All about A Levels
If you’re academically-minded and usually perform well in exams, A Levels could be the right choice for you. They offer the opportunity to study a range of subjects and gain the academic knowledge and skills that are valued by universities and employers.
How will you learn?
Most students study a full-time programme of three A Levels over two years, although it may be possible to study four. You will be taught at our College Green Centre by expert tutors, and where applicable, have access to our specialist facilities to complete practical work.
How will you be assessed?
A Levels are mainly assessed by external exams at the end of the two years, with mock exams held at the end of your first year. Some subjects may be partially assessed through coursework.
Entry requirements
A Levels are Level 3 qualifications, and for entry onto the courses you will need six GCSEs grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent, including 4 (C) or higher in English Language and Maths. Some subjects will also have additional entry requirements.
Where next?
Once you’ve completed your A Levels, you may choose to go to university, or enrol onto a higher education course at our University Centre. You could also progress onto a higher-level apprenticeship, or use the academic knowledge and skills you’ve gained to go into employment.
