The Pause treatment menu includes: Cosmetic Injectables including Anti Wrinkle & Dermal Filler, PDO Mono Threads, Collagen Stimulators Advanced skin treatments such as SkinPen®, Tixel®, Chemical Peels, Hydrabrasion, LED Light Therapy & Luxury Bespoke Facials. “In our busy and fast-paced lifestyles, there is rarely any time to press pause, to take time for oneself,” says Rajdi. “It is so important to relax, recharge and refresh. Pause Mediclinic was born in the hope that you will take a step back from the chaos of the day-to-day and feel all the better for it. At Pause, we are all heart-centred clinicians who strive for perfection in our services. Everyone is welcome and everyone is worthy.” When it comes to skincare essentials, you can’t go past sunscreen, says Rajdi. “It has a dual role in preventing UVA rays which cut our collagen like laser beams and in turn create lines and wrinkles. UVB rays are what burn us and lead to skin damage and pigmentation.” Also effective for holding back the hands of time is active cosmeceutical skincare, which simply means products that are not only results driven but need to be prescribed. “We assess the skin not only by looking at it but also asking specific assessment questions and looking at the skin using special lights that can ‘see’ what is happening under the surface of the skin,” she explains. “The science behind these products aids with the delivery, targets the cause and can also help turn the cells off in the skin to stop making the pigment." “Skin treatments depend on the skin quality and pigmentation that each individual presents with. We have state of the art equipment, matched with our in-depth skin knowledge and experience to tailor an individual treatment regime. We are not a cookie cutter clinic! One size does not fit all.”After sessions of treatment, how can we prevent the return of pigmentation and age spots?
Rajdi says “skincare & sunscreen!” “This is so important. With certain pigment issues that includes not getting sunburnt on other parts of your body. Sadly, people think that if they protect their face, that will keep them protected. But if you suffer from hormonal pigmentation such as Melasma, then sunscreen needs to be worn all over your body to help keep the pigmentation on your face at bay." “Some skincare helps with enzymes in the skin making the melanin (brown spots), while other skincare can stop the production of melanin at the DNA level and yet another type can help to fade the pigment.” For targeted anti-ageing, volumising threads have been shown to work wonders. “Voluming threads are made of the material used in dissolvable stitches, called polydioxanone,” says Rajdi. “The same material used in the smaller, thinner threads called mono threads that help to rejuvenate the skin. As the name suggests, volumising threads help to add structure to the face. We have been using them as an alternative to filler. One thread is equivalent to half a syringe of filler (0.5ml)."
building their self-confidence. They start as shy kids, avoiding eye contact, and slowly become more engaging and familiar with us. “The ‘Pause Difference’ is twofold – we treat everyone who walks through the door as if they are a long lost friend. Why? Because we acknowledge their ability to come somewhere new and the trust they put in us to treat them. Secondly, we only offer treatments that are tried and tested on us first. “We wholeheartedly believe in every treatment and product that we offer. We often hear how women don’t feel like they have had their concerns heard, that they have been made to feel ‘not good enough’ or ‘too far gone’ which is just heart breaking. “In all honesty, I think people relate to us. We take our role very seriously and are acutely aware of people’s vulnerability. We are all about building confidence.”
“Specific areas include cheeks, nasolabial folds (mouth to nose lines), marionette lines (corner of mouth to jawline lines) and in the tear troughs (under eye). To simplify the process, they stimulate collagen. They break down over time and further threads may be used depending on the amount of volume restoration required.” After one year in business, Rajdi is thrilled with the response from her regular clientele, all of whom refer others, creating a “Pause family”. “One comment we often hear is visiting Pause is like receiving a big warm hug,” she says. “We listen to our patients concerns. We are all about making people feel more confident. This is so evident not only with the adults who are receiving injectable or skin treatments but also the teenagers that we treat. “We have a passion project with the teens – we call it our ‘Teen Clean’ – it’s all about helping clean the skin of the teens whilst 22 slim magazine Winter 2022
