I know first-hand the struggles that come with promoting my business and putting myself out there. I've always been someone who preferred to work behind the scenes and let my work speak for itself, but I quickly realized that wasn't enough to grow my business.

I needed to become more visible, but the idea of networking and self-promotion made me feel uncomfortable and drained.

That's when I had the idea to launch Building Her Dream (BHD). I wanted to create a platform where introverted women entrepreneurs from all over the world could come together, find community, and get inspired while also gaining the visibility they deserve for their businesses.

BHD is a place where introverted women can connect with like-minded individuals who understand their struggles and challenges. Our magazine and website are filled with real stories of women who dared to dream big and accomplish their goals We showcase their journeys and the obstacles they faced along the way, as well as the strategies they used to overcome their fears and doubts.

Our goal is to inspire other introverted women entrepreneurs to do the same. We believe that introversion is not a weakness, but a strength, and we want to help other introverts see the value in their unique qualities.

Creating BHD has been an incredible journey for me. I've met so many amazing women. I'm proud to have created a platform that celebrates their individual talents and abilities.

If you're an introverted woman entrepreneur looking for community, inspiration, and support, I invite you to stay connected with Building Her Dream. As this is just the beginning; we have more in store for you.

5 WAYS PARTNERING WITH INTROVERTED BUSINESS OWNERS CAN ACCELERATE YOUR BUSINESS

It’s 2023 and we're claiming victory in your business this year!

So, let’s talk about introverts. For the purpose of this article, we’ll define an introvert as someone who is introspective and prefers spending time in smaller groups (as opposed to larger groups.)

There’s a misconception that all introverts are shy. Not. True. Introverts prefer solitude and peace to work in their zone of genius without entertaining the small talk. Too much stimulation and “small talk” drains them. This is why they are the best partners one can ask for in business.

When thinking about expanding your business, choosing the right partner is critical! I mean, how else are you going to scale?

You know that you need someone who can be your right hand, someone that you can trust in more ways than one, and someone who is proactive in getting things done.

5 WAYS PARTNERING WITH INTROVERTED BUSINESS OWNERS CAN ACCELERATE YOUR BUSINESS

Another set of hands is great, but you don’t just need a warm body to dabble in your business.

Let’s face it.

Who can check off all of these checkboxes?

Who will be committed to you and your business and help you take your business to the next level?

An introvert - that’s who.

Introverts can accelerate your business in so many ways.

Let’s count the ways.

INTROVERTS PROVIDE EXCEPTIONAL SUPPORT!

They’re an extension of YOU - the business owner.

What makes their support so amazing?

Introverts don’t need to be the star of the show. They don’t even want to be. They can help you shine in your business and are happy to do so. They’re like supporting cast members in a play.

Can you function without them? Absolutely! But introverts add so much value and dimension to the production. Their absence is felt and their presence is immensely valuable.

INTROVERTS ARE FOCUSED AND PASSIONATE ABOUT THEIR WORK.

Give an introvert a task and fagettaboutit.

Introverts don’t need to be micromanaged. Once they are operating in their areas of expertise, they will give you quality work and nothing but their best. Let. Them. Be.

They know what they’re doing and they’ll tackle your projects in a timely mannerand they’ll be happy to do so.

2.

3. INTROVERTS ARE LOYAL AND COMMITTED.

One thing you may have heard about introverts is that they prefer intimate relationships. This means that they enjoy having fewer intimate relationships compared to numerous “surface” relationships. Introverts don’t enjoy networking with lots of people. They’d prefer to get to know you and your business and establish a long-term relationship with you than to constantly hustle for clients. If your goal is long-term support with someone to help grow with you and your business, find your next introverted business partner and get to work. They will treat your business as their own!

We all know that when left to our thoughts and in our zone where we are hyperfocused, this is when we are most creative and productive. Introverts are known for being reflective and they do just that. Hello, introverts! Come on, innovation!

Along with being innovative, introverts are going to approach their work through an analytical lens. They’re going to evaluate your processes and reflect on new ways to help you SHINE! Because remember, they don’t aspire to be the star, but they thrive on helping YOU to be the star. And they’re happy with that.

That’s right! They’re not little robots that you train to do one task and they get it done on repeat.

No, introverts will learn your way of doing things, and before you know it, they will come up with more efficient processes, designed to help you continue to shine while improving your business.

How many times have you sat down to tackle a task and before you know it, an hour has passed and you’ve fallen into your zone of genius and knocked out some major items on your to-do list?

So, do you need bookkeeping services? Have you considered a business partner who identifies as an introvert?

Virtual Assistant support? Find an introvert. Copywriter? Sis. It’s time to hire an introvert.

So next time you meet someone who appears more reserved and observant, don’t count them out as shy and incapable of helping you take your business to the next level. Go over there and introduce yourself. You may be meeting your next supporting cast member or, even better, your next right hand in business.

5 WAYS PARTNERING WITH INTROVERTED BUSINESS OWNERS CAN ACCELERATE YOUR BUSINESS

Introverts are creative and innovative in how they work. Because they are charged up in solitude and small groups, they are constantly innovating and keeping up with new trends. This is the type of knowledge and expertise you need on your team. Allow your introverted business partner to do what they do best and watch your business take off!

What does your dream life look like?

Are you currently living your dream or still working on it?

My dream life includes, lots of travel, speaking, and writing more books along with family activities with my loved ones. I am still working on my dream life being only those things and not so many other work activities involved, however I get the feeling that I'll always have a desire to do something creative.

Tell us about the work you do.

I'm a business consultant, motivational speaker/singer/poet, event planner, brand manager, creative producer, international author, life coach and a host of other things that I do on an as need basis.

At The AIM Agency, we help clients take their idea to brand, brand to business, business to elevation and profits while

What inspired you to start these businesses?

I set out to be the person I needed along the way. If iI wanted to see something different, I knew I would have to create it and become it. Both AIM & ISN work hand in hand and are solving problems for similar client profiles. I have been each and every one of our clients before. Their problem has also been my problem before. The difference is, I didn't have a me for me when I had those problems.

