Class Objective Certification

This training program is designed to provide participants with the data skills and techniques necessary for an entry level warehouse, inventory or logistics position.

Delivery Method

In-person lecture class for the first week, and then the remaining 3 weeks will include an internship program with hands-on training in a Goodwill warehouse (Cockrill Bend).

Duration

4 weeks, 20 hours per week The first week of classroom instruction will be Mon-Fri from 8am-2pm

The remaining 3 weeks will follow an internship program where each participant will be scheduled 20 hours per week

Prerequisites & Assessments

Valid ID, 18 Years of age, no open criminal charges, ability and willingness to work in outdoor environmental conditions. Good hand to eye coordination. Pass Northstars assessments: Computer Basics with an 85% or higher, Internet Basics with an 85% or higher, and Windows 10 with a 75% or higher.

Curriculum

In the first week, participants will learn from the NRF Warehouse, Inventory, and Logistics Industry Fundamentals curriculum, as well as go through Goodwill’s safety training. Then, for the next 3 weeks, with input of a community partner, participants will get hands-on training in a Goodwill warehouse, with transportation and warehouse employees.

Accreditation

NRF Foundation Rise Up Warehouse, Inventory, and Logistics Industry Fundamentals Specialist Certificate. Forklift 1-Day Certificate of Completion

Space Requirements

Classroom/computer lab space for the first week and then the last 3 weeks consist of an internship program in a Goodwill warehouse (Cockrill Bend or Berry Road). (Shared)

Desks, chairs, laptops (instructor and participants), projector, speakers, power strip and extension cords, cleaning supplies, binders/folder, pens, whiteboards and markers, calculators, and name tags

Supplies

NRF curriculum powerpoint slides, WIL paperwork, feedback forms, safety quizzes, trainer and learner guides, and printed sample job requirements.

Stipends

$100 per week
