the good news! ”The Intention of Jesus Man” In 1970 my family lived in the basement of my grandparent’s home in Omaha, Nebraska. An alley behind the house divided us to the back of a Harley dealership owned by AMF. My uncle was a motorcycle mechanic out of my grandparent’s garage. From the age of 10 motorcycles were all around me. An MC operated behind the dealership and I would hang out, sweep floors, be their gofer for tools, and watch a lot. I had the opportunity to ride, learn, and understand their code of brotherhood. A biker who was in the M.C. took me under his wing. He looked out for me, showed me respect and I respected him. I watched him closely and listened to what he said. He protected everyone, even if they messed up. I’m sure later he told them what they did wrong. If he did something wrong he would admit it, I guess those are the qualities of a strong leader. There were certain days and nights that I could not hang around. There were days when there were 100’s of bikes parked everywhere and the brotherhood I witnessed I would dream about. One Saturday, there was a fight in the parking lot 1 block away. The parking lot had a 10 foot fence on two sides and a brick wall on the others. The fight started, and the Omaha Police Department showed up and locked the gate and left them alone. No one was killed that day but a lot of blood was spilled. That dealership never had any more trouble and moved to another location a number of years later. Most of the M.C. members gave me attention and one of the ladies told me when I got older she’d be my old lady, LOL. I’ll never forget “Rocksan”. Anyway, I looked up to “Bikerman” he taught me a lot about the biker world and I would try to model the meekness he had, that let others know it wasn’t weekness. He believed about Jesus. He would mention Him at times pointing to the Cross on his bicep. At times I wanted to be just like him. He told me just be yourself and be respectful at all times. Fast forward some 51 years, 8 motorcycles later, club rides, solo rides, event rides, EasyRiders, Sturgis, Patching in with Heaven Saints M.M. in 2015. I was tired of running from my past.

Rodger Duvall ~ Jesus Freak Thee Redeemed House biker Church

God chose me to Pastor Thee Redeemed House in Kenly, NC and hold the 95 Truckstop Chapter NC of Heaven Saints M.M. I still look back at “Bikeman’s” character, he had everyone’s respect even those who didn’t want to. They just didn’t understand him. I see now that he was trying to be the best he could be knowing Christ in his situation. I can see some of that now. In God’s word “The Bible” tells of a man who was and is the Son of God, about how Jesus learned obedience by the things he suffered (Hebrew 5:8) Jesus became qualified to be the one and only high priest in Heaven for all people, He was without sin yet experienced temptations. He fully experienced living a human life as we do and he fulfilled in obedience his Father’s will for Him, and was perfect. The disciple Apostle John recorded that Jesus only did what the Father did, He learned from His Father how to live on earth. (John 5:19) Jesus told all of the Disciples, “If you’ve seen me you have seen the Father. (John 14:9) Jesus lived everything that the Father is, He copied His behavior, isn’t that the sincerest form of flattery, to copy someone else. Jesus fully respected His Father, he learned from Him, walked with Him and understood From Him, and we are to follow Jesus in the same way. He is the way the truth and the life. Yes, I believe Jesus was a Biker. Not like my brother friend “Bikerman”, but my friend “Jesus Man”. Jesus’ example was to follow His Father, our example is to follow Jesus. That was His intention a “Desire to ride just like Him”.
