Our aim is to highlight all aspects of what it is to be a Tabler - and the lives we live. Both inside and outside of Round Table. We are a group of men from all corners of the world - and we all have stories to tell. What's your story?

I had the privilege to join Round Table exactly five years ago - and before that I had never heard of this great organisation. But it didn't take long before I went in head first. I have to quote a friend of mine, the current President of Round Table Sweden: "How many new best friends does one make after hitting 30?". Outside of Round Table I doubt there are many who has. This is why i think this is such a great quote. Round table does not only create friendships - it creates best friends. As the saying goes - in Round Table you meet old friends for the first time. During my five years as a Tabler, I've come across some great leaders. Every single

applied both on club level and during my three years as an editor on my national board. All positions within Round Table has it's challenges - and a good leader and a good team can boost your confidence and you'll be able to overcome all sorts of challenges. The theme for this year is Stronger Together - a theme I can truly stand behind. Legacy would not be possible without teamwork. A huge effort have been made by the RTI Marketing team led by the brilliant Mr Paul Hoeksema, P.R.O, George Marin, Content Manager, and our RTI President Mr Graham Cornelissen. But to make a magazine come to life you need great content - and that is something that comes from you Tablers out there. This is a magazine for you - by you. Me and the whole team behind this first issue of Legacy hope that you'll feel inspired, educated, and hopeful for the year that is ahead of us. I do. Yours in table

A NEW BEGINNING By GRAHAM CORNELISSEN, Round Table International President, 2021-2022

DEAR BROTHERS, I am very proud to share our new magazine with you: Legacy: The Official Magazine of RTI. We have decided to focus significantly more on the user experience when dealing with our members. The quality of the experience with Round Table will be improved during this year. This will permeate throughout the entire year across multiple fronts. Legacy will have fewer editions than prior years but will be filled with much higher quality content. We aim to create a more enjoyable experience for the reader by sharing articles that inspire and educate. New sections are included here that promote engagement and provide a holistic lifestyle approach for our members. Associations are no longer required to send in articles for specific editions. However, associations can elect to send in high-quality articles for our consideration at any time. Our RTI University training, as detailed later on, is focused on providing value to members through high-quality sessions being offered under the leadership of Sachin. The focus is on how to improve the every day tabling life of our members as well as to impart real-world skills to yourself. Tabler.World and the related App is another critical focus area this year. We have planned the largest number of developments in a single year, specifically focusing on making the user experience better and more valuable. Thomas and his team of DCO’s are working tirelessly to evolve this platform for future generations. The entire team has been bustling on their respective portfolios, and we have decided to share only some of these updates in this edition of Legacy. Please read through the magazine to see what we have been up to. The upcoming HYM in Morocco between the 9th and the 13th of March 2022 in Marrakech, Morocco, will be the first time a major RTI event will take place in two years. The convening team and the RTI Board are excited to see you there and share this unforgettable experience with all of you. During the early parts of November, the RTI Executive board visited Denmark to engage with the convening team and to have a board meeting. Words cannot express how big the RTIWM 2022 will be – this indeed will be a once in a lifetime event never to forget. We will also present a new format on running RTI meetings, focussing on making the events more engaging, shorter and entertaining. All of the planned work for the year can only be done when team members come together for the common good. Over the last few months, I have been privileged to work with a fantastic team that truly embraces the theme of StrongerTogether and whose primary focus is on serving our membership. Our theme of the year is StrongerTogether. Petty squabbles and internal politics have held us back for far too long. I urge everyone to put this behind us and to unite.

THE POWER OF SMALL ACTIONS By Mr JAYANT AGRAWAL, Round Table International Vice President, 2021-2022

"The more emotional you are in a situation, the more memories you will have of that situation in the long run." – Abhijit Naskar MOST OF US CAN RELATE to the above quote during our career as Tablers. The tabling experience of brotherhood and oneness when we meet and greet fellow brothers becomes so close to us that we cherish and build it for most of our life. As we very well think of the present, it is of utmost importance to start thinking of the future. Our membership scenario in the last ten years definitely puts up a question on our contribution towards our vision and, more importantly, the responsibility each of us has in keeping the legacy alive and moving with flying colours. As most of us retire in the next five years, it is high time each member of the fraternity gives that extra thought and finds new prospects for our movement. As we grow and put our footsteps in new places on the world map, existing associations must take due care with strategic succession planning. Simple activities such as talking about the movement to personal and professional contacts and following programs like Each-One-Bring-One can be a good start. Realizing and promoting the bottom-up approach of our movement, every association should prioritize extension as an essential factor of the plans and their execution. The RTI Board is already empowering the regional teams to focus on growth with a "Qualitative Quantity" policy and planning and implementing new ways to incentivize the growth through Explore Round Table and restructuring the WMC fund. Further, the RTI University provides the necessary training and tools to empower the associations to develop and retain their members. We have seen many successful strategies implemented by associations concerning membership extension. Such practices should be shared and implemented after making adjustments based on the local dynamics. It is only through collaborative efforts at each level that RTI can increase the numbers by at least 5% globally to provide a strong base for the future. Finally I would like to quote, "Because maybe I don't want to leave the planet invisible. Maybe I need one person to remember something about me." - Carul Ritka Brunt. I keep all of you with an open thought by replacing planet with tabling and how a small effort of yours can make a big difference. Yours in table

