MOUNTIES MEN'S LAWN BOWLS
As if 2020 was a bad enough year for Lawn Bowls, 2021 is proving to be disastrous as far as being able to play our championships and tournaments.
So far we have been able to complete our Fours, Triples and Pairs Championships, our singles are yet to be completed with many tournaments now in doubt. Highlight of the past 12 months would have been the Sub-Club Life Membership presented to our current President – Warren Hopley. A well-deserved award for his overall support of our club in all aspects of lawn bowls and guidance in running our club. 2021 has also seen the merge of NSW Men’s and Women’s Bowls Association finally completed and now all of our Championships and Tournaments are now mixed. The Fours Championship was won by Nick Bihancov, Steve Smith, Terry Bleakley and Shane Farrell, with runners-up Wayne Dearing, John Kulczycki, Peter Beech and Warren Hopley. The Triples Championship was won by Peter White, John Kulczycki and Ken Tracey with Runners-up Steve Lennon, Greg Ryan and Matthew Crossland.
PAIRS:
The Major Pairs Championship was won by Peter Beech and Warren Hopley with runner-up Steve Smith and Shane Farrell. The Minor Pairs Championship was won by Warren Pitman and James Craig with runner-up Ivana Krope and Craig Sutton.
The Senior Pairs Championship was won by Fernando Diaz and Bob Reid with runners-up Denis Cooper and Peter Deans.
SINGLES:
The Senior Singles Championship was won by Peter Beech with runner-up John Kulczycki. At the time this report was compiled, The Major Singles were yet to completed, the Minor Singles still to be run. With the Covid-19 lockdown in place till at least the end of September, many of our annual tournaments are in doubt due to lack of time to complete by December. Let us hope 2022 will be a better year for all. To the members of all Mounties Sub-clubs – keep safe, keep well !
