Maria Fittipaldi Menarini al vino ci è arrivata quasi per caso. Figlia del fondatore dell’omonimo gruppo farmaceutico, si è ritrovata a un certo punto della vita con un podere a Bolgheri che ha saputo trasformare in 10 curatissimi ettari coltivati a Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Orpicchio, Malbec. Insieme a lei lavorano Carlotta, Giulia, Serena e Valentina, le sue quattro figlie. Da qui il nome, donne Fittipaldi, e una produzione di circa 60mila bottiglie, molte vendute all’estero (Europa, Usa, Australia). Con Magnetic, uscito adesso, i vini sono arrivati a sei, tutti con un denominatore comune: la ricerca di uno stile personale, il rispetto del territorio e dei vigneti. Disegnatrice di gioielli, una collaborazione con lo stilista Ermanno Scervino e per di più astemia. Questo, prima degli ultimi 15 anni passati in mezzo alle vigne di Bolgheri. Qual è stata la scoperta più stupefacente sul vino? Questa esperienza mi ha aperto gli occhi su un mondo fantastico colmo di emozioni, fatto di sapori e profumi dalle molteplici sfumature. E anche di tanta storia. Che stile ha impresso ai suoi vini? Eleganza e convivialità. Vini completi e complessi come il territorio è in grado di dare, ma di facile comprensione e immediatamente godibili. Ci parli dell’ultimo nato, Magnetic, che vino è? Tradizione più innovazione, poiché è fatto in anfore di coccio pesto. Abbiamo scelto il Cabernet Fanc, quello di Bolgheri è uno dei migliori del mondo. Magnetic perché ti rapisce, ti coinvolge e chiede un altro assaggio. Un abbinamento speciale tra una delle sue sei etichette e un piatto che ama? Sono tanti i piatti che amo con il nostro donne Fittipaldi ma, basta una semplice e ottima bistecca con patate al forno per rendermi felice. Cosa significa Bolgheri per lei? Casa, luci, colori, tramonti, microclima… Un paradiso. Maria Fittipaldi Menarini got into the wine business nearly by chance. The daughter of the founder of the Menarini pharmaceutical company, at a certain point in life she found herself the owner of a farm in Bolgheri which she was able to transform into a 10-hectare winery planted with Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Orpicchio and Malbec vineyards. She works with her four daughters Carlotta, Giulia, Serena and Valentina. An all-female management team from which the winery’s name, donne Fittipaldi, derived and a production of about 60 thousand bottles, most of which sold abroad (Europe, USA, Australia). Including Magnetic, the newly-released label, the wines are six in all, all having in common the pursuit of a personal style and a commitment to staying true to the terroir and vineyards. A jewelry designer, you worked with fashion designer Ermanno Scervino and you didn’t even drink. Before, of course, the past 15 years spent in the vineyards of Bolgheri. What was the most amazing thing you learned about wine? This experience awakened me to a fantastic world filled with emotions, flavors and aromas with many nuances. And full of history as well. What style have you imparted on your wines? Elegance and conviviality. Wines as complete and complex as the terroir is able to express, but also easily understandable and immediately enjoyable. Please tell us something about the newborn, Magnetic. Tradition plus innovation, for it is made in coccipesto amphoras. We chose Cabernet Franc, as Bolgheri’s is one of the world’s best. Magnetic because it is enrapturing, engaging and calling for another sip. A special pairing of one of your six wines and one of your favorite dishes? There are a lot of dishes I enjoy pairing with our donne Fittipaldi wine, but an excellent steak with roast potatoes is enough to make me happy. What does Bolgheri represent to you? Home, light, colors, sunsets, microclimate… paradise.
