He’s rarely off our TV screens, but at new we still can’t get enough of Rylan Clark-Neal, whose latest project is a reboot of 90s hit Ready Steady Cook! The word “icon” is overused these days, but there’s no better term to describe June Brown’s legendary EastEnders character Dot Cotton. Alongside Peggy Mitchell, Pat Butcher and Dirty Den, Dot was an Albert Square staple who delighted fans for decades with her witty one-liners and unmistakable look – perfectly set burgundy-tinged barnet, beige mac and, of course, that ever-present fag! So we were gutted to hear the actress has quit the show after a staggering 35 years of service. “I’ve left for good,” she revealed. “I’ve sent her off to Ireland and that’s where she’ll stay.” Despite being best known for a comedy catchphrase or two (“Ooh, I say!”, “I ain’t one to gossip,” and “Not my Nick!” being our faves), over the years Dot’s storylines have taken in hard-hitting issues including HIV, cancer and her on-screen son Nick Cotton’s heroin addiction.

The star clearly thought long and hard about her decision to quit and last week said that leaving Dot behind felt like losing a loved one. “I was feeling down a few days ago,” the actress said. “I thought, ‘What’s the matter? Why do I feel so sad?’ It’s almost as if I’ve been bereaved.” Happily for June, EastEnders bosses say the “door remains open” for her to return, so if she does find retirement at 93 a little boring, she could always go back for another stroll around the Square!

aroline Flack’s heartbroken mother has shed light on the troubled star’s state of mind ahead of her devastating decision to take her own life. The TV presenter seemed to spiral out of control following a domestic dispute with boyfriend Lewis Burton on 12 December, which led to her being charged with assault by beating. Christine explained she wanted everyone to know the truth about the difficult times her daughter endured, so she released an unpublished Instagram post Caroline – who she affectionately called Carrie – had written two weeks before her untimely death. “Carrie sent me this message at the end of January, but was told not to post it by advisers. EMOTIONAL BREAKDOWN Following the assault charge, Caroline became the target of cruel internet trolls. “Within 24 hours my whole world and future was swept from under my feet and all the walls that I had taken so long to build around me collapsed,” the TV favourite wrote in her statement. “I am suddenly on a different kind of stage and everyone is watching it happen. I have always taken responsibility for what happened that night. Even on the night. But the truth is… It was an accident.” Caroline went on to explain that she had been in the midst of her own personal turmoil prior to her row with former tennis professional Lewis. “I’ve been having some sort of emotional breakdown for a very long time,” Caroline continued. “But I am not a domestic abuser. “We had an argument and an accident happened. She also had many struggles. I am not going to pretend she was perfect. Caroline loved to love, that’s all she wanted.” Her close friend, TV producer Mollie Grosberg – who has since taken in Caroline’s beloved French bulldog Ruby – wrote that the presenter “deserves a million tributes and more”. “Carrie always had a smile on her face, a naughty laugh and her heart open wide,” Mollie explained. “When she let you in, you were the luckiest and she taught me to love everyone and forgive everyone. She forgave so easily and loved so hard and I’ll never ever stop loving her.” Another friend, celebrity stylist Lou Teasdale, was staying with Caroline the night before the star killed herself. According to reports, Caroline assured Lou it would be OK to leave her alone while she went to the shops, but took her own life after her friend had left. Lou wrote on Instagram, “I hope you are at peace now.” Another of Caroline’s closest friends, writer Dawn O’Porter, said that she and her husband, actor Chris O’Dowd, were distraught over her death. “Chris and I are so devastated. We just cry and cry. We can’t stop. We loved her so much,” she explained. “I feel like I’ll never stop crying.” Joel Cooper

NEWSFLASH
I had felt suicidal, but I know that can be triggering, so I used the phrase “nervous breakdown” instead. I knew it must have been serious for her to reach out to me because we were in a different league showbiz-wise. She’s up there, I’m down here. I may be a household name, but I’m nowhere near the calibre of star she was. So now I ask myself, why didn’t I push more? Why didn’t I follow up the conversation after those initial few messages? Why was I so scared of looking like a cling-on that I didn’t ask her to meet up so we could talk some more? I was always very fond of Caroline. By no means am I pretending to be one of her best friends, but we were in the industry at the same time and I’d see her around on the circuit. She’d always come over at events and say hi and was always so bubbly and lovely. So much so that you’d never have looked at her and thought she had mental health problems, which goes to show a smile can disguise so much pain. What happened between Caroline and her boyfriend that fateful night may well have been a tragic mistake or, as she said herself in her previously unseen Insta post, an accident. And yet she was judged so harshly for it. You couldn’t turn on Twitter without seeing horrible remarks about her – it reminded me of the backlash I received after that infamous This Morning incident. I was filmed slurring my words, thanks to my bipolar medication, and as a result I was labelled an alcoholic and a “car crash”. Facebook was big back then and so many people were sharing horrible posts about me on there. Nobody knew, but because of that I felt so low I wanted to die. My psychiatrist told me, “Be honest with
the public about your previous drink problems, be open about your past drug issues – but do not let anyone know you have mental health issues. What theyy d.” can’t see, they can’t understand.” And in a way he was right, because no one took it seriouslyy when I said it was my condition that caused me to react that way on TV. And mud sticks. And that’s 100 per cent what happened to Caroline. Nobody allowed her to explain herself or talk about her mistake, they just said she’d beaten up her boyfriend. It’s no wonder she felt so helpless. We live in a society where people like watching others crumble because it makes them feel better about their own lives. It makes them realise their lives aren’t so shit after all. We all need to practisee what we preach and be kinder to tal one another. Be aware of mental health issues and don’t dismisss them. People are struggling. It nd. really is very simple: just be kind. e saved People ask me if I could have Caroline, but I can’t put that on myself. m just a That wouldn’t be fair on me. I’m small person in a much bigger story. I imagine she’d be mortified by the outpouring of grief and anger in the wake of her death, simply because she seemed so private. But at the same time I’m sure she’d be proud that her name has opened up a huge conversation about mental health and bullying. I know how I’ll remember her – as that bubbly, gorgeous girl walking in slow motion into the Love Island villa. She will be so missed.

EXCLUSIVE
‘Meet Sadie – my little dreamboat!’ Casey Batchelor introduces her newborn daughter Sadie, opens up about juggling two children and reveals why she’s put her wedding plans on hold
W
e love babies here at new, so we were very excited when Casey Batchelor invited us over to meet her latest bundle of joy, daughter Sadie. Opening the door at her beautiful Hertfordshire home, you wouldn’t believe Casey, 35, had given birth in January – she looks amazing. “I’m feeling good, but tired. It’s the first time I’ve had make-up on,” she laughs as she gets glammed up for our shoot. The Celebrity Big Brother star is still recovering from a C-section, something she planned following the “traumatic” birth of her eldest daughter Florence in May 2018. “I had two completely different births,” she says. “The first time you don’t know what to expect and sleep deprivation is a massive thing, but now I know it’s coming and I’m used to it, so it’s not so bad.” Adorable Sadie, who weighed 8lb 2oz, has inherited Casey’s dark hair and the former model turned fitness guru is delighted to have her “mini-me”. She is open about the fact that Florence, who is the spit of Casey’s fiancé Dane Goodson, 33, is struggling with the family’s new addition. “She’s all for Dane,” Casey reveals. “But she’s coming around to the idea of Sadie. “It’s so cute to have two girls. It’s so nice they’ve got each other, because I never had a sister. The Goodson sisters – sounds like The Goodfellas!”
16
Here, Casey opens up about juggling two children under the age of two, why she will take her time in losing her baby weight and getting back on TV in 2020… Hi Casey! How’s life now that baby Sadie is part of the family? I was worried, but Sadie is a little
dreamboat. She sleeps, whereas Florence didn’t. Some nights I’d get two or three hours a night, but with Sadie I’m getting a good five or six. Sadie is a lovely name. Where did it come from? When I find a name that I like, I stick with it. I’ve stuck with
Sadie since I was three months pregnant. I like old-fashioned names. My friend’s daughter is called Farrah, like Farrah Fawcett, and then I was thinking of some actresses and I thought of Sadie Frost. I was like, “Oh, I like Sadie!” Dane liked it too. How was the birth? I was umming and ahhing a lot throughout the pregnancy over whether to have a natural birth or a Caesarean. I decided to have a C-section because I had a traumatic time with Florence where everything went wrong. They punctured my spine, I had forceps and they cut me. This time was much calmer and more relaxed and everything has been so much nicer. How did you feel when you held Sadie for the first time? It was so nice. The nicest thing was her dark hair, whereas Florence came out quite fair. Everyone says Sadie looks like me, which is nice as Florence is a mini Dane. Did you have the traditional post-birth tea and toast? At first I kept heaving. When I first came out [of theatre] they put so many drugs and painkillers and morphine in me I actually felt like I was on a different planet. I kept saying to Dane, “That sign over there is moving!” I felt really good and then a bit groggy and then I had tea and toast. How did having a Caesarean compare to a natural birth? I couldn’t feel my legs for ages this time. It was surreal being in the theatre – there were about 15
‘Everyone says Sadie looks like me, which is nice as Florence is a mini Dane’ people in there. I remember they had Bob Marley on. When I was giving birth to Florence I was pushing and people were down there, but you just don’t care. This time I wasn’t in pain, but I was like, “There are lots of people looking at my nun.” I hadn’t shaved! The first time was gross, but this time people were looking at my hairy nunnie! [Laughs] Ha! Have you had much pain during your recovery? I’ve healed quite well. Obviously I’ve not been able to pick up Florence, which means she’s been all over Dane. She doesn’t
understand, either, which has made her go to Dane even more and ignore me. So has Florence become a daddy’s girl now? She’s all for Dane and she won’t let him put her down. It’s good, but I’m worried about when Dane goes back to work. Hopefully she’ll love me again. How is Florence coping with having a little sister? She’s just been ignoring the baby, really. At first we put the baby in front of her and she turned her face and didn’t want to look at her. But she did something
17
really sweet yesterday. She’s never had a dummy, but she nicked the dummy out of Sadie’s mouth, put it back in her mouth then tapped her on the head and walked away. I’m really excited to see them play together. It sounds like Florence might be coming around to the idea of having a sibling… Yeah. We’re trying to do extra stuff with Florence and take her out to places, just to make sure she doesn’t feel left out. It’s been quite good that people coming over have been bringing Florence a present as well.
18
Aw! Is Flo talking much now? She’s going “mama”, “dada”, but no sentences or anything. I’m sure when she starts she won’t shut up, so I’m quite happy that she doesn’t speak yet! Are you breastfeeding? I breastfed for the first few days and now Sadie’s on the bottle. I like breastfeeding, but I like the bottle too as I know how much she’s having. Florence lost a lot of weight when I breastfed her. I think where I’ve had a breast reduction a lot of my ducts don’t work. I didn’t want to risk that again with Sadie.
Are you nervous about juggling two children? I don’t know what I’m going to do the first day I have both the kids on my own! With one I had time to sit down, but I don’t think I’m going to have any time to now. I won’t have time to do anything. My house is going to be a permanent mess. You said before you suffer from mum guilt. How will you deal with that now? I’m going to try to manage it differently this time. With Florence, I didn’t have help and I tried to work and look after her
at the same time, which is where the mum guilt came from. I’d put her on a play mat and just leave her while I worked. Now I have my mum with me two days a week and I’m going to start Florence at a nursery a couple of mornings. When my mum’s here I’m going to work and when she’s not here I’m going to be with the kids. I think I’ve learnt a lot. Nobody knows what to do until you have children. You wing it every day. Would you like more? It would be nice, but I definitely need some time to go out with the girls and go on holidays. I also think it’s really important to do holidays and date nights without the kids. That’s what we didn’t do enough of the first time around, having time for just us. I feel like you can really lose your relationship and that’s why a lot of relationships crumble when you have children. Sleep deprivation is massive. A lot of people split up when they have children because it’s hard work. And women can get really resentful of men. They go back to work and get their life back, while women don’t. Did you feel any resentment towards Dane? I did last time. But not this time because Sadie’s sleeping! Has Dane been helping with Sadie during the night? [Laughs] No. Dane sleeps in our bed and I’m in the spare bed. Dane’s got Florence because sometimes she wakes up in the night. That’s the deal. He has to get up with Florence and I’ve got the baby. How are your wedding plans coming along? Well, if we do have more children I’d rather have them all there… If I just had Sadie and Florence there and then had some more children it wouldn’t be fair. How would you describe your dream wedding? I keep changing my mind. I definitely want to go abroad. I don’t know if I want a formal sit-down dinner – it’s so boring. I’d just have a massive party. What advice would you give to mums who’ve recently had a baby and want to get back into fitness? Take it slowly because your body has just gone through a massive transformation and your hormones are everywhere. People think you can get back into shape really quickly, but it took nine months to grow a baby, so it takes time for your

