Our Community
VOLUNTEERS HELP CREATE A COMMUNITY GARDEN We are Incredible Education CIC, a not-for-profit social enterprise. Following the launch of Incredible Edible Salford in 2013 by Ian Bocock, there was clearly a need to strengthen the role that education and outdoor learning can play in the health and wellbeing of all. In 2014, Incredible Education CIC was founded, and over the past 8 years we have delivered many activities and programmes using Horticulture and Forest School to empower thousands of Salford people of all ages. In July 2021 we opened Cleavley Community Forest Garden in Winton, located next to Cleavley Athletic Track on the Port Salford Greenway. Here we offer a range of services, including ‘Stay and Play’ for 18 month to 4 year olds; Forest School sessions with local primary schools; Children’s Party packages; Horticulture wEducation; Volunteer Programmes and much more!
8 ON OUR DOORSTEP
More recently we launched The Ivy Den Café within the Forest Garden where we serve barista style coffee and artisan teas along with locally produced cakes. There is also a small Garden Shop where we sell gardening equipment, compost and plants. As a social enterprise we have strived to ensure our sustainability by adding services and activities that generate an income so that we aren’t wholly reliant on funding. This model will ensure we can continue to provide the many FREE community events such as our Summer Teddy Bears Picnic, the Pumpkin Palava in October and the Festive Mini Tree decorating event in December. We hope to welcome you to the Forest Garden soon! www.incredibleeducation.co.uk
