will maloney glencoe football club

Will Maloney today plays his 50th A Grade game for the Glencoe Football Club

He first played Junior Colts in 2014 and quickly showed his football abilies when he took out the Best and Fairest award the very next season in 2015 along with the leading goal scorer trophy that year. He again won the leading goal kicking for the Junior Colts in 2016 & 2017 and again was the Best & Fairest winner in 2017

Will represented the Mid South East Football League at the Under 14 Junior Carnival in 2017

He made his A Grade debut for the club in 2019 while sll playing Senior Colts. He was the leading goal kicker in our Senior Colts that year and again in 2021 when he took out the League’s leading goal kicking award

Will is now in his second season as our Senior Colts coach and is doing a fine job managing these boys who are not much younger than himself.

He is also a valuable member of the club’s management commiee and is always willing to help around the club.

Most of his junior football was played as a forward but is now finding his niche as a strong rebounding defender in the A grade

The Glencoe Football Club congratulates Will on his milestone game today and wish him all the best for many more milestones into the future

RLA

The Glencoe Football Club congratulates Josh Agars on playing his 50th Senior game for the Murphies today.

Josh began his junior career with the Murphies in 2008 and it didn’t take him long to show his talents. The following year in 2009, he won the club’s Junior Colts Best & Fairest and also took out the leading goal scorer as well

Josh progressed into the Senior Colts in 2010 where he was a member of the premiership team that broke the long 21 year drought since our last one in that grade.

Aer a few years away from football, Josh returned in 2021 to suit up for the B grade. He had a great season in the Ressies last year when he was awarded the Best & Fairest and is again performing well for the team this season

Everyone at Glencoe wishes Josh all the best for his first major senior milestone game today and hope to see him achieve many more in the coming years.

HATHERLEIGH EAGLES

football club notes seniors

B Grade: What a great game of B grade football we witnessed on Saturday, we knew we had a massive challenge coming up against Robe who are flying along at the moment. They are well drilled and set up well. We were down a few men from the get go then down to 1 on the bench by the fourth quarter. We will take a lot of posives out of the game and hopefully get a few more players back over the coming weeks. Best players Jimmy Telford, Ethan Leopold, Bailey Lindner, Sam Gray and Jack Altschwager who kicked 3 goals.

senior

Senior Colts: Heading down to Robe, with both of us being a lile short we ended up playing 17 aside with no bench. Plenty of run in the legs and the lads had a great game geng back on the winners list. First like to thank Will Dower for stepping up from the Jnr Colts and having another cracking game. First best the Dentons SportsPower award went to Riley Haines, connues to grow as a footballer and is having a great year. Second best the stumpy award went to Charlie Sims. Third best the Gino's Award went to Archie Morgan. 4th best the ladies commiee award went to Oskar Howell. 5th best the Pete Walter's award went to Isaac “the wizard” Chambers. Another

Junior Colts: Despite finally geng some rain during the week, it was yet another fine day for football at Robe. Well done to the boys that played SAPSASA during the week in Adelaide. Those that made it

up there were Thomas Lowe, Mazi Hales, Blake Koehne and Fred Andre. The only downside was the virus they all picked up and so we went into the game with a few missing. Robe were also missing a few and this made for a more contested game than the scoreboard suggested. In the end we won comfortably with a very even team effort which was very pleasing. Tommy Atkinson posioned himself well across the centre line, providing plenty of drive but also doing some hard defensive running. Reef Chambers made life look easy whether on the ball or up forward. He was clean with the ball and hit the scoreboard. Leni Clifford played in mulple posions from full forward to centre half back and was effecve in all spots. Paddy Fitzgerald had another strong game at half back where he read the play well and intercepted plenty of forward plays. It was pleasing to see James Mahews get in good posions to receive the ball on the wing, where he picked up plenty of kicks. A general bye this week for the long weekend will be a good break before we meet Tantanoola.

Junior Colts: Last week we baled Mount Burr on home deck, with a few late apologies due to sickness and giving the Burr some players, we had to bring up 8 under 11's. Geng off to a fast start we were able to put 7 straight goals on the board. With both second gamer Billy Brown and first gamer Abbi Brown kicking their first ever goal for the junior colts. It was great to watch the kids move the ball like we've been praccing and enjoying footy. Best players were Charlie Bromley and Jayden Hunter who both baled hard all day. Kobe Bromley who baled hard for us and Mount Burr, Jedd Hardingham, Summer Batchelor and Billy Brown.

Senior Colts: Ripper of a day again as we came up against the top of the table Mossies. With 4 unavailable we borrowed a couple of Mossies who put in hard all game. Going back to basic man on man footy and been ght on our opponent all game we baled hard all game never giving up to the final siren to go down to the top side. Hold your head high lads on your performance. Best players Braydn baled hard in the middle all game, Jake kicked our couple of goals and was in everything. Zac and Josh had

their best games for the year aacking the ball hard all game and led up well. Boat was steady down back all game and Kaden also good down back been ght on his man all game. On to the Eagles this week on their home deck.

Reserves: Last game we hosted Mt Burr at Tant with a large crowd for Sponsors Day. The boys baled hard and had just as much of the ball as Mt Burr and just as many forward entries but unfortunately bad kicking in front of goal cost us dearly. Tant 4.11 to Mt Burr 8.1 tells the story. Geng some real posives out of each week and pleasing to see us grow as a group. We are so close to our best but we are just leng ourselves down with that last possession which is not quite hing the target. Ma Nelson connues his outstanding year being our best player again, second was Sam Byron then Bommer, Bundy and Liam Ousey. Pablo was back from working away and kicked 2 while Hamish and Hoges both got a goal each.

A Grade: Another great day for footy at home, both teams started really slow taking a while to get into the game. We had plenty of opportunies but couldn't finish it off with the Burr taking it out too easily. The 3rd quarter saw us have a real slump as the Burr got on top all over the ground and started taking advantage of us. In the last the boys put up a good fight matching it with them unfortunately 1 bad quarter again was the difference which is becoming a bit of a habit with our young squad but a lot of our young guys are really starng to have more of an impact around the ground. Best players Alec Roberts who dominated all day, Troy Ha, Jack Cytrowski, Cade Kelly and Brayden Rowe.

Junior Colts: The boys played excellent. One of the best games we've played that we hadn't won. A couple of debutants made their start in Max and a Eli. Both were quicker on the ground and aack the ball at great pace. Each earning them a best on ground menon. Louie had his best game with intensity in the forward line. Mostyn held down the back cool and collecvely. Jacko looked silky in the middle and played his best game as a midfielder. Great effort from everyone on the team.

Senior Colts: In perfect condions for football the senior colts had a solid win against a undermanned Tantanoola side. We were able to throw the team around to give plenty of opportunies for the boys to play in different posions throughout the game. Big thanks to the boys that went and played a quarter or two for Tant. We look forward to enjoying a weekend off before a tough challenge against a strong Glencoe side.

B Grade: Saturday’s game against Tant was always going to be a close game with both sides fielding young sides and having to cover injuries to regular senior players. We started well in the first quarter by kicking a couple of goals and our defence holding up and restricng Tant to one major. We then got on top for the majority of the next two quarters before a few undisciplined acts led to 2 Tant goals and the margin was only 6 points in our favour at the final term. To our credit, we responded in the last term and our

front of goal

helped us record our second victory for the season. Best players were Tommy Hales (6 goals) who was the difference between the 2 sides, Luke Allen, Liam Whiy, Bradlee Lawson, George Wimshurst, Braeden Thwaites & Noah Telfer.

A Grade: Congratulaons to Sam Wallis who played his 150th game. The ulmate team man and club man. We started off slow and made some poor skill errors. Our execuon at mes really let us down and turned the footy over too much in dangerous posions. Luckily we were able to defend well enough to hold Tant from scoring. The second half was pleasing to see we got back to playing our football. Our effort, energy and work rate went up and we wanted to do the team things well. We got some good entries forward and put some scoreboard pressure on. A strong finish to the game aer a tough day on the injury front for us. Best wishes to Jack and Josh, we are all behind you.

