REAL
Let’s Get
People who want to buy or sell a house need a REALTOR®. Real estate agents who want to connect, elevate, and inspire others within the community need Corpus Christi Real Producers’ publications, events, and social media platforms. And for Corpus Christi Real Producers to do what we are doing, we need Preferred Partners. The support of our amazing Preferred Partners allows us to produce high-quality monthly publications, both printed and digital, that are provided at no charge to REALTORS®. Their support allows us to share the inspiring stories of real estate agents and brokers and Preferred Partners. Without them, we would be unable to make the impact we are making in our own community and even around the world through our online presence and financial contributions. Their sponsorship helps us host educational events and monthly gatherings in which members of the real estate community come together in person to celebrate each other’s victories. Preferred Partners also help host big annual events like the 2021 CCRP Awards Gala. Our Preferred Partners are the backbone of Corpus Christi Real Producers. They have each been recommended specifically by members of the real estate community because they provide quality services and operate according to ethics and high standards of excellence. No one can buy their way into our publication; they become a Preferred Partner only after being vetted and approved. They remain in good standing as they serve our community faithfully. Our goal is to create a powerhouse network that connects and celebrates the best REALTORS® and affiliates in the Coastal Bend, so we can grow stronger together.
You can easily search through, and share, Preferred Partner listings by category within the first few pages of each publication and enjoy their colorful and informative ads found throughout each monthly issue. We also feature one or more stories about a Preferred Partner in our monthly publication and share their services and specials routinely on social media. Preferred Partners are encouraged to attend our monthly “issue reveal” events so that REALTORS®, brokers, and other Preferred Partners can build meaningful relationships. When you use one of our Preferred Partners, you’re not only supporting that business, but you’re also supporting mine. Real Producers is 100% funded by our Preferred Partners. So every loan, every inspection, every roof you are able to refer out brings value to our partners, helping them grow, and solidifying their loyalty to not only you but also to the Real Producers platform. Did you know a portion of every Preferred Partner’s advertising dollars goes towards fighting human trafficking? The magazine and everything we do to celebrate those impacting our community would not exist without our Preferred Partners. Please join me in expressing gratitude not only through our words but by utilizing their services, referring others to them, liking and sharing their information on social media, and leaving them great online reviews! Thank you! Amanda Carmichael Owner and Publisher Corpus Christi Real Producers Magazine

