Legendary Texas trio celebrating over 50 years of rocking with hotlyanticipated summer tour FORD CENTER / JULY 21 / 7:30 P.M.
Maybe it's the beards, but these guys never seem to age. Hard to believe, but the legendary Texas trio ZZ Top first grabbed the music world's attention way back in 1971 with the release of the appropriately-titled ZZ Top's First Album which laid the groundwork for their irresistible blend of boogie, hard rock and southern rock. It also proved that these fun-loving musicians - guitarist Billy Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard (ironically the only member of the band not sporting a mega beard) - have a playful, irreverent attitude that's served them well over the last five-plus decades. Indeed, many of the trio's biggest and most memorable hits - including "La Grange," "Tush," "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Legs" - smartly incorporate a sly sense of humor into the mix while never skimping on the powerful, driving riffs that keep their songs motoring right along. While the trio's debut appeared in 1971, it was the release of 1973's Tres Hombres featuring the classic single "La Grange" that really got the ball rolling in America. The guys backed up the album's top 10 success with 1975's Fandango which closed with the radio staple "Tush" still heard blasting out of car windows to this very day. But the true turning point in the ZZ Top story came about via the advent of MTV and the back-to-back release of Eliminator (1983) and Afterburner (1985), both of which employed a more synth-driven sound and capitalized on the impact of music videos. Few bands were bigger at the time thanks to a run of major hits, including "Gimme All Your Lovin'," "Legs," "Sharp Dressed Man" and "Sleeping Bag." Everywhere you looked, seemingly, the bearded ones were there. And that's just how we liked it. Many more rocking albums followed, including the most recent release, 2012's La Futura, which found the legendary trio firing on all cylinders. So get ready for an unforgettable evening at the Ford Center and be sure to give ZZ Top all your lovin', eh?

SUMMERLAND
TOUR 2021 Hoobastank's Doug Robb on the band's "best year," holding their own in a live setting, being big in Japan and more VICTORY THEATRE | JULY 28 | 7 P.M.
An annual alternative rock music festival founded by Everclear's Art Alexakis in 2012, the Summerland Tour is back in business after a year-long hiatus, once again showcasing some of the best bands of the 80s, 90s and 2000s. And the 2021 edition is no exception. In addition to headliners Everclear - known for such genre-defining hits as "Santa Monica," "Wonderful," "Father of Mine" and "I Will Buy You a New Life," - this summer's lineup includes Living Colour, Hoobastank and Wheatus. The former stormed up the charts in 1988 via the Grammy Award-winning "Cult of Personality" while the latter hit it big with 2000's "Teenage Dirtbag," a featured song in such films as Loser and Bully. And then there's Hoobastank, the multi-platinum California band that ruled the nü-metal era thanks to heavy anthems like "Crawling in the Dark," "Out of Control" and "Running Away." But despite gaining a reputation early on for penning dark lyrics, frontman Doug Robb was not afraid to show his vulnerable side. This willingness to be open and honest resulted in the number two Billboard smash, "The Reason," a heartfelt ballad that catapulted Hoobastank to new heights in 2004. Post-Summerland Tour, the band plans to play a number of headlining shows to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Hoobastank's debut album, released in November of 2001. Robb kindly spoke to News 4U ahead of the show at the Victory Theatre.

Well, that's very cool that you can hear that. I try really hard to use my voice and push it as hard as it will go. I pretty much learned that style from Rob Halford from Judas Priest. He can definitely scream even higher than I can - I try to do what he does and that's kind of how I warm up my voice to go on tour. I do vocal scales and then I also sing along to sh*t that's impossible [laughs]. And then I kind