body to go back. My hips are wide at the moment and my belly still hasn’t gone down. I still look like I’m pregnant! Did you put on a lot of weight? I put on four and a half stone with Florence, but this time I put on just over three. I was craving sweet things, but I also kept getting the urge to lick concrete, like the grout in the shower. Every time I was in the shower I kept looking at it, tempted. Your body’s craving the salts and minerals. You’ve said before that Dane struggled with having a newborn. How’s he been this time around? Much better. Because I was so ill the first time, he got thrown in at the deep end having to do everything. This time, because I’m not ill, it’s just so much nicer. Has having kids made you closer? Definitely. We were close anyway, but when you have kids you either create a great bond or you hate each other and split up. Don’t get me wrong, there were times when I hated him, but we’re great. I feel like having another child makes you more of a family.
Have you had any messages from your friends Sam Faiers or Luisa Zissman? Yeah, they sent messages of congrats, which is really nice. I’ve limited my visitors this time round. And is your mate Vicky Pattison coming over to see the baby? Yes, she is. She texted me when I was due, because her sister was due the day after me.
You’ll be moving into your new family home soon. Are you excited? Hopefully it’ll be our forever home and we want to do some work to it. I really can’t wait to create the nurseries – they’re what I’m most excited about. Are there any TV plans in the pipeline for you? There are a couple of things,
but I’m not allowed to talk about them yet! And do you have any other plans for 2020? I would like to build on my Yoga Blitz plan, which I really love. The TV work would be great if it comes off and I’d really like to go on some girls’ holidays too! GEMMA MCCARTNEY
‘I GOT CALLED A WHALE WHILE I WAS PREGNANT – IT’S ABUSE’ I got trolled during my pregnancy with Sadie because I got so big. I was called an “oil rig” and was told, “You need to go down the gym and lose some weight.” I had it while I was pregnant with Florence too – I got called a “whale that needs to be harpooned”. I’m lucky I’ve got
such a great support system with Dane and my family. It’s never nice and it’s verbal abuse, but how do you monitor it? Instagram was going to turn off all comments, If they did, it would mean a lot less trolling. As a mum, social media worries me for my daughters. But by the time they’re older it’s
not going to be Instagram any more, it’s probably going to be something else. Dane doesn’t like me posting much on social media, but I do think it’s the world we’re living in. I totally back new’s Turn Off Trolls campaign – we need to do something to make it stop.

THEN AND NOW
t’s been a decade since the likes of Amy Childs, Mark Wright, Lauren Goodger and Sam Faiers burst onto our screens on reality show The Only Way Is Essex. And now, 10 years after their countless spray tans, tantrums and vajazzles caught the nation’s attention, some of the original cast are set to make an epic return for an anniversary special later this year. But with Mark, 33, reportedly spearheading the highly anticipated reunion, new can reveal one of the show’s most iconic cast members could have a battle on her hands when it comes to bagging a role in the series – his former fiancée Lauren Goodger. The pair split in 2012 after dating on and off for 11 years, yet
tensions still seem to be running high between them as Lauren made a thinly veiled dig at her ex on Instagram recently when she referenced the “unlucky bastards who lost us”. And now a source close to Lauren has told new she would be devastated if their history means she can’t be part of the homecoming. “Lauren would be heartbroken if she wasn’t on the TOWIE reunion,” our insider said. “She was one of the original cast members and gave her whole life to that show. Even the Duchess of Cambridge said Lauren was her favourite. Lauren’s moved on from Mark and wishes him the best.” Our source added that Lauren brought more to the show than just drama with her former flame. “Lauren’s time on the show

hey only tied the knot back in August, but X Factor: Celebrity star Ben Foden and his wife Jackie now have another reason to celebrate – a baby’s on the way! The couple set tongues wagging when Jackie uploaded a throwback snap of them skiing in America over Christmas, in which she appeared to have a small bump. She captioned the shot, “Missing my Benny while he’s in Vegas and reminiscing about what a beautiful Christmas we had.” And it wasn’t long before her followers began to wonder if she’s expecting. “Is that a bump or am I seeing things,” one asked, while another wrote, “Congratulations,” alongside a love heart emoji. Last week a source confirmed the happy news, saying, “Ben and Jackie are over the moon. They’re so excited to become Ben with Aoife parents together for the first time and Tadhg and are looking forward to starting their new lives as a family.” Jackie previously hinted she and Ben could soon have an announcement to make by liking a comment which read, “Lovely lady humps.” “Jackie’s made no secret of wanting to be a mum in the past,” a source close to the couple told new. “After getting married last year, this would be pointy stones in her shoes, but we the icing on the cake for them.” persevered, it was intense but we The pair got married last summer in America following a whirlwind romance, made it through,” she wrote. Rylan Clark-Neal opens up about the new series of Ready Steady Cook

ylan Clark-Neal is one of the most popular faces on TV right now. After making his debut on Supermarket Sweep last year, the 31-year-old is hosting the reboot of another 90s telly favourite Ready Steady Cook. When we meet up with him at the BBC’s Broadcasting House, even he can’t believe just how far he’s come since his iconic X Factor appearance in 2012. “It’s crazy,” Rylan tells us. “Our producer, Cat, was the very first face I saw at my audition with my long blond hair. Fast-forward eight years and we’re standing in Glasgow filming the last show for Ready Steady Cook!” Along with a new host, the show, which was last on our screens 10 years ago, will feature five new chefs – Mike Reid, Romy Gill, Akis Petretzikis, Ellis Barrie and Anna Haugh. As we watch a sneak preview clip with Rylan, he chats to new

about getting advice from former hosts Fern Britton and Ainsley Harriott and being able to pick and choose his jobs…
Hi Rylan! Did you enjoy filming Ready Steady Cook? We had the best fun. It’s quite rare to work on a show where every single person just got it. It was so lovely. It didn’t feel like work. What do you love most about the show? It doesn’t matter who you are, you feel like you could be in the Ready Steady Cook kitchen. With this show, it doesn’t matter where you live, where you come from, how old you are, what you look like or what your cooking skills are like. We had people who couldn’t even crack an egg! What were the contestants like? I think the youngest contestant was about 20 and our oldest was about 84. We had a huge age range and every single crosssection of society you can imagine. We had our first blind contestant, Alex. The first thought I had when they said a blind contestant was coming on was, ignorantly, “How is he going to get on with the chopping and the gas hob? Is it going to be dangerous?” But absolutely not. There are little things that we learnt from him and viewers will learn as well. What are your memories from the original show? It was on throughout my school years, so that Original host Ainsley 4.30pm marker was just has been supportive getting home from school

