Transposition Transposition The transposition of outgoing and return conductors is done to suppress disturbance by creating an inductive coupling in a circuit. Induced voltages in a successive conductor loops are 180o out of sync and neutralize each other.
Transposition becomes more effective with increasingly number of loops. A good figure is 30 loops per meter.