SOUL ASYLUM Runaway train: Alternative rock giants poised to take tri-state fans on a wild ride
OLD NATIONAL EVENTS PLAZA / AUGUST 1 / 7:30 P.M. It's been a long and winding road for Dave Pirner, the driving force behind one of alternative rock's biggest bands since 1981. Formed in Minneapolis around the time that Hüsker Dü and The Replacements began their assault on the local music scene before breaking out on a national level, Soul Asylum took their time, seemingly in no hurry to chase success. But by 1988, the dominoes were beginning to fall. Hang Time, released that year, put the band squarely in the conversation. Its follow-up, 1990's And the Horse They Rode In On, proved that Pirner and fellow original members Dan Murphy and Karl Mueller were really on to something. And then came 1992's Grave Dancers Union. Released just as Nirvana was busy blowing up the entire musical landscape, this landmark album spent 76 weeks on the Billboard charts and was certified triple-platinum - thanks in no small part to the top 10, careerdefining hit, "Runaway Train." The mid-tempo ballad struck just the right tone, with Pirner detailing his experiences with depression in a soothing manner that spoke to people of all ages battling their own demons. Fast-forwarding a bit... Soul Asylum greeted the pandemic with 2020's Hurry Up and Wait, a return to form if there ever was one. The new release received glowing reviews across the board with the likes of Glide Magazine praising the band for retaining their "gritty sonic charm." And now you can hear tracks from it live along with songs spanning the whole of Soul Asylum's 40-year run. Don't miss out!

CLEAN BITE LIFE Healthy Cooking with Lindsay Rasure I recently received a sourdough starter and I can’t get enough of it! I have been making 72 hour fermented sandwich loaf bread that my family is obsessed with. I love that I can do a long ferment on almost anything to drastically reduce the gluten and phytic acid. Recently I had a very happy sourdough starter that I wasn’t sure what to make with it. I found a brownie recipe that I tweaked, and it needed to be shared! After the brownies cooled, I topped mine with homemade whipped cream.
FERMENTED SOURDOUGH BROWNIES BROWNIE INGREDIENTS: • 1 c. or 240 grams of dark chocolate (I used Theo brand 85% dark) • ½ c. unsalted butter (Kerry Gold is my favorite) • ½ c. sugar • 1 tsp. pure vanilla • 1/4 tsp. salt • 2 large eggs (room temperature) • ½ tsp. baking soda • ¾ c. mini chocolate chips • ¾ c. happy bubbly sourdough starter WHIPPED CREAM INGREDIENTS: • 1 c. heavy whipping cream (preferably organic) • 2 T. powdered sugar • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract CAKE DIRECTIONS: 1. Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Grease a square baking pan with butter. 2. Place chocolate and butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir continually until everything is melted and then remove from heat. 3. Add sugar and vanilla extract. Mix well making sure the sugar melts completely. 4. Add eggs and baking soda and mix well. 5. Add chocolate chips and mix until incorporated. 6. Add sourdough starter and mix gently. Do NOT over mix at this stage - just mix enough to incorporate the starter in the chocolate mixture. 7. Pour into the prepared baking pan. 8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-28 minutes. Try not to open the oven for the first 20 minutes. Check frequently after that. 9. To check if the brownies are done, insert a toothpick and see if it comes out clean. 10. Let the sourdough brownies cool completely before slicing. Brownies are best stored in the fridge or freeze individual squares so when a craving hits you have some DIRECTIONS FOR WHIPPED CREAM: 1. Set a bowl and beaters in the freezer for at least 30 minutes. 2. Get the beaters and bowl out of the freezer. 3. Add the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla. 4. Beat on high for several minutes until stiff peaks form. 5. Store leftovers in the fridge for 2-3 days or freezer for 2-3 months. Tri-state's busiest performer preps release of "Life Is," aims to hit the road in the coming months
Before the pandemic came along and spoiled the party, local musician Eddie Hudson - aka Hudsy - was playing upwards of five shows a week, scoring regular gigs at hotspots like Bokeh Lounge, Carson's Brewery, The Landing, The Rooftop, Ghost Quesadilla, Prime Time Pub & Grill and Jennings Street Public House. He made his living that way, in fact, but then it all went sideways as the tri-state locked down and months of bookings suddenly evaporated. But Hudson didn't give up - he's just not that kind of guy. You see, six years before Covid pulled the rug out from under him and stymied his momentum, the Canadian transplant received a harrowing diagnosis: Multiple Sclerosis. "After a two-nighter [performance] in a Winnipeg Pub I started to limp and couldn't figure out why," Hudson explains. "It didn't hurt - I just couldn't lift my foot." He consulted several doctors and endured numerous exams - but it would take several months to solve the mystery of a growing list of odd physical symptoms. Remarkably, rather than deter Hudson, MS only strengthened his resolve to pursue music; he lived harder than ever before, putting everything he had into making his dream a reality. Now Hudson is proving his resilience once again, striving to get back on track and reclaim his status as the tri-state's busiest performer. A recent packed gig at Bokeh Lounge - during which he effectively opened for himself, playing an acoustic set before returning to the stage to headline with a full band - signaled that he hasn't lost a step, musically speaking. But while the production is pristine, lyrically, "Life Is" is a lot messier - but entirely relatable. "It's all about getting in a fight with my wife," Hudson divulges. "We both have issues here and there and we try to struggle through it. The idea came to mind that during those bad moments it crosses your mind that this person's crazy - and then you're thinking that they think I'm crazy, too. Really, the idea is that life is crazy." Hudson hopes to put "Life Is" out in September and back it with a structured promotional plan. But the big push is for a full-band tour after the single's release. "I'm trying to develop that - to hit the road and play original music with a light show and everything; that's the ultimate goal."