We welcomed Port Mac to another beauful day on our home deck with a large crowd in aendance. We would like to thank our sponsors and volunteers for connues support in helping on Saturdays.

A congratulaons goes to both Will Maloney playing his 50th A grade game today and Josh Agars who's playing his 50th Senior game.

Congratulaons to our interleague representaves in U15s Hamish, Sam, Kallan, Tighe, Jed and Tommy. They won both their games, a feat not done for a very long me. Kallan and Tighe were also picked in the team of the carnival. The boys should be proud represenng the club and the league. In the U17s Max and Lachy represented us well, unfortunately going down in both games. Dylan played well in the Seniors and Reece aided Clint well.

Under 11: We borrowed a few kids from Port Mac and stretched the field to ensure everyone got a good run. The kids enjoyed the morning hing the scoreboard on a few occasions too. This group of mini Murph's are geng beer week by week, be sure to get along and watch.

Junior Colts: Coming up against an undefeated Port Mac in a grand final rematch it was set to be an excing contest. We played the best quarter we have played all year slong four goals with Jake Sinkunas seng the crowd a light kicking mulple goals and finishing with three for the day. Aer this we knew Port Mac were going to come at us and that they did with the game evening up. Captain Hamish tried to lead his young team to victory but were over run, going down by 20 points. Best was captain Hamish, Alejandro, goal sneak Jake Sinkunas, Max Jantosh and

Harrison X.

Senior Colts: Two compeve teams coming up against each other with both teams having a number of players unavailable it didn't stop both teams showing their skills. The first quarter was an even tussle with the Bay having the scoring end. Aer that with a few changes we jumped ahead and took the win by 37 points moving onto Mount Burr this week with a top of the table clash. Best was Tighe Hurley who connues to show he's one of the best defenders in this age group, next was Les Jagger, Max showing his class, Brodie Pfitzner kicking 5 goals, Jed Sinkunas and Tyler Rothall rounded it out.

Reserves: Another week with lots of changes, Pie welcomed his first 'dropped' player Jezza back into the team. In a very high scoring Reserves game we wasted a lot of opportunies early. Dane cleared his leading lanes and finished the day with seven. With a few players coming back more Ressies will need to start training to hold their spots. Best for the day was Brody Allison who led up the group strongly and took everything, next was captain Jason showing his class, Mitch Lile, Dane and Kyle.

A Grade: A big game for the Seniors with another clash set to be a close one. With the first quarter going the Bays way we came out firing in the second term. Harry firing the boys up with two goals for the quarter and Alex having plenty of opportunies. At half me we were in the lead before Port Mac responded to the challenge jumping in front and running away with a 38 point win. Best was Connor who's in some serious form, Declan, Alex, Aiden and defenders Dylan P and Will.

Good luck today.

NANGWARRY SAINTS

An almost perfect day at Kongorong last Saturday with three out of four wins. The B grade boys were so close but just pipped at the post.

It isn't too late for any under 11's to join on a Saturday, if you have or know of any children who would love to have a kick get them out to training on Thursday's and we can have a chat.

Our Junior Colts had a very convincing win to see them sing 6th on the ladder. The Senior Colts aer a slow start found their feet and see themselves sing in 3rd spot on the ladder. A fantasc achievement and very promising for the future of our club. The Reserves were a lile unlucky to not get the win however with a few late changes in the A grade it le them a lile short. However the A grade boys were able to capitalise on their emoons and secure the win for their mate Podsy. We knew Glencoe was going to be tough the week before but we had our eyes set firmly on the points this week and dug deep. Let's take this momentum and the feeling of success and use it for the back half of the season.

This week's sponsor shout out is to Sign Depot and CMC Mechanical.

The Sign Depot is a new Mount Gambier based business offering signwring and commercial print soluons for Mount Gambier and the surrounding districts.

Welcome on board to new sponsor CMC Mechanical in 2024. CMC Mechanical is a mobile set up service for all repair requirements.

Please support these businesses where you can, as there generous support keeps our club moving forward and growing each year Under 11: Connuing to improve every week, these young colts are making great progress. Some great passages of play down the field, a few great marks and some strong tackles are helping to build the foundaons of footy these young sainters need to progress. Thanks to Kongorong for helping to make it an even contest and filling 2 teams.

Junior Colts: Another great game from our under 14s with another win on the road. Albeit we were a bit inaccurate in the first half, we steady things and started making the most of our inside 50s in the second half. Throughout the match our ball movement was great, keeping wide when we had to and then using the corridor when the opportunies presented. Was good to see everyone that took the field contribute in one way or another? Our scoring came from 8 different players, with Rafferty Geary bagging himself 3 and Mason Meulenmeesters snagging 6 and best on for the day

Senior Colts: Aer a slow start in the first half against younger but really determined Kongorong side we held a 20 point lead at half me. It was great to see the intensity and pressure pick up in the last 2 quarters. And with the boys playing some great team footy we eventually ran out winners by 71 points. Mulple goal kickers were Bay McKinnon and Calais Bormann 4 goals each and Elwood Geary 2 goals. Award winners

were Jordan Dinnison - OK Pie Shop, Cooper Harris - Nangwarry Canteen, Bo SampsonThe Spud Train, and Deklan GartsideDohnt’s BP Servo. Other beer players were Tayte Virtanen and Benne Moy connuing his great recent form. Also congratulaons to the boys who made the interleague side. Well done to Taz and the A grade guys geng their first win for the season so far, it is great to see all the hard work pay off

B Grade: Was a good game to watch, unfortunately the boys went down by 5 points, the game was always going to be hard against Kongorong but we had a crack. We definitely had our moments in the game where we could have won the game but unfortunately didn't capitalise on them. We will regroup and go again in 2 weeks' me.

A Grade: Once again it's always nice to play football in ideal condions and Kongorong didn't disappoint. Good crowd, great weather. We knew going into the game both teams would be wanng the ideal start and stamp some ascendancy. We got a good start in the middle but didn't capitalise on our good work and to Kongorong’s credit they dug in and made it a ght contest. Unfortunately we had to make some posional changes early due to a collarbone injury to hard man Thomas Vanderhorst. We wish Tommy and his family all the very best through the recovery process. The second quarter again was ghtly fought but felt we le numerous opportunies out there. Was very pleasing to see our boys really li their intensity towards pressure impacts. Fundamental errors cost us at mes but we put that down to posional changes and being down to one on the bench. Scores were even at the main break and the game was there to win but we had to improve in areas going forward. Again Kongorong had a red hot dip but felt our pressure was good and ball use and decision making was becoming cleaner. There was a good vibe at the last break and our boys went into the quarter with prey good momentum. Ours boys lied and had numerous entries into our forward 50 but again didn't capitalise on our opportunies but remained composed and ended up with the much needed win and felt a reward for our work rate efforts. Numerous highlights for the day none other than 5 U17 boys selected in the team and all had impact throughout the game. How all our players embraced the grind with only one man on the bench early in the game was also very pleasing. Goal kickers for the day were Ty Dinnison with 4 (yes you read that right) and Elwood "Woody" Geary with 2. Best players for the day, Brodie Arundell, Josh Weedon, Lennox Lewis, Ty Dinnison, Joel Virtanen and Harry Hicks. A 14 day break and we look forward to being back home and take on Kalangadoo.

A massive congratulaons to Joel Virtanen, Lennox Lewis and Ty Dinnison, Logan Gibbs and George McWaters on their senior Interleague squad selecon. Together with Elwood Geary, Harry Hicks, Toby Grigg, Bay McKinnon and Archer Virtanen on their selecon in the U17 Interleague squad. Tayte Virtanen, Rhys Grigg, Cooper Harris, Josh Manninen and Jagger Geary on their selecon in the U15 Interleague squad.

Was hard to believe that once again the sun was out and a perfect day for footy although we are only a few days away from winter. While farmers and communies are looking to the heavens, we are geng perfect condions for footy and making the most of this great autumn weather.

