Message from the Brother’s Keeper Committee Greetings Brothers, I want to extend a grateful thank you to Brother Joseph Housey for answering the call on the Brother Holbert project. Brother. Housey went to Brother Holbert’s home and completed the yard cutting project for our Brother’s Keeper Program. Brother Housey demonstrated the Fraternity Motto “First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All.” We must strategically awaken our minds to serving our senior community. One day, we will all become senior Brothers of the Chapter. I recently had a conversation with Brother A.J. Jones and Brother Larry Sanders about the transcending of the House. Recently, I did an
age demographic strategical analysis on the Brother ages in Mu Lambda. Our senior Brother’s represents 45% of the House. Brothers in my age bracket between 40 and 60 years of age represent the next highest level. At 41% are Brother’s in the age range of 25 to 40, making them 14% of the House. Within the next 5 to 10 years, Brothers in the age group between 40 and 60, with about five years away, will move closer to the Senior Bracket. So, here is a reality check. Brothers, we must not only get back to the work of Alpha; it’s time to begin to reopen the House and have more strategical conversations with the openmindedness of transcending the Chapter. If not, we will surely miss the opportunity to move Onwards and Upwards towards the Light.