PAUL WIEMEIER Former Calabash guitarist revisits singersongwriter roots with ongoing My Abyss singles collection

Featuring Jake Holder on fiddle and backing vocals by Anna Beth Pfafflin, the heartfelt original saw Wiemeier getting back to basics, stripping things down to the essence of a song with a lone acoustic guitar and minimal accompaniment. His emotional vocal delivery - highlighted by the gut-wrenching line, "there's a better way for you to be free" - signaled that honesty and authenticity were at a premium going forward. Wiemeier then followed this promising first effort with "Trouble," a reggae-inspired confessional featuring musical backing from Indy's Max Allen Band as well as Scott Jackson on keys. As the track locks into a serious groove, Wiemeier laments, "I'm in trouble with the Lord today/ I did something wrong/ I wish that I could take it back." And by god, you believe him.

FORTHRIGHT Local metal masters set to return with the musically expansive Anti Orthodox Somehow three years have slipped by since Evansville's Forthright released the blistering Kaleidoscopic Manslaughter, an intensely complex eight-song cycle that touched on all of their main influences, including Gojira, Death, Slayer and Metallica. Not surprisingly, the band's ability to professionally record new material - or to perform, for that matter - was severely hampered by the pandemic, a situation that contributed to the time-gap between projects. But mostly it comes down to one simple fact: Forthright albums are a bitch to make. And that's because each song evolves at a snail's pace with all three members - vocalist/guitarist Nick Bulger, guitarist Tyler Brown and drummer Eddie Goebel - offering input into the complicated writing process. Then there's the challenge of bringing such a musically expansive vision to life in the studio. In the end, however, all the pain involved in birthing a new Forthright collection is clearly worth it - especially if the first few shared tracks from the longawaited Anti Orthodox are anything to go by. "I'm also in a rock opera band called The Tapestry, so we've obviously been doing a lot of learning about classical music and choral music theory," Bulger notes to help explain the truly haunting nature of "Island of Sanity," a highlight on the upcoming album. It's a real step forward for Forthright with a mid-section that sounds like something off of The Omen soundtrack. "Tradition," on the other hand, barrels along like classic Slayer with a signature chromatic guitar figure - though Brown seems a bit surprised by the comparison. "The opening track on the album is even more Slayer," he promises. Meanwhile, the final track shared, "Throne of Bones" - originally intended for the previous release - enters like a musical jackhammer courtesy of Goebel's insane double-bass drum action before giving way to an anthemic chorus as Bulger shows off his melodic vocal chops. His versatility as a frontman remains Forthright's not-so-secret weapon. According to the band, Anti Orthodox will feature 13 tracks with the album structured in three parts for a dynamic, hour-long listening experience that boldly flies in the face of the current "singles only" mindset of the music industry. And the guys wouldn't have it any other way despite the sometimes tortured recording process. Succinct and amusing as ever, Goebel admits, "it sucked." But again, the end clearly justifies the means - or at least that's how Bulger sees it. "It's the best stuff that we've written and the best that we've ever sounded," he says, giving credit for the aural upgrade to War of Ages' Jack Daniels who mixed and mastered the album as well as to local producer Steve Tyner for capturing the heaviness of Forthright in the studio. The band is planning for an August or September release - and you can catch Forthright playing tracks off of Anti Orthodox live at Backstage Bar & Grill on August 21.

