166 E. Prospect gets a new look!

f you’ve ventured down East Prospect recently, you may have noticed a new shop take over a familiar building. Beyond Active, previously known as Bay Area Fitwear, has moved into 166 E. Prospect Dr. This go-to location for all things wellness is looking at a bright future! Courtney Cruey, a west-side mother of three, bought the business from a friend in April of 2017. In order to facilitate growth she hustled over to any charity/fundraiser/pop-up event where you were allowed to sell. “After a year, I leased a small storage space on East Prospect and turned what was supposed to be a storage closet into a space I could sell activewear out of. I called myself the ‘speak-easy of activewear’, you only knew of the location by referral!!” October, 2019 saw Beyond Active launch into a full-on Danville boutique. They carry new brands that haven’t made it to the big box stores yet, as well as some familiar and well-loved companies and styles. When asked what Courtney loves about running a business here, she said, “this business gives me a platform to help raise money and be active in our community.” Aside from just selling stylish activewear, Beyond Active is expanding into the best of natural and wellness products and gym necessities. They also have an amazing outdoor space called “The Backyard” that is the center of some very cool future plans.
