THE RHYTHM OF THE BUTTERFLY Contemporary Poetry Anthology by Santosh Kumar Biswa
My guilt: My generation Worried I am, Oh! My son’s son, And your sons too. The inundation of tears I watch, In you and all, though you’re filled, With riches and your possessions. Evil doer, I am, Out of my greed you’re ruined, And your generation yet to occur. For my own sake, I made you barren, Bald I made, even my mother, That’s why she can’t feed you any more, Hence, I regret my intentional deeds. Oh! Nightingale, I proclaim to you, Toss along the message to them if you live, And safeguard this little sapling, after I exit, Without rest, as I set it on the soil.