Congratulaons to all the players selected in the interleague sides represenng the club last weekend in all 3 grades. As always you do the club proud and shows the commitment to MSE football that Kalangadoo FC has. Thanks goes to our Junior Game Day Sponsors Autocare Mt Gambier, Rarcoola Structural, The Rocks Shop, MT Wheels & 3MP as game day sponsors and weekly award sponsors in – The Roadhouse, Country Atude, Spot On, Bunnings, Aussie Disposals, Sorrentos, OK Pie Shop, KD's Deli, Intersport, Doughnut King, Wendy's, McDonalds, Compton Street Bakers Delight & Boost Juice and Killara Food Court sponsoring our weekly Junior Club Encouragement award.

Under 11: The day started a lile later than normal, but this allowed for a healthy crowd to filter in and watch both the Auskickers and U11's have an extended game me. And always they never disappointed with the older lads making sure to share the ball around and bring the smaller players into the game. A huge thank you to our game day awards sponsors in Wendys, McDonalds, Doughnut King, Compton Street & Killara Food Court with the awards going too Van, Alfie, Benji, Brodi, James & Billie.

Junior Colts: As the halfway mark of the season is fast approaching and the Junior Colts starng to find the belief and effort that is required to play at the pointy end of the year, Macca was eager for the group to get game style going that has seen the Junior Colts within recent weeks. 1st qtr they looked to dominate but through some rushed play and over eagerness couldn't quite get the score on the board. From there the young Maggies got the link up play going against a very undersized Kongorong ouit. While had plenty of scoring shots the pleasing part was that the young Maggies defence held up all game to keep the Hawks scoreless. Best players went to Alexander – Spot On, Lachy – Bunnings, Jack – OK Pie Shop, Preston – Bakers Delight, Koby –Coaches Award and Axel - Killara Food Court encouragement award.

Reserves: Sll juggling players from week to week seems a common occurrence for Auldy but with one of the stronger sides in recent weeks allowed a more seled and stronger lineup across the ground. Having Nato & Axe fresh through no colt's game meant they were able to provide plenty of run through the open spaces and the forwards could get busy. Took a lile while to get the ball moving and game opened up but going into the halime break with a 27-point margin set the tone for the 2nd half As expected, the game connued to open up with Reevsey & Johnny winning clearances meant we could kick away with 8 goals to 1 in the 2nd half and a commanding 68-point final margin. Best players went to Reevsey, Camo, Joonks, Axe, Nato & Gussy.

Seniors: Another Saturday in perfect condions meant another opportunity for the Maggies to connue the good work over the last few rounds as looked to take on a determined Hawks side. From the outset could see the Hawks had come to play with centre clearances being shared evenly early on and both sides looking to move the ball quickly around the ground. The maggies remained disciplined, and this allowed to go in at qtr me with a 2-goal margin. Our defence stood strong in the 2nd qtr holding the Hawks scoreless while the mids and forwards got busy by controlling the stoppages and opening the ground up at every opportunity to kick 6 goals for the qtr and holding a 42-point margin at the main break. As expected Kongorong came out aer the halime break and threw everything they had at us for the quarter and while it took a lile while to sele and get control back of the game and wasn't for some inaccurate kicking would have seen us with a bigger lead than the 55 point margin at the final break. Lynsy urged the Maggies on to run the game out in the last and finish strong and while the Hawks bales hard to slow the game and play a real defensive game we sll managed a further 5 goals for the quarter to finish with a dominant 87-point win. Best players went to Manes, Schuey, Toota, Jaggs, Sammy & Norms. Having a few weeks off with the bye and interleague thrown in there, it's been a perfect chance to freshen up and welcome a few players back as we head through the pines to take on the ever-improving Saints.

PORT MACDONNELL DEMONS

A Grade: Port MacDonnell 19.12 def Glencoe 14.4. It may be the first day of Winter, but the weather has been, and sll is, unseasonably warm. I guess this means we'll be playing in the rain come finals me, as a dry start usually means a wet end. We are all grateful for the rain and I know that many of the grounds would have welcomed the watering! Glencoe was a crucial game, as we were just outside the top four and the win will place us now in a good spot to make finals come August. Everyone stepped up, including the senior colts Harry Carroll and Patrick Robinson, who put their bodies on the line just as much as our seasoned players. Ned Wilke, who always leads by example, received the BOG for his Olympic effort across the ground, not only stopping the momentum of Glencoe in the 2nd half but also aacking with vigour and pace. Ethan Gladman provided plenty of push forward out of the backline along with Je Aard to take out the 2nd and 3rd spot respecvely Patrick “Paddy” Robinson garnered 4th best for his efforts on the flanks, showing great courage despite the size and age of the opposion (the other guy was on the field unconscious!). Rounding out the list was perennial stalwart Will Macdonald, who sll controls the centre of every game he plays. At the half break, and with only 4 points the difference, the boys took it up a notch with a 5-goal haul in the third and another 4 in the fourth term to bring us home. Luke Richards, Jake Turner and Ned Wilke all had 3 apiece, while Colby Munro and Chrisan Howle booted 2 each and Ethan Gladman, Riley Morgan, Je Aard, Will Macdonald, Nathan Bell and Kyall McClean all kicked one each. Thankfully we have a week off and our bench will have me to recover and get our team back to full playing capacity. Next is Kongorong at home. This is a crowd favourite and a rivalry that goes back years… let's not disappoint. Train hard to play hard! Go Demons!

B Grade: Port MacDonnell 11.1 lost

to Glencoe 14.13. Aaah! With the rains, hope springs eternal! Farmers and townsfolk alike are breathing a sigh of relief… and like every Saturday we HOPE we can get a Reserves side on the park! Sunny and cool condions at Glencoe give us very lile excuse for our loss but the game had plenty of spectacle and both sides were keen for the win. Once again I bring out the soap box… Fitness! Training!! It does make a difference when YOU are all there! “CrackerJack” Jack Cawthorne (BOG) was a huge sck of dynamite the enre game and I'm sure that the Glencoe boys have powder burns as he exploded through the packs all over the ground, winning the ball 95% of the me. Simon Merre wins his powder cket (2nd) with his control through the centre, and level headedness through the HF & HB lines. “Skyrocket” Liam Boomley (3rd) helped in ruck to great effect and provided much needed run through the flanks and forward lines. Bradley Neale (4th) went off like a “Roman Candle”, here, there and everywhere giving us height and leg speed, as he blew up the pocket posions running off the centre. “Penny Bangers” Joel NA-NA Anderson and Mason Brown “detonated” through the back lines winning some crical turnovers through the last half placing 5 & 6th respecvely on the list. Simon Merre blazed away with 4 straight goals, while Ben “Isaac” Newton tested the laws of physics again with 3 of his own including an “Bend it Like Beckham” shot from the sideline of the eastern goal! Nathan Munro and Joel N Anderson “Squibbed” one each to round out the effort. Surprisingly the Sheet of Shame hardly got a look in (for once!). Our defence held us in good stead and it was a hard-fought game with injuries and blood, a griy bale lost but not the war. We now have a break before the Hawks, and the first half of the season will be over, let's see if we can put that nest to rest! Go Demons!

A ght bale between many grades as we faced Nangwarry. Our thoughts are with the Podobnik family and his beauful partner Courtney aer the loss of Dylan. To celebrate him, we proudly wore the #7 on our arms, as united clubs.

Congratulaons to those that represented Kongorong in their respecve country champs sides last week, you’ve made us all so proud.

Under 11: It was a cold start for the Under 11’s as we faced a undermanned Nangwarry side. We welcome Archie and Oscar Gillian and their family to the club. Thank you to all the kids who went over and played for Nangwarry, it was pleasing to see the sportsmanship and teamwork by all of the kids. They all got plenty of the ball and the skill level of this group was very high. Awards went to Archie Gillian (Intersport), Brody Stephen’s (Presidents Award), Toby Telford (Coaches Award), Rooster Aikenhead (Club Award), Harry Collins (Brant Family) and Mason Lile (Donut King). The Auskick club awards went to Max von Stanke & Hudson Howard.