Marvel fans have been calling for a Black Widow movie for years and Scarlett Johansson is finally getting the standalone superhero film. As an original Avengers member, first making her appearance in Iron Man 2, Natasha Romanoff has been a staple of the Marvel universe since 2010 - and she has kicked butt from film to film, all the way to this well deserved powerhouse. What I love is that this project centers around Black Widow’s storyline with Stranger Things’ David Harbour as her father and Florence Pugh as a delightful addition as her no-nonsense, deadly little sister. Who doesn’t love a little superhero sibling rivalry?

Lena Hadley transforms from Cersei to killer mom with a gun while Karen Gillan transforms from jealous space alien Nebula to a ceiling crawling, flipping, gun-shooting ninja in this comedic yet thrilling assassin film. Like many action protagonists, Gillian loses her mom at a young age, only to be reunited with her once she is a full-grown killing machine. And in a full-circle moment it’s now her job to protect an 8-year-old girl from devious crime lords. And in reuniting with her own mom, she also connects with fellow femme fatales Michelle Yeoh and Carla Gugino. Empowering!

SAMMIE VHS ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT
Leah Crabtree and her husband live out in the country up in Princeton - a perfect area for dog ownership; however, as renters, they weren't allowed to house a furry friend. But recently, the couple's landlord gave permission and the search for a rescue began - a search that ultimately led to the VHS. "We really weren't looking for any particular breed - just visiting with the dogs and letting the dog pick us," Crabtree explains. "You can kind of tell when you hit it off with animals." One dog in particular, a Min Pin/Jack Russell mix with a great personality, made it known that he was very happy to see them. But "Sammie" was a senior - 10-years-old, in fact - which gave Crabtree and her husband pause despite their interest in adopting him. "We kind of debated on it, but we went back to visit him a couple of times and he recognized us and got excited so we decided this is the one," she says. Sammie made a wise choice, indeed. After spending a decade with his prior family who then dropped him off at the shelter when they had to move, he's now in a wonderful forever home where he'll live out the rest of his days in great care. Reportedly, Sammie has adapted to his new surroundings well - and not a single accident in the house since they brought him back to Princeton. "It was like he was meant to be here," Crabtree says. "As soon as you sit down he's in your lap wanting some loving. He's so well-behaved and doesn't chew on anything." And Sammie's smart, too. Crabtree notes that he knows the meaning of a number of words, but two in particular make him go bananas: car ride. "He starts barking and jumping up and down," she says. "On Sunday for lunch we always go to my husband's parents; it's like he knows and senses, starts pacing. As soon as we say we're ready to go he gets so excited." Yes, Sammie may be a senior, but he's still got plenty of puppy in him and still enjoys playing fetch, among other activities. But when the sun goes down, he's more than ready to snooze - on the couple's bed, as it turns out. "He'll jump up and we'll coax him up to us so we can pet him. We just feel blessed to have him."

It can be confusing when you hear words and phrases like “spill the tea” or “no cap.” No, these phrases don’t mean that tea has really been spilled or that we’re no longer wearing our baseball caps. Navigating through this lingo can be tough, especially when trying to communicate with teenagers. Luckily, you’ve come to the right place to learn just what your teenager is saying and even get a chance to engage in conversation using his/her lingo. Here are three popular phrases and words Gen Zers are using right now!

