SURRENDER AND HAVE FAITH
The challenge is how you handle things when issues arise. This is when a person’s character can shine. You just must be willing to take the time and make the necessary changes to turn things around. I had a massive heart attack when I was 51 and stopped breathing for three minutes. Initially there was a big mental hurdle that I had to overcome—the fear that it would happen again. Robin and my doctors were clear and told me to get up and start living life again. I have learned not to spend time looking back. Do whatever it is you are doing right now with purpose and intent … cultivate your faith and count your blessings daily. FROM BUSINESS SUIT TO BATHING SUIT
I swam competitively growing up and still enjoy swimming a few miles per week. We have been fortunate to travel all over the world. We have been to Italy, France, Sweden, Denmark, Russia, South Africa, England, and several other countries. I would say Italy is our favorite country, and Tuscany would be our favorite region of Italy. MY PASSIONS, MY LOVES
Our family, our dogs, and being successful in life are what I’m passionate about. Whether it is at our house on Lake Norman or when we are on a family vacation, I enjoy working hard and playing hard and having any combination of our kids around to share it all with. WRITER LESLIE OGLE

SPOILER ALERT:
Men and women are different. Ok, so maybe that fact didn’t really surprise you. After all, it’s been 27 years since John Gray popularized the idea that men are from Mars and women are from Venus. And as much as we love sharing women’s stories, we decided it was time to lend the Martians of LKN our ear, too. This month we share the perspectives of Jack Salzman of Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

A WINNING WAY
Whether it is in business or in my personal life I enjoy putting in whatever effort is required to win and be successful. The great recession of 2008 was our biggest professional obstacle and overcoming everything that came our way from that was certainly an enormous challenge; but failing was not an option, so we worked harder and made it through without laying off one employee. Little did we know how it would prepare us for surviving Covid.
I grew up in Sarasota, Florida, and graduated from Auburn University and Nova Southeastern Law School. I met Robin—my wife, better half, and love of my life—when she was working in radio and called on my business to advertise with her radio station. She was a vice president and market manager for CBS Radio and was recognized as Market Manager of the Year by her company. After we were married, she was gracious enough to retire and help me pursue my dream of owning a car dealership. We have worked side-by-side since 2003 and have three grown children and eight grandchildren! LEADERSHIP AT THE DEALERSHIP
My wife Robin inspires me. She is the most giving person I have ever met. We laugh that she pushes me to sell more cars so she can give more money away to all the nonprofits we work with. There’s no doubt we wouldn’t have achieved the success we have without her leadership at work, at home, and within the community as the kind-hearted philanthropist that she is. w