Junior Colts: Nangwarry were too strong for us despite good efforts from all of our players. It isn’t reflecng on the scoreboard yet, but our defensive players were a lot more focused on their direct opponents and made considerable improvements in geng in the front posion and not giving Nangwarry forwards as much space as we did last game. Our forwards are connuing to push up the ground with beer system to help their teammates. Unfortunately we sll seem hesitant to get first hands on the ball when it is on the ground and are either leaving it for teammates or waing for opposion players to grab it and then try and tackle them. If we can fix this issue in coming weeks it will make us much more compeve in the second half of the season. Best players were Angus Maidment (Lucas Family), Koby Galloway (Aussie Disposals), Havana Beard (Spot on Fishing), Zavier Hunt (Janeaway Plumbing), Piper Hood (Paradise Pizzas) and Noah Von StankeDowie (Coaches Award).

Senior Colts: Following a couple of weeks without a match we began a lile sluggishly and spent a good poron of the first term in our defensive half. We struggled to score from our few forward forays in the first term and didn’t get our game going unl the second term. The second quarter was more reflecve of the brand of football we want to play as we began to transion the ball beer and

win more ball around the contest. Second half skill errors, missed tackles and a lack of connecon between mids and forwards meant we couldn’t impact the scoreboard or slow the momentum of our opposion who ran away with a comfortable win aer half me. Awards went to Ryan Lucas (Mahew’s Petroleum), Harrison Elletson (MT Wheels), Blake Telford (DA’Leni Meats), Jai Hillstone (Mick Mullan Award), Sam Ruwoldt (Badenochs Deli) and Samuel Pearce (Coaches Award).

B Grade: Really close tussle with both sides having chances to win the game. Very proud of the way our boys went about it to get the win. Once again we had mulple senior colts play and once again they played vital roles in the match. The great thing was they did so in a close win. The experience they are geng will hopefully stand them in good stead going forward. Two true blood Kongorong people had big milestones for us in the game. Axl Von Stanke played his first senior game and it was fantasc to have his dad present his jumper to him pre-game. Looking forward to seeing Axl play many more. Brad Long lives and breathes our club and gives everything for the yellow and black. He played his 150th game and was outstanding all day. It was great to get the win for Axl and Brad. Paul Ellis, Andrew Telford, Brad Long, Shak Von Stanke, Michael Waters and Shaun Beard were our award winners. Thanks to BCF, Collins Court Butchers, Commercial Hotel, Pick Avenue Deli and the club for sponsoring the awards.

A Grade: The boys started prey flat but pressed ok with Ryan Vickery needing a stretcher and Charlie Schultz doing a hamstring shortly aer. We were up against it from the start, the boys defended down back well with a good ruck contest in the centre, making it hard to read the game. It was ght right up unl the last 5 minutes when Nangwarry got a goal to put a buffer between us. Unfortunately we couldn't close the gap and Nangwarry got over the line. Awards went to Darcy Hunt (The Commersh), Elliot Modra (Collins Court Butcher), Will von Stanke (Club Tea), Ethan Norman (Club Tea), Brodie von Stanke-Dowie (BCF) and Joel Maconachie (Pick Ave Deli).

Our Hypnost Night is coming up quick (22nd of June!) so make sure you see a commiee member for your ckets & table bookings.

We will be heading to The Bellum aer the Port Mac game, so please come along & enjoy. See you seaside as we take on the bay. Go Hawks!

Megan Thiele has played all of her netball at the Mount Burr Netball Club. She was a successful player being part of junior premiership sides. She began playing senior netball as a junior player, with her A grade debut at 15 years of age. This season Megan is again a strength in the defensive end of the court in A grade. We congratulate her on her achievement and look forward to her connued success.

NETball club notes hatherleigh

Junior 1: In nice condions down at Robe the girls worked hard to implement new learning to their games. Defence put to pracce geng their hands all over the ball and boxing out. Mid court had some good patches and worked on steadying the ball to find the right opon. Goalies moved well and were steady with there ball movement. We worked relessly to get free through the whole court we just need to remember to run at the ball not away Sports Power - Emily Freebairn, HLCEmma McGrath.

13 & Under: Hatherleigh defeated Robe 14-57. What a wonderful day down at Robe. Thank you to the Robe girls for all the hard work creang a fundraising event for such a wonderful cause and allowing us to be part of it. Another great game 13s girls. When you are all watching and aenve it really shows. Our aack line saw a few changes throughout the game which you all adjusted to really well and it was nice to see such eagerness and excitement going in to different posions. Arabella put in to pracce learnings from Thursday night which saw her adjusng her landing and increasing distance on court with ease earning her the Toy Kingdom award. Paige Walters was on fire in defence with eyes up and two hands ready she took an incredible amount of intercepts earning her the HLC award. Again if there were enough awards each and every girl deserved one. Mollie - used circle well and held front posion well. Livvi - adjusted well to defence taking plenty of turnovers and shot with great accuracy. Hazel - ran well at centre and adjusted quickly and easily in to GA creang plenty of space and shoong strongly. Alirah - ran hard all day and kept the defence pressure on her player well. Chloe - with eyes up and feet ready got her hands to plenty. Kaia - great drives out of defence posioned well under the ring for lots of rebounds. Sloed in to GS with ease. Paige Walters - HLC, Arabella Hassell - Toy Kingdom.

15 & Under: Hatherleigh defeated by Robe 49-38. An even, hard fought contest between two teams fighng to keep finals hopes alive. The game went goal for goal for most of the first half. Laura and Alirah were paent and precise with their moment and passing around the ring. Livvi, Sylvie and Sienna used speed and agility to consistently find space in the goal ring and finished off with strong shoong and rebounding. Olivia, Luca and Zoe were relentless in defence, denying Robe any easy access to the post and taking two handed intercepts. Not the result we were hoping for, but lots of posives to take away from the game. Olivia BellingerDuckies, Zoe Moore - Banner

17 & Under: Hatherleigh defeated Robe 26-54. We notched up another win, not a prey win but win nevertheless. We struggled to find any real flow for the majority of the game but did manage to piece together a solid second half. Hannah showed off her athlecism in defence and Niah once again played consistently both ends of the court. We need to sck to our game and not get raled when things get physical. Plenty to work on as we near the half way mark of the season. Hannah Bellinger - Ducky’s, Niah Faulkner - HFC.

B Reserve: Hatherleigh defeated Robe 2649. It was a slow start for us and it took us a while to find our momentum down the court. We had opportunies to come away with the lead early but lost the ball through mistakes of our own to make it hard for ourselves. 2nd quarter seen us sele and score of our own and take the lead by 12. Our defensive pressure down the court lied and we managed to get our hands on plenty of turnovers. Melita and Grace worked the ball around the circle edge with Amy and Keely being paent

with their passes and allowing our goalies to find space. Ellen, Fi and Ella took some great rebounds, they all played a great game in D and created many opportunies for us to score. Nic had a few posional changes and got her hands to many balls taking some great intercepts through the mid-court. Melita had a great game and put up some beauful shots and earning herself the Beachport Hotel award. Maddie did what we asked of her at WD and got her finger ps to a few balls around the circle. Keely had a ripper of a game she didn’t stop all day with great drive down the court and fighng for every loose ball. We need to remember when we come up against a team like Robe to play our own game from the first whistle and do what we know - take the easy opon and not make it hard for ourselves. Final score 26-49. Melita Thwaites - Beachport Hotel, Keely Jones - Hatherleigh Sport & Rec. Thank you to Kelly for being our primary carer and Zoe for scoring. Melita Twaites - K&S Fuel, Ellen Clarke - Sport and Rec.

