Stock Up for YourTiki Oasis Adventure
A Liquor Outpost on an Exotic Isle!
Get ready for an epic Tiki Oasis with provisions from Trader Mort’s! Embark on a journey through our store, exquisitely refurbished by Bamboo Ben, and indulge in the frosty delights of our new Beer Hut. Explore our extensive assortment of rums and other bewitching spirits that will invigorate your adventurous soul. And don’t forget to grab a Mr. Tiki mug, inspired by the legendary idol that watches over all who venture within our tropical paradise.
Welcome to Tiki
Whether you are above it, below it, or just beside it – The sea is full of life. Sea creatures and Sirens with alluring voices abound. Friendly fish and fancy tidepools dwellers frolic on the surface of The Enchanted Sea, but less benign beings lurk in the depths. Fathoms below the surface giant Angler Fish, ancient Kraken, and man-eating whales await unwitting divers, swimmers, and rum-soaked sailors that happen overboard.
Trust your Tiki Oasis Master Sea Captain, King Kukulele, and his crew to take the helm and chart a course for tranquil waters. King will have the help of seasoned seamen Tom Kenny & the Hi-Seas, and San Diego’s own Seabase.
We welcome on board our world-traveling guests who braved the high seas to make landfall on the shores of Tiki Oasis: Mixologist “Just Abby” left the Land Down Under, The Lucky Land, to tip her hand at Tiki Oasis; ; Global Rum Ambassador Ian Burrell hails from the safe harbor of London; the fearless sailors known as I Belli di Waikiki embarked from Italy; Messer Chups navigated from St. Petersburg, Russia; Ghoulygal set course from Canada; L´Exotighost voyaged from Madrid; The Charades circumnavigated from Finland; Sir Bald Diddley surfed in from the UK; Mohama Saz sailed from Madrid; and a great big “Ahoy!” to Man or Astroman? who are joining us from unknown parts of the universe!
If you’d rather be by the sea than upon it - then drop into Sven Kirsten’s Beachcomber seminar and learn all about flotsam and jetsam of Tiki bars. Whether they are searching for sea glass in the sand or finding fishnets, glass floats, or fish skeletons on the shores, Beachcombers are the backbone of Tiki bar decor, bringing their sea debris back home. This year at Tiki Oasis we host the world’s most famous Beachbum, Jeff Berry hailing from the port city of New Orleans
By far the most entrancing element of any enchanted sea is the sultry saltwater mermaids. Often honored as Figureheads of famous ships, no sea party would be complete without mermaids. This year at Tiki Oasis you will have many opportunities to rub fins with mermaids from around the country. Meet America’s most famous mermaid, MeduSirena the Fire-Eating Mermaid, Wednesday night at the Opening Party which features a mermaid photo op; Mark your calendar for Saturday at 3pm for the Mermaid Meet-Up at the main pool
Dare to dive in, or at least dip your toe in, and enjoy Tiki Oasis, The Enchanted Sea.
Sincerely,
Otto & Baby DoeGunpowder Tea & IRISH CURIOSITY

History of Swimwear
Dive in with Dave Temple as he explores the history of swimwear. As stated by Google Arts & Culture, Few items of clothing have been as revolutionary, or as risqué, as the swimsuit. From full body coverage to the itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini, swimsuits have seen endless creative innovations that allow us to take a dip into the water while also looking like we’re walking on a Paris runway. But do you know how we really got to the bikini we all know and love today?
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM • T&C Ballroom E • $15
Dave Temple
Dave Temple, fashion historian, and theatrical costumer, has presented seminars and vintage fashion shows from coast to coast; and has lectured and written about vintage attire for decades in conjunction with his company, Clever Vintage Clothing. His previous seminars, Fashion and the History of Travel and California: Sportswear Capitol, led to exhibits at The Museum at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising).
Mysterious Marriage of Coffee & Tropical Cocktails
Coffee is a fascinating, diverse, and intriguing ingredient. From Irish Coffee to Espresso Martini, it became a part of some of the most iconic bartenders’ creations. But did you know that coffee has a history in Tropical Cocktails? In this seminar
Egor Polonskiy will break down coffee cocktails from Don the Beachcomber’s “Kona Coffee Grog” to the Mai-Kai “Black Magic” and why they work! He will also cover modern coffee cocktail techniques using coffee in syrups, infusions, and tinctures.
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM • T&C Ballroom C • $15
Egor Polonskiy is the West Coast Manager of Trade Education and Mixology for Patrón Tequila. He has dedicated many years to the study of tequila and the diverse world of spirits. Egor specializes in tequila education, conducting mixology events, training, and presenting spirit-focused seminars. He is WSET 3rd-level spirits certified, an alumnus of the BAR5 program, and an active United States Bartenders Guild member.

What is the secret to Tiki Oasis? Well it is all the amazing people that are involved that help to create and make this fun-fueled weekender such a success! The artists, makers and shakers! The sponsors, bands, disc jockeys, presenters, volunteers, dancers, mixologists and all of YOU! Special shout out to our hotel host The Town and Country Resort - we love it here! And to our crew (see below) who really go above and beyond, working for weeks to make this weekend be the best it can be. Finally, we’d like to thank our sons Vander and Dashiell who have gone from “tolerating our working vacations” toparticipating as part of the production team!
