ARCH OF CÁPARRA Oliva de Plasencia Crossroads This four-sided quadriphon arch is unique in Spain. It was located in the centre of the Roman city of Capera, today Caparra, a city of great mercantile importance due to its location on the Vía de la Plata (Silver Route). The arch was surrounded by the main monuments, such as the baths, whose remains can still be seen today.

ROMAN THERMAL BATHS Alange Well-being in a World Heritage Site

This health and relaxation spa complex in honour of the goddess Juno was founded by the Romans in the 3rd century. Currently, you can enjoy both the spa and these Roman vestiges, such as the two circular domeroofed baths, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The properties of its mineralmedicinal waters are unique, and these Roman baths combine traditional therapies with the latest trends in wellness and hydrotherapy.

Thanks to the inscriptions on the arch we know that it was built at the end of the first century by Fidius Macer, to fulfil the wishes of his parents. www.turismoextremadura.com/es/explora/Ciudad-romana-de-Caparra/