Matthew and Angela Lynch, owners of Blue Star Real Estate Inspection Services, work toward the same goal as REALTORS®: helping each client find a home that is safe, affordable, and the best fit for their needs. The Lynches molded their business to cater to clients and agents by providing online and mobile scheduling, extending office hours, working weekends in the busy season, and helping loyal agents who need an inspection in a pinch. Blue Star’s software allows online scheduling, assessment of availability, referencing of past inspections, and the creation of a repair list directly from the inspection report! These tools help agents serve their clients efficiently and completely, turning them into a one-stop shop. ancillary services to the families and REALTORS® they serve, and they do so by following their mission, vision, and values as a family-owned company. Matt, a native of Odem, is no stranger to hard work and discipline. He was recruited out of high school to play baseball for the Texas A&M Kingsville Javelinas. During the summers, he worked at local refiners to save money for tuition and college living expenses. He left college after three years, realizing he was making more money at the refinery than some people who had a four-year degree. After spending several years successfully climbing the ranks, Matt reached a plateau and discovered he could not advance without returning to college. He continued working full time while earning a degree in Industrial Engineering with a minor in Business Administration from Texas A&M Kingsville. After graduating, Matt worked for a prestigious engineering firm for several years, but office life was not a good fit for him. Matt decided to invest in renovating rental properties in his spare time, but he was frustrated to find the inspection reports failed to fully inform buyers of basic deficiencies. With his extensive background in construction, Matt knew he could do a better job, and he could live out his dream of entrepreneurship. In 2017, he enrolled in the required classes and obtained his license; he and Angela created Blue Star Real Estate Inspection Services in January 2018. Leaving a stable income with benefits was hard, and Matt was thankful to work for his brother’s trucking company while he and Angela grew their customer base for Blue Star. Angela had the misfortune of losing her younger sister in a car accident, which taught her the biggest life realproducersmag.com
lessons: never take people for granted, treat others with love, and always give your best because tomorrow is not guaranteed. Utilizing what she learned as a receptionist, secretary, and paralegal for high-profile law offices, Angela is the ever-cheerful voice behind the phone. Her past experiences prepared her to create and manage an efficient and welcoming office environment. Matt is proud of how she oversees the operations and growth of Blue Star and says she is what makes him successful by believing in him and helping make their dreams a reality. The couple’s strengths fill in any gaps in the other’s weaknesses, and they provide clients and REALTORS® with a seamless experience. Blue Star Real Estate Inspection Services has expanded, adding two additional inspectors. They are in the process of hiring a marketing person and are excited to sign a lease in an office building. For the Lynches,
home inspections are a business and a profession, not just a job. They have over 100 positive Google reviews and thrive on feedback because they are always looking for ways to improve. They do things with purpose, utilizing their mission and vision statements when making decisions. “We are purposeful about keeping ourselves and our staff up-to-date on any changes in regulations or procedures related to home inspection,” Angela shared, “because you don’t know what you don’t know. We are constantly learning and surrounding ourselves with like-minded people. We belong to the coaching group Inspector Empire Builders. This network of top home inspectors in the country continues to raise the bar in this industry and helps us stay current and elevate our business.”
Corpus Christi Real Producers • 15
Matt continued, “At Blue Star, we take the extra time to give our clients and agents the attention they need. We know first-time homebuyers are nervous, so we like to prepare them and their REALTORS® to be fully informed and confidently aware of the condition of the home. I’ve always found it rewarding to be able to teach people. I want agents to know that cheaper does not mean better, and a shorter report does not mean an easier transaction. We do not ever want anyone to feel like we are impeding or sabotaging their deal; we know that the best REALTORS® want their clients to have the most accurate reports.” As business owners, it would be easy for the Lynches to get caught up in work 24/7, but instead, they utilize their ability to control their schedule so they can have plenty of family time. All four of their children enjoy a variety of sports, and Matt and Angela juggle schedules, practices, and games so they can cultivate their children’s interests. Matt enjoys coaching his son’s Little League team and supporting local high school athletics.
The Lynch family is intentional about being involved in the community. One of their biggest goals is showing their children a love for God, being a living example of how rewarding it is to have a servant’s heart. Angela is a member of several CCAR committees and focuses on events that educate home buyers and improve policies for homeowners and REALTORS®. She is honored to give back to the industry that supports their family. Matt, the quiet but brilliant introvert, and Angela, the big-hearted people-person, work in unison to serve their community. They currently provide residential inspection services, wood-destroying insect/termite inspections, sewer scope camera inspections, visual pool inspections, and septic inspections. They can easily set up hydrostatic drain leak tests with a local, trusted, preferred partner plumbing company. They look forward to adding more services for REALTORS® and clients in Corpus Christi and seven surrounding counties. Blue Star Real Estate Inspection Services is making an impact on lives by providing professional, knowledgeable, honest, and reliable services, giving REALTORS® and their clients peace of mind as they make the right choices for their families’ future. Matt and Angela’s business journey has just begun! blue-starinspections.com