B Grade: Hatherleigh defeated Robe 2965. Starng out strong and seling quickly into the game gave Hatherleigh a good lead. Making no changes in the first half gave us a nice halime score of being over 20 goals up. The great defence and mid court pressure allowed the numerous intercepts and rebounds convert into these goals. The couple of changes made at halime saw no change in the momentum of the score, but with Lize going down later in the 3rd qtr with an injury may have unseled the team. The last quarter played out fairly even, but the hard work done by all in the first 3 quarters allowed a comfortable win of 2965. Best players were Ellie Cook and Georgia Gray (the voices of the best players could be heard giving encouragement and direcon throughout the game). Ellie Cook - Beachport Hotel, Georgia Gray - Sport and Rec.

A Reserve: Hatherleigh defeated Robe 4334. Robe came with perfect netball weather condions. The game started out as a tough one with Robe and us fighng for every loose ball. With only 1 to 2 goals in it for the first half, it was a tough tussle down the court. The girls had great movement and ming down the court, it was great to see the hard work they’ve been pung in at training into their game. Defensively, Millie Smith and Maddie Redman applied the defensive pressure, taking some great intercepons. Lucy Corman and Shayla Jones defensive pressure down the court with some great drives down the court, geng their hands to everything and giving 100%. No maer what combo was thrown in the goal end, Imi, Abby and Eliza adapted and moved and shot so well. With Rosie Neles hard drives and speed, her feeding into the circle was impressive. Huge congratulaons to Abby Wight on her 100 games! Here’s to another 100! Thanks to Sarah and Ciarne who helped out and thanks to the Robe girls for the fantasc ladies day. Very well done! Shayla JonesBeachport Pub, Lucy Corman Sport and Rec.

A Grade: Hatherleigh defeated by Robe 5736. A disappoinng scoreline however lots of posives to take away from the game. We had some open passages of play, where the ball moved with ease down the court. Erin and Rosie fed in well to the goalies, who stood up strongly against some tough defencse. Defensively we took some risks, creang some strong turnovers. We got caught flat footed all over the court and therefore our ability to react quickly was minimised. Beachport Pub - Erin Watson, Hatherleigh Sport & Rec - Bree Harris.

TANTANOOLA

NETball club notes

Junior 2: We came up against a tall team, which proved a challenge for us! You didn't drop your heads or show any fear, if your opponent happened to be taller than you, If anything it made you play harder! We were forced to come in front of our players and work to bring the ball down the court. It was a challenge you stepped up to and made each of you demonstrate the skills we have been working on at training. Best players went to Ellie Perry & Marlee Bell, you were both intercepng superstars! Reading the ball and demonstrang excellent defensive skills gave you both opportunies to gain possession of Mt Burr's passes which we were able to score from. Keep it up.

Junior 1: Unfortunately we were outplayed by a much taller Mt Burr team. We sll had some great passages of play & our playing in front was much beer, we just need to remember not to cluer up everyone else's space & to clear out. Awards went to Lexi who had an amazing second half at WA & C (Donut King) driving well to the ball & being where she needed to be. Also to Shelbi who always goes strong at the ball & creates so many turnovers every week (Wendys).

13 & Under: Wow another close game. I asked you to make them work hard for the win & we definitely achieved this almost holding onto the win ourselves but lost it in the last quarter. Our defensive pressure all over court was great & we were able to make beer decisions in aack taking the ball down to our goalies. Let's connue working as a team. The game was definitely a team effort & it was coaches shout for lollies.

15 & Under: Another good team performance. Alice (Dentons Sportspower) led the way and was capably assisted by the posioning and passes of Tamika and Peyton (Devine Gis). Malda (Fasta Pasta) stood tall in defence, keeping calm under pressure yet sll going for the intercept and working well with Rachael. Our mid court, Alexis, Astyn and Summah are doing a great job as they learn to adjust to new roles and posions. Welcome back Judy and Lani court side - glad you got to see us win! Thanks to Kailee and Olivia for sing bench.

17 & Under: So great to almost have the full team back together! The girls came out firing and were even at quarter me. Molly slid straight back into the defence circle aer a few weeks away and worked well with Isla to create turnovers. Kaitlyn's ght defensive pressure and ability to read the ball was outstanding again. Demi (Dentons Sportspower) had a great game running through the centre, staying consistent all four quarters of the game. Both Demi and Kayla worked well to gain posion around the circle and feed with accuracy. Poppy played well in the

goal circle and ulised her speed down court, applying the same determinaon in defence. Hailey (Fasta Pasta) shot beaufully from range and gave 100% to fight for possessions. Thank you to Alice and Malda for stepping up and hing the court again, both girls are playing great netball and are certainly capable of playing at this level.

B Reserve: A very even team performance showing on many occasions just what we are capable of. Most pleasing were the mes we carried out things pracsed at training - even without realising it! Amy (Lima & Co) and Riley (Somerset meal voucher) were solid in defence and Teagan (improving every me she takes the court) earned Divine Gis award. Welcome back Judy!

B Grade: Well our last game against Mt Burr was a close one. Going into the game we were unsure as we had both our shooters out so we had to improvise. We started the game strong with our team but aer being even in the first quarter we brought on one of our young up and coming 17's Demi Bevan. Demi came on in GA and was absolutely amazing, she got in so well and worked so well in our aack end with our experienced Tarrah. Together the girls worked so hard along with the rest of the team in aack and in defence to help us secure a close victory. I'm proud of the girls for staying strong, playing our game and for not dropping our heads. Good job girls!

A Reserve: What a great game of netball by the Tigers. Our defensive end of Lucy, Dakota and Sophie were causing chaos for the Mt Burr goalies. Our whole team created plenty of turnovers giving us numerous opportunies to move ahead on the scoreboard. Great defensive pressure all over the court from all players, hard running from Eva and Kristy in the mid court and Ebony in GA and Krystal in WA allowed us to move the ball through quickly. A great last quarter saw the Tigers push the lead out to 20 to finish off the game. Best Kristy Varcoe - Lima & Co and Ebony Cytrowski - Kelsey Wright Gym.

A Grade: Great to see Shelby back on the court with us and slong in well. We hope Molly's injury is not too serious and she is back with us very soon. Unfortunately, we had a few too many passing errors due to pressure which allowed our opponents into the game. Sll plenty to work on so we can eliminate or reduce our turnovers. Jami was a solid contributor earning the (Denton Sportspower Award). Bella (Tantanoola Club Award) is going from strength to strength and playing some outstanding defence. She is combining nicely with Kate and their blocking out was impressive with the height disadvantage. Thanks once again to Lucy and Keryl for being able to jump on and contribute during the game.

Junior 2: Another outstanding game girls, on a wet, slippery court, you had to focus on scky feet and strong chest passes and you did just that! You faced a tough opponent in Tant which was a great challenge for you all. I loved how you all showed great teamwork and care for one another on the court. It is truly fantasc to see. The Acky's award went to Charlie for her stellar defensive pressure, creang turnovers whenever the ball got near her opposion and for also cheering on her teammates when they scored a goal.

Junior 1: Well done on your teamwork last game girls. It was pleasing to see us steady in aack to reduce turnovers. Our transion down the court was fast, we do need to remember to keep coming in front. All goalies worked really hard to create lots of scoring opportunies. Awards went to Scarle (Kaboom), Sydnee (Acky's) and Bella (Toy Kingdom). Thanks so much to Charlie for sing on the bench for us and to Sophie for umpiring.

13 & Under: Well done girls, a great comeback win. We were down most of the game and played a great last quarter, which set us for the win. It's so good for us to have a tough game like this, and work hard as a team to come away with the win. Well done to Tantanoola they pushed us all game. Enjoy the week off and everyone is feeling 100 percent and are back fit and healthy. Thanks to Sarah for scoring and Zoe for umpiring. Awards went to AliceSubway and Jess - Ducky's Surf 17 & Under: A great team game. You again you showed the versality of our side. Tilly showed her strength in defence, earing her the Acky's award. Some great rotaon of the goal circle from Abbey and Sarah (Harper and Co award), making space, allowing for drives under the ring. When we kept the centre third clear, defence moved the ball quickly down court. Sara ancipated incoming passes to make numerous intercepons to win the Zambrero award. Our defensive pressure from the aack line helped turn the ball over to convert. This

was important as we oen made passing unforced errors. Lola, Jaime Olivia and Kayla (Ducky's award) connued to reoffer to have strong leads. We need to remember to give the ball with strength and a lile flaer to ensure our players don't have to wait to receive the ball. Another strong team game. Thanks Becky and Stella for sing our bench, Julie for scoring and Jodie for umpiring. Congratulaons Abbey for represenng our club and Country Champs over the long weekend.