The hands on experience I have as well as the creative strategies I use along with the training and mentoring I've had made it a no brainer to create a business that could help others that were like me when I needed guidance and solutions.

How has being an introvert affected your business? And how do you use it to your advantage?

The affect it has had on my business has been good. After learning how to embrace it my profit

personality and business lifestyle, which couldn't have happened without being an introvert and having the experience. It has helped me always be READY to work with a client and get it done fairly quick. If I'm home most of the time in front of my computer anyway, I can knock out projects quick and clients love that when the work is done correctly.

How do you balance your need for solitude and alone time with the demands of running a business?

It's super easy for me, I spend 80% of the time working alone from my computer and phone, where ever I am in the world. The other 20% is with the teams and physical events etc. I only schedule calls and/or meetings at times I know I can handle based off the entire schedule. Self-awareness is really important for me and I am very vocal about it so people know and understand.

How do you handle networking, pitching, and other activities that require you to be extroverted?

I utilize the internet and online opportunities to build rapport and relationships first. This helps me become more comfortable with the person that by the time we meet in person, I've already had time to prepare and be ready.

What has been the most rewarding experience for you as an entrepreneur?

The results and the responses and feedback from my clients. I really enjoy seeing their faces light up and hear how I helped them solve what they thought was a problem but to me small things to a giant. I know that each time I help and serve others there is something greater already in route to me, so that also makes me happy to do more knowing I'm already taken care of at all times.

What strategies have you used to successfully grow your business?

I use a few simple strategies together at once helping to make a big difference and to keep us constantly growing in various areas.

How do you stay motivated and inspired when things don’t go as planned?

I write music, journal, doodle, sing, dance or call a friend. I often think of my reason's why and those who are waiting on me to show up, needing my help, my skill, or my creation. I ask for guidance from my helpers and push forward in creativity.

How do you define success for yourself and/or your business?

I define success by my results of the work we do for others, am I accomplishing my goals, and by how much I'm growing in areas that matter to me. Success is truly defined by you and looks different for us all.

Do you think it's possible to maintain a healthy work-life balance as an entrepreneur? If so, how do you do it?

Yes, absolutely. I feel that its important to have your work fit into your lifestyle. By doing so, it's much easier to balance it all because it almost never feels like work.

How often do you take a vacation away from your business? What did you do on your last vacation?

I go when I feel like it. No set timing thanks to entrepreneurship. I make my vacation workrelated always, on purpose.

My entire 2 year book tour was a vacation. I traveled many different places within the US promoting my book, "It Starts With I", and having heart to heart talks with people who needed to be told, they had everything within to be what they desired. I stayed in mansions, pent house suites offered to me at pennies and often went to the neighborhoods that were more urban to connect with people who were in places I had once been.

My support from The Most High was at an all time high and I knew it was because I had a job to do and was fortunate enough to truly enjoy every moment while serving. My life was impacted by those I was sent to help.

What have you learned about yourself and your business throughout your journey?

I've learned that no matter what it is that I want to do, I hold the power to making it happen. What I can't seem to figure out, I can collaborate with someone else to get the job done. What is taking too much of my time or depleting my energy, I can delegate to someone else. It is very important to put ME first and focus on the things that require MY attention. TEAM WORK truly makes the dream work.

What do you believe are the most important skills that an introverted entrepreneur needs to develop?

It's important to learn how to network to increase your brand awareness, visibility, credibility, and authority without having to be super social. The internet is your BFF and meeting people where they are REALLY WORKS. Your communication skills are key as an introvert. If you don't like being social or small talking, DON'T DO IT. Be direct and straight to the point while still being professional and appealing to the needs of the client or potential client.

What advice would you give to other introverted women who are just starting their own businesses?

Take the time to get to know your ideal customer and adjust your business around what works for you. Consider collaborating with extroverts who can be your better half in areas you don't feel comfortable in. It's always easier said than done so if you need help, book a strategy call with me and I'll help you map it out and hit the ground running.

Furthermore, I remain committed to offering clients the best deals possible and helping them with every step of the process - from planning the trip to offering additional tips and support after their return. My goal is to make sure that my clients have the most rewarding and enjoyable travel experiences possible!

How did you get started with your travel business?

My love of travel began when I was young and enjoyed going on family vacations I always loved learning about new places and cultures, and seeing new sights. As I grew older, I became interested in planning trips and helping others to have amazing travel experiences. This led me to becoming a travel agent. I love being able to help people plan their dream vacations and see the world Travel is such a wonderful way to learn about new cultures and to create lasting memories. I am so grateful to be able to share my love of travel with others and help them create their own amazing travel experiences.

You’ve been in business for 7 years. What has been the most rewarding experience for you?

As proud small business owners, my husband and I have taught our children the invaluable lessons of entrepreneurship. We believe it's essential to gain a sense of independence, experience success and learn financial literacy, which our children have developed as they have navigated their own business journeys. Our experience of traveling the world and witnessing their successes has been more rewarding than any monetary reward they may have earned We are certain that their business skills will remain invaluable to them no matter where their lives may take them.

What strategies have you used to successfully grow your business?

Leveraging business networking and collaboration has been invaluable for me in terms of expanding my reach and connecting with prospective customers I've built strong brand recognition by participating in industry events, joining applicable organizations, and partnering with other companies for the purpose of joint promotion or cross-marketing initiatives.

Building customer loyalty and repeat business is a core principle of my success. Crafting an exceptional customer service experience, together with introducing loyalty programs and incentives is what drives my customers back I'm confident that minimizing their effort and enabling them to get more for less through my services keeps them coming back.

Do you think it's possible to maintain a healthy work-life balance as an entrepreneur?

Yes, I believe that it is possible to maintain a healthy work-life balance as an entrepreneur To achieve this, I have a few tactics that I make sure to employ on a regular basis. First and foremost, I make sure to give myself regular breaks throughout the day, both for mental and physical health reasons. I make it a priority to dedicate a certain amount of time each day to non-work activities like exercising or catching up with friends. I also make sure to take vacations to allow myself some time to completely unplug and unwind

Additionally, I try to schedule some time in my workday specifically for taking care of my mental and emotional well-being. Whether that's reading a book, writing, or meditating, I know that these activities are important for sustaining a healthy work-life balance. With these practices, I'm able to remain productive and satisfied with my job as an entrepreneur.