Starla Harris Joslin, master stylist and owner of The Crown Jewel, is passionate about helping our community look better and become better. As a talented and outgoing second-generation hairstylist with 20 years of experience, Starla has worked hard to build a business that provides high-quality services to the Coastal Bend and provides growth opportunities for diligent and talented stylists and color specialists all while serving her own clients and family full-time. After overcoming her own addictions to
18 • May 2022
substances and toxic people, she now invests her time and talent into sharing hope and helping others adjust their “crowns.” Starla said she always admired her mother Sheila’s talents, especially with hair, and her resourcefulness, and looked up to her mom as a role model for hard work and femininity. Starla learned a lot from Sheila’s commitment to always believe in her children and her faithfulness as a wife for 49 years. Starla remembers her mom always had little side businesses to make extra money and gladly gave her
time to those who were less fortunate. Sheila’s great knowledge of the Bible, and her spirituality, always had a big impact on Starla, who came to faith in Jesus Christ at age 6. Sheila’s constant prayers intervened when Starla was living as a prodigal child as a young adult. After Starla renewed her childhood commitment to God, she enrolled in an accountability program. While she was learning to live a life of victory and freedom, a generous sponsor offered to pay for cosmetology training if she stayed clean. Starla recognized God’s grace working in her life, and she started working as hard for her recovery as she had worked for her addiction. She invested in herself and her future, and after graduation, she started her first job. A trainer who had worked with some well-known clients in Beverly Hills recognized Starla’s skill, passion, and heart and began mentoring her to become a customer-focused business owner. @realproducers
When Starla moved to Corpus Christi, life was hard. She was grateful for government assistance and plasma donation, which helped her stay afloat while she built up a solid reputation and client base. She worked 11-hour days and took care of her growing boys, praying for God to bless her with opportunities to share hope and invest her time and herself into other young women who needed to change their lives.

with a godly husband and also gift her with a baby girl. She and Raul met at Cole Park in June and were married the next fall. They are thankful for their sons: Hayden, 19, loves to travel and enjoys art; Kamden, 16, plays soccer at Ray High School; Anakin, 16, has started his first job at Whataburger; Kaleb, 14, is a young entrepreneur; Xander, 8, plays football with the Corpus Christi Youth Football League. Two years ago, God answered Starla’s prayers prayer through a daughter they named Izabella.
In 2011, Starla had a deep desire to create a safe and structured place for women who needed chemical, spiritual, mental, emotional, and relational recovery, like she had needed. Two years after hosting her first faith-based recovery meeting and after lots of fundraising, she helped Broken Chains Recovery Center open their first faith-based women’s recovery home in Corpus Christi.
Working hard to make her prayers and dreams a reality, Starla opened her own salon in March 2020. She provided a wonderful environment full of talented professionals and personally booked and served clients herself, full time. She willingly mentored the women, in life and business, and has seen them change their life paths and improve their cosmetology skills. Her growing customer base and expanded service options necessitated relocation to a space with triple the amount of square footage just 14 months later.
In 2017, Starla went on her last first date. She had prayed for years that God would pair her

providing an amazing variety of services such as haircuts, coloring including balayage, styling, Brazilian Blowouts, hair restoration for clients experiencing thinning or balding, extensions (using Hotheads exclusively), make-up artistry by an esthetician, a full wedding team (on location or at the salon), skincare, facials, waxing, needle-less lip fillers, biofeedback therapy. Starla encourages everyone to have a consultation before booking and to book in advance. Starla’s story inspires hope; she has also helped countless women have a fresh start in life as well, through the women’s recovery home and Corpus Christi Real Producers • 19
by offering both booth rental and mentorship at The Crown Jewel. In addition, Starla and members of the Jeep® Club rally together to feed families and host fundraisers for cancer patients. Starla also provides haircuts twice a month for those in need through a public service outreach of Church Unlimited, Westside, and serves as a sixth-grade girls’ life group leader every Sunday. She is beyond grateful for all of the Corpus Christi Real Producers and Preferred Partners who helped her mom find, fund, and complete the
purchase of a house closer to Starla and then helped Sheila get moved in! Sheila has been staying busy with sewing projects for Izabella, the reigning Miss Oysterfest. Spending time with Starla and her family has helped fill a void in Sheila’s life since becoming a widow. Learning to take hair photos and incorporate new technology are two of the challenges that Starla is facing that are taking her out of her comfort zone and helping her grow. Raul’s recent birthday gift of a 360-degree photo booth adds some fun dimension
to her ability to share the results of her satisfied customers and also offers a fun way for her clients to make memories. thecrownjewelcc.com
“The legacy I want to leave is: No matter what life has thrown at me, I did not let it keep me down. I rose above and turned all my scars into stars,” said Starla. “God changed me and made me whole, and I asked Him to let me help others learn a new way of life, and independence, one day at a time! I love to empower girls and women to love themselves and always speak positivity over themselves, never settling because they are a daughter of the Most High!”

