Welcome to the Aalto University School of Business and, above all, welcome to KY! I’m certain that your next few years will be unforgettable in plenty of ways. Our task at KY is to create the best possible conditions for unique student life, and you as new members of our community play a major role in this. Our office, Espilä, works as the base of KY and is located just next to the new main building of Aalto School of Business. The office functions as the core of our activities, with volunteers and paid employees arranging a variety of activities to all of our members. As the Executive Director, my main responsibility is to keep our cogs well oiled in the office and make sure that everything runs smoothly. I’m just one of the employees – we range from Communications Coordinator to Culture Producer. Should you need to get a reservation to our premises, buy some KY Products or just help in general, we are here to help. In the following pages, you can see that each employee has their own role in the office. Besides the employees, our board members also have their own responsibilities, so we are a surprisingly big group! I’m quite certain that most of the faces will become familiar to you in the near future. Who knows – perhaps you will find yourself as a member of the KY Office one day! Community aspect is one of the biggest benefits of KY. You can do almost anything here – from joining one of the existing associations to founding a new one, the possibilities are limitless. On top of our clubs, subcommittees and subject clubs, committees bring their own vital touch to the possibilities of volunteering at KY. Whether you are interested in music, sports, wellbeing or organizing parties, there truly is something for everybody! Regardless of how you decide to use your years at KY, what matters for us is that you are a kylteri and you are the reason why we exist. Come say hi to the office and enjoy the following years.