HOW TO USE:
If your teen is telling a lie and you know that it’s a lie, you can simply say, “cap” or “that’s cap” after they finish telling the lie. If you’re explaining the truth to your teen and want to emphasize that you’re not lying, you may insert “no cap” after you finish telling the truth.

He’s once again giving us all the goosebumps, butterflies and straight up feels. "The Climb Back" is a beautiful, hypnotic track that gets you grooving and meditating at the same time. I could listen to it forever and be at peace. "Applying Pressure" is a tasty tonguetwister with lyrics like, "Uh, applying pressure/ Started my grind where crime festers/ And nines showing like they in they second trimesters." Elswhere, "Close" gets you hooked with some gorgeous background vocals. Thank you J. TEXAS Hi BMG OLIVIA RODRIGO Sour Geffen Records High School Musical’s newest generation of superstar, Olivia Rodrigo has delivered a knockout debut album at only 18, capturing the hearts of everyone. Her lead single "Driver’s License" is a daily listen on the car ride with my 4-year-old daughter Sansa and it’s already an SNL skit classic, with Regé-Jean Page and several cast members breaking down the importance of the poetic lyrics over beers while playing pool. And they hit the nail on the head - there is just something about the way her falsetto simply hypnotizes you. Her follow-up singles "deja vu" and "Good For You" are just as good. The former gives you that glow-y halo around your heart while the latter makes you want to sing your heart out while plotting revenge against those who have wronged you. I can’t wait to see the trajectory of her career because I know she’ll be starring on stages for decades to come. - Marisa Patwa

The Scottish pop-rock band Texas, known in the States for their minor hit “Say What You Want,” returns with their 11th studio album. While tracks like the Donna Summer-sampled “Mr. Haze” and Wu-Tang Clan-featured “Hi” are certainly ambitious, the merging of psychedelic pop and hip-hop is a mismatched effort; however, “Just Want to Be Liked” fares better with its similarities to what made Plan B’s “She Said” a bona fide hit in Europe and bodes well for the rest of the album. But unfortunately, Hi takes a quick nosedive despite good intentions. The message of lost love in "Unbelievable" is dragged down by the overdone piano ballad structure in pop songs; “Moonstar” represents the only country-driven track but does not do anything to highlight the band’s charm; and 60’s-influenced R&B, jangle pop, and garage punk tracks like “Heaven Knows” and “Sound of My Voice” have opportunities to reinvent the wheel and create magic, but all spell out filler. Hi rebounds a bit at the end with the alternative dance-meets-soft industrial “Falling” and garage rock revival ditty “Had a Hard Day,” but I wanted to say “bye” halfway through this collection. - Freddie Bourne

