DA STRIP CLUB!
PAMELA MUNROE
Sometimes I like going to the strip club and othertimes I just like to let one of the neighborhood smuts take care of me when my girl be fronting with the cheeks. Most times, I just get some head, which ain’t hurting nobody. I meet up with Luscious, and for $40, she’ll holla. Afterwards, everybody is satisfied, even my girl, cause she gotta happier dude. I was talking to a YOACAP Outreach Worker who said I should get tested for STDs, but I'm good cause I only see Luscious three times a year. But then I thought about my girl & my lil princess, and I wanna be here for them! So I decided to get tested & stop getting hooked up. Follow my lead! Visit the mobile unit or call the hotline.

PHILADELPHIA’S ADOLESCENT STD/HIV PREVENTION PROGRAM Since April 2011, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH) campaign, Take Control Philly, has been spreading the word about the high rates of STDs, condoms use, and safer sex to Philadelphia adolescents. One of its main components was the design and launch of the Philadelphia–branded Freedom Condom. Since April 2011, about 5 million condoms have been distributed through a network of distribution sites, events, and online services. One of the exciting aspects of the Take Control Philly Initiative is the condom mailing program. This program runs through the website, www.TakeControlPhilly.org, and allows any teen living in Philadelphia to easily mail-order free condoms to their house. Within days, teens receive a discrete package of 10 condoms, info about using condoms correctly, a card linking them to the Take Control Philly’s website, & a telephone number for questions. Teens are encouraged to order up to twice a month. Social media has played a major role in the promotion of Take Control Philly and its services. Through Facebook, www.facebook.com/TakeControlPHL, over 8,000 teens have become an audience to safer sex and health promoting messages. This page has served as a forum for conversation on topics ranging from common STD misconceptions to thoughts on females carrying condoms. It has proven a valuable tool for identifying the needs of teens in Philly in regards to their sexual health.
PROJECT BUILD, IT WORKS! Do you know a teenager (14-18) who is not applying themselves, having difficulties in school, or may not be focused on the right things? They are a good candidate for Project Build. If your teenager Build youth attending is interested in improving them- Project College Access Center during selves, enroll them into a program Summer Job Workshop that can help them academically and socially. Youth meet afterschool from 4 pm-7 pm each day and are taught life skills, health, goal-setting, and ways to prepare for young adulthood. If you know a teenager trying to improve, have their parent call (215) 851-1968 to find out more information about Project Build and to get them enrolled.
SUMMER JOB WORKSHOP In March, our Community Advisory Group will meet with families in North Philadelphia to help them prepare for summer employment for their children. If you have a child between the ages of 14-21, the CAGs and its partner will be providing youth with Job Readiness Workshops and their parents with a summer job preparatory workshop. Families will be referred to the Philadelphia Youth Network to to apply for six weeks of summer employment. Attending the workshop does not guarantee a job, but it will help you get prepared to apply. Our goal is to give youth positive things to do so they will not have so much free time to get involved in unhealthy behaviors. To RSVP, please call Tajuana at 215.851.1968.
