JENNI PURDY Nothing has pleased Jenni Purdy more than seeing her good friend Kate Bennett take over ownership of the Gold Coast Panache Magazine. For close to 16 years it was her ‘baby’ and she can watch as Kate and her team take the publication to new heights.
“It’s impossible” said my pride. “It’s risky” said my experience. “It’s impossible” said my reasoning. “Give it a try” whispered my heart. Those words describe exactly how I felt with every issue I put together of my former Magazine the ‘GOLD COAST Panache’ magazine. And what a glorious, wonderful, amazing ride it was. We became Australia’s longest running monthly regional publication during the fifteen and a half years I owned and operated the magazine. My job description was simply - “THE BOSS”. During this time due to my passion for the Gold Coast and its people, I
formed so many wonderful business relationships. When I sold the publication in 2009 I continued to do some work for Channel 9’s Sixty Minutes, News Limited’s Sunday Mail and also for good friends of 36 years Kate Bennett and Elizabeth Austin who publish SLIM and Label Magazines. With that long association and history, I was absolutely thrilled to receive a phone call from Kate Bennett informing me that due to the fact it was not being produced anymore and the name was available, would I have an issue if Kate registered the name and produced it? “Not at all,” said I.
Today I have a wonderful, new life in a completely different field and give Kate my total support and blessing, because I know she will put her heart and soul into creating a wonderful new product. Words can’t express how thrilled I am about the relaunch of the magazine I loved so much. So to Kate and the Gold Coast Panache magazine I say, ‘Je lève un verre à ton succès’. Or to translate into English, ‘I raise a glass to your success’… Champagne of course.
