‘Drop in’ at the Heritage Centre Saturday 21st March
L
but nothing beats local knowledge. Please come and share your knowledge of our town and see what the Heritage Centre will be doing this season.
edbury Places is looking forward to welcoming local residents to the Heritage Centre ‘Drop-In’ in Church Lane Ledbury on Saturday 21st March between 10am and 2pm, and talk to volunteers who staff the museum seven days a week for seven months of the year. Refreshments will be provided.
It goes without saying that the building can only be open throughout the season as a result of the efforts of our wonderful band of volunteers. There are over fifty at present but we have a few gaps to fill for the coming season. Support and training are provided and you don’t have to be an expert to play a valuable role at the Heritage Centre.
The Heritage Centre will be opening this year on Saturday 28th March. Last year we had over 25,000 visitors from all parts of the globe. Visitors particularly enjoy the atmosphere of the building, the huge chimney, the construction of the building itself and the friendliness of the volunteers.
If you have time on your hands and are looking to make a very worthwhile contribution to Ledbury and its heritage, please drop in and see us on Saturday 21st March, or ring 01531 633637 for further details.
We also need help from local residents who know lots about the town and how it has changed over the years. Our High Street display has been commented on by many visitors and has local residents walking down memory lane, recognizing businesses that have helped make Ledbury a vibrant town over the years, as well as providing valuable information to us which can be used when the panorama is updated. Following the success of this panorama we have created one for the Homend, but we have gaps and queries. At our drop-in event we'd like to hear from you about the businesses that you remember occupying the Homend in the past. We can show you the information we have, where the gaps are, 52