CEE REGION LIVES STRONGER TOGETHER By MARC GERMESHAUSEN, CEE Chairman 2021-2022

DEAR TABLERS, Taking up the role as a Regional Chairman brings a great combination of pleasure and tasks with you. On one side, you can serve the movement and bring in your own ideas for our wonderful organization, and on the other side, you are setting your focus on implementing the 3-years plan as well as supporting your associations and Round Table International. Since the end of September, I have been delighted to be working with amazing gents in the RTI Board, nine associations from my region and an excellent CEE team. In the middle of October, we could implement the CEETM in Bielefeld, Germany. Over 300 Tablers and ladies joined the event. It is impossible to describe such an event in words, as this was a unique opportunity to live the fellowship again after nearly one and a half years. Covid-19 forced us to postpone or cancel loads of events and activities. It was such a pleasure to meet so many people from the region and guests from around the world. During the meeting, I presented to the councillors the CEE team of the year. This year, the CEE region is getting support from Adam Fitt (RTBI) as secretary and Membership Officer, Stephan Zipperlen (RT Germany) as PRO and Gottfried Lumpi (RT Germany) as CSO. These motivated young men will assist all members and associations within the region. My goals for the year are very realistic. We, as a team, need to support the region and the associations that form a part of it. Furthermore, we need to strengthen regional awareness regarding Social Media and within the associations. During the process of inaugurating new associations or within potential countries, we should share our RT magazines so that our new members get a bigger picture of the Round Table Family. CEE topics should be shared within national magazines that everybody is on the same page within the region. If we are expanding, expansion should be sustainable. We should share best practices within the region as we don’t need to invent the wheel over again. Associations should be involved in decision-making processes to be Stronger Together.

Currently, we have four ongoing expansion projects within the region. We are back on track in the Czech Republic. Sixteen potential members are meeting in Prague every two weeks. Soon, I plan to visit and support them, so we set the final

still gathering people until we get a great mass to continue with the inauguration.

Albania already set a high goal with their inauguration at the end of October. We are happy to see them soon as a part of our family. We can only achieve more if we are Stronger Together. The theme our president Graham chose this year is represented in every little step we are trying to achieve. We can reach for the stars and collaborate, grow and fasten our relationships when we are fulfilling the theme of being Stronger Together. Yours in table

OUR REGION IS RESTARTING By ALEKSANDER OTTOKAR, NEA Chairman 2021-2022

AT THE BEGINNING of October, Round Table Suomi Finland had the pleasure of hosting the Round Table Northern Europe & Americas Regional Meeting 2021. Following the meeting, we are proud to announce that Pierre Mörck of Round Table Sweden will be our incoming NEA Chairman. Our most recent meeting's main focus was our 3-year plan. It is very important that all NEA Associations agree on a plan that will keep the momentum going from year to year and to ensure we are going in the right direction as a region. The NEA Region's priorities in 2021-2023 include: Increasing Members and Associations. Promoting fellowships and travel within the region Sharing of knowledge Branding of the highest quality As NEA Chairman, I cannot achieve any of these goals by myself, this must be done with the help of my fellow Tablers. The decline in membership will continue if we fail to act together. To highlight, Norway has demonstrated great practices, where even the pandemic acted as a catalyst to go above and beyond, their membership grew by 11.7 percent in the last year. In addition to sharing these practices with other Associations, we will be working on ways to build & sustain a strong Club. I hope that this will provide a solid foundation for growing and strengthening our Region. Communication is key this year as we are still limited to travel and meeting up for fellowship events in person. This being said, we have created WhatsApp groups for all Associations in the Region to create a direct line to the Chairman. Of course, we are also working on expansion. We have most recently, expanded to Mexico. There are two sites that already have a great group of men seeking to become members of our great organization. Clear your schedules & grab your sombreros Brothers, we're heading to Mexico! We are also trying to establish E-clubs in Round Table Canada. This is primarily due to the distances between prospects and members who are moving to Canada being so great that this could help us grow the association.

