Hanyue "Angelina" Zhao Exeter
The artist that inspired me was Steven Holl, a New York-based American architect and watercolorist. His conceptual formulations to create real buildings that incorporate a signature use of color, an impression of ‘poetry’ within physical places, and a constant preciosity of his foundational architectural sentiment. Furthermore, the major theme in his work is the impact of light on structures. Steven Holl explored the way natural light reflected off of buildings at different times of the day and in various weather conditions. In my opinion, the Loisium Visitor Center was designed by irregular patterns and polygons. The texture of the building was made by a material that can be reflected by light, which shows a strong sense of shape.
