“We came. We saw. We were sold. That was the beginning of an amazing friendship and journey with Sun Health that Jim Greenwald and I feel so blessed to share. What domino effects the crusaders of Sun Health have had on my life. Once again fate brought me to meet another Sun Health crusader - Shirley Frizell. She happened to be one of my new neighbors living in my building. Knowing nothing about Surprise, the Sun Health Foundation or their connection to The Colonnade, Shirley introduced me to the Sun Health Organization. There is no way I can fully thank her and all the Sun Health “angels” who watched over Paul and me during his illness and death. Nor can I begin to repay all the service, care and comfort having Sun Health watching over us has given to me. They say God gives us what we need when we need it and I thank Him every day for leading me to my wonderful forever home/neighbors and guardians under the Sun Health umbrella.”
~ Gracie Carter
“To tell the truth, I lived at The Colonnade for four years and knew very little about the Sun Health Foundation or what it did. Over a period of four years, my late wife Linda and I spent more time at Banner Boswell Medical Center, Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center, and Sun Health Grandview Rehabilitation Center than we did at our home at The Colonnade. All I wanted to do was find a way to thank the doctors, nurses, and CNAs for her care. But I didn’t know how until one person who had created a Sun Health Foundation legacy, had served on a Sun Health Foundation committee, and was passionate in her desire to repay the organization for all the care her partner had received, explained it all to me. The reason I’ve shared my story, or set up my Legacy, or I’m donating my Required Minimum Distribution from my IRA, or the reason I’m talking to you now is because of Gracie Carter, a resident of The Colonnade. She walked the walk, as they say, and she talks the talk. Donors inspiring donors. One person, who is committed to Philanthropy, convincing another to follow their lead. To join them and the Sun Health Foundation in contributing to the community. It becomes a domino effect and spreads.”
