Event Planners Take the Stress Out of Your Special Celebrations By Kara Navolio

fter 20 years in corporate event planning, in 2013 Rayna Hess decided to start her own company, Eventfully Yours Event Designs. The Walnut Creek native comes from a very tight-knit family, so it was a natural fit to include her sister Kendra McMasters as her business partner. McMasters’ background in sales, management and product development was a perfect fit for the rental side of the business, which grew in 2015 to include Chairs for Affairs Party Rentals. Their mom also helps with the business as sales manager. “We strive to make sure that our company stands out for our service,” says Hess. “We want people to visit our showroom and feel more relaxed when they leave because we are a one-stop shop, and we can handle anything a client wants to do, no matter how big or small.” As a designer, Hess loves the artistic side of the business and enjoys helping each client bring their vision to life, from intimate gatherings, to weddings, to large corporate events. “Many people are stressed out when they plan events, and we can take that stress away from you! An event planner can make the process easy, streamlined and stress free.”

They are lucky to have a crew that is fun to work with. And even though the sisters work together every day, they also love hanging out together outside of work with their entire family. Both are married to Contra Costa firefighters, Hess to a Fire Engineer, and McMasters to a retired Fire Captain. They support the Firefighters Association and are members of the Rotary Club of Lafayette and four Chambers of Commerce. The business was honored by Diablo Magazine as “Best Wedding Planner in the East Bay” and also voted #1 event planner in Concord for the past two years. “I’m proud of the reviews people leave when I know that we’ve made a difference in an important day in their lives,” says Hess. “I’m also proud that my sister and I have done this together. We hope it’s a legacy to leave to our own kids someday.”