B Reserve: Tantanoola 47 defeated Mt Burr 29. We started off very slowly but our margins improved each quarter. We struggled to keep pace against a young fit side, but had some really good patches of ball movement with Amanda and Karen helping Makayla to find her feet in goals. Thanks to Sarah Sigston & Olivia Holland who came on in the third quarter to help us catch a breath. It was great to have fresh legs on court. Thanks to our sponsors Millicent Sports Power, Fasta Pasta & Subway

B Grade: What a game ladies, you should be proud of the fight to the end. We came out strong in the first quarter as we had trained sll working on new posions and learning new posions on court we led by 1 goal, Tant dug deep and took the lead to go into half me by 4. We kept on fighng pung defensive pressure down the court creang turnovers however not able to capitalise on the turnovers. We need to be paent with the ball moving down court. Thanks to Leah for your voice on the side, Heilde for umpiring and Andrew for scoring. Enjoy your week off and come out firing which will be another close game. Awards: Fasta Pasta / Melzar - Maddie B, Somerset - Zoe F, Millicent Florist / Harper and Co -Caity C.

A Reserve: Aer a solid game from us in our previous game, it was tough to go down by 20. The game started off strong from both sides with Tant taking the lead by 7 at quarter me. Their defensive pressure was too strong and their lead connued to grow heading into half me. The third quarter saw a lot of back and forth from both sides, with us keeping them to four goals. Despite our strong third quarter, their lead was too strong for us to peg back. Was a disappoinng effort aer our amazing game a few weeks ago. Our awards went to our defensive end, Simone - Denton's Sportspower and Heidi - Zambreros. A week off will be good for us to reset!

A Grade: Mt Burr 44 lost Tant 57. Not the start we wanted but hell we gave a good tussle to get back in the game but unfortunately leng it slip away! So many posives out of this game especially from our youngsters! Chloe Newton - Sports Power Award, Olivia Dean - Zambreros, Abbey Falng - Somerset Hotel Award, Ella Easterby - Millicent Pharmacy

Congratulaons to Amelie Cary, Ruby Buckley and Maddy Bignell who all play their 50th Club Game today. Amelie and Maddy will feature in the 17s and Ruby the 15s. Good luck girls!

Junior 2: What a great game girls! We are improving each and every week which is fantasc to see! Great job by Adele and Malda in goals and well done to Adele on scoring a goal! Savannah was fabulous in centre in the first quarter and made lots of great drives. Ruby, Iva and Addison all played really well through the mid-court, all causing turnovers and Isabella, Addison and Iva were great in defence, doing well at staying with their players. Best player went to Addison for great listening and wonderful rebounding and intercepts in the last quarter (LICO Pty Ltd Award) and second went to Iva for coming back from injury last week and working hard on keeping with her girl (McDonalds Award). Let's keep going girls!

Junior 1: A great game on another sunny morning. Everyone worked hard all game and you all listened and adjusted your game. Defenders got so many touches and rebounds and worked well to bring the ball out of defence. Mid court made some great drives and were posioning themselves well on the goal circle. Goalies you worked hard to implement everything that Tamara taught you at training which was great to see. Encouragement went to Hollie for great drives and adjustments, I asked you to change your game and you worked hard. Best went to Mikayla, you worked hard in goals all game with great shots, good driving and perfect passes. Enjoy the week off everyone, see you all aer the long weekend!

13 & Under: Glencoe 38 defeated Port MacDonnell 16. Well done team on another great win. We had a few players playing different posions and we adjusted well. Some fantasc defence by Jaylee and Jas with some excellent intercepts, rebounding and blocking out. It is great to see the things we have been talking about at training being used on the court. Mia, Lilly and Charloe did a great job in our mid court and Annabelle was our surprise goalie and shot extremely well and was well backed up by Hallie and Abbie. Best players were Jaylee (Key 2 Sale) & Jaz (Kaboom) –Encouragement went to Annabelle (Paradise Pizza).

15 & Under: Glencoe 34 lost to Pt MacDonnell 60. Tough game girls! We had some great passages of play Everyone stood to the challenge of taking on a new posion and you all did that well! We must remember to back ourselves, keep our heads up and keep the talk on the court going. Considering a few girls were not feeling 100% you all put in and showed great sportsmanship towards each other and for that you all deserve a pat on the back! Thanks Abbie & Mia for benching. Best players were Kloe Phillips and Ella Stewart and Encouragement went to Layla Hawke.

17 & Under: Glencoe 34 lost to Pt MacDonnell 73. We knew this was going to be a tough game. We tried our best all game just nothing seemed to fall into place. We had some great passages of play by everyone, we just need to keep trying and never giving up. Lots to work on at trainings so let's sck together and keep improving, the wins will come.

Best: Jena Jagger for her reless efforts in defence and Mckayla Maney for her great intercepts. Encouragement: Emma

Porter for never giving up at GK and trying hard.

B Reserve: Glencoe 46 lost to Port MacDonnell 73. It was going to be a tough game, going against a top of the table side with plenty of experience. We did well to keep within a small margin for most of the game unl unfortunately, our energy levels went down and easy mistakes were made. There were many examples of quick, accurate passing down the court and feeding into our goalies that we should take pride in as well as great efforts down in defence against a tall opponent. We will have a rest and regroup ready to take on the second half of the season. Thank you to our 17 & Under girls Alyssa, Shae, Montana and Amelie for playing and sing bench, we really appreciate it. Best players were Alyssa in her second game for the day, Jorja Owen and Caitlyn.

B Grade: Glencoe 39 lost to Port MacDonnell 41. A disappoinng game for us. We came out strong from the first whistle and contested hard in the first quarter to lead by 5 at the first break. There were some great passages of play and pressure all down the court. Port Mac came out hard in the second quarter and brought our lead back to 1 at the main break. Unfortunately, it was all downhill for us aer half me. It looked very flat on the court and we couldn't seem to get the fundamentals right. We rushed our passes and didn't play the smart netball I know we are all capable of, including not adjusng to the umpiring as required. It was a tough day but we need to use this loss to push ourselves at training and work hard now that we know what we need to work on. We have a great team and if we work together we can cement our place in the top 4. Best players went to Giaan Ferguson and Sally McDonnell.

A Reserve: Glencoe 50 defeated Port MacDonnell 31. A huge whole team effort last week, even with just our 6 able to play. Huge thanks to Kate who had a blinder in WD and scored a best player. But I could have easily given best player to any player in our team! The goalies moved so well together especially for a first me in together and they were fed to with precision by Jessie and Chloe. Sammie and Alannah were again another new combo and both worked so hard and created so many turnovers and then Kate would drive hard out of defence making the transion prey smooth. We stayed posive and played our game, staying controlled throughout. Well done girls!

A Grade: Glencoe 52 defeated Port MacDonnell 32. Great win girls. Again we had Tameka step up and fill a role for us. Great job seling into the game, adjusng to what we spoke about at the quarter breaks and rebounding strongly We had some really good patches with some great transion and then we found ourselves geng stuck and forcing balls that weren't on. It was great when we took our me and worked the ball down the court safely – no maer how many passes it took. Chantelle (O'Brien Electrical) held strongly under the post and was an opon out of the circle when needed. Sll plenty of work to do but we got a 20 goal victory when we didn't have our best connecon down court. Let's make the most of the week off and be ready to fire this week.

Junior 2: We played the Hawks on their home soil. The sun was shining, but the girls were shining brighter! They played an amazing game, showing great teamwork. It was great to see them sharing the ball and moving wonderfully to bring the ball down the court. This led to a large number of goals, which was great to boost the girls' spirits.

