A small town with a population of 1500, set in splendid surrounds, it is of great scenic, natural and historical interest. The old, extremely well-kept town centre has been beautifully restored and boasts splendid cobblestone paving. The Church of St George and the Immaculate Conception and the Church of St Vittore Mauro, all make Origlio a very special, delightful area both for the local populace and for the many visitors. The countless trails, which crisscross the area, allow for enjoyable walks and excursions, making it easy to reach the San Zeno, San Bernardo and San Clemente hills and the Redde Tower. But Origlio’s real gem is its small lake, a fortunate blend of nature protection (reed beds, waterlilies, ponds, alder groves, an orchard, fauna and flora) and leisure.
Un paese di 1500 abitanti con un importante valore paesaggistico, naturalistico e storico. Il nucleo ben ristrutturato e ben tenuto con un acciottolato di splendida fattura; le aree verdi tutt’attorno; la Chiesa di San Giorgio e dell’Immacolata e la Chiesa di San Vittore Mauro fanno di Origlio un territorio pregevole e gradevole sia per gli abitanti sia per i numerosi visitatori. I numerosi percorsi che si snodano nel territorio costituiscono delle piacevoli passeggiate e escursioni che permettono di raggiungere i colli di San Zeno, di San Bernardo, di San Clemente e la Torre di Redde. Ma la vera perla di Origlio è il suo laghetto: un felice connubio fra protezione naturalistica (canneti, ninfee, stagni, ontaneto, frutteto, fauna e flora) ed esigenze ricreative.