SELLING SOUTH TEXAS @realproducers
Coastal Bend native Brianna Tieperman is an inspirational entrepreneur, full of determination and a great work ethic. Although she has been breaking real estate records and gaining a large social media following, she is quick to give credit to all who have helped her grow into the woman she is today and reach for the goals she is setting for tomorrow. With a twinkle in her eye, Bri shared that there is no pause button for where she is heading; she just hits play and goes, pushing forward with style and selling South Texas. Bri started working at a Rockport boutique when she was 15. Owner Nancy saw potential in the young student. “She helped me blossom to who I am,” expressed Bri. “I attribute most of the people skills that I have today to working with her.” Nancy mentored Bri for the five years she worked there. After graduating from high school, Bri wasn’t sure what she wanted to do. Running the boutique’s social media helped Bri fall in love with the marketing side of business, so she started taking business and marketing classes at Texas A&M. Books and lectures didn’t motivate or inspire Bri, even though she had thought about being in the medical field. She loved to learn from life. Her mom, who had worked her way up from a bank teller to a management position without going to college, encouraged her to find a job that offered future advancement. Her father, an entrepreneurial chiropractor who opened his own office, encouraged her to find something she enjoyed doing. Her parents modeled how to want something and then achieve it. Her boyfriend, James, helped her see the light at the end of the tunnel and stay focused on what she wanted for her future. Bri accepted a job at the Portland Chamber of Commerce as a programs and events coordinator and learned a lot from her experience. She worked her way into marketing and then memberships and deepened her desire to connect with clients and help them accomplish their goals. She explored the world realproducersmag.com
of retail for two years, tried photography, and then started her own business marketing company, offering consulting and social media management. Although she became a more wellrounded person while exploring various employment options and experiences, she hadn’t found anything she was passionate about. She had even thought about going to trade school, but all that came to mind for traditional women’s trades were things related to beauty. When she learned of an open apartment leasing manager position, she decided to give it a chance. As Bri found her passion in real estate, it opened a whole new world for her. She took her time finishing her real estate coursework, wanting the end result but not being excited about the bookwork aspect. Her parents and James encouraged her to finish what she started and keep her focus on the end goal of becoming a REALTOR®, and it paid off as she started working for a small brokerage in Portland in September 2020. Bri discovered that she needed a change and joined Keller Williams. She said it was one of the best decisions she has made. She connected with her mentor, Charlie Howell, who coached the new REALTOR® and saw that she would be a great asset to his team, The Paradise Team. Initially, Bri wanted to be a solo agent, but in September 2021, she decided to join the team. She was thrilled at how well the team worked together and supported each other. Although she doesn’t measure success monetarily, Bri is proud of closing $3M in volume in her first full year as a REALTOR®. She credits her mentor Charlie, broker Lori Garcia, and Seth Howk for setting her up for success. Bri is very thankful for the support KW gives to new agents. She learned firsthand the importance of having the right people in her life to keep her going. This fall, Bri will celebrate two years as a REALTOR®. She enjoys working for herself, with a team, and is Corpus Christi Real Producers • 25
thankful that she is encouraged to ask them questions and share her own insights. She loves that in this industry, she is always able to learn new things. Bri’s personality and social media presence help set her apart from others. She is very strategic with her videos and how she markets her properties and promotes her listings.
Real estate allows me to be myself and live outside of the box. I can use my creativity and the things I’m passionate about to help others and to sell South Texas as my clients say yes to the address! From the outside, it may not look like she has a good worklife balance because Bri loves to work. Since she doesn’t have children, and her boyfriend is away for two weeks at a time because of his job in the oil field, she answers client calls and works on her marketing “after hours.” When James comes home, Bri still takes care of her clients, but she scales things back a little. She enjoys making memories with her family and spends a lot of time with her Pitty mix Endo and her Maltipoo Sookie, who are both “rays of sunshine.”

