Transport Canberra’s bus network, now with a new electric bus fleet, connects you to all major routes within the city and offers a frequent and reliable service. Bus Route 3 connects you to the airport for the price of a standard single ticket. The Red Explorer Loop Bus offers a hop on hop off service, departing from the city and taking passengers to Canberra’s major attractions.

All major rental car companies have branches in Canberra and at Canberra Airport, allowing for easy pick-up and drop-off.

LIGHT RAIL Canberra’s light rail connects you from North Canberra to the CBD with a fast, frequent and comfortable journey along Northbourne Avenue. Construction of Stage 2 has commenced, initially extending to Commonwealth Park, and eventually connecting to South Canberra. TAXIS AND RIDESHARE Canberra is well serviced by taxis and other rideshare providers like Shebah, GoCatch, Ola, DiDi and Uber.

CAR SHARE If you’re a member of Popcar or Flexicar (offered by Hertz), you will be able to use car share in Canberra. E-SCOOTERS Beam Mobility and Neuron Mobility operate shared e-scooters in Canberra, offering another convenient option for short trips around the city. The devices are app-operated and available for use in central Canberra and Belconnen Town Centre. Walksmart offers longer term e-scooter rental for 4-24 hours. WALK OR BIKE The multiple pedestrian and bike paths paving the city make it a breeze to get active as you get around Canberra. All major hotels offer bike hire and the city is equipped with dockless bikeshare through Airbike.