HOW TO FIND YOUR PASSION IN LIFE

Finding your passion is an exciting journey that can lead to a fulfilling and rewarding life. However, it can also be a daunting task, especially if you don't know where to start Many people spend years searching for their passion without success.

The good news is that there are steps you can take to discover what you truly love and turn it into a career or a hobby Here are some practical tips on how to discover what you’re most passionate about in life.

Take an inventory of your interests and skills

The first step to finding your passion is to take an inventory of your interests and skills.

Make a list of the things that you enjoy doing, the activities that make you happy, and the skills that you possess. It could be anything from cooking to hiking, from writing to public speaking, and from painting to playing an instrument. Don't limit yourself and be honest about what truly excites you.

Try new things

Trying new things is an excellent way to discover your passion. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and experiment with new activities or hobbies. Sign up for a class or workshop, attend a networking event or volunteer for a cause that you care about. This will expose you to new experiences and people, and may even help you discover a hidden talent or passion

Follow your curiosity

Curiosity is a powerful tool for finding your passion. Follow your instincts and explore the things that pique your interest. If you find yourself drawn to a particular subject or topic, take the time to learn more about it Read books, watch documentaries, attend seminars or conferences, and connect with people who share your interests. This will not only deepen your knowledge but also help you identify your passions.

Reflect on your values

Your passions are often closely tied to your values. Take some time to reflect on what you value most in life.

article www.BuildingHerDream.com 35

Is it creativity, adventure, helping others, making a difference, or something else? Your passions are more likely to align with your values, so understanding what's important to you can help you find your purpose

Pay attention to what energizes you

Passion is often associated with a sense of energy and excitement. Pay attention to the activities that leave you feeling energized and fulfilled, and take note of those that drain your energy This will help you identify the things that bring you joy and motivate you to pursue your passion.

Start small

Finding your passion is a process, and it's okay to start small. Don't feel pressured to make a significant change right away. Start by incorporating your interests into your daily routine, whether it's by taking a few minutes each day to practice a new skill or joining a club or group related to your passion. This will help you build momentum and gain confidence as you move forward.

Finding your passion is a journey that requires self-reflection, experimentation, and patience. Remember, it's never too late to discover your passion, and there's no right or wrong way to go about it By following these practical tips, you can begin to uncover your interests, values, and strengths, and turn them into a fulfilling and rewarding career or hobby.

What inspired you to start your business?

I've always been passionate about helping businesses build and develop their talent. But my inspiration for starting this business goes back to my teenage years, when my mother started her own employment agency

At the time, my mother was physically disabled and faced significant barriers to employment Despite her qualifications and experience, she was often overlooked by potential employers due to bias and discrimination. That's when she decided to start her own employment agency, with a mission to help people like her overcome these barriers and find meaningful employment.

Through my mother's work, I saw firsthand the impact that bias and discrimination can have on people's careers and lives. But I also saw the power of talent acquisition and development in unlocking potential and helping people achieve their goals I knew that I wanted to build on my mother's legacy by helping businesses learn how to see and understand top talent, without bias or discrimination

That's why I started GoMillion HCG, with a mission to help businesses build and develop high-performing teams that are diverse, inclusive, and equipped to achieve their full potential We believe that by helping businesses overcome the barriers to talent acquisition and development, we can help create a more equitable and prosperous business landscape

INTERVIEW WITH FRANCES GOMILLION www.BuildingHerDream.com 40

My mother's story taught me the importance of building a business that is grounded in empathy, understanding, and a commitment to making a positive impact. At GoMillion HCG, we carry those values with us in everything we do, and we're committed to helping businesses achieve their full potential by investing in their most valuable asset: their people.

What has been the most rewarding experience for you as an entrepreneur?

I've had many rewarding experiences, but the most rewarding experience for me has been seeing the impact that our work has had on the businesses we've worked with.

At GoMillion HCG, we're passionate about helping businesses build and develop high-performing teams that are equipped to achieve their full potential. Over the years, we've had the privilege of working with businesses of all sizes and across industries, and we've seen firsthand the transformation that can happen when businesses invest in their people.

From helping startups build their first teams to supporting established businesses in overcoming longstanding talent acquisition and development challenges, we've seen the impact that our work can have on businesses and their employees Whether it's through improving employee retention, driving growth, or creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace, the impact of our work is felt across the entire organization.

For me, the most rewarding experience has been seeing the success of the businesses we've worked with and knowing that we played a role in helping them achieve their goals. Whether it's seeing a client achieve record growth or hearing from an employee who has been able to take their career to the next level, these are the moments that make all the hard work and long hours worth it

As an entrepreneur, there's nothing more fulfilling than knowing that your work is making a positive impact on the world. I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do what I love every day, and I look forward to continuing to help businesses and their employees achieve their full potential

How do you stay motivated and inspired when things don’t go as planned?

As an entrepreneur, I know firsthand that things don't always go as planned. There are always unexpected challenges and setbacks that can test your resolve and make it difficult to stay motivated and inspired

But for me, staying motivated and inspired is all about having a clear sense of purpose and a deep commitment to my mission. At GoMillion HCG, our mission is to help businesses build and develop highperforming teams that are equipped to achieve their full potential That mission is what gets me up every morning, even on the toughest days.

When things don't go as planned, I remind myself of why I started this business in the first place. I think about the impact that our work is having on businesses and their employees, and I use that as fuel to keep going I also rely on the support and encouragement of my team, who share my passion and commitment to our mission.

I know that there will be more challenges and setbacks ahead. But with a clear sense of purpose, a deep commitment to our mission, and a resilient and flexible mindset, I'm confident that we can overcome any obstacle and achieve our goals

Juggling It All INSIDER

If you are like me and you wear many hats, sta productive and staying organized is a non-nego

Here are three tips that help keep me on my toes that I wanted to share with you. I hope they also help give you a leg up in getting more organized and save you more time!

article
www.BuildingHerDream.com 42

Tip #1 Plan out your day or week ahead of time.