Additionally, it's great to see our region traveling. Several of us attended the RTIWM 2021 in Dubai. Round Table Denmark won Magazine of the Year . And Association of the Year went to Round table Norway. Congratulations to both

A PREVIEW OF THE COMING HYM By NICHOLAS GOMEZ, SEM Chairman 2021-2022

BROTHERS, In approximately three months’ time, Round Table International will be having its first in person Half Yearly Meeting in since Luxembourg in 2020. The March 2022 HYM will be taking place in the beautiful city of Marrakech in Morocco. For those of you who haven’t already seen what Thami and the guys in Round Table Morocco have lined up for us in March, I urge you to visit the website – www. rtihym2022.com - you will be astounded by what’s on offer! For those of you that like to see the country before the meeting, there are no less than 4 distinct pre-tours on offer; the North, the South, the East, and the West. In the North, you will be taken to the beautiful city of Chefchaouen (the city of blue buildings), then make your way up to Tetouan (where you will have a cultural visit of historical sites) and finish in Tangier. In the South you will be taken to see the largest desert in the world, the Sahara (which actually means “desert”!). You will be taken to the Dades Valley, Merzouga and Ouarzazate (look it up on google – it looks incredible!). In the East, you will be taken to the Ouzoud Waterfalls in the Atlas mountains (seriously google it..) where you will enjoy water based activities. In the West you will see the Atlantic coast of Morocco. Here you will be taken to Agadir and Essaouira (known for its beaches and surfing). Then after a hugely enjoyable pre tour there is the HYM itself. This HYM however is different…it is a 5 dawy HYM. The seasoned travelling Tabler knows what to expect from this. The first night is a welcome party and Marrakech by night. The second day is the Councillors Meeting (for delegates) and by night we are all treated to an Arabian night with a dinner show. The third day is the HYM itself (for delegates) after which there is a pool party in the afternoon and my personal favourite, in the evening there is Nations Night. For those who haven’t experienced a Nations Night before, it is simply put, a culinary delight! Each of RTI’s 53 nations sets up a food stall and cooks some of their own local delicacies. You spend a night tasting and drinking food from around the world.

The fourth day is the regional meetings and as is the custom only in the SEM region, the SEM regional meeting will be held in a jacuzzi / swimming pool. That evening is the Gala Event, black tie and looking sharp! Whilst us delegates are in meetings, the others will be able to enjoy from a wide range of activities like, hot air ballooning, wakeboarding, quad driving and sightseeing in Marrakech. There is something for everyone. The hotel itself is the 5 star renowned Kenzi Rose Garden hotel, all inclusive. Thami and the guys have organised, what looks to be, an amazing holiday for us all in Marrakech. I look forward to seeing old friends for the first time and know that this will be a HYM that none of us will soon forget. Yours in table

SERVICE THROUGH FELLOWSHIP By AVIRAL JAIN, ASPA Chairman 2021-2022

“INTEGRATE, INCLUDE AND CO-CREATE.” - The ASPA Region's mantra & belief for the new term. With the wide diversity in the territory, diverse populations, and Association sizes, integration, and fellowship are what has always made ASPA a very vibrant and hospitable region. ASPA region has always enjoyed community service and has truly lived by the motto of “Service through fellowship.” We saw a wide variety of initiatives with the beach clean ups of RT Sri Lanka, freedom through education RTI Week of RT India, Flight of Fantasy by RT Nepal, bicycle stunt show for awareness against drug abuse by RT Bangladesh were some amazing highlights in the last two months. Despite the fact that the region suffered a major loss due to covid and faced a lot of restrictions, it is extremely nice to see that physical fellowship is back. RT Hong Kong had a bbq fellowship where they invited charities to pitch what they need. An excellent way to showcase what Round Table stands for. Growth is a major vision of the year and the region is leaving no stones unturned in this domain. With RT India, RT Nepal & RT Sri Lanka take a lead in chartering new tables the region is growing stronger & wider. Leadership & personality development training has always been an integral part of the region. National Leadership Conclave & Train the Trainer programs are hosted by RT India & it’s a great gesture to open them for the regional associations to nominate participants for it. We aim to make the best of the present situation and keep fellowship in the forefront to make sure we all relive the tabling pre-covid. National AGMs is an excellent opportunity to visit the other associations and experience fellowship at its best. So let’s make the most of it. We look forward to catching up with the brothers across borders with the world opening up along with all precautions necessary. Yours in table

