JAPAN AND INDIA ARE PILLARS OF A FREE AND OPEN INDO-PACIFIC
India and Japan as the hosts of the G20 and G7 respectively can lead by example in ideas, actions and institutions to redress the fulcrum of a free and open world for the 21st century. The two are well positioned to act in consonance to not only establish the Indo-Pacific as the global centre of gravity but to also demonstrate the ability and willingness of Asian nations to sustain a rules-based order for the world’s benefit
Jagat Prakash Nadda
Japan and India’s national interests call for elevating a free and open Indo-Pacific (FOIP) as the bedrock for global peace, prosperity and a rules-based order. They should use their prerogative as hosts at the upcoming G7 and G20 Summits to cement a FOIP as the fulcrum of a free and open world.
Over the last half of the 20th century, international bodies often referred to a meeting of minds along the two sides of the North Atlantic. Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar observed that Europe tends to think its problems are the world’s problems while the world’s problems are not its own. In the 21st century, the fulcrum of the free world rests not in Europe but in the Indo-Pacific.
During his March 2023 visit to India, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida articulated Japan’s new plan for a FOIP. As flagbearer of the Global South, India would do well to do the same. The two nations may herald the Indo-Pacific era by directly responding to the Global South’s concerns. India and Japan are firmly establishing the Indo-Pacific as the geoeconomic and geopolitical centre of the world and as the engine for prosperity for the Global South.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has jolted the world economy and regressed its growth. But the global economic impact of a China-induced conflict in the East or South China Seas would surpass that of the Russian war. The Indo-Pacific accounts for more than half of the world’s economy and population and is the thoroughfare for over two-

thirds of global commerce.
Outside of Ukraine and Syria, the Indo-Pacific is one of the world’s biggest tinderboxes, with China engaging in territorial disputes with all its major neighbours and expanding its military might to achieve its claims. The Indo-Pacific is the bellwether and the bulwark for a free and open rules-based world.
The idea of a FOIP has found growing convergence between Japan and India. Kishida and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have called for a forceful defence of peace and derided the use of force to undermine sovereign territories. They have championed individual-centric representative governance.
At its core, a FOIP respects sovereignty, accountable governance

idents’ lives will hinge on its ability to meet regional infrastructure demand of over US$1 trillion per year. Japan leads from the front as the region’s largest source of foreign direct investment. India should join the effort by extending India–Japan infrastructure investments in India across the region.
The two nations should lead the effort to establish a FOIP Infrastructure Fund of US$100 billion per year to leverage private capital with the United States, Australia, South Korea, Europe and others. Trade and Transit corridors from Dacca to Danang and submarine cables from Mombasa to Mumbai to Manilla should be of high priority. India and Japan are well situated to demonstrate their ability and willingness to back their calls for a peaceful, free and open rules-abiding region. In addition to defending peace, the two nations are primed to be the drivers of a free and open economy and prosperity across the Indo-Pacific. SPIRITUAL SPEAK
The Indo-Pacific’s primacy in global security and prosperity should be reflected in world institutions. Leading free and open Indo-Pacific economies including India, Australia and South Korea should join their Atlantic counterparts in the G7 to form a G10. A new G10 would be more representative of leading liberal economies and better equipped to ensure a free and open rulesbased international economic order. As the host of the G7 in 2023, Japan is well suited to jumpstart this institutional evolution. 2023 has the making of a transformative year in ushering in the Indo-Pacific era. India’s diversity has drawn world towards country, says PM Modi
New Delhi (PTI): PM
Narendra Modi has said Indians’ natural and instinctive love for diversity is the nation’s real strength and has kept it united through centuries, noting that it is this aspect of the country which has drawn the world towards it.
“India is home to many cultures, cuisines, customs and lifestyles, where people belonging to different communities, practising different
faiths, speaking different languages, observing different rituals not only coexist but also celebrate each other’s diverse way of life,’” he said in a letter to Nazakat Choudhary, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch.
Choudhary had visited Assam as part of the government’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ programme that envisages bringing people from different
regions together to know each oth er’s cultures and traditions.

DRAFT CLEAR & SIMPLE LAWS”
Says Amit Shah at training programme on legislative drafting
New Delhi (Agencies):
Union Home Minister
Amit Shah on Monday said that it is important to draft clear and simple laws. He said this after inaugurating a training programme on Legislative Drafting in the national Capital. He stressed the need for a well drafted legislation.
“If legislation is drafted well, the judiciary won’t get an opportunity to overstep it. Grey areas leave scope for encroachment. Legislation should reflect the political will of the Cabinet or Parliament,’” Shah said.
Addressing the gathering at the event, Shah said it is important to draft a “simple and clear act’” to avoid interference from the court and any kind of dispute.
Noting that legislative drafting is an ongoing process, the home minister also emphasised upgrading the skill while drafting any act.
“Drafting of legislation is an ongoing pro-
cess so there is a necessity for skill upgradation. If we fail to do so we would be irrelevant,’” Shah added. In the training programme that was built with an aim to help the legislative draftsmen in their capacity building, Shah added that neglecting the importance of legislative drafting not only weakens the law and order but also the democratic system of the country.