and being like, “Oh, dinner soon! Ready Steady Cook’s on!” Did you speak to Fern or Ainsley beforehand? The first person I rang was Fern and the second was Ainsley. They were both so lovely. They told me to make it my own. They’re tough acts to follow, but they’ve both been supportive. Did you feel pressure to do a good job? Yeah, there was pressure for all of us, but it was lifted before we started filming. We had a test day in a cookery kitchen, where we all met for the first time, and within 10 minutes all of that pressure had gone. I’ve worked with a lot of chefs over the years and the worry for me was that they can have a bit of an ego, but every single one of the chefs is lovely. How did your experience on Celebrity MasterChef [Rylan reached the final in 2015] prepare you for this? I think it helped get me to the right level. So for argument’s sake, if one of the chefs said to me, “Can

you chuck that in the blender?” I knew that the blade has got to be pushed down because blenders are quite difficult sometimes. So it’s just those little things. Some things do go wrong, but my job is to try to salvage it as much as possible. Were there any dramas along the way? We all slept with each other! [Laughs] No, there was always
a worry with the time. There were times when I would even sit there and be like, “Guys, I don’t think we’re going to get this done. It’s not going to happen.” But somehow, and I wish I could say it was the magic of telly, it just happened. Have you been inspired to try anything yourself at home? into houmous! [Laughs]. And I can’t believe how quickly crispy kale. Kale is so bland and you can make a chapatti everyone’s like, “Oh, bread. ‘I’m lucky – I only say yes to stuff I really want to do’ Would you say this is more fun than Supermarket Sweep? Don’t ask me to choose between my children! They’re two very different shows. This new Ready Steady Cook is everything I think people loved about the old version, mixed with this new warmth. That’s not saying the old version wasn’t warm, but there’s no hierarchy on this show. Yes, there are chefs, yes, there’s a host and there are contestants, but there are eight people in that kitchen and we all just muck in.
You’re now king of the TV reboot! Are there any other shows you want to present? I’ve done the two I wanted to do. I’m lucky that I’m in that position where I can say no, so I only say yes to stuff I really want to do. I even put on my personal Facebook page the other day that I’m living my best life! I’ve got the two classics that I love. Are you at full capacity now? I don’t know my own name! [Laughs]. I’m in a very good place. So is what you’re doing now better than winning The X Factor? I know where my bread is buttered! Or where my houmous is made… We’re all very lucky and we hope everyone enjoys it. BIRTHDAY GIRL It’s been a tough and reflective week and it made me want to squeeze my loved ones that little bit tighter. So I made sure Heidi got an enormous cuddle on her 13th birthday last Thursday. She had a great time – we bought her an iPhone as a present and took her out for a special breakfast and then to the cinema. I can’t believe Heidi’s a teenager now – she doesn’t look old enough! I think she’s going to be a late bloomer as she’s still very small. In fact, she’s the absolute image of my mum Sue when she was younger. Same looks, same build… you can see where those genes went!
Sharon Osbourne’s new hair reminds me of Meryl Streep’s character, Miranda Priestly, in The Devil Wears Prada. It’s all I think of when I look at her! Don’t get me wrong, I loved Sharon’s iconic red do – it warmed her face. But I think this new platinum look really suits her. She’s a prime example of a woman ageing gracefully. Mind you, she easily looks 20 years younger than 67. I recently tl shared h d a cheeky h k postt off Ryan and myself working out. It always helps to laugh in sad times and seeing as we genuinely do have a giggle when we train together, I thought it was a sweet thing to do. Seriously, how lucky am I to have a man who helps me look and feel my best?!
STRONG MAN
TATT’S ENOUGH!
I was shocked to see Olympian Victoria Pendleton discuss her tattoo trolling at the hands of an old lady. Apparently this woman approached her in the street to tell her that her new sleeve tattoos “weren’t very ladylike”. Er, sorry love, but it’s not exactly ladylike to accost someone in the street with an opinion they didn’t ask for. I love tattoos and I think Vic looks fantastic – in fact I’m jealous and now I want to get a sleeve done too. As we should all have learnt lately, there’s no point in bullying someone just because you don’t agree with their choices. Victoria, you know it already, but let me reiterate – you look fantastic!

Seeing Sharon’s big transformation makes me pine for my pink hair. I had it done again recently but it didn’t last very long, which is a shame because I love feeling pretty in pink. I always feel more youthful and fun with it, so I think a trip back to the salon is in order.
I RELATE TO KATE
It was refreshing, if a little unexpected, to see the Duchess of Cambridge featuring on a podcast about motherhood, but I thought she came across really well. She appeared on Giovanna Fletcher’s show Happy Mum, Happy Baby and discussed mum guilt and how “terrifying” it was to have her first baby. Kate, I can totally relate to that! There are so many things I did with Molly that I wouldn’t do now. For instance, dressing babies in designer clothes when they end up growing out of them within weeks, or spending loads on presents they’ll never remember. Plus, I recall feeling so guilty about leaving her to go to work, but by the time I had five kids I was begging to leave the house for a break!

eality star Ferne McCann has been busier than ever over the past few months. Not only is she juggling being a single mum to her two-year-old daughter Sunday with a blossoming new romance (more on that later!), but she is also shooting her hit TV show Ferne McCann: First Time Mum. When we last chatted to the former TOWIE star back in December, she revealed there was a new man in her life. But the mum-of-one – whose ex Arthur Collins is serving 20 years in prison for a nightclub acid attack – insisted it was “early days”. So when we sit down for a catch-up with Ferne, 29, at London’s swanky Charlotte Street Hotel, we’re itching to find out how things are going with her mystery fella, if she’s ready to reveal his identity to the world and – on a rather different note – why she wants women to do their pelvic floor exercises…
30
Hi Ferne! Last time we spoke you mentioned you were seeing someone. How’s that going? It’s going really good. It’ll be on the show, so you’ll have to tune into the next season of First Time Mum. Rest assured, we will! So would you say you’re in love? [Laughs] I think you
can probably see – I have the biggest smile on my face. Is it true that your mystery man is City trader Albie Gibbs? You’ll have to wait to find out! But I’m very happy. I love love. How is Sunday doing? She’s so good – she’s such a happy little soul. We call her Miss Sunday. She’s got so much independence and she knows what she wants. It’s very Sunday tunnel vision. It’s her way or the highway. Has she hit any new milestones? She’s saying more and more words and stringing sentences together. Recently she went, “Mummy, it’s very early,” because she must’ve heard me say it once when it was 5 o’clock in the morning, and I said, “It’s very early, Sunday, go back to sleep.” She says it every morning now. She’s like, “Mummy, it’s
very early,” and I’m like, “It is, Sunday, isn’t it?” Bless! Does she have similar personality traits to you? Naturally she picks up things that I do, but I like to go with the flow, whereas if she has an idea in her head she just wants it. I love the fact I’ve had a daughter. I’m inspired by strong, formidable women and that’s exactly how I want to raise her. I want her to feel like there’s no dream too big and the possibilities and opportunities are endless. You’ve got to work hard and go for it. Do you ever feel mum guilt when you have to leave her? God, yeah! I don’t think mum guilt is ever going to leave you. Not so much with work because nursery was the best decision I’ve ever made, but I get mum guilt sometimes if I’m away for a few nights or when I’m enjoying myself. I have a little moment and I’m like, “Aaah! Should I be having so much fun?” Do you love that you’ll have all the footage of Sunday from First Time Mum to show her when she’s older? It’s amazing having that. It’s kind of like your very own home footage, but done professionally. I can’t wait to show her. It’s pretty cool to have a show about us and the highs and the lows from a single parent’s perspective. It’s important. we going to continue to call the show First Time Mum?! It’ll be First Time Nan when Sunday has a baby! We’ll see what happens. I’ve been recommissioned for two more series for this year, so I’m excited. You recently moved into a new home. How are you settling in? I love it. It’s going to be a big feature on the show. I’m so happy there. It’s just so peaceful and gorgeous. There’s an amazing field with wild deer. I’m into my wildlife and nature now and I’ve recently got into bird watching, which is so random. I was a real outdoorsy kid and I want Sunday to be like that too. Are you excited about your friend Danielle Armstrong joining the mum club? I’m so excited that she’s having a little girl. She’s joining the pink club. Have you given her any advice to help prepare her for motherhood? I don’t like giving advice unless someone asks for it, but Danielle is going to be an amazing mum. She’s so good with children and she’s such a happy, positive girl. She and Tom are going to be such good parents, so she doesn’t need advice from me. And Lydia Bright and Lucy Mecklenburgh are both set to give birth. Have you spoken to either of them? I haven’t seen either of them recently. Lydia was at the NTAs and she looked amazing. I loved doing red carpets when I was pregnant as you could display the bump. I’ve spoken to her here
and there. They’re both going to make great mums. You’ve opened up about your incontinence struggles since becoming a mum… It definitely feels like a taboo subject and something people associate with the elderly. I wince at the word incontinence – it’s something I literally couldn’t come to terms with because I very much felt, when I was having bladder leaks, like I was in my prime. I thought it was such a negative thing and I felt really embarrassed. But if I hadn’t opened up about it, I would never have worked with Always Discreet on something I feel so passionate about. What advice would you give to women who are suffering like you? You need to do your pelvic floor exercises – work that muscle! I’ve read DMs from women and I feel really proud to have helped. So many women suffer in silence and don’t open up about it or they feel too embarrassed to see their GP. If we can have more of a spotlight on women’s health, then that’s 100 per cent something I want to be behind, especially as I’ve experienced it first hand. Her father Alan Collins has taken over as director. Gemma previously opened up about struggling to manage her finances, saying, “My dad controls all my money. When you’ve spent a long time with somebody, you’ve got to stop focusing on the crap that happened at the end and focus on all the years before that were brilliant. We had really great times together, so let’s focus on that. That’s lovely. How have you found your fifties so far? I loved my 50th party and I loved my first year of turning 50, but then I hit 51 and became perimenopausal. I went through a stage of feeling a bit redundant as a woman. Once you hit the menopause it’s kind of nature going, “Bye! You’re done!” I had to get a grip of that. And I’m newly divorced. I didn’t expect to get to my mid-fifties and be on my own, but I’m bloody loving it!
You do seem really happy… I’ve turned my mindset around. My sister Bernie died when she was 52. Sometimes when I’m busy I’m like, “God, she’d love to be here with all these worries.” That helps me through a lot. I’m happy that my kids are great and I’m busy. Have you ever missed out on a job because of your age? I don’t know whether I’ve missed out, but I’ve certainly not been considered for primetime stuff. It’s upsetting when I see something and think, “Oh, I would have loved to have done that.” I’ve been quite lucky that I’ve done a bit of primetime with The Real Full Monty, which I love. So you’re up for being booked for more jobs? Every day! When my agent tells me I’ve been offered this or that, I think, “I don’t know what I’m

