Monet en pleine lumière

Àl’occasion du 140ème anniversaire de la première escale de Claude Monet à Monte-Carlo et sur la Riviera, l’exposition retrace l’œuvre de Monet et explore les séjours de l’artiste sur ces lieux en mettant en perspective son œuvre au regard de la quête de l’artiste de capturer la lumière. Rassemblant une centaine d’œuvres venues du monde entier sur un espace de 3000 m² le parcours, offre un nouveau regard sur le travail de Matisse.

Cette exposition, l’une des plus grandes monographies consacrées à Claude Monet au cours de cette dernière décennie, et sans doute aussi la plus audacieuse, avec des tableaux rarement dévoilés ensemble, est organisée avec le soutien exceptionnel du Musée Marmottan Monet à Paris.

Philippe Starck invite le public à un voyage inédit, surprenant, oscillant entre réel et imaginaire. Un itinéraire qui chemine entre espaces publics et sites touristiques (la Tour Eiffel, le canal Saint-Martin, le parc de la Villette), lieux de pouvoir (Palais de l’Élysée), et espaces de sociabilités (la boîte de nuit des Bains-Douches, le restaurant Caffè Stern…) avec le recours aux explications imaginaires et décalées de la pataphysique qui désigne la science des solutions imaginaires. Pour cette exposition Philippe Starck explore deux sortes de mystères : ceux que Paris recèle et ceux que lui, intentionnellement ou non, a cachés et continue de dissimuler dans ses réalisations parisiennes.

Philippe Starck invita il pubblico a un viaggio unico e sorprendente, oscillante tra realtà e immaginazione. Un itinerario che attraversa spazi pubblici e siti turistici (la Tour Eiffel, il canale Saint-Martin, il Parc de la Villette), luoghi di potere (Palais de l’Élysée) e di svago (la discoteca di Les Bains - Douches, il ristorante Caffè Stern, ecc.) con il ricorso a spiegazioni fantasiose e originali proprie della patafsica, che designa la scienza delle soluzioni immaginarie. Per questa mostra inedita al museo Carnavalet, Philippe Starck esplora due tipi di misteri: quelli che Parigi nasconde e quelli che lui, intenzionalmente o meno, ha nascosto e continua a nascondere nelle sue creazioni parigine.

Philippe Starck invites the public to go on a unique and surprising journey, oscillating between reality and imagination. A route that crosses public spaces and tourist sites (the Eiffel Tower, Canal Saint-Martin, Parc de la Villette), places of power (Palais de l’Élysée) and leisure facilities (Les Bains - Douches discotheque, Café Stern restaurant, etc.) drawing on the kind of original and imaginative explanations associated with pataphysics, which refers to the science of imaginary solutions. For this new exhibition being held at Carnavalet Museum, Philippe Starck investigates two types of mysteries: those that Paris hides and those that he, either intentionally or otherwise, has hidden and continues to hide in his Parisian creations.

In occasione del 140° anniversario della prima venuta di Claude Monet a Monte-Carlo e in Riviera, la mostra ripercorre l’opera di Monet ed esplora i soggiorni dell’artista in questi luoghi mettendo il suo lavoro in prospettiva rispetto alla ricerca dell’artista per catturare la luce. Riunendo un centinaio di opere provenienti da tutto il mondo in uno spazio di 3000 m², il percorso offrirà uno sguardo nuovo sull’opera di Matisse.

Questa mostra, una delle più grandi monografe dedicate a Claude Monet nell’ultimo decennio, e senza dubbio anche la più audace, con dipinti raramente esposti insieme, è organizzata con l’eccezionale supporto del Museo Marmottan Monet di Parigi.

To commemorate the 140th anniversary of Claude Monet’s frst visit to Monte-Carlo and the French Riviera, the exhibition retraces Monet’s work and explores the artist’s stays on the Riviera by taking a perspective look at the artist’s endeavours to capture light. Bringing together some 100 paintings from around the world in a 3000 m² space, the exhibition will offer a new look at Matisse’s work.

This exhibition, one of the largest solo exhibitions devoted to Claude Monet over the last decade and also unquestionably the most daring featuring paintings rarely exhibited together, is organised with the special support of Marmottan Monet Museum in Paris.

Il s’agit de la première exposition monographique organisée en Italie par Diego Sileo et Iolanda Ratti, consacrée à la recherche visionnaire et poétique du réalisateur et artiste vidéo italien Yuri Ancarani. À travers une sélection rigoureuse allant de ses débuts à nos jours, de nombreuses œuvres déjà présentées dans les principaux festivals et musées d’art contemporain internationaux, ont été sélectionnées et présentées, ainsi qu’un nouveau flm spécialement conçu pour le PAC.

Si tratta della prima mostra monografca in Italia che, a cura di Diego Sileo e Iolanda Ratti, viene dedicata alla ricerca visionaria e poetica di Yuri Ancarani, video artista e flm-maker italiano. Mediante un’accurata selezione di lavori, che procede dagli esordi ai giorni nostri, sono state selezionate e poste in rassegna numerose opere già presentate nei maggiori festival e musei d’arte contemporanea internazionali, nonché un nuovo flm pensato appositamente per il PAC.

This is the frst monographic exhibition in Italy which, curated by Diego Sileo and Iolanda Ratti, is dedicated to the visionary and poetic research of Yuri Ancarani, an Italian video artist and flm-maker. Through a careful selection of works, which proceeds from the beginning to the present day, numerous works already presented in the major international contemporary art festivals and museums have been selected and reviewed, as well as a new flm designed specifcally for the PAC.