Junior 1: A tough game against Kongorong. We need to work on our leading to the ball and running ball side of our players. Once again you girls are playing as a team, encouraging each other on our good plays and showing amazing team work. We had a few loose balls that we followed, backing each other up on court looked amazing. Although no goals were scored we can definitely keep improving. Best players were Mia Moy & Madalyn Chaplin.

13 & Under: Great game from all everyone played really good netball no maer what posion they played. Was good to see us trying to get in front instead of leading behind all the me. Everyone on defence played well geng lots of hands to balls. Aack lone worked hard all game and leads got stronger as game progressed, great job. Keep working on it guys was great to see you all work so hard and enjoy it with a smile. Tia's Cafe went to Keeley and Wendy's to Izzy

15 & Under: A beauful day at the home of the Hawks and a great game put in by both teams. The score doesn't reflect the game with great passages of plays by both teams. Nangwarry each week you come out and fight and it's great to see the improvement and determinaon. It was a pleasure to play against you Kongorong and excited to play you next me.

B Reserve: Another beauful sunny day as we travelled to the home of the Hawks… everyone was in high spirits hing the court for the first quarter. Kongorong came out strong from the first whistle and played some great netball. A change in the Nangwarry team in the 2nd quarter gave us a lile more fight with some

addional pressure in the defensive end resulng in more turnovers this quarter for the Saints, but unfortunately could just not convert those turnovers into goals. Kongorong had a fantasc game and were too strong for the Saints. We're excited to see what we can bring to the table next me we face off

A Reserve: Well, it was one of those days where the scoreboard didn't quite reflect our best selves, but every cloud has a silver lining! Despite the challenges we faced, there were several moments that showcased our potenal and determinaon. The game provided us with a great opportunity to learn and grow. Every mistake is a stepping stone to improvement, and we've gathered plenty of insights to work on in our next pracce. Moving forward let's focus on sharpening our passing skills. Accurate and well-med passes will help us maintain possession and control the game beer. Enhancing our oncourt communicaon will ensure that we're all on the same page and can ancipate each other's movements more effecvely. Next game I would love to see us never give up, as this resilience is a core strength of our team. I am proud of you all as the way we support each other, both on and off the court, is fantasc. This supporve environment is key to our development and success.

A Grade: We had a strong start, which was great to see. Our efforts at trainings are starng to pay off, as shown by some impressive passages of play down the court. Each week, our scoring opportunies are increasing, showing that we're geng the ball into the circle to our goalies more frequently However, we're sll facing challenges in converng those chances into goals. With a bit more pracce outside of our weekly hour-long training sessions, I believe we can turn things around. A special shout out to Shelby, who made a return to the court but unfortunately went down with an ankle injury. We're all wishing you a swi recovery, Shelby! Best players - Jemma Glynn and Ebony Wurst.

Junior 2: The mini magpies had a challenging game with the bare 7. They all played well especially when we started geng the big shoulder passes happening. The defence among all the players has improved immensely with a tonne of intercepts all over the court. Now we need to work on the cung in front. Very happy with all the girls progress and they should all be feeling great with the improvements. Always hard to pick best players but Evie Cole got the Penola Recycling and Grace Mulligan got the Fasta Pasta with an impressive game each.

Junior 1: Slow start for our lile magpies, they found it challenging to verse a very tall team but did push through. They did well in listening to instrucons and feedback on how to get in front and to do prelim dodges to loose their players. Our mid court had great turnovers and provided some skills that they had learnt from their big buddy’s. Our goalies used their space well and worked hard on geng in front to get the ball over their tall players. Our defenders did not miss a beat and did extremely well to get lots of turnovers. All the girls should be proud. Best players Alyssa and Willow

13 & Under: We came out blazing and decided to rush our throws and not looking for the easiest passing opon. At half me we decided to change it up and worked on what we didn’t do in the first place with different players in different posions which made everyone think and steady up and control more. Fasta Pasta went to Emily she tried 100 percent and played well. Zara ran her lanes and had control of the centre posion and flow of the game receives the Mars Bar awards and Georgia first game back aer injury played amazing strong and confidence netball skills received OK Pie Shop award. We sll need to slow down play and implement front cuts to make it easier and flow to appear more consistent than rushing it down court. Keep up the good work and hopefully it comes soon.

15 & Under: A bit of a slow start with some unforced errors creeping in. Zoe (Aloha) and Molly (Penola Recycling) worked overme in defence to limit the Kongorong opportunies. Kiersten also ran the game out hard at centre and made some nice feeds. Sll some work to do on our fundamentals including ming, passing opons and posioning. Overall though a great team effort.

17 & Under: A disrupted start with us trying to fit our photos in with different grades (thanks Gav) but we sure didn’t let that affect our game or concentraon. We have spoken about being switched on and all of you did just that. You played the whole game hard from start to finish and in the right spirit. Credit to Kongorong for not dropping their heads and scking with it despite the score line. Best players - whole team. Awards Lily Brook (Aloha), Ashiah Earl (Kiralee Jade).

B Reserve: A disappoinng one in the warm weather. Once again more adjusng to new combinaons while we nurse some injuries and player availability. Ash stepped up from Under 17 and played a full game in the defensive circle and applied a lot of pressure to their goalies movements. She worked hard with Lydia all game and both girls denied their opponents the front cung. Emma as usual worked hard to minimise her WA’s impact on the game. We trialled many combinaons in the mid court to give some fresh legs. Jodi and Maddi combined well together as they usually do while they were put under a lot of pressure from their defenders. Thank you to Zoe and Lydia for giving us a hand with some extra experience and voice. Best were Lydia (The Ary) and Ash (Fasta Pasta).

B Grade: An exceponal team effort! We came out firing with some new combinaons in goals. Lucy created great space in the circle and combined well with Gina in the first half. We connued to work our angles around the circle and were rewarded for our efforts. Down the defensive end Emma and Bec were a force to be reckoned with. Through our talk around and in the circle they were able to get many touches and intercepts. Our ball movement down court was flawless and I can see we are really gelling as a team. Pressure was applied all the way down the court, allowing Sammy and Sarah to get many intercepts. Rhi was also a focal point in the ring and finished with accuracy. Very excited for what the future holds for our team. Best players: Emma Mules - Gambier Chemmart, Bec White - Café Melzar.

A Reserve: Another slow start for us this week. Our efforts in the first quarter set us up for the rest of the game so moving forward we need to start doing the hard work earlier. Defence worked as a good unit even with a couple of swaps. Aack had some good moments of play with Mel having another stellar performance. As the game went on we started to become more paent and look aer the ball a bit more to come away with a win. Let’s keep focusing on refining our basics and doing them well over the next few weeks. Best playersMel Russell - Aloha, Georgia DuncanKirralee Jade Makeup.

A Grade: A solid game overall, despite maybe a lile slower start then we would of liked. Our defence of Lara and Georgia didn’t miss a beat and regardless of the combinaon both played to each others strengths to create many turnover for us. Eb shot the lights out once again and were fed beaufully by Jayde and Jane. We welcomed Shayden in at WD for her A Grade debut, who took on lots and lots of feedback from the many coaches on the bench and was able to make a difference creang many turnovers. We will look forward to a couple of weeks off, and good luck to all the K’doo Magpies compeng at country championships.

Junior 2: Another fantasc game of netball was seen between Port MacDonnell and Glencoe, with each young player improving on their skills and enjoying the game. From the moment they stepped on the court, it was evident that these young girls are driven by their thirst for learning. Taking in every pointer from coaches and spectators you can see their young minds working and pung the strategies to play With our girls realising their potenal they're definitely a team to keep your eye on for the rest of the season, some fantasc up and coming netball stars. Our encouragement awards were awarded to Desny Johnson & Chelsea Grosvenor, thank you to McDonalds Mt Gambier & Wendy's for donang these awards.

Junior 1: Awesome game girls! You impress me every week; you have grown so much from the first game this year. You are working as a team, ming your leads and moving the ball down court with ease. Milah (Subway) played well in defence turning the ball over and keeping the pressure on the opposion. Brianna (Fasta Pasta) was finding space and driving down the court and also moving fantascally in the goal circle.

