Special Thanks to Brown's Shoprite & the Shane Victorino Nicetown Boys & Girls Club Our community advisory group (CAG) would like to thank all of our partners, especially Brown’s Shoprite located off of Fox Street and the Shane Victorino Nicetown Boys & Girls Club for allowing us to use their community meeting space. The Shane Victorino Nicetown Boys & Girls Club has provided YOACAP with space to meet each week as well as safe environment to refer youth to play, learn, get tutored and play organized sports. Brown’s Shop Rite has been a great help in providing employment opportunities for the community and being an advocate to address health, community safety and violence. We appreciate their support and encourage you to patronize their business as we continue to work toward completing our mission to help North Philadelphians live healthier by working together, bringing services in to improve our overall quality of health and life.

My cousin called me last night and said she had pain when she goes to the bathroom. I asked her what she thought it was, but she didn’t know. I believe she has a sexual transmitted disease, but I’m not sure cause I’m not a doctor. When I asked her, she said I don’t even mess with dudes, and I explained that it doesn’t matter if you mess with girls, guys or both, you can still catch an STD. She was shocked! I told her that everybody needs to get tested every six months, especially teens, young adults and anyone who is sexually active. I gave her YOACAP’s telephone number 215.851.1968 and asked her to call to schedule a test and get treated. She called and went to YOACAP and found out that she had Chlamydia. She was treated and learned a valuable lesson! Get tested, it only takes a few minutes. Make it part of your routine.