I watch the telly and there are beautiful young girls on there and I think, “Shit!” Are you excited to be going on tour with The Thunder Girls? I’m really looking forward to it. We did it for a week in Manchester last year and it had such a good reception. There were standing ovations and it was sold out. Why did you say yes to the role? When I read the script this was just the one show I couldn’t turn down. It’s like the Christmas Day episode of your favourite soap that you wait all year for! It’s such a great girls’ night out, basically eavesdropping on the worst dinner party you could ever imagine being at. It’s about a girl band getting back together. How was it when The Nolans reunited? When I first read the script I could relate to it because that’s exactly what we did – we got back together after 25 years. But it was nothing like The Thunder Girls. We don’t hate each other like they do! GEMMA McCARTNEY See thundergirls.co.uk to book

I’ve been trolled really badly and the way I’ve dealt with it is to stop putting up with it. My management now run my Twitter account because I found it was just a bullying forum. e b o t e v o l d ’ e ‘W ’ ! r e h t e g o t t n p re g n a Sisters Sam Faiers and Billie Shepherd discuss their joint baby plans and their very different parenting styles

ust four months since the end of the last series of The Mummy Diaries, Sam Faiers and Billie Shepherd are back on screen with another helping of the hit show. Series seven sees some big changes for Billie and her husband Greg, 34 this week, as they buy a new house, while over at Sam and partner Paul’s, they are tackling potty training Rosie, two. And to throw in a bit of glitz and glamour, viewers will get to see inside Billie’s Great Gatsby-themed 30th birthday bash. The sisters think the show’s success is all down to the fact that nothing is out of bounds. Who remembers when Nelly, five, called Billie out for farting? Cringe! And the cast list could get even larger if Sam, 29, and Billie get their way, as they’re both planning baby number three. Here, Billie, who is also mum to Arthur, two, tells us about their family disagreements, while Sam reveals she …while Sam and and Paul, 31, are finally Paul’s is “calm on the same page when and quiet” it comes to four-year-old Paul’s schooling…
38
Congratulations on the new series. Is filming getting harder now the children are older? Billie: The kids know no different. They’ve pretty much had cameras around them since they were born, but we don’t force them to film. Nelly’s so aware of the cameras. One day she’ll be like, “Film me doing this,” whereas other times she’ll tell me she doesn’t want to film, so I tell her to carry on with what she’s doing and then she comes down wanting to film. Sam: They get to travel and see things they might not normally, but there’s a fine line and we make sure the children always come first.
Sam: It’s all out of love, though. We’re so close. We’re never going to get on 24/7. It’s usually classic squabbles over something pathetic. Billie: Exactly. Silly things. Me and Greg bicker over nothing. Do Paul and Greg know better than to get involved when you argue with each other? Sam: We wouldn’t get them involved! Billie: We don’t even have to say sorry to each other because we just get over it and move on. How do your parenting styles differ? Sam: We have the same love, but we are quite different. Our households are different. In what way? Billie: My household is quite loud and hectic and Samantha’s is calm and quiet. The four kids are so different we can’t even compare how we handle them. Do you discipline the kids differently? Billie: I can be quite loud, like, “Stop! No!” where as Sam is like [quietly], “Let it go.” Billie, you previously told us you’d like another baby. Is that still the case? Billie: I’d definitely consider another baby, but at the moment it’s probably not the right time because we’ve got a huge project with the new house. Maybe within the next two years. What about you, Sam? Sam: I definitely want more, maybe next year. After having baby Paul, Paul and I said we wanted five kids, but I don’t know about that now. We’ll definitely go for one more and see how we get on. I think four would be my limit. Would you like to be pregnant together? Both: Yeah! How do you feel about Paul starting school in September, Sam? Sam: I’m actually really excited. When the day comes it’s going to be really emotional because
Greg and Billie’s house is “quite loud and hectic”…
Is there anything you disagree about when filming? Sam: Not really. We’ve kind of given everything [to the cameras], and one of the reasons we’re into our seventh series is because we don’t hide anything. We show the tantrums. In your head you’re thinking, “Please put the cameras down,” but it’s what families go through and we all have the same struggles. What types of things cause arguments between you? Billie: I wouldn’t say we argue, but we’re all opinionated and tell each other our thoughts.
SAM AND BILLIE’S MUMMY TIPS Getting your kids to sleep Sam: I never did the sleepless nights with Paul as I wanted a happy [training] wit whereas with Rosie, she sleeps house, where 7pm to 7am bbecause I got her into a routine from aan early age. A sleep routine only takes five nights if you persevere. never got Nelly and Paul into a Billie: We nev routine, which is why they still sleep with us, but my advice is just do what you ad have to do to get some sleep. Overcoming Overcom mum guilt Billie: We suffer with that. More than anything, kids just want a your attention, so sitting with a them and colouring, playing with Play-Doh or baking cakes P are all little things you can do. Sam: Put down your phone. And if I’m at work one on day, I’ll make sure I have something fun planned the next. Compromising with your partner over parenting styles Billie: Greg and I sometimes clash, so what I try to do when we disagree is bite my tongue. If you start arguing in front of them, they know they’ve got you. Sam: You can’t let them play you off against each other. he never went to nursery, but he’s ready to learn and have that routine. He’s just been accepted to this really nice school we both really like. Is big Paul ready for his son to start school? Sam: I think he’s happy. Plus he said he’ll do the school run every day, so happy days! We’re in a good place on the school front at the moment. Have any of the kids done anything, like throw a tantrum, that has stopped filming? Billie: Stop filming? They love it so they carry on filming [laughs]. Sam: I was at a River Island signing and it was really busy when Rosie decided to have a huge meltdown. Everyone was looking at me and how I’d deal with it. I just had to carry on smiling and be like, “Come on, darling.” Do you feel under more pressure to get it right because you’re in the public eye? Billie: I’m not going to lie, you do feel under more pressure. Sam: You just have to smile and get through it. Who is most guilty of spoiling their children? Sam: [Turns to Billie] You. Billie: Really? They all get a lot and they get sent a lot of things, which is hard because it’s not normal for a child to have a new toy every day. We give loads away to charity. Sam: Sometimes they’d rather play with something out of the kitchen cupboard. KARMEL DOUGHTY The new series of Sam And Billie: The Mummy Diaries starts on Wednesday 26 February at 9pm on ITVBe

‘I DON’T WANT A PRISON BOYFRIEND ANY MORE!’

he split up with boyfriend Ritchie last June, so Amy Childs reckons it’s high time she put herself back on the dating scene again. And we agree! The former TOWIE star will be rebuilding her confidence under the watchful eyes of dating agents Paul Carrick Brunson and Anna Williamson. Here, unlucky-in-love Amy, 29, reveals why she’s finally avoiding bad boys and admits it’s hard leaving her kids, Polly, two, and 18-month-old Ritchie, during filming…
Hi Amy! Are you glad to be back on TV? Yeah, it’s definitely a comeback. I took my time away from filming, but my time is now. I’m back on TV, having fun, going on dates and drinking prosecco. Sounds fabulous. But were you nervous about getting back out in the dating world? I’ve been on my own for eight months, so it was nerve-wracking. But I’m a young mum. I can still go on dates and have a laugh. Who’s your ideal man? Not a bad boy any more. I used to like the guys who go to prison – now I need to meet someone like my dad who’s funny, got banter and has a job. My exes never had a job. I
need someone who wants to look after me and loves me for me, not just for what I am. What have you learned about dating? I have to ask other people questions and not just talk about myself. That’s right! Are you done with Essex boys? Never say never, honey. They attract me and I attract them. Are you ready to settle down? Yeah, but they’ve got to be the right person. I wouldn’t just settle for anyone. Who is your best friend among the other celebs on the show? I love everyone. I admit I was never a fan of Lockie, but we got on really well. We’ve got great chemistry. If I went back on TOWIE, he’d be my mate on there. Me and Olivia get on so well too. She’s from Chelsea, I’m from Essex, and we’re so different. She drinks champagne and I drink prosecco. Was it hard leaving the kids while filming? Yeah, there were some days I got upset, but I’m doing it for them. I want to meet Mr Right and I want them to be in my children’s lives. Were your fellow celebs supportive about you having children at home? They always asked about the kids, even Lockie. They all made me feel amazing about
them. The minute I got back from holiday [the cast trip to the Dominican Republic], I was like, “Do you know what? I’m Mum again!” I enjoyed the break, but I’m still a mum. The kids are growing up so fast! Is Polly talking now? She won’t stop talking. She’s obsessed with Disney and she loves Frozen, Beauty And The Beast and Cinderella. Every time she watches Disney she wants to put on a dress. She saw the advert for Celebs Go Dating the other day and she said, “Mummy, you’re on TV!” She couldn’t believe it. I got quite tearful. Does she like being a big sister to Ritchie? She’s a bit jealous, but she’s getting to love Ritch. I love seeing them together. Finally, is this the start of Amy Childs’ TV comeback? One hundred per cent. I’m back for good now, honey.

