Sin a lugar a dudas este ha sido un año para reinventarse. Todos los colegios y universidades del país se han tenido que ubicar en un escenario temporal de clases virtuales. Y a pesar que el Covid-19 ha cambiado la dinámica familiar y todos se han visto en la necesidad de alfabetizarse y utilizar la tecnología en el día a día, es nuestro deber como educadores aprovechar y sacar lo mejor de estas circunstancias. Lo cierto es que la continuidad de la educación es fundamental y que los niños se levanten a cierta hora, socialicen, se mantengan atentos y vean a diario a sus profesores da un cierto sentido de normalidad. Todos hemos tomado conciencia de lo maravilloso que es encontrarnos físicamente en la familia, con los amigos, en el trabajo, etc. Por esta razón, el objetivo principal de Nuevo Mundo este año, ha sido llevar nuestro dinamismo, energía, cercanía y metodología académica al nuevo espacio pedagógico: las casas. Gracias a que hoy tenemos más consciencia de las posibilidades y limitaciones del mundo en línea hemos logrado realizar varios eventos que “normalizan” esta nueva modalidad. De esta manera, hemos transformado la sala de la casa en el escenario para vivir en primera fila eventos como: Elecciones del Consejo Estudiantil, Día de la Lectura, Juramento a la Bandera, entre otras. La pasión de los profesores y las ganas de los alumnos de seguir aprendiendo no deja de sorprender. A pesar de que el futuro sigue siendo incierto, nuestros estudiantes son la razón principal para que día a día brindemos lo que siempre nos ha caracterizado: excelencia académica de prestigio internacional, ahora con una experiencia digital.
The bigger the challenge, the bigger the opportunity This has been a year to reinvent ourselves. All the country’s schools and universities have had to set themselves up in a temporary scenario of virtual classes. Although Covid-19 has changed the dynamic of many families; forcing us to learn and include technology in our daily life. It is our responsibility as teachers to take advantage of these new circumstances. The truth is that education is essential, and having children waking up at a certain time, building connections, being engaged in their classes, and having daily synchronous classes with their teachers brings a certain sense of stability. We are all aware of the wonder of being in contact with our families, friends, coworkers, etc. For this reason, our main goal at Nuevo Mundo this year has been to bring our dynamism, energy, and methodology to the new pedagogical scenarios: student’s own homes. Due to the fact that now we know more about the possibilities and limitations that the on-line community offers we have strived to normalize this situation by carrying out our usual events such as: Best Students Awards, Student Council Elections, Reading Day, Pledge of Allegiance, among others. Hence, we have brought learning experiences into student’s homes. Our highly motivated teachers and the desire of our students to learn never cease to amaze us. Even in these uncertain times, our students remain at the core of our mission: to achieve academic excellence with international standards.