BO BURNHAM Inside Netflix I’m blown away. I seriously cannot believe how good the new special by comedian Bo Burnham is. Burnham released a few comedy albums throughout his late teens and early twenties that were clever, though oftentimes quite juvenile. Retiring from comedy at age 25, Burnham took a backseat and wrote and directed the critically-acclaimed film Eighth Grade. In January 2020, Burnham decided to return to comedy... and then the pandemic happened. Inside is the result of Burnham locking himself up in quarantine and losing his mind. The special, which debuted as a 90 minute music video on Netflix, is incredible. Inside exists perfectly in the space between Weird Al and Father John Misty. It's also the best art project dealing with the pandemic and the turmoil of 2020. Burnham grew up, matured, and made something really remarkable. I think everyone should watch it. - Russ Finn
BLACK MIDI Cavalcade Rough Trade Records For what it’s worth, I play music in a rock band, and I wish the music I made sounded like the cacophonous, jazzy prog-rock jams found on Cavalcade, the second album by London’s Black Midi. If you listened to the group's debut, Schlagenheim, you heard a young band toying with a lot of different styles of rock music and successfully destroying those songs (in a good way) with dissonance and noise. Great news: If you liked Schlagenheim, you’ll love Cavalcade. The band has honed everything good from the first record to create an incredible rock album that feels really fresh in 2021. If you like experimental rock that echoes 70's prog-rock, 80's post-punk, and noisy, psychedelic jazz jams, please listen to Cavalcade. - Russ Finn
LAVA GULLS Transience Self-Released I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing this Nashville DIY band perform on two occasions, and I’m a fan of their first two albums. Lava Gulls’ style reminds me a lot of Animal Collective, as they incorporate a densely-layered electronic pop sound while singing in a similar timbre. By no means, though, do I want to reduce Lava Gulls to an Animal Collective clone. They create much more of a party atmosphere, coming across as an uplifting DJ/ dance act. Transience, Lava Gulls’ third release, is their best and most confident yet. Its sleek production and thoughtful lyrics, mixed with its upbeat and interesting instrumental choices, make Transience a notable record amongst the Nashville scene. - Russ Finn
FLOTSAM & JETSAM Blood in the Water AFM Records No discussion of the titans of thrash metal would be complete without an examination of Arizona’s Flotsam and Jetsam. Since 1986, this committed band led by vocalist Eric AK Knutson has delivered uncompromising, ferocious and brilliantly composed albums. 2021’s Blood in the Water is a relentless onslaught of intricacy, driving riffs, beautiful harmonies, and rapid-fire drum work. Original guitarist Michael Gilbert is just as fast and accurate as ever, and Ken Mary’s pummeling drum work is exquisite - he really shines on this one. Metal fans sometimes lament that there is no "new" good music out there, but that simply isn’t true. If you’ve never given this band a chance, pick up Blood in the Water - every track is outstanding. Standouts are "The Wicked Hour," "Too Many Lives," "Brace for Impact," "The Walls" and the title track. Flotsam and Jetsam are going to have a very difficult time topping this one! - Matt Alschbach
Blues with Bragin ALLY VENABLE Heart of Fire Ruf Records A blues-rock legend in the making, Ally Venable returns with Heart of Fire. The opening guitar lick on the title track seems reminiscent of classic Jimi Hendrix. “Played the Game” features a change of pace with Venable showing off her skills on acoustic guitar. The classic feel at the beginning of “Hateful Blues” is quickly replaced by Venable’s signature blues-rock sound. The drumming from Elijah Owings matches the intense guitar. “Road to Nowhere” features a guest appearance from Devon Allman. The heavy guitar solo in the middle of the song perfectly complements the lyrics about giving everything to someone and not receiving enough in return. “Bring on the Pain” sees Venable going head-to-head with special guest Kenny Wayne Shepherd. The aptly named “Hard Change” features more hard-driving guitar from Venable with a heavy metal edge. “Do It in Heels” is a toe-tapper and girl power anthem rolled into one. More Hendrix influence shows up in “Sad Situation.” A cover of the Bill Withers classic “Use Me” features a funky bass line from Bobby Wallace. “Tribute to SRV” offers an instrumental with a great fusion of blues and jazz elements. The album closes with “What Do You Want From Me,” a song about a relationship on the skids. Blues-rock lovers need this album. - Paul Bragin

Ski soda plus a Kolsch style beer equals BrewSki. This pours golden with a nice white head that dissipates quickly. The citrus notes are clear on the nose. Once this hits the palate, you are immediately struck with a sweetness that you aren’t expecting. If you are a Ski lover, and tend towards sweeter beverages, you should give Brewski - with a sessionable 3.5% ABV - a try.
A thick white head tops this gold beer, but disappears somewhat quickly. The scent contains a decent amount of lemon lime scent. Likewise, the first sip of the beer boasts more lemon lime flavors reminiscent of Ski. People who want something stronger than a regular soft drink will want to try this on sweltering summer days. Use it as an ingredient in your favorite desserts like lemon meringue pie, key lime pie or pineapple upside-down cake.
This beer pours a clear amber color. You can smell the sweetness of the Ski right off the bat. I have to admit that I'm not a die-hard Ski fan but you have to give them a little credit to try this and for sure this is a solid Kolsch style beer. A touch sweet for me, but Ski connoisseurs should dig it.