Aurangabad (PTI): Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former MP Chandrakant Khaire on Monday claimed riots were being instigated in Maharashtra to stop Muslim votes from shifting towards the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Manipur CM N Biren Singh on Monday said that the Centre has assured there will be no compromise on the state’s integrity. Singh’s assertion comes in the backdrop of 10 Manipur MLAs from the Kuki tribe (including seven from the ruling BJP) issuing a joint statement on Friday seeking separate administration under the Constitution for areas where the Kuki, Hmar and Zomi communities reside. The chief minister was addressing media persons in Imphal to apprise the latter about developments in the state after meeting union home minister Amit Shah in the national Capital on Sunday. “Yesterday we met union home minister Amit Shah and briefed him in detail about the present situation in Manipur. I BECAME 1ST WOMAN CM OF STATE DUE TO BHAIRON SINGH JI: VASUNDHARA RAJE
Aishwary Pradhan and Ramesh Sharma
Sikar: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the biggest problem of politics is the emptiness of ideas. “Bhairon Singh Shekhawat stayed with principles and never compromised with his ideology. Politics for Shekhawat was a medium to serve people and an instrument for socio-economic reform,” he said while addressing a programme on the death anniversary of former V-P Bhairon Singh Shekhawat at Khachariyawas village in Sikar.
Gadkari, who represents Nagpur constitu-
ency, said the ‘politics of service’ doesn’t come with talks, books or research, but with actions. He said the work on Delhi-Jaipur electric highway is on and when electric buses will run, the ticket cost will
be Rs 30 lesser to the present fare. Vasundhara Raje, CP Joshi, GS Shekhawat, Rajendra Rathore, Satish Poonia, Chandrashekhar, Ghanshyam Tiwari, Arun Chaturvedi, Alka Gurjar & others were present.
Sikar: Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari visited Khatu Shyamji town of Sikar district and held a meeting at Hotel Lakhdatar with NHAI officials where former CM Vasundhara Raje, BJP State Prez CP Joshi, LoP Rajendra Rathore & officers were present. The leaders also prayed at the temple. Gadkari gave a gift to Shyam devotees by announcing a 7 meter service road for pedestrians from Jaipur to Reengus, an overbridge at Bikaner stand in Reengus, Ring road from Jeen Mataji to Salasar via Reengus to Khatudham. He also gave consent for construction of an overbridge in Manda NH-52 and Palsana and asked to prepare the DPR. MP Sumedhanand Saraswati complained about not preparing DPR earlier. NHAI officials were reprimanded
for not preparing DPR. Shri Shyam Mandir Committee President Pratap Singh Chauhan expressed gratitude to the Minister. Later, Gadkari reached Salasar Balaji Temple along with Raje, CP Joshi, and Rajendra Rathore & offered prayers. Vidhyasagar Sharma and Tanuj Lata
Sikar: BJP State president CP Joshi referred to Bhairon Singh Shekhawat’s statement that politics was “Kajal ki Kothri,” and said that he was such a personality, who did politics of purity and cleanliness throughout his life.
Sikar: Former CM Vasundhara Raje said that former V-P Bhairon Singh Shekhawat was deeply hurt when he was undergoing heart surgery in Cleveland in 1996, whereas, an ‘operation’ was going on in Jaipur to topple his govt. However, Congress didn’t succeed in this. Raje said that Bhairon Singh ji shared cordial relations with politicians of all parties. This didn’t mean that they were colluding. Whenever it came to organisation, Bhairon Singh ji used to stand firm like a rock,” Raje said. “It was because of him that I got the opportunity to become the first woman Chief Minister of the state,” she said.
SHEKHAWAT WAS AN INSTITUTION IN HIMSELF: RAJENDRA RATHORE
Sikar: Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore in his address, said that the land of Khachariyawas has produced leaders like Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. He said that Shekhawat was an institution in himself who nurtured many leaders like him (Rathore).
AN IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF IAS TRANSFER LIST!
Rajendra Chhabra
Jaipur: The Chief Minister has done major changes in the state’s bureaucracy through the jumbo transfer list shuffling 74 officials. An attempt has been made to bring a clean and result oriented the administration on the top level. Departments like Mines, UDH, Medical, LSG, Irrigation etc have been handed to ‘new’ officials.
The main officials who have been ‘gainer’ in the list are Veenu Gupta, Shubhra Singh, Naveen Jain, Jogaram, T. Ravikant, Mahesh Chandra Sharma, Pukhraj Sen, Meghraj Singh Ratnu and Bharti Dixit. Meanwhile, the losers include Kunji Lal Meena, Dinesh Kumar, Prithvi Raj, Alok Gupta, Karan Singh, Vishram Meena, Jitendra Kumar Soni, Shakti Singh Rathore, Nakate Shivprasad, Anshdeep and Alok Ranjan. Jogaram, a silent and low profile performer, has been given the crucial assignment of JDA where he is to implement Gehlot and Dhariwal’s mandate to clean up and build up a new city.
Senior most ACS
Veenu Gupta has been made powerful by handing her the reins of the Mines department.
Shubhra Singh has returned to Jaipur after twelve years. She had left for Delhi in May 2011
and her sudden return has surprised everyone and several speculations are being made regarding the return. Mines department has been taken from Subodh Agarwal and he has been handed the Water Resources department. Notably, during Agarwal’s tenure of 34 months, Mines department earned a record eighteen thousand crore rupees in revenue!
Agriculture Minister
Lal Chand Kataria had been demanded the removal of Dinesh Kumar from his department and now Kataria’s demand has been addressed as Dinesh has been sent to a considerable low-key department like GAD.
After a long wait, finally Naveen Jain has been brought in the main stream by handing him the reins of School Education. Word is that
he was not on ‘parallel’ with Ramesh Meena.
The mishandling of doctors’ strike by Prithvi Raj had put the state government in a spot and the doctors had made a condition of ending their strike that prithvi Raj be removed. Hence it was only a matter of time before the official as shown the door.
Although after playing a two year long innings, it was almost certain that Kunji Lal Meena will be changed from UDH, but it was also certain that he would be handed some important department. However, the Udaipur bribe case has dampened the hopes and Kunji Lal has been sent out of the Secretariat.
Meanwhile, Ravi Jain has now been shifted from JDA to another assignment and in his place Jogaram has been positioned in JDA.

