To learn the words boy and girl and their meaning. Flashcards for the unit, Happy kids (Games), Happy hands (Games), elastic thread.
If you show the hello hand to the boy’s line, only boys have to perform the sentence.
Materials
Student: Hello boy!! Hello girl!!
Playful activities
1 | Revise the new words Boy / Girl using the Happy kids. Ask each student the following question using the puppets.
Teacher: Are you a boy or a girl?
Child: I’m a boy.
2 | Point to a child and ask the rest of the class if he or she is a boy or a girl.
3 | Sit students in a circle and ask boys to stand up, only boys have to stand up, then do the same with girls, repeat the action several times and do it faster to turn the activity funnier.
4 | Divide the class into two lines, one will be for boys and the other one for girls. Stand up in front of the lines and show them one of the Happy hands (hello or bye bye) students will produce a sentence according to the big hand you show.
5 | Place the flashcards on the board and ask each student to stand up and touch the mentioned one.

Page 11 - Color and cut
Ask students to color the masks, then you will have to cut them and place some elastic thread. Ask students to wear the mask and say “I’m a boy/girl”. They can also guess who is behind the mask.
Teacher: Who is she/ he?
Children: She is Maria.