I, personally, like to plan each day the night before so that I can use my time wisely when I wake up the next morning. My toddlers require a routine to function and deviating from that can sometimes mean tantrums and meltdowns later and trust we do not have time for that!

I love using digital sticky notes and a “To-do” list such as Google Keep & Google Task List to record my one time tasks that I need to complete Writing these tasks down in the order I would like to complete them helps me to not forget what needs to be done. I can only hold so much in my brain and I hate forgetting the little but important tasks It feels really good to cross things off my list at the end of each day and it makes me feel accomplished and ready to tackle the next day head on!

Tip #2 Use a planner and/or calendar.

My Google calendar is my life line, when it comes to organization anyway. Haha! I always say, if it's not on the calendar, it’s not happening! My calendar affords me the opportunity to note down events and meetings that are happening for each of my family members and clients It keeps me on track with email and notification

reminders so that I get a preview into my day, week and month. My calendar allows me to optimize my time and divide it accordingly so that I get to do more! Keeping my client’s calendar organized is a service that I offer because I love to see other women and mompreneurs also win and not feel overwhelmed when life is life-ing!

Tip #3 Keep everyone involved. This could look differently for many people For me, my husband is my backbone and support system. I do my best to include him on calendar invites for events especially for the kids such as doctor’s appointments and family fun events This lets him easily be involved and aware of what is going on with the family. We are a team and working together is the only way we can function. If I get roped into a business task or an emergency meeting, he can pick up the slack and take care of what needs to be done in that time slot and vice versa.

You can also add other people to your list such as grandparents, siblings, or close friends so that your support system is all “in the know”. I have learned through the years that over communication is best!

I hope that these tips have inspired you to get productive and get organized. If you are a woman-owned small business who needs help and don’t know where to start, shoot me an email! I am ready to support you!

Remember, the one thing that we can’t create more of is time So instead of trying to stretch an hour let's optimize it!

Until next time.

OVERCOMING THE FEAR OF NETWORKING INSIDER

For many extroverts, networking is a piece of cake. They strive at any social event. This is not the same with introverts because many of us tend to avoid social scenes when we can. We are quieter, introspective and sometimes shy, which can make it difficult for us to overcome the fear of networking. But the reality is, networking is not a natural skill. It is a skill that is acquired through practice.

As an introvert, you can develop networking skills without altering your personality. And once you learn how to better interact with other people, you will experience exponential growth professionally and personally. To learn how to network, you need a plan that is practical and one that you can rely on. Let’s explore some strategies that can help you overcome your fear of networking.

article
www.BuildingHerDream.com 44

Do Your Research

You don’t need to go to every event you are invited to or hear about. It would be pointless to attend an event, stay right through the end, and then come out feeling as if the time was wasted. This is why you need to do some research before attending an event. Be selective and only attend events that interest you and provides you the opportunity to meet like-minded people. Your goal is to overcome the apprehension associated with networking. But you cannot succeed at this if you force yourself to go to events for which you have no interest.

Set Some Goals

Make a few goals you want to achieve at the event. Ask yourself why you want to attend. Are you going mainly to meet a particular person for professional or business reasons? Or are you attending an event because you are only interested in what is being discussed? When you have a goal in mind of what you want to achieve, you’ll have a higher chance of making solid connections.

article www.BuildingHerDream.com 45

Practice Starting Conversations

I am not the best conversation starter. I mainly wait for other people to talk to me first. But if you want to curb your fear of networking, you must learn how to approach others confidently. Think of ways you can start a conversation before you attend an event. Keep it simple and informal.

A good tip is asking an easy question like “How did you hear about this event?” It’s a great way to get people to open up. It will also give you the confidence to ask more questions that connect you and the person you are interacting with.

Avoid Being Late

Getting to an event early can give you a great advantage in that you can get to familiarize yourself with the surroundings. Talk to some of the early birds as well, as this can boost your confidence and help you feel comfortable. Arriving late to an event where everyone is already conversing can be unsettling. For an introvert, you may find it difficult to join in the conversation and are more likely to leave without even talking to a single person.

Take a Friend

Taking a work colleague or friend to an event can be reassuring. Think of the person as your back up. They are the ones who can help you get conversations going. However, taking a friend who is equally introverted as you are might not be helpful. You both may end up conversing with only each other which beats the purpose of attending an event with the aim of networking.

article www.BuildingHerDream.com 46

Be Yourself

Sometimes this is easier said than done, but don’t put too much pressure on yourself to fit in or to avoid looking awkward and misplaced. If you are not ready to have a conversation with anyone, leave and try another day. It is better than to end up having a conversation where you feel like you are saying the wrong things. If this happens, it can only intensify your reluctance for networking.

Try to Relax

When you are anxious, it’s easy for people to tell that you are because your body language will spill the beans. If you look aloof and uncomfortable, people will avoid you.

People are drawn to others who exhibit warmth and confidence. So even though you may be terrified inside, don’t let it show physically. Loosen up and put a smile on your face. Look approachable and you’ll be surprised when people walk over to talk to you.

Final Remarks

No one attains success without the help of others. Even an introvert needs human connection to survive and thrive. And this sometimes means placing yourself in uncomfortable situations or trying something you have never tried before to achieve your goals.

BUILDING HER DREAM LIFE

With Burena Morris

Burena Morris is the Founder and Chief Operations Officer of I Have a Dream Home. She lives in Port Richey, Florida and has been in business for 3 years.

At BHD, we believe in building our dream lives. What does your dream life look like?

Throughout life, I believe one’s dream life continues to evolve as we grow and attain knowledge. When I was younger, I used to dream of having my own business and once I became an entrepreneur my dream evolved into helping and serving people.

For instance, my current endeavor with I Have a Dream Home, I can’t wait for the day to

arrive when we help our first family attain homeownership. Knowing that I helped make someone’s else’s dream come true is the new dream I envision every day.

Tell us about the work you do.

As Chief Operations Officer, I facilitate and manage both operations and marketing activities. Specifically, managing day-to-day operations to ensure the entire organization runs efficiently, implementing and evaluating operation processes and procedures. Some of the marketing activities include the development of a marketing strategy and plan, development and maintenance of company websites, social media and

content creation, video and marketing ad creations.

