The College started its fall semester off with a new and exciting option in course delivery – synchronous classes, where students will have the opportunity to come to campus for instruction or they can log on and participate in live lectures from anywhere.

“Faculty will still be teaching in the classroom just like they usually do, while others will be accessing the class remotely,” Dr. Rusty Hunt said. “This type of delivery will change the way we deliver programs in higher education.” Synchronous learning will be for students taking general education courses like English and Psychology.

Hunt said the College’s “smart” classrooms in the Waller Building are complete with smart boards, cameras, high definition sound and microphones, and new black glass boards with neon markers for better visibility on camera. “We are providing the best, quality, synchronous experience for our students. If you want to attend classes online, but miss the live in-class experience, synchronous classes is the best of both worlds.”

Whether on campus or not, students are responsible to meet