Viewers will see the actor mingle with lots of lovely ladies who will compete for the star’s affection – even if he suffers a bit of an awkward fail during the first episode!

Here, Dean, 42, talks about dealing with rejection and the pressures of getting in front of the camera… Hi Dean! How’s everything going at the dating agency? Everyone talks about the agency, but it’s hard. These guys and girls who come on the show are not used to reality shows and they’ve got 10 cameras stuck in their faces. You handled being turned down in the first episode
very well. How was it? I actually had a DM from the girl [who turned him down] and she apologised and said, “I didn’t want to go on a date on camera.” So there you go. What are your tips for dealing with the rejection? I think everyone in this room, at some point, whether to do with relationships or career, they’ve been rejected in some way, shape or form. You just have to take it like a man, just be a champ and get on with it.

day before. But it will be miscommunication. We’re always on our phones and don’t spend a lot of time together. Since we’ve moved in together the cracks have started to show. This year I want to get married and have kids. I want a baby in this chunky belly! It’s good you’ve decided to have therapy before you start a family… We’re better than ever now and I’m a lot more open [laughs]… literally! Has your sex life improved? It actually has. Matt seems quite shy and you’re very confident. Are you yin and yang? We are, but you’ve got to be different for it to work. I need him to tell me when to go home, because I don’t like to leave a party. At home he’s quite loud, but when he sees a camera he gets a bit shy. Have you got anything else planned for this year? Yeah, something on TV which is amazing, but I can’t say what it is yet. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for ages. I think my dad [the late Les Dawson] would be very proud of me.

he split from Made In Chelsea boyfriend Digby Edgley just two months before looking for love at the agency, but Olivia Bentley tells new she’s ready to throw herself back into the world of dating. Here, Liv, 24, reveals what she’s learnt about herself and who she’s closest to on set, but denies she’s getting romantic with fellow singleton Josh Ritchie... Hi Liv! What have you learnt about dating so far? I learnt a lot more about myself than I did about dating. I learnt that I’m actually a nice person, but I’m really bad at letting people in. You said you want an Essex boy... Not Essex specifically, just someone not from Chelsea or someone that I know or that has shagged someone I know. Fair enough! Have you dated much in the past? I haven’t really dated. Going into the mixer was mortifying – I was sweating like something else. It was terrifying. How does your ex Digby feel about you doing the show? I haven’t spoken to him. We broke up two months prior to this. He’s got a new girlfriend and he met the girl when we were still together. Oh! Did he cheat? I don’t think he did. Annoyingly for me, I got a lot of shit for what went on between us, but because I was on the series a lot more than he was, everyone saw my shit and not his. I’m not slating him in the slightest, however it takes two to tango. Were you vulnerable when you went into the agency? When I spoke to the agents, I think I was more vulnerable than I let on. I put on this big facade and make

out I’m confident, but I’m not. Do you want to settle down? I do but I don’t. I don’t want to force it. I have a habit of jumping into things very quickly, and doing Celebs Go Dating has made me realise I need to take things a lot slower. That’s good, because I don’t want to waste my time being with someone I won’t ultimately marry. What’s hard for me is some of my friends are in their thirties and are getting married and having kids. I need to remember I’m 25, so I shouldn’t be doing that. Is that something you want eventually though? I want to get married and have five kids. I say that now, but after having one I’ll probably say, “I’ll never do this again!” Are any of the celebs hooking up? Everyone keeps thinking that Josh and I are together, but we are absolutely not. I met him five years ago and we’ve been mates for years, because he was dating a friend of mine. Then there was a bloody article about us pissing about in the sea. We’re absolutely not together. When I heard that Josh was joining the show, I was relieved as it was someone I actually knew. Is it nice to do a show that’s not Made In Chelsea? Yeah, it’s fun and different. Made In Chelsea’s not a dating show, whereas CGD is solely about dating – which I’m clearly s**t at because all my relationships have gone to hell. Looking back, are you glad you went through the process? I am, and I’m glad I met Amy Childs!

he’s known for her sense of humour, but we’ll see a very different side to Alison Hammond on Celebs Go Dating. The 45-year-old This Morning favourite tells new we’ll see her opening up about her emotions while she’s on the hunt for a hubby. Here, Alison talks about her bond with the other stars and being vulnerable on camera... Hi Alison! We’ve heard this series gets pretty emotional for you... I’m quite an emotional person, really. They [the dating agents] dug deep. I was all over it and I opened up. I think it’s good to be vulnerable and to be honest – that’s the same when I go into anything. Doing this I was true and honest, and that’s just what I wanted to do. It’s important to throw yourself into it... Yeah, otherwise it would be a bit dry, innit? Are you looking for a husband? Yeah, babes, I was all over it! I was looking for a man and I was looking for love. Did I find it? You’ll have to keep watching. All I can say is I have my ups and downs, but it’s all great. Did you enjoy being on the show? I’m really glad I’ve had the experience, just to meet the rest of the celebs and have such a laugh doing it. It’s been brilliant. You sign up for a show like this and you think it’s going to be a laugh doing it, but the agency have just been incredible. Everyone just wants to be loved, don’t they? That’s what we’re all here to do.

alique Thompson-Dwyer had us all cringing over his womanising ways during the first episode of Celebs Go Dating. The Hollyoaks heartthrob even revealed on screen that he has a foot fetish. Eek! Here, the 22-year-old actor, who describes himself as a “nice boy”, reveals who would be his ideal woman and the challenge of being himself on camera...
Hi Malique! Are you enjoying the Celebs Go Dating process? Yeah. For me, I think everyone has seen that wild side of me, but you’re going to see a nice boy come out – not so much of a player. A lot of people in the first episode admitted they like feet. Did that surprise you? I thought it was only me who liked feet, so that was weird! It annoyed me that other people were jumping on the bandwagon.
Coming from Hollyoaks, was it tough being yourself on screen? Yeah. I would always say I’m used to having cameras around me, but coming to the agency, I realise I’m not, and it’s strange having loads of cameras in my face. I was nervous. You said you want someone to replace your mum. Do you want to be looked after? I’m getting to the age where I’m taking over everything myself. It would be nice to come home and have a lovely lady to cook me dinner. Was diving into a room full of women harder than some of the trials in the I’m A Celeb jungle? I’d put it on the same level. The drink helped me out a lot. If I was sober, I would have handled it a lot differently. I was saying how nervous I was, and then when I walked in I was like, “I’m a predator!”

DISCIPLINE DEBATE Martin Freeman sparked controversy after admitting that he smacked his two children when they were younger. He wasn’t condoning it, but said he did it because he couldn’t rationalise with them and was “at the end of my rope”. When I was growing up, we got a smack if we did something wrong and it didn’t do us any harm. If anything, it taught us respect. However, when I became a parent, I knew that I’d never smack my kids, and I never have. In my experience, I get the same result just by giving the kids
“the look”. And when they misbehave, I take their toys or technology away. Richard Madeley later revealed he was beaten by his dad and teachers growing up. I was of the same generation – I got the cane at school and was even punched in the chest by a head teacher. It’s not right, but that’s the way it was. These days, MY VIE I believe we shouldn’t ON W T smack our children. N E WH E
What a fool! I totally relate to a story Ashley Roberts shared last week about the first time she met one of her idols, Johnny Depp. She was so starstruck, she randomly told him she has no cartilage in her nose! It reminded me of when I met George Michael for the first time back in 1996. He was speaking to me about being a fellow Cypriot, but I couldn’t string a sentence together. I was just spouting random mumblings. I was so in awe of him, but he must have thought I was just rude. I was annoyed with myself for years afterwards.

it on the Gold Coast. They looked like real little Aussies hitting the surf every morning. Before flying home, I was asked to give a talk to students at my old high school about success and how you can achieve things against the odds. It was a real honour.
NO BIGGIE I’m back in the UK for my 47th birthday this week. People have been asking me if I’m worried about getting older, but it doesn’t faze me. I know it’s a cliché, but you’re only as old as you feel – and I feel young! Of course, I have days where I feel tired and have no energy, but I don’t associate it with getting older – that’s just life. I have no plans to do anything special to celebrate. I’ll be happy with a nice dinner with Emily and the kids. But when my 50th approaches, I’ll celebrate big time!
Keith gets the chop I was sad to hear my pal Keith Lemon’s TV show, Through The Keyhole, has been axed after six series. I actually appeared on the show back in 2015 and it was quite an experience! Keith rummaged through my home in Cyprus and smashed a load of plates in my garden – as a Greek reference. It’s a shame it’s been cancelled, but I don’t think Keith has anything to worry about. It’s not like he’s short of job offers. He’s brilliant at what he does and very good at creating new opportunities.

What’s better than a gorgeous smelling candle? One that also doubles up as a treatment oil. Neom has re-formulated its best-selling Real Luxury Intensive Skin Treatment Candle, £40, to include jojoba and baobab oil – so now it’s more nourishing than ever. Light it and wait for the wax to melt before pouring a little on your skin (it doesn’t burn!).