You mentioned the “I Have a Dream Home” project. Tell us more about that and your Reg CF Crowdfunding Campaign.

We came up with the name I Have a Dream Home to turn Dr Martin Luther King’s I Have a Dream into a position affirmation. We are not just dreaming anymore; we are creating and manifesting ideas that will make the American Dream – Homeownership come true for millions of Americans. I Have a Dream Home is a social movement by the people and for the people A movement focused on solving real-world problems

in the financial and mortgage industries.

We are building a mortgage company designed to create generational wealth for our investors and folks living in urban America. According to a report issued by the Homeownership Council of America (HCA), the people we intend to serve are a multitrillion-dollar untapped marketplace and opportunity. Conservative estimates show that there are at least 10 million mortgage-ready people in the underserved communities of America

By successfully lending in these communities, lenders stand to conservatively increase their loan volume by at least $1 5 Trillion dollars This is the business we are after and the community we intend to serve. The path has been cleared by the big banks who are either shrinking or eliminating their mortgage empires for us to walk right in and take the bull by the horn.

generational wealth At our webinar you will receive debt insight and information on the American JOBS Act, angel investing and how to join our legacy movement What inspired you to get started?

My journey through entrepreneurship took me through several transformations I didn’t want to be an entrepreneur starting a business just to make profits, so I became a social entrepreneur. Meaning, my entrepreneurial endeavors and ideas are rooted in funding or implementing solutions for cultural, social, or environmental problems. So, when I was approached with this offer years ago, I immediately fell in love with the mission to help millions of mortgage-ready individuals and families attain homeownership. More importantly, I wanted to help create a more inclusive financial system It's truly outdated and must be redesigned for today’s society.

catered to social media platforms. Currently, we are listed on most of the platforms, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, and Linktree You must develop and implement processes that simplify tasks for yourself and your employees. For instance, to get our message out on all platforms we use Hootsuite which allows us to post to all channels at the same time, multiple times during the day, week, or month.

To build our community of supporters, we conduct a weekly webinar that explains our mission giving people a chance to learn more about angel investing, building wealth and how the American JOBs Act passed by President Obama in 2012 has opened new doors for everyone to become investors.

You’ve been in business for 3 years. What have you learned throughout your entrepreneurial journey?

To get more information on our mission, we invite readers to visit our website www.ihaveadreamhome.gold and come to our weekly webinar to learn how you can position yourself and your family to build

Given our fast-paced technological world, many of the marketing strategies we use are

Every day I am learning! So far, I have learned when it comes to business I am Superwoman! I learned that I love business and it is truly second nature for me; when I am working, I don’t feel pressured or sad. I am happy and often completely lose track of

time because I am on an adventure not just creating, developing or completing a task

For my business, I learned that the race is not given to the swift but to those who endure to the end In other words, it takes time to create, develop and run a successful business. You have to be willing to work in the trenches long and hard if you want to see that business grow.

Self-care is important. How often do you take a vacation away from your business?

I normally don’t take a vacation, however, recently I gained more understanding of the importance of taking time off. In fact, I will be going on vacation in a few days and plan to use this time wisely. I have learned that when you take care of yourself, you are more equipped and motivated to help your business and others.

What advice would you give to other introverted women who are just starting their own businesses?

Find a good support system. It may be only one or two people, but make sure they are willing to help you become more outspoken when needed. Take time to research how to use being an introvert to your advantage And keep in mind that in today's technological world, you can get your message out without being in the spotlight. You can market your business and stay in the background but be willing to go into the spotlight when needed

RELAXATION IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR DAILY SCHEDULE

As a business owner, you live and breath your business. Sometimes it may feel like you are working 24/7. You appear to be busy and effective working all of the time without rest, however, you will eventually experience burnout and constant tiredness. And you won’t be as productive as you would be if you better scheduled your time to include plenty of relaxation.

Health 1

If you’re not healthy, you won’t be able to focus. Focusing is an important part of getting your work done accurately Staying healthy will enable you to have the energy required to think clearly, get work done, and be productive.

Everyone needs intentional exercise as well as relaxation If you’re constantly going all day long without a break, you’re going to burn out. However, if you schedule in things to take care of yourself during the day, it’s going to make a huge difference

Try scheduling regular self-care opportunities such as eating good meals, getting a massage, going for a walk, and reading books for leisure It’s okay to go to a museum during the workday It’s not as crowded as it is on weekends and can get your creative juices flowing while also giving you important exercise.

Productivity 2

Getting enough sleep, taking time to be bored and having an active imagination is going to help you become more productive

For example, let’s say that at 2:00 pm today you want to go to the museum to walk around with your spouse and go out for an early dinner at that new vegan café nearby When you look at your schedule, you know what must be done before you can go. This will help you focus more and get things done.

Having a time limit for each activity you do can also help You cannot go to the museum for an unlimited time. You may choose to go from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, at which time you’re coming back to work for a couple of hours

That break during the day is going to help you become even more productive and creative because it’s going to be something to look forward to.

Life Satisfaction 3

Everyone needs to ensure that all aspects of their life needs are met. You need work (money), love (family, friends, pets), and emotional and spiritual needs to be met.

If you’re not working towards a well-rounded life to include these different aspects, it’s going to be hard to have true satisfaction in life. However, if you make a point to schedule into your workday plenty of rest – however you define that – your life is going to be even better.

If you’re not happy, healthy and ready to get going each day, then it will be hard to be productive. You will not feel like working. You’re going to put off being productive and procrastinate more because you’ve not scheduled things to look forward to in your day.

Make relaxation a priority for your workday routine and you’ll soon discover a big secret that many wealthy business owners use to get ahead.

THE POWER OF TWO: WHY YOU NEED A BUSINESS BESTIE

Being an entrepreneur can be a lonely and challenging journey, but having a business bestie can make all the difference. A business bestie is someone who understands the ins and outs of running a business, someone you can turn to for advice and support, and someone who shares your passion for entrepreneurship.

They're the person you can call when things get tough and they'll be there for you without hesitation. They’ve gone through similar struggles as an entrepreneur and understand what it takes to succeed.