13 & Under: Glencoe 38 defeated Port MacDonnell 16. A slow start to our game scoring no goals in the first quarter, however our goalies Evie Jones and Lily Whan managed to shoot 9 in our second quarter with the help of our mid courters and defenders picking off intercepts. The girls may have not got the win but their confidence is growing so much and starng to gel finally! The girls may not feel like they are geng somewhere but from the sidelines, we definitely are. Way to go girls! Awards: Roxy Day - Wendy's, Torah Staples - Arena.

15 & Under: Glencoe 34 defeated by Port MacDonnell 60. Last game we played Glencoe. All the girls were very nervous as both teams were sing equal second. We came out strong and the nerves soon went away aer the first quarter. This was the best game I've seen them play all as a team and really gel together for all 4 quarters. Bailee who got best on court, had a ripper game. She only missed a couple of goals for the whole game, it was also her birthday. Layla who also was best on, had outstanding touches and intercepts throughout the game. Both these girls are our captains and showed great leadership on court yesterday Everyone should be very proud of themselves, we can see our hard trainings are really paying off

17 & Under: Glencoe 34 defeated by Port MacDonnell 73. Our 17U girls have connued their excellent form against Glencoe on what was another sunny day of netball. A highly contested first centre pass from both sides saw the bay girls come up with the first score of the game aer a long tussle to get there. Accurate shoong from goalies Lillie Lamb and Lilly Day combined with precision passing from Sophie Lewis and Bella McLean from the circle enabled us to convert on any opportunity sent our way. Bree Ridding stepped it up a gear in the second quarter, helping the team to push ahead further, using her pace and agility to her advantage. Half me saw some changes with Chloe Day stepping into goals and Jasmine Morgan into GD. Despite baling sickness for the weekend prior, Morgan worked her way into the game well, earning herself mulple intercepts up the court. Ruby Moody was a shining light in defence, her speed off the line and footwork around the circle enabled her to create countless opportunies for our team to break away on the scoreboard. She combined well with Alicetyn Stanley at GK who worked relessly to shut down her opponent, despite being significantly

outsized all game. Both girls earned themselves best player for their efforts, helping the team to a victory over the Murphies. The girls will no doubt enjoy a week of respite and we wish Sophie Lewis and Alicetyn Stanley all the best as they head to Adelaide to compete in the inter league compeon over the long weekend! Awards: Ruby MoodyIntersport, Alicetyn Stanley - Fasta Pasta. B Reserve: Glencoe 46 defeated by Port MacDonnell 73. In the heat of the season, Port Mac versed Glencoe in a fiercely compeve bale. From the first whistle it was evident that this was no ordinary game. With each quarter unfolding with relentless tempo, neither team was willing to yield. As the game progressed, tensions soared and the adrenaline grew higher, the scoreboard was a testament to the closely contested nature of the match. With Port MacDonnell holding a small lead throughout the first half, the girls pulled together and exceeded their lead, with a final score of 73 to 46. Best players were awarded to Ainsley Mann & Deanne Spencer, thank you to the Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro & Salem Moody Makeup & Beauty for donang these awards. Also a big thank you to our team sponsors Onix Form & Construcon and Illuminate Dance Co.

B Grade: Glencoe 39 defeated by Port MacDonnell 41. Great game girls! We all pushed hard and kept fighng to come back from being 5 goals down in the first quarter break! A great game from Jess Byrne who worked hard all game and implemented training to the court. Stevie came on in the last quarter and saved the day a few mes with some great touches and intercepts. Let's hope Ash's recovery is quick! Take a break this week and come back ready to go for Kongorong. Awards: Jess Byrne (Taylormade Hair & Beauty), Stevie Collins (Taylormade Hair & Beauty).

A Reserve: Glencoe 50 defeated Port MacDonnell 31. What a tough game it was. We had another couple of injuries to add to our never-ending injury list. We had a few changes throughout the court to adjust to. Thank you to our juniors who sit bench for us every week and step on the court. Brooke was a constant in the goal circle. Lara did a great job from moving from defence into goals. We just have to keep plugging away each game and going out and doing our best. Best: Lara Wilson (Salem Moody Make up & Beauty), Brooke Williams (Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro).

A Grade: Glencoe 52 defeated Port MacDonnell 32. Well what a completely different game to last week, we all seemed a bit flat and our drive and want for the ball just wasn't there. We started out strong but unfortunately couldn't compose ourselves to keep up with Glencoe. We definitely made too many silly passing choices which Glencoe were able to capitalise on. We had some great passages of play throughout the game but unfortunately, we need to have more of those types of plays and make it consistent across the four quarters. Instead, we had some great plays followed by silly passing choices and having that tunnel vision. Our defensive pressure all over court was again awesome and was consistent for all four quarters. Let's all make sure we have a well-earned break before one more game of the round before we head into the second round, I am excited to see what the second round holds for us as a team. Let's keep fighng and working hard. Best players: Kori Collins, sponsored by Australian Coastal Shipping (Voucher - The Bay Pizzeria), Alysha Coon sponsored by Australian Coastal Shipping (Voucher - Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro).

Junior 2: When everyone on the sidelines can see just how far you girls have come – it's a great sign everyone is learning and improving each week. It was a great team effort and every single player did some exceponal things. Lenny played her best game of the year! The awards went to Edie and Lilah Durca. 13 & Under: Bad luck girls. We played an absolute rollercoaster of a game going from such strong netball for some passages to mes full of simple mistakes that cost us heavily. Best went to Havana and Isabelle (Club Awards) for listening and applying what we have been working on at training successfully into their games. Well done!

The MSENA played a thriller against Great Southern Netball Associaon (GSNA) in the Division 2 (B grade) final in Adelaide over the Kings Birthday Long Weekend. Aer a topsy turvy minor round they came away with a 1 goal win in the Semi over Yorke Peninsula and earned themselves the opportunity to face the GSNA for the 3rd me over the weekend. Having gone down by 4 and 2 in the minor rounds they were seeking redempon.

The Mid SE started strongly breaking the 1st centre and scoring through Ebony McDiarmid. Nerves unseled Great Southern and Mid South East went out to a 4 goal to 0 lead, with Abbey Duncan seling the side, combining well with Annie Regnier and youngster Evie Sealey. With teams going goal for goal, defenders Alana Berkefeld, Demi Vanderhorst and Sarah Edwards worked relessly, forcing Great Southern into passing errors and missed shots.

Once Great Southern seled, the height of the GSNA GS and accuracy of their GA was causing headaches for the MSE defenders. The game connued goal for goal with the Mid SE defenders working hard to limit opportunies and forcing Great Southern into passing errors and missed shots.

Wayward passing in the Mid SE aack line allowed Great Southern back into the game. A late intercept by Edwards stemmed the flow and Mid SE went into ½ me 1 goal down.

Great Southern scored the first goal of the 1/2 and pushed out to a 19/16 lead.

The experience of Duncan and McDiarmid in the circle started to show with great posioning, feeding and accuracy. This combined with the strong defence of Vanderhorst, Berkefeld and Edwards Mid SE clawed back the 3 goal deficit. A held ball call late in the second giving Mid SE the opportunity to score through a penalty shot to Duncan, followed quickly by the full me siren evening the score 27 all.

Great Southern made some changes in the circle while Mid SE remained unchanged. Bith teams struggled to get the upper hand. Great Southern held a 1 goal lead at the break. A rare missed shot by the Great Southern GS was capitalised on and Mid SE scored

to even the game. Great Southern replaced their GA and pushed back to level the scores aer contact call to McDiarmid.

With scores even late in the game, great defensive pressure gave a turnover opportunity to Regnier, with Duncan scoring and giving Mid SE a 1 goal lead with 10 seconds to go. A defensive tap out by Vanderhorst disrupted the flow and the whistle went while in the Great Southern goal circle. Mid SE came away victorious with a 1 goal win.