This shandy pours a clear golden hue, with no lingering head. On the nose there is a hint of grapefruit and a distinct sweetness. The sweet flavors continue to the palate and the presence of orange and grapefruit juices is apparent. Someone who likes hard seltzers or ciders might want to give this a try. At 4.5% ABV, it is very sessional.
A thick white head rests on this shandy and takes a moment to evaporate. A generous amount of sweet citrus notes from the grapefruit and orange fills the nose. The sweetness from the juices used during brewing hits the tongue first and stays in the finish. People who want something cold and refreshing on a hot summer day should try this. Pair it with a meat and cheese tray or something light like grilled fish.
This is a clear amber beer and I can smell the fruit right away. I can taste the orange juice but just a little of the grapefruit mixed in. I like the sweet hops. This beer is easy to drink and very refreshing - a great summer BBQ drinking beer. I really enjoy the citrus beers during the summer and this one is pretty solid.

This is a classic weissbeer from Munich, Germany. It pours a cloudy orange hue with a thick white head. On the nose is a slight tartness from the yeast. These esters continue on the palate, and it finishes with just a touch of malty sweetness. If you are a lover of wheat ales, this is a must-have beer for your beer cave. It’s a perfect representation of the style.
A thick white head crowns this German wheat beer when poured in a wheat beer glass and never totally evaporates. The scent contains sweet notes with some banana familiar to wheat beers present. The sweet banana continues with the initial tasting, along with wheat flavors. Banana returns in the finish. Pair it with lighter foods like salads, grilled fish, or especially German dishes like sausages, sauerkraut and pretzels.

This beer pours a hazy amber color. I have to say that this is one of my all-time favorites. I love the sweetness brought on by the malts and yeast. It has a little orange peel and coriander flavor mixed in. Also, it has a 5.5% ABV and comes in a pint can. The unfiltered wheat beers really appeal to me and this is one of the best.

the palate and fairly dry, this finishes with a slight tartness. Bright, refreshing and just 99 calories. I declare this a perfect lawnmower beer.

This beer pours a clear yellow with a lot of carbonation. I have enjoyed other Ballast Point beers and this one is pretty good, too. With only 99 calories and an ABV of 4.2% I consider this a “light” lager - a very simple beer with a refreshing flavor and a crisp, clean finish.

Q: I was injured at work due to - in my view - the negligence of my employer. In general,
how difficult is it to prove negligence in a personal injury case and/or what are the main factors that play into proving a negligence case?
A: In Indiana, when you are injured on the job the only claim you normally (there are some exceptions) have against your
employer or coworker for injuries is known as a “workers' compensation” claim. To bring a workers' compensation claim, you actually do not need to prove anyone is negligent. Rather, you just have to show the injury was: accidental; arose out of the employment relationship; and occurred in the course of employment.
This standard for a workers' compensation claim differs from the standard for bringing a personal injury claim. A personal injury claim is when you bring a claim for injuries against someone other than your employer or coworker. In a personal injury case you must prove the at-fault person or entity owed you a duty of reasonable care, the person or entity was negligent in breaching that duty and that the breach of duty caused your injury.
Keep in mind that it is possible to have both a workers' compensation claim and a personal injury claim for the same accident and injury. An example of such a situation would be if you were driving a vehicle for your job and you were hit by another
motorist. Here, you were injured by an accident that arose out of, and in the course of, your employment (workers' compensation claim) and the other motorist, who was not your coworker, breached his/her duty of reasonable care and caused your injuries (personal injury claim).
Of course, there are exceptions to these general rules. So, you should seek the advice of an experienced injury lawyer that can help you identify what type of claim(s) you may have, the time deadlines and next steps.