Benefits of a Business Bestie Accountability

One of the most significant benefits of having a business bestie is accountability. When you have someone who is invested in your success, you are more likely to stay on track with your goals and commitments. They can help keep you accountable by checking in on your progress, offering encouragement, and holding you to your promises.

Support

Running a business can be emotionally taxing, and having a supportive friend who understands what you're going through can be invaluable. Your business bestie can be a sounding board for your ideas, a source of inspiration during tough times, and a cheerleader when you achieve success.

Brainstorming

Two heads are often better than one, and it’s great having someone to bounce ideas off of. Brainstorming with them can help you see things from a different perspective, come up with fresh ideas, and solve problems more efficiently.

Learning

No matter how experienced you are as an entrepreneur, there is always something new to learn. Having a business bestie means you have access to their knowledge experience and expertise

article www.BuildingHerDream.com 57

Both parties should be willing to offer their skills, knowledge, and experience to support each other. For example, if one person has expertise in marketing, they can offer advice and guidance to the other on how to improve their marketing strategies. Similarly, if the other person has connections in the industry, they can help introduce their business bestie to potential clients or partners.

In a mutually beneficial relationship, both parties should also be willing to be vulnerable and share their challenges and struggles. Being able to open up and ask for help can strengthen the relationship and make it easier to work together to overcome obstacles.

Ultimately, having a business bestie should be a win-win situation for both parties. Both should feel that they are benefiting from the relationship.

Finding Your Business Bestie

Finding a business bestie can be a game-changer for any entrepreneur, but it can be challenging to know where to start. Here are some tips for finding your perfect business bestie:

Attend industry-specific networking events to meet other entrepreneurs in your field. Look for events where you can have meaningful conversations and build relationships with other attendees.

Join entrepreneurial groups in your community or online. Facebook, LinkedIn, and Meetup are great places to start looking for groups that cater to your industry or interests.

Attend conferences and workshops related to your business to meet other entrepreneurs who are passionate about the same things as you.

Ask your existing business connections if they can introduce you to like-minded people. Referrals can be a great way to find someone who shares your values and goals.

Use social media platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram to connect with other entrepreneurs. Follow people in your industry and engage with their content to start building relationships.

article www.BuildingHerDream.com 59

Having a business bestie can be a valuable asset for any entrepreneur. They can provide accountability, support, brainstorming, networking, and learning opportunities that can help you succeed in your business. If you don't have someone yet, consider reaching out to other entrepreneurs in your network or joining a business group to meet like-minded individuals.

Remember, building a relationship with someone takes time and effort. It's essential to be patient and genuine in your interactions, and don't be afraid to reach out and ask for help or advice. Building a strong support system can make all the difference in your entrepreneurial journey, so take the time to find your perfect business bestie.

INSIDER

THE YEAR SILENCE VISITED ME

We were singers, the Phea Girls. From the books of the Bible to some of the most popular gospel choir songs of our time, we sang. The pastor of the first congregation I was active in said "only boys could play drums," so I taught myself to play, became a church drummer for a new church, then equipped others to take my place after I turned 18.

article
www.BuildingHerDream.com 61

Standing down on the floor right beneath the pulpit podium because women weren’t allowed “up there,” I preached my first sermon, “Because He Lives, So Shall I,” as a teenager.

To help pay for college course books, I became a worship leader, having absolutely no idea what that role entailed. But there I was, front and center, so I figured it out to be awarded that college stipend. Being a worship leader evolved into singing in a gospel group that traveled the country, singing and recording with music artists, leading a worship team, and pastoring the music and arts department of the biggest Black charismatic church in my hometown at that time.

Not long after graduating from Beacon University with my degree in Biblical Studies to become a better orator of Christian teachings, I landed in China to do mission work. I was in China for two years, living on a university campus, teaching freshmen college students Conversational English. While teaching, I also led seven college students on a two-year Bible study in my campus apartment. During my time in China, I advocated for the presence of female voices leading from the pulpit of the Three-Self church for what was called Power Hour. The western men I served with did all the “preaching” while the women were encouraged to volunteer for everything else making that effort work. My goal was not to, again, be out front but for our female students to see feminine representation in the pulpit we were encouraging them to listen to. However, the advocacy landed me in the China pulpit and thereafter, other western women.

After my two-year international contract was fulfilled, I found myself back in the States, bent on diversifying my circle, so I moved into an apartment complex conducive to meeting neighbors. I walked across the street to hang out with and learn about the people connected to the Jewish Synagogue. I met and hung out with Korean college students who taught me how to make kimbap, and connected with young Muslim people who invited me to experience their Eid holiday. Observing Muslim women and their children, as they prayed in their designated place was an absolute gift and just another opportunity to grow and diversify my community In continuing to expand my circle, I turned to the outdoors by becoming a cyclist, a triathlete, and a hiker, even initiating and facilitating outdoor experiences for my communities’ Black women.

Then came a disruption Quarantine.

2020, the year silence visited me.

I live 882 miles from my hometown where my family resides, making for a very quiet quarantine at my home here in Georgia. 2020 introduced me to who I really am, an introvert. Yes. ME. Behind the aforementioned experience shared, hid an introvert. Go figure! But I could not have arrived at such a resolve without investigating the reason I never knew it. I was raised and reared to be in front, to lead. It’s what I knew most, engaging an audience, big or small, until, one day, silence knocked on my door and made its acquaintance.

article
www.BuildingHerDream.com 62

Because I was immediately comfortable with the isolation of quarantine, it was so clear that this was who I had always been, an introvert, never having the chance to be it. I thought I had to always have something to say, an opinion to share, and a conversation to lead But the year 2020 introduced me to another side of myself and with open arms, I welcomed the opportunity to disengage from as much external engagement as was allowable I felt more empowered accepting myself as an introvert than I ever have in any role I’ve played prior to such a discovery. As an introvert, one of the most empowering discoveries is the expansion of time to observe that which is external while also turning inward. After said discovery, I found that as much as being observant is a gift, it intimidates those who do not possess the same skill but I am, nonetheless, empowered. Another aspect of introversion I discovered is the revelation of wisdom. There is something about turning inward and staying for a while that, at the perfect time, produces some kind of foresight. This experience is the reason I lean into opportunities of silence. I want to hear and see that which is beyond life’s surface

I shared, at the top of this article, all of what made me show up in the world as an extrovert, being a church girl encouraged to take the stage. The kind of church I grew up in is known for offering themes for the New Year, i.e., the most common, “The Year of Manifestation ” This year, as an interruption to the holiday busyness, my encouraging New Year social media post read, “Be still. This year’s wisdom just may be birthed out of today’s silence ” Introversion is 3 years old in my life and it will only be maturing from this moment on.

