Terminal Portuario de Manta, modernización y éxito En los últimos tres años el Terminal Portuario de Manta ha concretado logros importantes en materia portuaria y comercio exterior. Para el cierre del 2019 se batió un récord en movimiento de carga superando el millón de toneladas métricas atendidas, que sitúa al Puerto de Manta como uno de los terminales más destacados del país. Lo anterior no habría sido posible sin las inversiones desarrolladas en infraestructura y equipamiento, que actualmente superan los $45 millones de dólares, entre ellas: Rehabilitación de Muelles Internacionales, Dragado del Canal de Acceso y Atracaderos a -12.5 metros, Extensión de Muelle Internacional 2 a 300mts, reforzamiento de los sistemas de seguridad, etc. Sin duda, el hito más notable se dio en julio de 2019, pues luego de varias reuniones con CEIPA y la naviera CMA CGM, se retomó el tráfico de carga contenerizada, brindando al sector exportador manabita la posibilidad de conectar sus productos con el mundo.
Terminal Portuario de Manta, modernization and success In the past three years, Terminal Portuario de Manta has made important achievements in terms of port matters and foreign trade. By the end of 2019, a record in cargo movement was broken by exceeding one million metric tons, which places the Port of Manta as one of the most prominent terminals throughout the country. The above wouldn’t have been possible without the investments made in infrastructure and equipment, which currently exceed $45 million dollars, including the following: Reinforcement of International Docks, Dredging of the Access Channel and Berths at -12.5m, Extension of International Dock 2 to 300m, reinforcement of security systems, etc. Undoubtedly, the most important event occurred in July 2019. After several meetings between TPM, CEIPA and the shipping line CMA CGM, container cargo operations returned to the Port of Manta, allowing the export industry in Manabi Province to connect its products with international markets.
Gracias al compromiso de sus funcionarios, TPM ha sido reconocido con diversos premios, entre ellos: “Paris Design Awards”, que sitúa al Terminal de Cruceros como una joya arquitectónica, “Punto Verde” otorgado por el Ministerio del Ambiente por políticas de producción más limpia, “BASC” como Mejor Empresa del Sector Marítimo 2018-2019, y “Eukor” como Mejor Estibador Portuario a nivel mundial en 2019.
Thanks to a highly committed staff, TPM has been recognized with several awards, including: Paris Design Award, which places the Cruise Terminal as an architectural jewel, Punto Verde Award granted by the Ministry of Environment due to policies for cleaner production, Best Alliance For Secure Commerce Award as the Best Company in the Maritime Sector for 2018-2019, and Eukor Award as Best Port Stevedore of 2019 worldwide.
A pesar de las dificultades que enfrentamos debido a la pandemia, seguimos trabajando por el progreso de este Gran Puerto, para esta Gran Ciudad.
