and Co and Krystal Redden – New Haven Indian.

A Grade: Pleasing to see us keep up our intensity for four quarters against a young team that made us stay focused and work hard for the enre game. Kate Bromley (Fiy Six award) played a great game, geng a number of ps and rebounds. Alana stepped in easily at WD and along with Bella and Kate connued to provide some excellent defensive pressure. Kate Varcoe's drive and delivery to our goalers was rewarded with the Limo & Co award. It was pleasing to see Kate and Casey connued with paence passes. This was once again finished off with excellent shoong, movement and posioning by Jami and Emma.