Bri has a heart of gold and wants to be remembered for being a light to others. It’s not just about the deal for her, and she believes in creating lifelong friendships with her clients. She wants them to know she is always ready to help them and that she is grateful for this path. REALTORS® help people make the biggest decisions in their lives, and Bri said it is an amazing feeling to be a part of making a difference for families and for her community. She also wants to make a difference in the lives of other REALTORS®, showing kindness and support since they are all in the same business and working toward the same goal. “I’ve seen people cry at closings,” shared Bri, “and I thought to myself, I helped do this! I don’t regret exploring and finding what I truly wanted to do; I was tired of the workforce’s dress codes and rules. Real estate allows me to be myself and live outside of the box. I can use my creativity and the things I’m passionate about to help others and to sell South Texas as my clients say yes to the address!”

& WILL AVA STORBECK STORBECK Storbeck Realty Group

My Mother taught me how to stay calm, not overreact, and apply the Golden rule; these lessons have served me very well, and I have passed them on to my sons. As a team, Will and I have a plan and goal, and we work it together. We have always gotten along well, and working together is a joy because we choose whoever is stronger in each area and focus on that so we can capitalize on our strengths. We both have a strong faith in God and love our big family, and we also like to have fun and reward ourselves for a job well done! I completely trust Will, and that is something money cannot buy. We both love meeting new people and helping them through the process of buying a home because it is very rewarding. I have tried-and-true ways, but I crave collaboration and am motivated by Will’s ideas, perspective, and fresh approach to business. Will inspires me with his work ethic. He researches issues and learns how to tackle them. He listens and learns from our broker and experienced colleagues and has discovered what to focus on and what to let go of to use his time wisely. If I could, I would go back and do it like he does now! I am proud to watch Will’s compassionate, responsible approach and to see him grow into an accomplished and excellent business person as well. I respect him; he puts in the hard work and dedication it takes to succeed. The stress of running a business calls for patience and trust, and as we moved into an adult peer relationship, we have made a great team!
No matter what’s going on in life, my mom is always at my side, encouraging me, taking care of me, listening to me, and loving me. She inspires me to take care of my family, when I have one of my own. She paused her college education to homeschool my three older brothers for years and graduated later in life. I want to pass on the wisdom that she and my father gave me. The most important values my mother has taught me is how to love and rely on the Lord Jesus Christ. She also models how to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Despite my childhood stubbornness, my mom always helped point my path in the direction of loving God and of loving, and understanding, my neighbor. By watching my mom interact with others, I learned how to treat clients and how they operate, as well as how to approach certain situations and speak in a concise manner during large challenges. We decided to create a team together because two Storbecks are better than one! We are both very social and dynamic, and we engage our friends and sphere of influence to strengthen our business. The best thing about working with my mom is having a two-on-two balance when we have buyer or seller appointments. We bounce ideas off each other easily, and we help each other take care of client needs. Momma, I’m proud of you for staying strong, working diligently, and being there for our family. It hasn’t been easy losing Dad, but it’s encouraging to see you always keeping a smile and having an uplifting spirit no matter the situation. I’m so grateful to have you, and I’m grateful to work with you and build this business together. I can’t wait to take our new legacy to horizons that haven’t been reached before. I love you, Mom, and I wouldn’t trade you for another momma! -- Will