‘Dieting together helped us shed a whopping 12st!’ A nightly takeaway habit saw Bex Topping, 48, and partner Beth Rocha, 38, of Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire, pile on the pounds. But a new diet and teamwork helped them drop the weight

rudging through the front door, I let out an exhausted sigh. “I’m home – and I’ve got us fish and chips,” I called out to my partner, Beth. For many people, eating a takeaway is an occasional treat, but it had become a nightly ritual for Beth and me over the nine years we’d been together since meeting in a Facebook neighbourbood group. We both had busy jobs, Beth in financial services and me in communications, so cooking dinner from scratch was the last thing we wanted to do when we got home. We’d eat out or get a Chinese, Indian or pizza and curl up in front of the telly. We tried to slim down a few times on various diets and eating plans. Usually we’d just count calories and hit the gym, but after a while the weight would creep back on – and then some. When my son Tom, 28, married Frankie, also 28, in 2017, I was determined to lose weight for their big day. But I didn’t drop as much as I hoped and, stuck at about 15st, I wore a floaty top and trousers. I was a bit disappointed with myself. “I’ve been this way for so long that I can’t imagine ever being a healthy size,” Beth would say. “I know what you mean,” I’d agree. For ages I’d suffered from a hormone imbalance which made my hair thin, but in August 2018 it started coming out in clumps. Worried, I went to my GP. “There’s no easy way to say this, but being overweight is making your hormonal issues worse,” she told me. “Perhaps if you managed to lose a little you’d notice a difference.” Leaving the doctor’s surgery, her words echoed in my mind. Deep down, I knew she was right. With me at 16st 3lb and a size 22, and Beth at 16st 8lb and also a size 22, we were both classed as obese. We’d both been about a size 16 when we met but for too long we’d been turning to junk food and unhealthy snacks to fuel our busy lives. Something had to give. So, acting on my doctor’s advice, I looked into what I could find locally and came across the 1:1 Diet by
Bex (left) and Beth took up running
a Cambridge Weight Plan consultant called Genine Herdman-Smith, who was working in my local area. Although I’d tried slimming plans before, this one felt different. I knew I had a long road ahead of me, though – a road that would be easier if Beth and I walked it together. “What do you think about doing it with me?” I asked her one evening. She thought it over and decided to give it a try. The consultant came to our house and spoke to us one to one. That was great. I’d been to groups like WeightWatchers in the past, but I hated being weighed publicly. The diet plan is personalised and was surprisingly easy to follow. In the early stage it takes total control of what you eat, offering meal replacement products including shakes and soups, plus meals such as spaghetti bolognese. That was ideal because we felt we lacked self control. It was flexible, too, so
‘Takeaways had become a nightly ritual for us’
when we took a trip to Edinburgh, we had the meal replacements in the day and then ate out at night, so it felt like a proper holiday. As you move through the steps, you start incorporating “real” food back into your diet, so you cook meals at home – chicken or fish and plenty of vegetables. Beth’s a good cook and we started to enjoy planning our food. We saw results immediately – I lost 9lb in the first week. And because of that, we were spurred on to stick at it. “Another pound gone,” Beth grinned, as we weighed ourselves. “Well done you,” I said, smiling back at her. Seeing our bodies transform in front of our eyes was so motivating – we were supportive, but we were also a bit competitive and that was all part of the fun. It wasn’t just about the weight though – it seemed every area of our lives was improving.
SELF-CONSCIOUS We had more energy than ever before and more confidence. My hair was falling out less, and that cloud of fatigue that’d been hanging over us both for so long finally lifted. As we got more in shape, something unexpected happened – we fell in love with exercise. Beth had been into cycling when she was younger, but it had fallen by the wayside in recent years. She didn’t have the energy and felt self-conscious in Lycra. I understood. People can be cruel and you’ll get a lingering stare here, a passing comment there. It all chips away at your self-esteem. So, when Beth took up cycling up again, I was thrilled for her. We discovered running, too, and would often head out jogging together on evenings and weekends. We joined a proper running club and began taking on 5km, 10km and even half marathon races together. Beth did a half marathon in September and she cheered me on as I crossed the finish line when I ran mine in December. By mid-2019, we had both reached our goal weights – I’m now 10st 7lb, while Beth is 10st 6lb, and we both wear a size 10 to 12. These days, it’s more about maintaining our new bodies than losing any more weight.
REAL LIFE

tops – but nice ones, not shapeless things that engulf my body. One of the biggest changes has been to my career. Slimming down gave me the confidence to give up my old job and retrain as a 1:1 Diet consultant, qualifying last March. The degree course is to make sure I’m giving my clients the best help I can. I know what it’s like to be in their shoes, where the future looks so uphill, where We pay for change seems impossible and it all your stories – email us at feels too late – but it’s never too late. e@ lif true I’m so thankful that I had Beth om .c reachplc by my side every step of the way. I honestly couldn’t have done all of this without her. ERIN CARDIFF BETH SAYS: “I’d got so used to being overweight, it never crossed my mind I could one day be a healthy size. It felt too late to turn it all around. I’d become a hermit, coming home from work, grabbing a takeaway and eating it in front of the TV – only to do it all again the next day. Now, life is completely different. I would say to anybody else wondering what things would be like if they were able to change – don’t just think, do!” A lot of people find the maintaining stage especially difficult. I know first-hand how easy it is to slowly slip back into those old habits, but with this diet, the support is so fantastic I have no doubt the weight is gone for good.
BINNING THE BAGGY JEANS Where we used to sink exhausted onto the sofa, we now spend our free time in the great outdoors, running, hiking and cycling. I’m running the Brighton Marathon in April – it’ll be the longest distance I’ve ever run. The feeling of pride when I get that medal at
the finish line will be indescribable and will prove to me that all this hard work has been worth every second. Every single area of our lives is different now. Even simple things like clothes shopping, which used to fill us both with dread, has become a joyful experience. Before, we could only buy what fitted us – baggy jeans and tops – but now we love shopping. Beth wears really nice clothes to work, like smart shirts and trousers. Because I’m a student again, studying for a degree in health, nutrition and exercise, I still wear jeans and

round 3pm on a bright Saturday afternoon, I’m sitting with a group of people in a suburban café. We’re pouring tea, eating muffins – and chatting about death. A woman in her twenties is talking about her funeral. “I want everyone to wear bright colours,” she says. “And I want it to be outside, in nature. I’d like to be buried in one of those pods that grows into a tree. I love the idea of my body helping something grow.” This is the sort of conversation you hear in a death café, where people come together to chat about mortality over tea and cake. Death Café is an international movement set up to encourage people to talk about something that’s usually the ultimate taboo. The idea is that in a relaxed setting, having permission to discuss death can help dissolve fear, sadness and superstition, so we can make the most of living. I decided to start a regular death café in 2017, after seeing bereaved friends struggle because those around them found it difficult to talk openly about their losses. One friend, Alice, had a little boy who died aged two from cancer. Alongside coping with unimaginable grief, she also found herself having to deal with people in her local village crossing the street to avoid her because they didn’t know what to say. Just when she most needed support, she became more isolated. Another friend, Steve, was widowed suddenly at 41, leaving him to raise two young children alone. His wife’s religious family, heartbroken at the loss of their daughter, refused to allow any conversations about her death, forcing Steve to put on a brave face when he spent time with them. Talking to Alice and Steve, I realised if death and dying were more familiar topics of conversation in our society, people in their situations would be more likely to get the
support they need – and find it easier to ask for it. I decided I could help make a difference by setting up a death café in my own local area in south-west London. I had personal reasons for wanting to help people talk about death and loss, too. I got married in my late thirties and two muchwanted pregnancies ended in miscarriage – the second at 15 weeks, due to a rare complication. Then my marriage crumbled and I had to face a childless future. This is a type of grief that isn’t well understood because you’re not mourning someone who’s gone from your life – you are mourning a life you will never have. Living and working alone at home, I fell into a depression and knew I needed to find a meaningful way of connecting with my community. I thought running a death café might be it.
NO AGENDA I’d trained as a counsellor in the past, but you don’t need a qualification to run a death café. The movement’s website gives clear instructions – you book a quiet space, advertise your death café, then wait for guests to arrive. The only rules are that everyone respects each other’s beliefs and there’s no agenda – people are allowed to talk about death in any way they wish. Sometimes, this means the conversation can take unexpected turns.

