Class Objective Certification

This training program was designed to provide participants with basic skills necessary for an entry level position as a dispatcher or transportation coordinator for a warehouse/shipping facility.

Delivery Method

Internship program following the Goodwill warehouse dispatchers through their daily tasks. The program would start off with a lecture style class and end with a job shadow of our own Goodwill transportation dispatchers.

Duration

4 weeks, schedule with dispatchers based on availability (2 daytime dispatchers, 1 night dispatcher)

Prerequisites & Assessments

Valid ID, 18 Years of age, no open criminal charges, ability and willingness to work in outdoor environmental conditions. Good hand to eye coordination. Pass Northstars assessments: Computer Basics with an 85% or higher, Internet Basics with an 85% or higher, and Windows 10 with a 75% or higher.

Curriculum

Internship program following a Goodwill dispatcher where they learn about the dispatch system, driver logs, tracking systems, and communication skills with the drivers and other facilities. This will also include learning computer basics, such as Google Docs and Excel.
