n the nineties, Kiwis opted for synthetic carpets in droves, with wool options making up only ten per cent of carpets in the showroom. In response, wool products have had a significant makeover in the last

five years, completely revamping the look and the durability to far exceed customer expectations. With wool, you can now expect substantially less fade and modern, luxurious designs to complement any interior. These days, over 50 percent of our carpets in the showroom are stunning 100 per cent wool carpets. Not only that, but wool is significantly more environmentally friendly both to manufacture and dispose of. Wool is without a doubt super luxurious to walk, lie and live on, and the difference is huge – you can come and lie on our carpet in the showroom any time you want!

Buying wool carpet supports our hard-working farmers and suppliers. Customers are realising more and more that they can buy New Zealand sourced, designed and manufactured carpets.

Naturally fire retardant, for a safer home If your house happens to catch fire (let’s hope not, but future-proofing is always a good idea), wool carpet doesn’t burn like synthetics do. Wool has a high keratin level, which means wool carpet has a high ignition temperature, low flame spread and low heat release properties.

Naturally hypoallergenic The wool fibre is resistant to dust mites and the growth of bacteria. Long, coarse fibres mean that the fibres are not inhaled and will not irritate the respiratory system while being non-toxic and biodegradable.

Cosy in winter and cool in summer Just like wool works for the sheep on the farm, your carpet will feel cool on hot days and warm when your toes are feeling the winter chill. Wool has tiny air pockets in the strand, and works perfectly as a fantastic insulator.