Chandrika D. Phea, an ordained reverend, is an outdoor enthusiast, a Georgia Public School Instructional Assistant by profession, and a partner with W Brand Publishing for the release of her debut, bestselling, award winning (two-time Next Generation Indie Book Award Finalist, Writer’s Digest Honorable Mention) book, "Lord, I Don't Want to Die a Christian " In 2005, she graduated from Beacon University with a Bachelor's of Arts in Biblical Studies then went on to complete a two-year teaching and mission assignment in China that ultimately revolutionized her life. For fun, Chandrika initiates local outdoor events (e.g. Bikes, Breakfast & Black Girls) providing her community's Black women safe and trustworthy outdoor experiences. She offers of herself, “Water, contained, creates resistance. I am, 60% of it.”

BUILDING HER DREAM LIFE

With Andi Byers

Tell us about what you do.

I am the Founder and CEO of Chronic & Iconic Coaching and ICONIC Business Solutions. I am a Registered Nurse, Holistic Nutritionist, Master Trainer, Chronic Illness Coach, and Air Force veteran with over 22 years of records management, project management, and continuous process improvement (CPI) experience.

As a medical professional, I realized that there were a lot of women patients navigating the waters of diagnosis blind. What they needed was someone to help them understand what was happening in a way that they could digest

It was then that I decided to be the person I needed, for them. I began to help women navigate diagnosis while implementing holistic practices to improve their quality of life with a focus on mindset, stress management, holistic nutrition, and movement.

While on active duty I coordinated multiple processes and was responsible for the maintenance and structure of the AF records life cycle, ensuring a high level of performance and making improvements to existing processes.

Serving as a Process Improvement Manager, I was responsible for maintaining efficiency in the workers and

overall quality in the workplace with a sole focus on overseeing existing business practices and improving them to boost productivity, improve customer satisfaction, reduce operation costs, and maximize company resources.

I now use those skills to help small businesses advance strategic growth and manage business processes with ease without stress, overwhelm, or burnout

Wow, your background is impressive! What inspired you to pursue entrepreneurship?

My inspiration was fueled by my desire to be the change I am passionate about holistic wellness and addressing the root cause to better manage the symptoms. I knew early on that I wanted to be the person I needed along the way for the people that needed me. As medical professionals, we help people. We are trained to treat the symptom. Treating the symptom for me meant years of being overmedicated I needed to get to the root cause

determined to make sure no other woman had to experience those heavy emotions alone while navigating chronic illness

My business then expanded to include process improvement and other business solutions, helping women entrepreneurs with chronic illnesses manage their businesses with ease through helping them create efficient and easy-to-maintain processes that help advance strategic growth.

How has being an introvert affected your business?

I think being an introvert is my superpower! It allows me to remain in alignment with my vision One of the strengths of my introverted personality is the ability to focus on the details. Strategic growth is in the details. One of my favorite scriptures and my daily reminder to thrive daily is “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”

Habakkuk 2:2

Along the way, I realized that everything has timing and happens for a reason I divorced “perfection” and married “impactful”. Things won’t always go as planned and they are not always supposed to. Sometimes the most impactful moments are off the beaten path

Do you think it's possible to maintain a healthy work-life balance as an entrepreneur? If so, how do you do it?

Absolutely! Making time for you is a non-negotiable. I had to learn this lesson the hard way. We often say that we are too busy to pause but we honestly are not. There are 1,440 minutes in the day; we are not too busy to give ourselves fifteen of those minutes.

I’ve navigated some rocky health situations in what seemed to be a continuous circle of medical gaslighting, chronically ill, feeling isolated, scared, broken, and defeated. I became

How do you stay motivated and inspired when things don’t go as planned?

It can be difficult to not get frustrated when things don’t go as planned I can remember getting worked up often.

The thing is, most likely we wake up already pouring into others We wake up and grab our phones and scroll, get households ready, etc. We begin the cycle of waking up to show up for others first. I didn’t always have a healthy work-life balance I didn’t enforce boundaries, I didn’t say no to things, and I didn’t prioritize my health or sleep.

My wake-up call was a sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 40

INTERVIEW WITH ANDI BYERS www.BuildingHerDream.com 65

It was a culmination of years of “I’m fine, I’ll take care of it” and showing up for others first My cup was empty and I was physically and emotionally depleted. I am grateful for God’s grace and that he saw fit for me to live this life again Death gives you a deeper perspective I realized that I was never too busy to give myself fifteen minutes. I realized that my busy and overwhelm was self-inflicted and that boundaries were necessary for me to truly thrive

Now, I pause. I pause to take in the beauty and the joy around me in my stressful moments. I pause to appreciate the life around me when I’m feeling overwhelmed I pause to practice gratitude for all of the things that I’ve accomplished in the moments that I may feel like I’ve missed the mark

I give myself the time because it’s a non-negotiable! The time keeps me grounded, it brings me peace and it keeps me balanced so that I can be the most complete version of me when I show up for others

special person to be an entrepreneur We don’t often show the long nights, the high stress or the tears but it’s there. My biggest lesson learned in my business journey is that the vision is not for everyone to understand.

Early on in my business, I wanted everyone to support me and my feelings would be hurt if they didn’t, regardless of if they ever knew that. I would retreat because I was allowing their “you can’t make that happen” my truth. The truth was I could make it happen and I WAS making it happen.

