MOUNTIES HOCKEY

What a disappointing season it was for all the members of our hockey club with COVID interrupting us again mid-season! Mounties hockey had nine teams entered the Metropolitan South West Hockey Association competition in both the junior and senior competitions. These teams included an U7s and U9s team, entered into the Minkies competition, 1x U11, 2x U13, 1x U15, 1x U18 Boys team entered into the junior competition and an A and C grade team entered into the ladies competition

What a disappointing season it was for all the members of our hockey club with COVID interrupting us again midseason! Mounties hockey had nine teams entered the Metropolitan South West Hockey Association competition in both the junior and senior competitions. These teams included an U7s and U9s team, entered into the Minkies competition, 1x U11, 2x U13, 1x U15, 1x U18 Boys team entered into the junior competition and an A and C grade team entered into the ladies competition. All our teams had a fantastic start to the season with our U/15 team undefeated when the competition ceased. Our U/13 Gold (div 1) and C grade ladies teams were both sitting top of the ladder and the U/11 and U/18 boys teams placed second in their respective grades when the competition was abandoned. A highlight for the season were the number of Mounties players who were fortunate to attend State Championships representing Metropolitan Southwest in the U/15, U/18 and Opens age groups. We had two U/15 players participate in the 2021 National Championships in February as part of NSW teams. In addition, two players were selected for the u/21 national championships which were unfortunately postponed until 2022. Two rising stars were also selected into the 2021/2022 state squads. Mounties hockey would like to congratulate all our players for their resilience throughout the 2021 season. We look forward to being fitter, stronger, and entering even more teams in the 2022 competition. Big thanks to Mounties for your ongoing support!
