What’s Happening in Parks & Rec!
We’re springing ahead into all sorts of fun at O’Fallon Parks & Recreation! The Renaud Center’s annual Underwater Egg Hunt is sure to be an egg-citing time for kids of all ages! Our juniors can splash around while searching for eggs and earning prizes –all in our heated indoor pool. Spaces for this signature event fill quicky, so be sure to register your kiddos soon!
O’FallonTheaterWorks is back with their spring production of Be More Chill. A universal, sci-fi story about the competing voices in all our heads, this “fantastically funny” musical centers around a guy, a girl, and the supercomputer inside his head that wants to take over the world. (It’s fine, really.) Make plans to join us in late April to catch the show! (Recommended to ages 14+).
Last year we introduced a new event that was a doggone great time! Whiskers & Wags Pet Expo & Adoption Event on May 6th is a celebration for pets and the humans who love them. If you’re in the market to add a furry friend to your family, this is a great opportunity to meet with local shelters and learn more about the pets they have available for adoption. Could you be their forever home?!
Don’t sweat, this event is also great for those who already have four-legged besties. New this year, our Doggy Bone Hunt will coincide with the expo and is the perfect activity for your furry friend to enjoy. Pet-focused vendors will be set up to showcase their products and services, O’Fallon PD will have their K9 unit out doing demonstrations, and of course we’ll have a handful of free activities for all to enjoy, including the K9 agility demonstrations!
Of course, O’Fallon’s Jammin’ Concert Series returns on Tuesday, May 30th at Civic Park. Free admission, beautiful hillside seating, food trucks and live music – what more could you ask for?! Each week features a different musical act and food truck lineup, so be sure to mark your calendars to enjoy them all!
There’s so much to look forward to: Summer Day Camp registration, Pickleball lessons, and Torpedoes Swim team registration! Be sure to check out all the fun programs listed in the Rec Guide and follow along on our Facebook and Instagram pages to stay in-the-know on all the fun things we have going on this Spring!

Upcoming Art Exhibitions
Kristen Tordella-Williams
At the O’Fallon City Hall Gallery
May – August
Kristen’s interests lie in the layers of the impressions left by our bodies on the environment around us and the reciprocal impressions our bodies hold from the wear and tear of living. She gathers and re-interprets the remnants of labor, identity, gender, and memory, discovered or made. Kristen is inspired by processes such as performance, papermaking, sculpture or printmaking as well as materials commonly found in hardware stores, supermarkets and recycling bins.
Dolores Jensen
At the Krekel Civic Center Gallery
May – August
I have been creating art for as long as I can remember. I remember asking for yet another doll for Christmas when I was about 10 and my parents bought me a set of oil paints instead. I also loved copying the cartoons in the Sunday paper each week, trying to draw them as accurately as possible. I always had a sketch pad going. After graduation from St. Dominic High School in O’Fallon, Missouri, I attended Florissant Valley Community College.
Beth Mayfield-House
At the Renaud Center Gallery
May – August
Art is a lens through which I examine my physical world and my inner reality. It allows me to digest my memories and explore concepts of beauty, love, and pain that circulate through my life. I view my process as holding a magnifying glass up to my subject. Though I don’t find many answers through my paintings, my work is really about the search, the journey, and my ever-shifting perspective of reality; with the pursuit of making something beautiful.