People won’t always support you, they won’t always cheer you on, and that is ok. The right people at the right time will be aligned with you. The vision isn’t for everyone. It is for you. Protect it and nurture it You are birthing your dream

What advice would you give to other introverted women who are just starting their own businesses?

A challenge that I have faced while being an entrepreneur and how I solved it is when I needed to believe so much in myself and my dreams for me to find my voice

INTERVIEW WITH RIAHANNON LEGOFF www.BuildingHerDream.com 71

WHAT IS YOUR SUPERPOWER?

“He asked a lot of questions I didn’t want to answer them but felt like I had to. And you just didn’t answer. You were just quiet. I need to be more like you,” she told me.

“Yeah,” I laughed, “that is definitely one of my strong suits.”

It was affirming to receive this feedback, being told it was aspirational when I was quiet in a situation where I genuinely didn’t have anything to say I had spent the better part of the year on a personal and collective mission to reclaim quiet, so having this reflected back to me was a real win.

Being told I’m quiet has been a source of confusion and frustration in the past. It was this reaction that inspired me to turn toward it. I had heard the common teaching ‘the problem is the solution’ and I realized that there was a real opportunity for me if I could incorporate that understanding into the idea of quiet.

Bringing curiosity to what it means to be quiet was hugely beneficial and uplifting. As usual, what others say about me has little to do with me and more to do with them We are each other’s mirrors When someone introduces me as “she’s quiet, but has a wealth of knowledge,” I can choose if I interpret it as an insult, a compliment, or merely a comment. Different cultures, communities, families, and social groups will interpret quiet in many ways. In general, Western society tends to

uphold the ability to verbalize, articulate, and speak in public as traits that are of the utmost importance and necessary skills to acquire in order to lead a successful and impactful life.

To be seen as smart and capable Yet, as Susan Cain reminds us in her book Quiet, there is no correlation between intelligence and loquaciousness. Understanding this provided a larger perspective with which to understand my own experiences.

I used to feel a need in social situations to fill every silence. This was a reflection of not being comfortable with silence, not being comfortable with myself, and not trusting my worthiness in the presence of other humans Yet silence is often where the magic happens. We all know what it’s like to be in a room with someone where there is no room for silence, for reflection, for new insights and understanding to emerge. Oftentimes in such a room, there is no real listening happening either, as one person tops the other with an endless stream of opinions and counterarguments.

It's a sign of growth for me to allow myself to rest in unknowing and spaciousness and to be quiet instead of feeling pressure to speak in order to prove myself or try to make myself or others feel more comfortable It’s a gift to be in each other’s presence and to know that that is enough. By coming into a more celebratory and deeper relationship with what it means to be quiet, I have come to appreciate myself and my authentic ways of expressing myself. I love writing, teaching, acting, and being of service to those around me

article
www.BuildingHerDream.com 72

Quiet allows me to be attuned to the present moment and the needs and circumstances of any situation. It is not a hindrance to my ability to express my gifts, it is a support. If I’m inspired to speak, I speak. If I’m inspired to listen, I listen. Creating spaciousness and growing my inner reservoir of understanding and acceptance actually gives me more confidence to show up and share my truth.

So, what is your superpower? It might feel like one of the things that are a problem, maybe something people reflect back to you as a dig or insult. But beyond the social conditioning of what it may mean to be called or told you’re something, consider going deeper. What are the implications of this trait? Are they actually a problem? Or are they a solution? What if this quality was understood and appreciated by yourself and those around you? What would be possible then?

BUILDING HER DREAM INTERVIEW

With Dr. Caroline Iscovitz

Dr. Caroline Iscovitz is a Female Entrepreneur Coach from Lakewood, Colorado. She’s been in business for 5 years.

What does your dream life look like?

Are you currently living in it?

I feel so incredibly privileged for the life I’m living while still working on having complete financial freedom. Definitely getting closer to it and enjoying the process of building it.

Tell me more about what you do and who you help.

I help people stay healthy from the inside out and now their environment. My health business focuses on keeping people healthy internally to externally.

Also, I’ve recently moved into the Solar industry as a coowner of a solar energy company. I get to help homeowners save money on their electricity while helping the planet be a bit cleaner!

www.BuildingHerDream.com 75

What inspired you to start this business?

I loved helping people improve their mindset and relationships when I was in the mental health field and eventually thought I would have my own private practice or wellness center. Then I started learning more about entrepreneurship and seeing what could be possible for me outside of the mental health field.

This became clear to me that I wanted a different life than I had originally planned after getting my doctorate degree and saw more opportunities presenting themselves The ability I could have to help people get & stay healthy in a more holistic approach was truly the impact I wanted to make while doing it on my own terms.

Do you think being an introvert has affected your business?

It’s allowed me to be able to observe & serve my customers with my ability to actively listen to their needs. This very skill set has allowed me to build such incredible connections, relationships, & business partnerships

How do you handle networking, pitching, and other activities that require you to be extroverted?

When I’m at a networking event, I go out of my comfort zone even though it might make me feel uneasy at first. I start with just one person that seems to have an inviting personality and then I’ll include another person until it turns into a group of people and we get into a flow of conversation about a certain topic, once I’m in the flow I’m more comfortable being the center of attention. Other activities for me are again just focusing on the oneto-one conversation, getting to know the person I’m talking to, how I can help them and/or who I connect them with.

INTERVIEW WITH DR. CAROLINE ISCOVITZ

Do you think it's possible to maintain a healthy work-life balance as an entrepreneur?

I believe in work-life harmony/ integration. I don’t think you can always have full balance in life. You are going to have different seasons & phases where your priorities need or have to change based on life circumstances. Give yourself compassion and grace through that. I am always checking in with myself and ensuring my cup is full. This looks like setting boundaries, communicating effectively within both business and personal relationships, and daily selfcare practices

In your opinion, what are the essential skills that introverted entrepreneurs should focus on developing?

The most important skills to develop are not holding back when you have an idea or something to say. Your opinions matter and you are adding value to the world & economy.

What advice would you give to other introverted women who are just starting their own businesses?

From my perspective, just start and learn from others along the way. You can do this by going outside of your comfort and start talking to people who can help and support you! Successful entrepreneurs that are where you want to be, contact them to build that relationship.
