Arena: de Norte a Sur Sand: from North to South

Acompáñame en este viaje, capturando en película fotográfica: nuestro país a través de sus granos de arena. Empezando en el norte, región donde nací, encontramos a Cabo San Lucas. Para muchos extranjeros, la puerta de entrada a México. Muchos piensan que las playas más bonitas son las del Caribe, pero en Baja California Sur y en Cabo San Lucas, también brillan los granos con un sol resplandeciente y un color blanco que hace ver el agua de color turquesa.

Starting in the north, the region where I was born, we find Cabo San Lucas. For many foreigners, the gateway to Mexico. Many think that the most beautiful beaches are the ones in the Caribbean, but in Baja California Sur and Cabo San Lucas, the grains also shine with a dazzling sun and a white color that makes the water look turquoise.

El estado de Nayarit tiene un mar misterioso, rodeado de jungla en medio de la nada. No hay pueblos, ni carreteras, solamente las olas y las rocas. Su arena es fría e indiferente. Es la naturaleza misma.

En el oeste de México se encuentra Jalisco, un lugar para encontrar paz. Su arena es tersa y apacible. No pensamos en sol, arena y mar al hablar de este estado del país, pero ahí tenemos algunas de nuestras playas más bellas, sin duda un secreto bien guardado. La arena de Jalisco percibe unos atardeceres inigualables.

The state of Nayarit has a mysterious sea, surrounded by jungle in the middle of nowhere. There are no towns, no roads, just waves and rocks. Its sand is cold and indifferent. It is nature itself.

In the west of Mexico is Jalisco, a place to find peace. Its sand is smooth and peaceful. We don't think of sun, sand and sea when talking about this state of the country, but there we have some of our most beautiful beaches, without a doubt a well-kept secret. The sand of Jalisco perceives incomparable sunsets.

En Oaxaca la arena es tan variada como la comida. De la arena clara y fina de Carrizalillo en Puerto Escondido a los granos densos y oscuros de Mermejita; este estado tiene todos los contrastes de la misma naturaleza. Zipolite nos da lo que ninguna otra playa en México, el disfrutar la arena en sintonía con la pureza de la naturaleza. Oaxaca es un lugar libre y mágico que representa a nuestro país como ningún otro. Su arena es tan pura como su vibra.

In Oaxaca the sand is as varied as the food. From the light and fine sand of Carrizalillo in Puerto Escondido to the dense and dark grains of Mermejita; this state has all contrasts of nature itself. Zipolite gives us what no other beach in Mexico does, to enjoy the sand in tune with the purity of nature. Oaxaca is a free and magical place that represents our country like no other. Its sand is as pure as its vibe.

En la región sureste de México se localiza Yucatán que tiene una gran variedad de arenas en sus 378 km de playa desde Celestún hasta El Cuyo. La arena de Yucatán es vivaz, cálida y energética. Sus playas son profundas y serenas. Muchos conocen Holbox, pero pocos las paradisíacas arenas de su vecino El Cuyo. Para mí, el destino número 1 de la Península Yucateca. La arena más clara seguramente es la de Sisal, una playa relajada que goza de un malecón extenso con playas profundas que permiten apreciar los variados colores del mar yucateco. La arena más blanca de México sin lugar a dudas está en Quintana Roo. Mundialmente reconocida por el azul turquesa de sus aguas, las playas quintanarroenses gozan de esa arena exquisita que hace brillar nuestras fotografías.

Yucatán is located in the southeast region of Mexico, which has a wide variety of sands on its 378 km of beach from Celestún to El Cuyo. The Yucatan sand is lively, warm and energetic. Its beaches are deep and serene. Many know Holbox, but few know the paradisiacal sands of its neighbor El Cuyo. For me, the number 1 destination in the Yucatan Peninsula. The clearest sand is surely the one in Sisal, a relaxed beach that enjoys an extensive boardwalk with deep beaches that allow you to appreciate the varied colors of the Yucatecan Sea. The whitest sand in Mexico without a doubt is in Quintana Roo. World renowned for the turquoise blue of its waters, the beaches of Quintana Roo enjoy that exquisite sand that makes our photographs shine.