CHRISTINE BELIN
Coldwell Banker Pacesetter Steel REALTORS® I love our time together, and it is a pleasure to work alongside my daughter in the industry that I have enjoyed for so many years. We respect each other and have a very close relationship in work and play. We always put our clients ahead of our needs, and we both continue to educate ourselves to find the best way to serve our clients. While I don’t mind slow times, Christine is always on the go and can’t wait for the next client to come along who needs help. She inspires me to keep loving the profession we are in with fresh ideas, market updates, and new technology. My mom taught me two lessons that I have passed on to my daughters as well: live by the golden rule, treating others the way you want to be treated; anything worthwhile is worth doing well, so do it to the best of your ability. They both live this way, and my proudest moment with Christine was when she was recently selected REALTOR® of the Year by the Corpus Christi Association of REALTORS®, the same honor I was chosen for 20 years ago! My life and career have grown inexplicably through this wonderful partnership. When one is unavailable to assist a client, the other always steps in to help out. Our time together is invaluable.
My mom was selling homes when I was a child, and she used to bring home floor plans of the new homes that she was selling so my sister and I could play Real Estate! I still remember the last hug from my mom when I was leaving for college in 1985. I left my hotel career in 1995 to help my mom with her real estate business, serving as a licensed REALTOR’s® assistant. It also gave me the flexibility to become a stay-at-home mom while working with my mom every day! She taught me to have a positive attitude and do things I believe in. It is wonderful to work together and have fun when we do! We are both very supportive of each other. My mom is the rock in the ring and has always been a positive role model, working hard and balancing home life with her career. She encourages me to continue to pursue education and designations and keep updated with what is going on in the real estate industry. Mom, thank you for always being there for me and supporting all of the decisions that I have made in life! You molded me to follow you in so many ways, and I am thankful for all you have done for our family and me! I love you, MOM! -- Christine

DOUG NICHOLS
Coldwell Banker Pacesetter Steel REALTORS® I have a couple of cards Doug has written to me that say “thanks for being there for us,” and those words still mean a lot to me. He used to coach in another state, but now I see, talk to, or text him daily! The best part has been when agents I admire call on him to help them; seeing them trust him with their clients and business makes me proud! I also love when parents of students he coaches tell me that Doug is a great example for their kids.
When I was young, I remember going to her real estate office and running around, probably driving them all crazy. She and dad were such staunch supporters of mine on the basketball court. Although I claimed to be embarrassed by it at the time, I still remember (and appreciate) her and all of her friends coming to my games at Ray High School with their “We Love #5” and “Go Doug Go” signs.
We think alike, although he might not realize it. We both like marketing, selling, finding just the right home for someone, and finding creative solutions during negotiations. He is great at meeting people and making lasting friendships. He inspires me to learn new things and keep current in order to be a resource when he calls with “a quick question.” It is nice to be able to share my experience and see that it is helpful.
Her clients and co-workers all love her. Every single real-estate person I come in contact with says, “Oh my, I love your mom!” I want my clients, and my coworkers, to enjoy working with me and to appreciate the value I can provide as well. I love being able to pick my mom’s brain and ask her questions. I used to start every phone call with “I’m sorry to bother you...again...” until she finally told me to stop it because she enjoyed answering my million questions.
We enjoy dinners with margaritas, playing games, and of course, our pets. He loves coaching and seeing the STX Athletics kids improve, and his father and I love watching him interact with the kids! Real estate has been a great career for me, and working with Doug has made it even better!
I love you, Mom! Thank you for all of the support and prayers! -- Doug