Charlotte wanted to make a difference
One young man turned up wanting nting to chat about cryogenics – the process rocess of having your body frozen after er death in the hope there may one ne u. day be technology to revive you. te for A death café isn’t a substitute riably bereavement support, but invariably rief. people often bring repressed grief. At one café, a photographer in her ather’s forties wept as she told us her father’s m having new wife had forbidden her from ther than any involvement in his funeral, other he hadn’t as a guest. As a result, she felt she said goodbye properly. “In the pub after the funeral, my stepmother shoved a tray of sandwiches at me and told me to pass it round, as though I was a waitress, not a daughter grieving her beloved dad,” she told us, sobbing. Afterwards, she told me she hadn’t been for bereavement counselling as it felt overwhelming. “But being able to express these feelings with kind strangers in a less formal way felt safe,” she said. “I knew nobody was going to push me to talk more than I wanted, but I felt totally heard and

understood. It was so good to cry about it. That’s the first time I have.” Nora, in her sixties, is a regular. She had to leave work while caring for her father, who had dementia. When he died, she felt very isolated. “I hadn’t had time to keep up with We pay for my friends,” she confided. “Coming to talk s ie or st ur yo to other people who are willing to listen at us l ai – em makes so much difference.” She’s now truelife@ made some friends through the death café reachplc.com and says it feels like a new community.
TEARS AND LAUGHTER As well as tears, there’s a lot of laughter, too. One woman couldn’t stop giggling about seeing her aunt in the mortuary with a face full of make-up. “She never wore a scrap in real life, so I didn’t recognise her. And I hadn’t realised it’s basically a fridge in there. It was a hot day, so I hadn’t worn a cardigan,” she said. From a personal point of view, I’ve got so much out of my three years of running death cafés. I’ve met local people and bonded deeply with them. I felt so inspired by the people I met and what they shared, I decided to train as a soul midwife, sometimes known as a death doula, which is an end-of-life companion to the dying. For so many nowadays, conventional religion doesn’t offer the farewell rituals they crave, yet they still want a spiritual element. I’m able to work with them to create a ceremony they want – even if it’s their own personal goodbye once the official funeral is out of the way. I even create rituals for those whose animal companions have died – a much underestimated source of grief that comes up in almost all my death cafés. From my own experience, I know expressing some of our fears and sadness around death can lead to a richer life.
Why we should talk about death Research by Dying Matters, an organisation that raises awareness of dying, death and bereavement, has found that 77 per cent of Britons find it hard to talk about death, although one third of us think about it at least once a week. When we do talk about it, we use hushed euphemisms – “he passed”, “she slipped away” and so on. Yet each year, in England alone, half a million people die, with every death directly affecting five people and indirectly
affecting many more. It happens to all of us, so why do we struggle so much? “There can be an idea that if you talk about death you’ll somehow make it happen,” says bereavement counsellor Julia Samuel. “And people worry it’s a depressing topic, but it doesn’t have to be.” Talking about it can help you get life into perspective, appreciate the present moment and connect with those close to you, she advises. ■ Find a death café at deathcafe.com

‘Love Island gave me confidence’
Reality star India Reynolds, 29, on learning to accept her natural curves and the surprising benefits of following a vegan diet HEIGHT 5FT 5IN WEIGHT 9ST 7LB DRESS SIZE 10 Hi India! How often do you work out? I try to exercise three times a week, even if it’s not going to the gym. I like going on long dog walks and doing a bit of yoga in the morning.
What do you do in the gym?
What’s your go-to takeaway? Pizza Express do really good pizzas with vegan mozzarella.
Are you body confident? Yeah, I think so. I’ve modelled for a long time so I’m aware of my body and I’ve got used to it. I used to be really strict with going to the gym and dieting, but as I’ve got older I’ve learnt to be more accepting.
Does being in the public eye make you feel under more pressure to look good?
What’s your guilty pleasure? I like chocolate a lot. It’s annoying sometimes because if I’m craving it when I’m out and about, it isn’t always easy to get vegan chocolate.
Have you ever tried any diets?
Since doing Love Island, I almost feel less pressure to look a certain way. Before, when I was modelling, you were always looking at the girls around you, whereas now I feel like it’s better to represent a natural body shape.
I’ve done a lot of shake diets and also counting carbs and calories. I used to stick to it for a bit and get results, but it made me miserable. I love food so much!
What’s your top health tip?
Are you a healthy eater?
If you want to lose weight, do things you can incorporate into your lifestyle. Don’t start ridiculous ways of eating that are so far from what you’re used to. Make small changes.
I’ve been vegan for two and a half years so I feel like that makes me healthier – mainly because it’s harder to eat cake! I gave it a go

NUTRITION CONSULTANT IAN MARBER SAYS… “While oats are indeed a grain, they contain a notable amount of protein and a 100g serving offers almost 17g of protein. It’s not necessary to add more, especially if it’s a supplement. India might be better off adding some walnuts, which provide protein as well as some omega 3 fats. “India eats a really good mix of foods, and lunch highlights that these days great vegan options can be found on the high street. Most of us get only 18g of fibre a day, but we need around 30g. THE SICK DAY RULES
Dragging yourself to work when you’re under the weather isn’t always sensible. We tell you when to go in and when it’s best to stay at home
W
e’re taking fewer sick days than ever (on average four per year, compared to seven in 1993), with one study finding that nine in 10 of us would prefer to struggle in to work than take time off if unwell. And we don’t go any easier on our little ones either. Seven in 10 parents confess to sending an unwell child to school or nursery. But is that really for the best? When should we stay home and when should we soldier on?
VOMITING AND DIARRHOEA “These are usually clear signs that you should stay at home,” says Pharmacy2U superintendent pharmacist Phil Day. “Diarrhoea and vomiting can be caused by the highly contagious norovirus or rotavirus, or bacterial infections like salmonella,” he says. “These can be transmitted through direct contact or contaminated objects – so basically, stay away from others as best you can.” Public Health England advises exclusion until 48 hours after the last episode of illness to reduce the risk of contamination.

COUGHS, COLDS AND FLU “With genuine flu you will be too weak to get out of bed initially,” says Dr Sarah Brewer, medical director of Healthspan. Expect to be absent for at least a week and ensure you are fever-free for 24 hours before returning. Coughs and colds are more of a grey area, with 75 per cent of adults saying they would feel guilty for taking time off work. So you might be surprised – and relieved – to learn that health experts recommend time off for colds as well as flu. “You can spread a cold from a few days “Even if you feel better during that time frame you could still be ‘shedding’ the virus,” says The Hygiene Doctor’s Dr Lisa Ackerley. “It only takes one or two particles to infect someone.” However, vomiting can also be caused by medication, food intolerance or migraines, in which case there is no risk of passing it on. HOW TO TREAT: Rest and sip clear fluids to avoid dehydration. HOW TO CONTAIN: Be scrupulous about handwashing, avoid sharing towels, wash laundry at high temperatures and disinfect surfaces, particularly toilet and door handles.
before symptoms begin until they have finished,” says Dr Brewer. “Stay away from work or school for at least two to three days to help yourself recover and protect colleagues and classmates.” However, with some symptoms lingering for weeks, there can be confusion over when to return. Essentially, if you are coughing and sneezing droplets all over the place you shouldn’t be at work or school as you will spread it. Lingering symptoms can usually be managed. HOW TO TREAT: Rest and stay warm, with plenty of fluids to keep hydrated. Over-thecounter treatments can ease symptoms but if they haven’t improved after a week, or complications develop, see your GP. HOW TO CONTAIN: Cough and sneeze into your elbow to reduce the spread of airborne droplets. Adopt a one-use rule for tissues and wash hands every time you blow your nose.
HEALTH HANGOVER According to the Health and Safety Executive, alcohol is estimated to account for 8 to 14 million lost working days in the UK each year – up to five per cent of all absences. Some companies have introduced “hangover days”, allowing staff to work from home. But psychologists at the University of Bath found that hungover people have poorer attention, memory and
psychomotor skills such as co-ordination, with implications for activities such as driving or operating machinery. HOW TO TREAT: Use rehydration sachets containing electrolytes that replace lost fluids quicker than water alone. Try painkillers and an antacid for headaches and upset tummies. HOW TO CONTAIN: Know your limits and never drink on an empty stomach.
IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME IBS – a collection of symptoms including constipation, diarrhoea, stomach cramps and bloating – is not contagious so there’s no risk of passing it on, says Phil Day. “But if you’re in pain then it would make sense to stay home and recover.” HOW TO TREAT: Changing your diet and lifestyle or taking medicines to control symptoms can help. HOW TO CONTAIN: See your GP if you’ve not had a diagnosis or if symptoms worsen.
STRESS, DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY
“Headaches usually respond to painkillers, so you may feel well enough to work,” says Phil Day. “But if the pain persists or worsens, you feel sick or find light or noise painful, see a GP.“ Migraines are more than just a bad headache. Some can last for days, or come with a visual disturbance or lead to vomiting. If you’ve had them before you’ll know if you can work or not.” HOW TO TREAT: Rest, sip water and try ibuprofen or paracetamol. For migraines, ask a pharmacist or GP about triptans – medication to calm the brain’s pain nerves. HOW TO CONTAIN: Stress, dehydration, skipping meals, food intolerances, bad eyesight, alcohol and fatigue can trigger headaches and migraines. Keeping a diary can identify causes.
PERIOD PAIN According to a Bupa survey, almost a quarter of women have taken time off work for issues associated with periods – with a third of those lying that they had flu or a tummy bug. “Cramps, caused by uterine contractions, can vary in severity. If they’re very painful you may not be well enough to work,” says Phil Day. “Some women also vomit or have diarrhoea.” HOW TO TREAT: Heat and painkillers can help. If symptoms persist, your GP can prescribe stronger medication, period-pausing contraception or refer you to a gynaecologist. HOW TO CONTAIN: Exercise can reduce the severity of cramps. Take painkillers at the first sign of cramping instead of waiting till it’s unbearable.
around one in 10 employees who disclosed a mental health problem faced demotion, disciplinary procedures or dismissal. We want staff to talk openly about their mental health.” HOW TO TREAT: A GP can offer advice on treatments or medication. HOW TO CONTAIN: Follow Mind’s Five Ways To Wellbeing, which include taking regular exercise and being mindful. Visit mind.org.uk.
BAD BACK According to the Office for National Statistics, more working days – 31 million – were lost to back, neck and muscle pain than any other cause in 2013. “Keeping active is important for a fast recovery, so carrying on with your normal activities is usually the right course of action,” says Phil. “If your job involves physical activity or heavy lifting, speak to your boss. See your GP if the pain doesn’t improve, it happened after an accident or if you have a temperature of 38°C or above.” HOW TO TREAT: Painkillers and applying a hot or cold compress can help. See your GP if the pain doesn’t improve. HOW TO CONTAIN: Strengthen your back with regular exercise, check posture, maintain a healthy weight and avoid sitting for long periods.

