GROUND BROKEN FOR CENTURY PLACE Habitat for Humanity of Glynn County has finally brought to fruition the dream to have a neighborhood for their partner families to call “home” and live in community with one another. After years of strategizing and planning, they officially broke ground on the 15-home development named “Century Place.” The development was given this name because it will include the 100th Habitat home built in Glynn County. The organization gives credit and thanks to members of its Board of Directors, their dedicated staff, generous donors, community leaders, Jonathan Roberts Civil Engineering, J. Heirs Construction, JWSC, and many others for making this community dream a reality. CLUB TOURNEY TRADITION CONTINUES Tee off at the Annual Gnat’s Landing-Boys & Girls Club Golf Tournament on Friday, May 7. This four man scramble tourney hosted by Jekyll Island Golf Club and benefiting the youth of our community has a 11:00 a.m. shotgun start. The day will end with an after-party at Gnat’s Landing with
live music and appetizers, which spouses are invited to attend. Registration fee of $100 per person/ $400 per team covers tournament fees, cart fee, breakfast, lunch from the Jefecias Mobile Kitchen Food Truck, range balls, and after party. PGA TOUR PROS PARTNER FOR PINWHEEL CUP On Tuesday, April 27, the inaugural Pinwheel Cup will bring together golf enthusiasts, community and business leaders, philanthropists and PGA TOUR professionals for a world-class golf experience at Frederica Golf Club to prevent
child abuse in the Golden Isles. As the benefiting organizations, Coastal Coalition for Children and Safe Harbor Children’s Centers will each field a team of 18 twosomes to compete head-to-head on their behalf in a one-day modified Ryder Cup tournament format. The winning organization will retain the Pinwheel Cup Trophy until the following year’s
tournament and take home additional prize money. Honorary Team Captains are Harris English for Coastal Coalition for Children and Davis Love III for Safe Harbor Children’s Center. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Sponsors of the Pinwheel Cup help change lives of abused, neglected, and at-risk children and youth throughout Coastal Georgia.
