Community Service: I serve our community professionally and have performed pro bono work for individuals in need throughout my legal career. I have fundraised for families blessed with their children who have Autism- Autism Speaks, FEAT, PAVE,

Statement: I fell in love with Bonney Lake when I moved here from Texas in 1999 to be closer to my daughter. I have watched our community develop over the last 22 years. While proud of our progress, Bonney Lake suffers from growing pains. We have unsightly overdevelopment that needs to be addressed. We have a growing traffic issue. We have questionable utility imbalances. We have underdeveloped greenspace that needs attention. These issues are concerning.

Bonney Lake needs balance. We need balance in our development--- balancing our local Small Business Owners with all of the national chains invading our greenspace; balance in our utility payments---specifically addressing why we pay so much more than our neighbors for water and sewage; balance in our neighborhoods--why our city is allowing so much residential development without addressing the infrastructure to support our ever growing traffic. Our residents deserve a government that will address these imbalances.

As Mayor, I will also direct focus toward enhancing our Community Identity. Bonney Lake residents deserve local enrichment--more that everyone in our community can call ours.

Bonney Lake also deserves transparency from their leaders. Let’s balance Bonney Lake together!! For continuing information, please visit my website.

Statement: By law the Mayor’s duties include the day to day operations of the city & being the City Spokesperson. Mayor’s are responsible for hiring, retention & performance of all city employees. Case Law makes having highly qualified & knowledgeable employees very important.

All City Council meetings should be televised. City offices should be open 5 days/8 hours/day every week except holidays. City Goals & Statement of Operations should be posted, with responsible official so people can comment. I would encourage those people with something to offer to step forward & be involved in the growth of the city, I believe the city needs more volunteer opportunities. There are multiple ways to accomplish desired results, a satisfactory end result should always be the goal.

Ongoing operations always need attention. The city needs to encourage their business owners & provide assistance wherever possible. Areas of the city needing attention are more parks, a viable trail system, Roads, Potable Water, Water Rights, Stormwater, Sewer Fees & costs, sustainable finance, controlled spending & the negotiations process.

I have the toolbox & experience to make things happen. I will represent your interests. Your vote can make that happen.

Statement: I am a 48 year old lifelong resident of Buckley. I married the love of my life in 1997. We built our family home on acreage originally purchased by my grandfather, in the spring of 1943 while felling and bucking timber for St. Regis near Orting. My wife and I have 4 beautiful daughters, making them the 4th generation to live on our little piece of dirt in Buckley.

I have and continue to devote much time, helping Buckley maintain the exceptional quality of life that truly makes Buckley a great place to live, and raise a family. Buckley will continue to be a place where neighbors help each other, and a city government that operates in that spirit.

From throwing a Buckley paper route at age 12 and working at local fuel/ service stations to Mud Mountain and Howard Hansen Dams and Weyerhaeuser, I shall bring a common sense perspective of a working man to our city government. As the mayor I will bring a collaborative, team building and transparent approach to our city government. Growth in Buckley is as inevitable as it is welcomed, but must be managed to keep Buckley the unique bedroom community it is.

Statement: In all honesty, I have no experience as a mayor or political candidate. I am single mom to four kids living peacefully in Buckley. I love this town whole-heartedly. I would like to see the council do better and work for the people in this city. I would like our families and the new comers to enjoy this small city. I would like to watch it grow into a fantastic place to live and people enjoy their neighborhoods and our great schools with what we have to offer. We need to support small businesses especially after they took a hit from 2020-2021. We could do much better than what has been done the last few years and that includes supporting families, businesses, and schools.

Elected Experience: Buckley City Council Position #1 2018-present

Other Professional Experience: Retired Seattle Police Sergeant; I served 10-years as an elected member of the Seattle Police Officers Guild Board of Directors; with the following roles on the Executive Board: 3-years as Sec/Treasurer and 2 1/2 years as President. In these roles I had fiduciary responsibilities for over a $1.2 million operating budget as well as over an $8 million dollar Benefit Trust. Additionally, I was also elected and served two terms as President of the Council of Metropolitan Police/Sheriffs.

Education: Associates Degree from Pierce College 1989.

Community Service: Active in my church, the Summit EFC.

Statement: It has been my pleasure to serve the people of Buckley the past 3 1/2 years as a member of the City Council. When I ran for Position #1 in 2017 I indicated my top priorities were public safety and improving city parks. I was able to form a majority of the council to ensure that the brave men and women of Buckley PD received a fair collective bargaining agreement with a wage package geared toward retention and recruitment.

During this term, I was tapped to be the sole council member to serve on the search committees for City Administrator and Police Chief. The past two years I have served as Chair of the Administration, Finance and Public Safety Committee of the Council, as well as Mayor Pro-Tem in the Mayor’s absence.

Earlier this year when a teen in our community suffered fatal injuries pursuant to an accident at the skate park, I requested legislation be drafted mandating helmets while operating wheeled recreational devices within the city, such as skateboards at the Buckley Skate Park.

I am proud of my service on behalf of the people pf Buckley. I would appreciate your vote to keep the work going. Thank You!

Education: G.E.D. and my mentors

Community Service: The Buckley Christmas Tree Auction @ The Eagles. Team Charlotte

Statement: I was challenged to become more a part of home by my wife. I had just hours to put my name into our community. A few know me and/or of me. Hi ! I’m Jason. I would like to get to know you, I don’t have that much time. I have been employed for some 20 years for a fantastic family run business. I am thankful every day to them that I am able to provide my family with this home. Here in Buckley.

In everyday life I attempt to gather all the information provided to me and make the best analytical decision. More often than not there are some important questions that need to be answered with swift decision making skills that challenge me.

I look forward to learning from my neighbors who are my mentors along with the current sitting and exiting council members, I challenge you to continue to work for our community. I researched what a heritage community is and wonder if we still are built on these values? Am I able to do anything better? I’ve been here long enough to call this.. My home. Welcome to Buckley. Other Professional Experience: Costco Wholesale since 2016, the last 3 years as a Benefits Coordinator at the Costco Corporate offices. Before my employment with Costco, I worked as staff member at Rainier State School.

Education: No Information Submitted

Community Service: Volunteered at St. John the Baptist Church in Covington, WA as a youth group leader (for high school age teenagers) and a member of the RCIA team.

Statement: I moved to this beautiful small town of Buckley six years ago with my wife Jessi from Covington, WA. We are a family of five that includes our son Jordan (who is four years old) and our two dogs Dexter and Axel. Since moving here in 2014, I have noticed an influx in the population, our town is not as thriving as it once was, and there does not seem to be as many options for activities for all age groups. If elected, I would push for more community based activities for all ages by working with the Youth Center and Senior Center, work on revitalizing our parks and work with the city and all the wonderful small businesses (old and new) to bring new life to main street and return it to its former self.
