Fourth Annual Islamorada Drive and Brunch by Cynthia Fluhart, SecretaryDRIVE & DINE TO ISLAMORADA FISH COMPANY ON JANUARY 8 TH FOUR ANNUAL
The day started out a bit soggy for the drive to the Keys, but the weather cleared up and the temperature and breeze were perfect. From all the feedback of our members, the fourth annual Drive & Dine to Islamorada was a big hit. We set a new record for attendance with over 180 members enjoying the sun, sand and seafood. Due to the big turnout, we had two group departures from both the Miami and Davie locations. We want to give a big thank you to five volunteers who received the waivers for registrants at the meeting points and lead the groups safely to Islamorada. Those volunteers were Mike Del Pozo, Steve Kidd, Ed Kohly, Christy Spangler and Rick Veingrad. Together as a team, members really enjoyed the day. Many of us also went to Gilbert’s in Key Largo to continue the fun and enjoy the live music and drinks. Due to the popularity of the event and for those who wanted to attend but could not, in July we plan to have the event again with the two different arrival times so more members can enjoy the event. Some of us may drive to Key West after lunch for an overnight stay. We will get a date from the restaurant and check on a hotel for a group rate.