GREETINGS FELLOW BROTHERS, Firstly, let me thank all the associations within the AMI Region for blessing me with the opportunity to serve them and be their representative on the RTI level. It is indeed a great honour to represent one of the most diverse Regions in the Round Table World. This year the challenge is simple; commit myself to work without rest to push forth the RTI and the AMI Region plans and objectives for the betterment of the Associations in the Region. However, to achieve this, each Tabler must see himself as a catalyst to the progression of our movement and do their fair bit by participating actively in their Association’s and Club’s program including RTI and Regional programs. The 2021-22 AMI term kicked off with a series of consultations to take stock of the current situation of the Associations regarding the initiation and implementation of community projects, Tabler World usability, membership status/challenges, and public relations and visibility. Feedback from the different consultations is being used to formulate and implement an action plan for the year to help the different Associations in their areas of need. In addition, to identify strengths of the organisation that can be shared with others to ensure continual Tabling improvement across the Region. The AMI Region is a vibrant region with so many things happening on the different fronts, from the building of schools, the building of a dormitory, blood donations, charity golf tournaments, financing health care including health care equipment, conservation (reforestation ‘planting of trees’), supporting educational projects, producing educational books, chartering of new Tables, numerous fellowship events, the list goes on... AMI's main goal for the year is growth and positive publicity of our great work and fellowship. The Region is committed to ensuring that our movement does not become history in the near future. We want to remain relevant as a Region, continue to inspire young like-minded young men, to consider Tabling as a way of life that will be beneficial to the community, personally, professionally, and socially. Stronger Together is what our mindset should be across the board, if we want

Sounds corny, but it's a simple and fun game where you'll easily spend 30-60 min playing. Maybe not something you'll play all night, but perfect for kicking off a game night.

Simple and fun game that can be played on both mobile and desktop, should become avalaible to some consoles as well. It is a cross-platform game, which means that mobiles and computers can play together. A fun game where you are on a space station, everyone plays a character, but one in the group is a killer. Find and throw out the killer from the space station before he kills too many in the group! If you think this game is fun, I can warmly recommend a similar game with something more fun and advanced - Project Winter (PC / Xbox).

SHOBU R AT I N G : ●●●●●○○ This is an abstract strategy game for two players, if you like Chess you will probably like Shobu! Very easy to learn even if the brain needs a round to start thinking in the right way. The game is nice and consists of 4 smaller wooden game boards and a bunch of black / white stones. We also plan to arrange physical training sessions at the HYM and the WM during the year. We have successfully conducted the Table Talk on Operation Head Hunter during October, with many more to come. STRONGER TOGETHER I LOVE LADIES’ CIRCLE. The past nine years it has taken up most of my spare time, and if you don’t tell my bosses, I’ll admit that it has taken up quite a lot of my working hours as well. So, it is not just a hobby to me; it’s a way of life. Yet when an “outsider” asks me what it is about LC that makes me so hooked, I find it difficult to answer, at least in just a few words. I am a third-generation Circler, which means my mother and grandmother were both Circlers and, as was natural for the times, their husbands were Tablers. I grew up knowing the strong friendships my parents found through our organizations. To this day, they still meet with the brothers and sisters they met when they were my age. I can only hope that the friendships I’m forming in my active years will stand as strong and loyal as I have witnessed my parents experience. Friendship is one of the words included in the motto of Ladies’ Circle – ‘Friendship and Service’. When I grew up, I struggled to find friends. The openness, acceptance and inclusiveness I have found in the Round Table Family are so precious and beautiful to me, and it makes me so proud. My membership in Ladies’ Circle has given me opportunities that I could have never dreamed of, whether it’s visiting a company that 3D prints hip joints, going swimming in the Norwegian Sea in February, dressing up as a cowgirl in Denmark, going to a charity ball by the Windsor Castle or shooting Rhum in a bathroom. The list can be made much longer, but my point is that these are experiences my “civilian” friends don’t have easy access to. On the other hand, I have to decline invitations because there is simply not enough time to do everything I want. My life is so much richer, thanks to Ladies’ Circle. During these explorations, I have met some of my best friends, which is what makes them so precious. We are from different parts of the world, with varying life situations and organizations, but we share a passion. Sharing what we can to enrich others’ lives. So, when Graham contacted me and said that one of his goals was to strengthen side-by-side work, I said, “Count me in!”. I’ve seen and lived a fraction of what we already do together, but imagine what we could do if we all had that same focus! The CSO portfolio for the year kicked off on a high note. With hundreds of ideas and the overwhelming experience of being part of the RTI board, it was time to put all the thoughts into ideas and projects and take action.

