Artist of Life,

Drawing from Within by Patti Lightflower

A Journey of Creative Collaboration by Patti Lightflower Welcome! Come in and join us in this newly forming creative heart space! Did you know that expressing yourself creatively is healing both emotionally and mentally? It can also fulfill a need to express ourselves physically in a material way. Why do we create? Perhaps this is one of the ways we are “made in God’s image” and by tapping into this power of creation we also open the door to other powers such as the healing power of expressing our emotions via a creative channel. A doorway to the heart and soul awaits you. Ride along or join in with us on an adventure into a yet to be created but carefully dreamed and envisioned journey. Leave all worries of inadequacies behind, we’ll teach and learn along the way. No skills are needed, this is heart work, and you already have all it takes for drawing from a creative life force within. Apron Strings, Wings & Things Aprons are handy for people like me whose first instinct is to absentmindedly reach for something I’m wearing to dry my hands or wipe off messy food, paint or sticky glue from my fingers. I’ve found myself drawn to aprons for a number of years, collecting images and ideas along with acquiring vintage patterns. Over the past year or two, ideas have been springing up in my head and all around me inspiring a vision of a creative journey involving making an apron from recycled clothing and exploring self and techniques. As myself as others collaborate to be your tour guides, we’ll explore together creative possibilities in this guided creative journey. Together we’ll make an apron to cover ourselves embellished in ways yet to be imagined, with treasures, findings, embroidered wings (if you like), pockets and strings to hold it all together.

You’ll need for this project one oversized, heavy cotton, long sleeve, work shirt. White or light blue denim would work best. Most of the other items you’ll need for getting started you may already have. We’ll head down this creative path together for the coming year with new guidelines and suggestions in each issue. At year’s end you’ll have created a protective garment into which you’ve poured your heart and soul. About the Author: Patti Lightflower is a Professional Hand Analyst practicing in the greater Cincinnati area for over three decades. Her experience reading hands at corporate events, social gatherings as well as in depth private sessions, coupled with her love of research and science led to understanding how our hands have features that combine uniquely in each individual to tell our stories. As we develop from genetic code, along with how our experiences shape us, our preferences and personalities are inscribed into our hands. Want to learn to read hands? Patti offers classes and workshops teaching the basic and advanced methods of reading hands which include how science is now able to connect our sense of touch to our emotional selves. We store our experiences in our bodies, our hands hold these stories. Patti reads hands fluently.