So Holly, what’s it like to have Sophie on the show? Holly: It’s so good because obviously me and Sophie are best friends in real life, so it’s nice to actually have someone on the show. Marnie lives quite far away, and we do kind of film together, but Sophie is always up and down the country. It’s nice to have another OG there with us. Casey makes him laugh. As soon as Casey says something he just starts howling. Is he more like his mum or his dad? Marnie: Personalitywise I feel like he’s more like Casey.
Casey: I think like he looks like Marnie. At the moment he does anyway. He has Marnie’s dark eyes. Marnie: I think he’s a mix. He does have my dark eyes and that’s the first thing you see, but the rest of his face is like Casey’s – his nose, his lips, his everything. ‘EMMA’S BEEN A TROUPER’ Gaz Beadle on how his fiancée coped during their daughter’s health scare
So Gaz, what can we expect to see this season? Kids everywhere! It’s nice though – it was a new challenge for me. I got engaged [to Emma McVey], but the new challenge was preparing for another baby. My missus was pregnant, we had another child growing up, I’m working – so it’ll be relatable to people watching. People’s normal lives are hectic. Everyone is trying to juggle kids and whatever else you’re doing in your normal life. For me it was just having a pregnant missus and having a two-year-old running around. Baby Primrose has been ill. How’s she doing now? To be fair, she’s a lot better now. It’s weird because nobody could give her a diagnosis. She was just really, really constipated. They were doing loads of checks on her insides and all that sort of stuff. What happened? We went to the hospital and they did loads of tests, but medically they couldn’t find anything wrong, so they couldn’t do anything. We’ve since seen an osteopath. And what was the result of that? The osteopath said she’d been curled up during the pregnancy, so it’s more about alignment. They straightened her out and it’s really, really helped.
When did you first realise she wasn’t well? Obviously, when you first have a baby and they’re not pooing, it’s a problem. They can go seven days then they get uncomfortable. So you go and get flushed out and then after another five days we would go and get her flushed out again, and then we had to question why it was happening. The osteopath said it can all be to do with how they are during pregnancy and seeing how they are aligned when they come out. It’s like, you wouldn’t go to the toilet if you were curled up, so they just straighten them out a little bit. Within two or three sessions, she was like a different baby. Was it quite scary for you and Emma? It’s not scary, it’s just lucky she wasn’t white or boiling hot. She just physically couldn’t go to the toilet. We could help her, so we were on top of it, but we were wondering why! How was Emma during it all? She’s been a trouper to be fair. She will not stop until she gets answers. A mum knows their child better than anyone – they know if the baby’s uncomfortable. Emma was the one in the driving seat. Is Chester a good big brother? He goes, “Ah baby”, “Morning baby” and pats the baby because he used to pat his doll! He’s been really good. Have your reality TV pals been supportive of all the changes? Yeah, you get a lot of messages from everyone, especially people like Marnie, asking if we were OK. To be fair, a lot more kids are in worse conditions, but it’s just scary being in hospital. But it wasn’t too bad in the end. We were lucky and it helped that Emma was persistent. Geordie OGs starts on 26 February, 9pm, MTV

When he’s not speeding around a race track in the name of Top Gear, he’s filming the new series of BBC game show Catchpoint, which is back on our screens later this month. But Paddy, who has six-yearold twins Leo and Penelope and three-year-old daughter Felicity with his gorgeous wife Christine, 31, tells us he’s always been a hard-working go-getter. To celebrate the return of Catchpoint, in which contestants must answer trivia questions and catch falling balls, Paddy, 46, tells us why he feels out of his depth during filming, what makes sports stars a different breed to celebs and which shock role he turned down…
Another day, another show, Paddy! What’s the secret of your success? It’s taken me 20 years to get to this point. I’ve always worked, right from leaving school, and after filming Phoenix Nights [with his BFF Peter Kay], I was working in a leisure centre with no agent or anything. I got a job at a local radio station, writing for one of the DJs. I just did pretty much anything I could at the time. I started with a stand-up set, then we did Max & Paddy. And then, rather than sitting down waiting for the phone to ring, I just went out and got it myself, if you know what I mean. Hard work is the key to everything. Wife Christine and their three kids

THE GREAT ESCAPE Riddle me this... puzzle-based escape rooms are huge business right now – and we’ve tried some of the trickiest!
AC
FLIGHT 338
Flight 338 is set on an actual plane close to London’s O2 Arena, and is a near-perfect escape room. It has everything… The novelty factor (you play the part of a prisoner trying to get off the jet, complete with jumpsuit and optional handcuffs), excellent puzzles that aren’t so difficult you find yourself banging your head against the wall in frustration and a cool actor guide who helps you – and hinders you – when you least expect it. With just one hour to follow the clues and find a way out of the plane, this is one of the most entertaining games around right now. riddlewithin.com

TICKETS 2 RIDE This two player-only room is mocked up to look like the inside of a London Underground station – albeit one under threat from a mad criminal mastermind looking to destroy the capital. Race the clock (60 minutes is standard for most escape rooms) to beat his clues in this
immersive game that comes complete with headphones providing you with the sounds of the city above. It’s tricky but enormous fun, and perfect for couples or BFFs looking for something different to do. clueadventures.com/2tickets
MINDLOCK This small York-based company has some of the most innovative and fun rooms in the country. From the clever Cluedo game to the ancient Viking Valhalla room, there are several options depending on how adventurous you’re feeling. Wannabe wizards and witches up for a chilling
challenge should try The Dark Arts, or for any budding scientists out there, lock yourself in a lab and try to find a cure for a deadly virus in the V90 room – but remember, you’ve only got 60 minutes to crack the code! mindlockyork.com

TRUE HISTORY OF THE KELLY GANG STARRING: GEORGE MACKAY, NICHOLAS HOULT, RUSSELL CROWE CERT: 18
WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?
If you recall your GCSE history lessons, you might be aware of the story of Ned Kelly, the 19th-century Australian outlaw who’s widely considered a folk hero in his homeland. This super violent movie tells the tale of Ned and his gang as they flee the authorities and cause general mayhem during the 1870s. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t end well for the law-despising anti-hero, who – if you
were paying attention back at school – was executed for his crimes at the age of 25.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT?
A lot of violence. There’s no way of sugarcoating it – this is not a film for the faint of heart. One man in our screening got up and walked out halfway through, which might well be a selling point depending on your point of view. The dialogue is strewn
with swear words and there’s some seriously saucy nudity – so it’s definitely not one for prudes. The terrific cast also deserve a mention. While Russell and Nicholas are on typically fine form, 1917 actor George is simply sensational as lawless bad boy Ned.
VERDICT: DESTRUCTION DOWN UNDER!

T
You can count on 6 Music to provide seriously fine entertainment – and the radio station’s annual festival is no exception. Tickets are now sold out. But fear not, you can catch up on all the action – which comes live from London’s Camden – on 6 Music and BBC Sounds across the weekend of 6-8 March. bbc.co.uk/events

THE BODYGUARD BARES HIS BOD! You might remember I’m a bit of a fan of Bodyguard star Richard Madden, so seeing this picture of him sans shirt at the top of a mountain certainly brightened up my day. Those muscles! That cute grey streak in his hair! That 70s-style chest rug! Obviously I’m not objectifying the actor in any way, shape or form, merely admiring the physique of someone at their peak, while they bond with nature and a few million Instagram followers. poss What could possibly be wrong with that?! Ri But while Richard was (naturally) bombarded with m appreciative messages from his legions of admiring fans, his celeb pals did at least help him keep it real. D Fellow actor Douglas Booth wrote, “Did you Uber to Y don’t look very sweaty,” while Alfie the top? You Allen joked, “You’ve changed.” I’m glad Richard’s got mates who keep h feet on the ground! his

BEN’S RIGHT TO REGRET

HARRY’S HORROR Just before his Brits appearance, poor Harry Styles was mugged at knifepoint, in London’s posh Hampstead of all places. For those of you not familiar with this exclusive corner of north London, it’s a beautiful old Georgian village that’s now home to celebrities and footballers alike – and is the spot where I spent most of my teenage years hanging out trying to get into bars. Back then, muggings were pretty much unheard of. But now it’s a mecca for the super-rich, the area has inevitably seen a rise in crime, with residents getting their Rolexes snatched off their wrists in broad daylight. It’s awful that Harry, who was also stalked by a homeless man he tried to help in Hampstead, has been attacked. But I’m pleased to see that unlike many celebs, he’s still happy to wander around his local hood late at night (11.50pm to be precise) and isn’t chauffeured everywhere. I hope this unpleasant incident doesn’t put him off going out and about in the capital on his tod.
I never forget Gwyneth Paltrow I’ll ddescribing ex-boyfriend Ben Affleck’s pperfect woman as “anyone that sserves cold beer in a bikini”. Or the dday his wedding to Jennifer Lopez w was called off just after I’d written aan extensive A-Z on their nuptials. It certainly seemed he’d struggle tto settle down, so I was surprised w when he ended up with the beautiful but sensible Jennifer Garner. For a while s he seemed happier to be pictured in pum pumpkin patches with one of their three gorgeou kids on his shoulders, but then his gorgeous well-doc well-documented demons reappeared and their ma marriage ended in divorce. Last w week, Ben confessed the split was “bigg regret”, adding, “I started his “biggest Stretch marks are as much a part of being a mum as drinking more and more when my changing nappies, so hats off to Ashley Graham for baring m marriage was falling apart. hers just a month after she gave birth to her son.