URING THE 2020/2021 term, Paul Vreeburg and the rest of the RTI Board reinvented the CSO portfolio. On a global scale, service to the community was formally rolled out and divided into five pillars. Those would be Conservation, Education, Health, Poverty and Tabler for Tabler. The plans submitted

to the RTI Board were approved, and the idea is to run at least one project per pillar for the year to come. This was because not all associations focus on the same type of events. Some associations build schools while others focus on raising food and funds for the homeless and the less fortunate. Therefore, we've decided to allow everyone to do at least one project, regardless of your associations' focus, whilst encouraging all associations to do more.The marketing and branding team met our ideas with plenty of enthusiasm. We can all agree that the publicity on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have been nothing but superb. All content was created timeously, with medical precision and attention to detail, and the professionalism and dedication the rondel rightly deserves. SO OUR FIRST PROJECT got underway, which was the waste challenge. It was also the first in a line-up of side-by-side projects planned for the year. All five Round Table family members partook in this, and it was a great success. We ran from the 1st to the 19th of September 2021. What a way to honour World Clean-up Day. We specifically thank the members of Ladies' Circle and how they have embraced this project and truly live up to our combined theme for the year of being "Stronger Together". We saw terrific projects on social media. Everything from floating sea bins taking trash from the ocean and floating on the surface to joint beach clean-ups. Thank you, and a big shout out to everyone who partakes. THEN IT WAS TIME FOR MOVEMBER. This project is close to heart as it affects us all somehow or the other. Round Table has supported the Movember foundation for a very long time now. After careful planning, we rolled out Movember to focus on awareness for men's health. The three focus areas were Prostate Cancer, Testicular Cancer and men's mental health and suicide prevention. Did you know that since 2003 more than 6 million people partook in this initiative, raised more than €409 million, and funded more than 1250 men's health projects?

THINGS TO SEE FINNMARK

Finnmark is the northernmost and easternmost county in Norway (Svalbard is not considered a county). By area, Finnmark is Norway's largest county, even larger than the neighboring country of Denmark. However, with a population of about 75,000, it is also the least populated of all Norwegian counties. Finnmark has a total coastline of 6,844 kilometres, including 3,155 kilometres of coastline on the islands. Nearly 12,300 people or 16.6 percent of the county's population in 2000 was living in the 100-meter belt along the coastline. In Round Table its three clubs in this area. Oslo, the capital of Norway, sits on the country’s southern coast at the head of the Oslofjord. It’s known for its green spaces and museums. Many of these are on the Bygdøy Peninsula, including the waterside Norwegian Maritime Museum and the Viking Ship Museum, with Viking ships from the 9th century. The Holmenkollbakken is a ski-jumping hill with panoramic views of the fjord. It also has a ski museum. Round table have clubs in and around Oslo. D UA L T H E M E COI N S ROUND TABLE International and Ladies Circle International has agreed to a joint theme for the year. The theme of StrongerTogether showcases our shared values and goals, while the unique designs of the theme show that we are still separate organisations. To celebrate this joint theme, we have created a limitededition coin with the different designs of the joint theme on each side. Stock is very limited, and these coins can only be obtained by attending an official side-by-side meeting. Tablers can only receive the coin from a board member of LCI, and Circlers can only get this coin from a member of the RTI Board. This encourages all members to join our sister organisation events for an opportunity to own an extremely rare piece of International regalia.

E X PLO R E RO U N D TA B L E THE RTI MEETING IN LUXEMBOURG at the start of 2020 was the last time that the international Tabling community could get together. In the 20 months since then, and despite all our efforts, we have not been able to have any physical get together. We have budgeted € 23,400, funded from reserves, to subsidise travel of 78 members with an amount of € 300 each. Each Tabling association will be eligible to claim. The 78 members is allocated to each association based on the number of members as per their June 2021 membership numbers. For every part of 1,000 members, one member will be eligible to travel. We call this “Explore Round Table”. Travel can be done between the RTIWM 2021 and the RTIWM 2022 and must be as follows: Visit of a member to another Round Table association and attendance at any of their events. This cannot be combined with any current RTI travel grants or another form of RTI funding. The person travelling must after completion of the visit, write a minimum of a 300 word report to be submitted to their regional chairman. The idea is to send a member who would otherwise not have an opportunity to travel to a fellow Round Table association to build the bonds of fellowship and be inspired. National associations can elect who to allocate these funds too. Associations are encouraged to engage with each other to invite and host Tablers to their events. Should any association not utilise their claims, the unclaimed amounts will revert back into the reserves. We call on all associations to grab this funding for exploring our international brotherhood with both hands and to reach our to any RTI Board member if any more information is required.