KATLYN CRISMAN
Keller Williams Coastal Bend
We are truly yin and yang, and Katlyn is the one that helps level things out. When we are at work, she is my business partner; although we are definitely mother and daughter, we work well together because I always make sure to remember she is my equal. Sometimes, it’s a little scary because we are so in sync; other times, she’s more laid back, and I’m more headstrong.
As a kid, I was always tagging along on showings and listing appointments! No matter WHERE we were, someone would bring up real estate, and my mom would casually insert herself in the conversation, and next thing you know, she’s selling someone a home. She never shoved her job down anyone’s throat, she would just educate them, and people respected that and realized she was knowledgeable. Occasionally I tease her because she quips, “Do as I say and not as I do.”
I’m in awe of Katlyn and have enjoyed watching her grow and become a great agent who is a rockstar at marketing. She has some of the best design style of anyone I know, and I’m delighted to see her excel in her personal life and actually take the time to enjoy it. The day I saw her buy her first home, all on her own, with no help from her parents or anyone, was one of my proudest moments.
It just fell in place for us to start working together, and now, five years later, I wouldn’t consider going off on my own. We put the miles on her car. All jokes aside, she takes real estate very seriously, and there is no one I trust more to guide me on this crazy journey. She also respects my opinions and treats me like a business partner, which plays a huge role in our success.
My mother passed away when I was young. Something I learned from that loss, and have stressed with Katlyn since she was young, is that no matter how angry you get with the other person, be careful with the words you choose to express that anger…you never know if they could be the last words they will ever hear. I truly believe that is one of the reasons Katlyn and I have had such strong and open communication.
My mom has so much passion for her career, which inspires me more than she knows! Everyone knows my mom is a hustler. After her divorce, she was a self-employed single mother, and I can honestly say she always had a roof over my head and made sure there was food and running water; if we struggled, I never knew it. Mom, your kind heart and spirit never go unnoticed. I strive to be as successful and confident as you are and have always been. But most of all, I hope to be as great of a mother as you are to me.

About Our Moms
My mom taught me, “Anywhere you go, always leave it better than you found it.” As a child, I always understood this meant making sure I picked up my messes when playing at a friend’s house. Reflecting on this, I must have felt a great sense of pride in following her instructions because it has carried with me through the years. Not only do I do my best to leave things better everywhere I go, but I give my all to leave people better than I found them. Life gets messy, and cleaning up is much more productive with a helping hand. I see beauty in the mess. I don’t just want others to see the beauty “out there,” but I want them to see the beauty within themselves. – Amanda Carmichael, Owner and Publisher
I am so grateful for my mom who helped introduce me to God and encouraged me to be the person He created me to be. She taught me by her example, not just her words, and who filled my life with wonderful people and experiences. I am rising up and calling her blessed (and a blessing)! – Ruth, writer and copy editor
My auntie Mar, who took care of me since I was a baby. And my mother-in-love, who’s been a part of my family’s life from the start. All of these three ladies molded me to the mother I am today. I love you all. Hope y’all have a wonderful Mother’s Day!” “When it comes to mom, I’m blessed to have three. My mama, who gave birth to me and has been there for me and my brother.

My mom would do the little things constantly, like making my lunch and making sure I was set up for the school day when I was young, making friends with my friends’ parents on a real level, coming to all my practices and all my games, letting my friends come along on our family’s summer vacations. From taking me to sporting events to Disney, I guess my favorite memory is her just always being there. She has a way of guiding me with advice, teaching me, whether she knew it or not, to be kind and giving to those around me, and to embrace those around me that may be struggling during a season, loving on them without expecting anything in return. She definitely has a giving and loving heart. – Martin Ramos, photographer and videographer

We are always the ladies behind the camera recording the moments of life around us, so I am sending a rare selfie of the two of us. My mother-in-law is one of my favorite people in the world. She has taught me so much about strength and what it truly means to be a mother through the ups and downs of life. I am so thankful for the many things she has taught me. Happy Mother’s Day! Love your favorite daughter-in-law in Texas! – Sara Greaud, photographer
My mom taught me that “you are special, and you do matter.” It can be hard to fit in, get along, and get through life, and having that one person by your side, whispering in your ear that you are special and that you do matter, can make all the difference in the world. My mom always tends to others and helps with everything, so my favorite memory with her is my wedding day when she was able to sit back, relax, and enjoy herself. – Dr. Kasia Suarez, writer
