On this wonderful, escorted tour, you’ll journey through some of Britain’s most breathtaking landscapes, passing wild moors, towering peaks, and vast mystical lochs. Taking the famous Skye Bridge and journeying on through the ‘Misty Isle’, you’ll also cross by ferry to Harris and Lewis, where time, it seems, stands still and mysterious stones and fortifications dot the ancient land.
Beginning in the northwest Highlands, the tour also features a visit to one of Scotland’s crown jewels – the famous Gulf Stream-warmed Inverewe Garden – home to Scotland’s own ‘Big Five’, including the red squirrel, red deer, otter, seal, and golden eagle. Inverewe blazes with colour and offers several vantage points from which to enjoy the dramatic views across Loch Ewe. During a memorable day, you’ll also take in stunning landscapes that have drawn visitors to this magical corner of Britain for centuries. The journey through Skye passes the towering Cuillin Hills and includes a visit to the pretty main town of Portree, with its colour-washed houses, while Outer Hebridean Harris and Lewis boast a fascinating ‘Blackhouse village’, Carloway’s preserved ‘broch’, Callanish’s ancient stones and the wild, remote Butt of Lewis. A crossing back to mainland Ullapool, and a last scenic journey to the final hotel, close a few enchanting days in beautiful northwest Scotland.
