JOAN MIRÓ FOUNDATION
Barcelona’s contemporary art museum opened in 1995 with a mission to offer a diverse range of artistic visions. Its permanent collection includes works by Klee, Klimt and Tàpies. Temporary exhibitions constantly challenge our ideas of contemporary art and existence.
This is the largest collection of Miró’s graphic art, with over 500 drawings and notebooks, 225 paintings and 150 sculptures. Highlights include the sculpture gallery with the Mercury Fountain by Alexander Calder, and Espai 13 which features the work of young artists.