Priya's journey into the beauty pageant industry began at a young age when she was inspired by watching beauty queens on national television. With the support of her family, she pursued her dream and started participating in local pageants and ramp shows. Despite facing initial resistance from her father, Priya contin-
ued to work hard and eventually won him over with her dedication and success in the field, while describing her journey she said, "In 2019, I did my first National Pageant called Miss Teen India International by Glamanand group. I got selected from Mumbai Auditions as a national Finalist among the top 32 contestants from all across India and now I am associate with Elite Miss Rajasthan."
One of Priya's biggest strengths as a beauty pageant contestant is her ability to balance the physical demands of pageant preparation with maintaining a healthy mindset and self-esteem. Despite facing criticism early on for being skinny, she focused on making healthy food choices and following an exercise routine that kept her fit and healthy. “I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Jagdeesh sir and Gaurav Gaur for being the ultimate support system to my dreams."

When it comes to handling criticism and negative feedback, Priya turns to her mother for support. She does not take negative feedback as a personal attack and instead refocuses her thoughts to maintain her confidence and selfesteem. She also seeks out positive people who can boost her morale and confidence, the diva said, "My mother has always been my biggest supporter who boosts my morale and confidence. Being in the field of Modelling is not easy because there is so much negativity around us all the time based on how we look or what we wear. I try not to take this negative feedback as a personal attack. I make sure to refocus my thoughts so that this negativity does not affect me much where I can boost my self-esteem."

How to Build a
Secure Attachment and Strong Bond with Your Baby?

Skin Experts on how following a Tender, Love and Care routine can do wonders:
SKIN-TO-SKIN TIME (KANGAROO CARE)
Skin-to-skin contact consists of placing your baby, perhaps just wearing a diaper and a beanie directly on your bare chest, skin-to-skin, with a
blanket, gown, or shirt wrapped over you. This physical contact promotes a sense of security and comfort to the baby and allows the mother and child to connect on a deeper level. Skin-to-skin time also helps regulate the baby's body temperature and breathing, reduces stress, and promotes relaxation.
BABY MASSAGE
This can help parents understand their baby's cues and needs, as well as provide the baby with a comforting and soothing experience. Baby massage benefits the baby's skin by increasing blood circulation, encouraging better
absorption of nutrients, and aiding in skin hydration. Baby massage is a gentle way for parents to connect with their newborns. Baby massage also has added benefits such as reducing crying and improving sleep quality.
SINGING AND TALKING
Singing and talking can be incredibly effective ways of bonding with your baby. Not only does it help create a strong connection between you and your little one, but it can be fun for parents as well. Your baby will recognize and find comfort in your presence. Singing and talking can help them
Playtime can provide an opportunity for bonding and creating positive memories with your tiny tot. Whether it is playing with toys, singing, dancing, or simply cuddling and making funny faces; taking the time to engage with your baby is a valuable investment in their growth and overall well-being.
BATH TIME
Bathtime with your baby is not only important for keeping them clean and healthy, but it can also be a wonderful way to bond. Warm water and a gentle touch can provide a soothing experience for your child, while also allowing you to connect with them in a relaxed and playful environment. Further, moisturizing after a bath is extremely crucial for babies because it helps to replenish lost moisture and protect their delicate skin from drying out.
READING TO YOUR BABY
You can entertain your baby while reading and using different voices and pointing out pictures. Reading time helps cognitive and social development, as well as strengthens the parent-child relationship. Mothers prioritize emotional bonding with their children through consistent nurturing, responsiveness, and affectionate interactions.
